My story:
In the fall of 2002 my great grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was my G-G. She was one of the strongest women I have every met. Se passed away in January of 2003 when Samantha was three weeks old. Like Kristin said, she was the glue that held us together and had a way with words to make us feel so special.

We also recently found out our biological mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.

A few months ago one of my high school friends was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. She is currently going through chemo. Vanessa is one of my best friend Jillian's, best friend (did that make sense?) When Vanessa lost her hair from her chemo, in support Jillian shaved her head for Vanessa.

BugaBike.. Now this looks like fun!

I can still remember my first bike and when I learned to ride by myself. I was five years old. We lived in Oklahoma city then and I remember getting on my bike with no training wheels and pedaling as fast as I could as to not tip over. All I was going was across the street to our neighbors house who happened to also be our babysitter. I can still remember my little sister who was four saying "mana you gonna fwallllllll"

When a child learns to ride a bike all by themselves it's something they will never forget. They are so proud of themselves for achieving such a huge milestone.

Now that my oldest daughter is five she tries so hard to ride her bike and gets so upset every time she falls over. It would be much easier for her if she could balance first before trying o pedal.

Bugabike was designed for young children just learning to balance. Up till now I had never even seen one much less heard of one. In Europe they are fairly common but here in the US its a new concept.

The idea is that before a child can use a petal bike they can learn to use a balance bike. A balance bike is basically a scaled down bike with no petals, the child can use the bike much like they would use a ride on but with the exception of the pedaling the Bugabike functions like a regular bike. The idea is that they learn balance and control of the bike so that when they are ready for a petal bike the transition is easy and there is no need for training wheels.

The Bugabike's body is made of birch poly wood, it sports pneumatic tires (just like a real bike) and rubber hand grips, and all of the fittings are high grade steel. No detail was spared. It comes mostly assembled all you have is install the front piece so it takes just a few minutes at most to get it ready to go. For an all wood toy the Bugabike is very light, around 8lbs, and very compact so it will easily fit anywhere so you can take it on all of your family outings with no problems. The tires on the Bugabike are great as the Bugabike will truly go anywhere from inside to outside to pretty much any terrain you can throw at it. The entire bike is warrantied for three years.

I am very interested in learning even more about this new bike and hubby and I are talking about getting one for Sam possibly for Christmas.

So Busy!

Man it's the second day into the week and I have been so busy! This week is swim lessons week (next week too)

I am amazed at how much Sam has learned in ONE day! ONE DAY! I mean, she knew how to swim before lessons started, but she mostly did the doggy paddle. I was just shocked watching her today and doing everything so perfectly. Even her swim teacher was impressed.

Sarah is doing the mommy & me class. She does not want to do anything except play. But She is going under water to get the "bananas" and "pickles" She will learn though.

Today was also ballet for Sam. Sarah was very upset when Grandma took her to ballet and kept crying "alleeeeee, alleeeee" She wants to do ballet like her big sis. But here they have to be 4 to start. So one more year.

So am I crazy for already getting ideas for Sam's birthday next year? I guess I am so excited for her starting kinder that I think of all the little friends she is going to make. I am truly excited for my baby girl!

The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk
