Conference Registration fees are:

$100.00 for a limited time ($150.00 original price) for current PMI or GCKIP members

$200.00 for a limited time ($250.00 original price) for non-members

$50.00 for a limited time ($75.00 original price) for students and senior citizens

$120.00 for a limited time ($170.00 original price) to join GCKIP & attend the symposium

2008 KPM Symposium is taking shape

The Third KPM Symposium will be held on August 18-20, 2008 at the OU-Tulsa Newly built Learning Center. The KPM Symposium is a unique opportunity to bring people together from academia and industry to exchange ideas, explore recent developments and emerging trends.

Paul B. Bell, Jr., Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Vice Provost for Instruction at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK will be kicking off the Symposium with the opening talk at the conference.

Ken Lackey, Chairman and CEO of the NORDAM Group, has been selected as the 2008 Keynote speaker.

Lee R. Lambert, Founder of PMP, will be presenting a special 4-hour workshop on Managing Knowledge Using the Tools and Techniques of Project Management

For all those who attend the KPM Symposium today and yesterday, thank you so much! For those who volunteered your valuable time and attention, you deserve extra thanks. Thanks to our sponsors Cincom and OSU (Spears School of Business/MSIS/IRIS). Thanks also to our four collaborating universities, OU, OSU, TU and NSU. Finally, the greatest thanks go to our speakers who provided such wonderful and thoughtful content. I was delighted to see the number of times that speakers referred to each other's presentations -- it was evidence of knowledge sharing in action. At the end of conference today, there was a well-attended Knowledge Cafe, conducted by co-chairs Chuck Tryon and Suliman Hawamdeh. It was a very interactive session where we discussed how to implement project-focused KM initiatives, among other topics. You'll hear more about that in the weeks to come.
In short, I think we had a great two-day conference, and we now we know how to make the KPM Symposium 2008 even better. One more time......Thank You!

This presentation is an overview of the preservation and production requirements for electronically stored information. Specifically, this presentation discusses laws, rules and regulations which apply to all companies and agencies, and how these companies can apply state of the art digital forensics processes to preserve, redact, and produce electronically stored information.
This presentation covers several topics including: location of digital evidence, acquisition and examination of the electronic information, existing uses for digital evidence, and the development of proper plans and procedures for preservation and production of all digital information.
It is important to make all professionals aware of the possibilities for evidence acquisition available through digital forensics and electronic discovery. In particular all professionals should know how these tools can be used as allowed by the Freedom of Information Act, current case law, and the 2006 Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

A presentation by Diane Hayes, Ph.D PMP, has been added to the conference program. The title of her presentation is "All I Need to Know About Intellectual Capital Best Practices I Learned in Kindergarten" and her topic description is:

Intellectual capital – the intangible assets of skill, experience, productivity, information, knowledge, infrastructure, and relationships – can be used to provide a source of competitive advantage. Set in the spirited context of what we learned in kindergarten, we will move beyond the attention traditionally given to project schedule, budget and quality. We're happy to announce that Joseph Colannino, of John Zink Co, LLC, has been added to the conference program. Here is the abstract of his presentation:

John Zink Co. has developed a state-of-the-art quote-to-order system dubbed Fort NOx. The system collects customer data, performs burner selection and design, produces drawing document files, and assembles the quotation – all at the point of inquiry. Previously, the specification, design, and quotation of engineered to order products required two weeks to complete. Fort NOx allows these complex and interrelated tasks to be completed in less than an hour and with greater rigor. The system is now being expanded to encompass more products. The paper overviews the Fort NOx program, describes the overall development process, and shows how the company overcame some of its challenges to achieve its goals.
