In the sense that only Sephardim live here, and the sense that it is poor. It is really poor, as in this is also the area that most of Jerusalem's Ethiopian live in. Not that there is anything wrong with Ethiopians. I like them more than most sabras. They just tend to be on the poorer side of the Israeli spectrum - fact.<BR/><BR/>Katamon is an American ghetto, just like Mea Shaarim is a religious ghetto, just like Nahalot is becoming a young hippish/yuppy ghetto -- I guess in the sense that a neighborhood has its reputation and style.<BR/><BR/>I don't mind Katamon or Baka, those areas where the Americans - Anglos live.
