I was visiting <a href="http://backdoorprimitives.blogspot.com/">Dawn</a> and she posted a pic of a little black stool she found at a sale and it made me a bit nostalgic and reminded me of the little stool my FIL made as a christmas gift 14 yrs ago for my son who is now 16. Just a few months after he made the stool and matching chair he passed away with lung cancer. He was so proud to see his grandson enjoying those wonderful gifts. Once Brendan out grew the chair and stool they were put away until the time our youngset son was old enough and they were again used by Parker who never got to know his grandfather. Both my children have long since out grown these treasured items<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlqVcFWbgxI/AAAAAAAAA4A/X2FPw9a78Fo/s1600-h/101_0812.jpg"><p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 353px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357759016415757074" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlqVcFWbgxI/AAAAAAAAA4A/X2FPw9a78Fo/s400/101_0812.jpg" /></a></p><br />They have weathered with use and time but I will not part with them because one day I am sure that when grandkids come along( in the very distant future) that they too will get use out these cherished heirlooms. But in the mean time they are once again in use by my cousin's little girl whom I babysit every Monday.<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlqZr99xX-I/AAAAAAAAA4Q/QjVR05kpHQY/s1600-h/101_0583.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357763687357702114" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlqZr99xX-I/AAAAAAAAA4Q/QjVR05kpHQY/s400/101_0583.jpg" /></a><br /><p></p><p>I'm sure that when my FIL made these he had no idea it would be a gift that kept on giving.<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlqVctPBzMI/AAAAAAAAA4I/sE_qzNxIm_U/s1600-h/101_0813.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357759027122130114" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlqVctPBzMI/AAAAAAAAA4I/sE_qzNxIm_U/s400/101_0813.jpg" /></a></p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-6376187517414861292?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-52699670630459710032009-07-11T22:22:00.005-04:002009-07-11T22:50:21.252-04:00I made it. Can you believe it?Tomorrow my grandma's side of the family is having a reunion which is held at her house. So of course we have to go. Each family is asked to bring an item for a chinese auction.Usually I sew a purse or a little doll but this year I wanted to make something different. I came up with this prim sign which is actually inspired by the cornhole score board I made a few days ago( few posts down).<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SllJuWh1oCI/AAAAAAAAA3w/CCnaNFL5Zc4/s1600-h/101_0809.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357394292404232226" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SllJuWh1oCI/AAAAAAAAA3w/CCnaNFL5Zc4/s400/101_0809.jpg" /></a> It took a couple of hours to make with Wayne's help. He drilled the holes for the hooks and cut the wood but I painted it and I love it. My 16yr old gave it his seal of approval because he said it was "pretty sweet". Now I'm not so sure I wanna give it up. Guess I'll just have to make another one for myself. I may even make a couple to sell at the store.<br />Miss Ginger wanted say hello to my bloggin buddies and to see what I was doing. She's such a curious kitty.<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SllNm3bOQXI/AAAAAAAAA34/-Xhe8Bc2cPw/s1600-h/101_0811.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357398561842413938" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SllNm3bOQXI/AAAAAAAAA34/-Xhe8Bc2cPw/s400/101_0811.jpg" /></a><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-5269967063045971003?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-4257640984178786322009-07-10T21:31:00.008-04:002009-07-11T08:01:03.009-04:00Yard Sale finds.Today I actually had time to go to some yard sales since I didn't have to work. And I found some great goodies. I was excited because I rarely find anything I want but today I hit the jackppot.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfsKNi3qOI/AAAAAAAAA24/jnV2RYpIiV4/s1600-h/101_0797.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357009941959256290" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfsKNi3qOI/AAAAAAAAA24/jnV2RYpIiV4/s400/101_0797.jpg" /></a> First we have an old wash board , a wooden bowl(I've wanted one for a long time.) and a couple little resin baskets. </p><p><br /><br /></p><p><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfsLN4w-7I/AAAAAAAAA3A/lPDnKzGTaEM/s1600-h/101_0798.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357009959230962610" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfsLN4w-7I/AAAAAAAAA3A/lPDnKzGTaEM/s400/101_0798.jpg" /></a> A 3pc set of wooden books. Here's a close up of the baskets. </p><p><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfsL3jRa4I/AAAAAAAAA3I/RMPA4FwcwV0/s1600-h/101_0799.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357009970415102850" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfsL3jRa4I/AAAAAAAAA3I/RMPA4FwcwV0/s400/101_0799.jpg" /></a> also a nice americana basket and a wooden star garland. </p><p><br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfsMlAtf3I/AAAAAAAAA3Q/QA4KfdLIh24/s1600-h/101_0800.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357009982618173298" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfsMlAtf3I/AAAAAAAAA3Q/QA4KfdLIh24/s400/101_0800.jpg" /></a> I have plans to redo this bench but I'm not sure what color I want yet. I'm thinking either a dark red with black dry brushed on it or maybe a navy blue with antique white dry brushed on it. Still deciding.<br /><br />But my favorite item is this table.<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfsO0uOYnI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/ffCO29-K5DE/s1600-h/101_0805.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357010021195342450" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfsO0uOYnI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/ffCO29-K5DE/s400/101_0805.jpg" /></a> I'm leaving it as it is because it's perfect. It's going to stay outside on my porch. Which is getting a make over soon.<br /><br />Here is what I've already done with a few of my new goodies. </p><p><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/Slfuvl6oPBI/AAAAAAAAA3g/jG7Gr67CSp8/s1600-h/101_0802.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357012783179774994" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/Slfuvl6oPBI/AAAAAAAAA3g/jG7Gr67CSp8/s400/101_0802.jpg" /></a> This is a shelf I have in my kitchen that I change with the seasons. This one is for the summer season. But it seems my white walls need a new color job. They just seems so bland to me lately.<br /><br />My other shelf still needs some work.<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfuwIuA8JI/AAAAAAAAA3o/7VeK1z_IaOg/s1600-h/101_0804.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357012792522109074" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlfuwIuA8JI/AAAAAAAAA3o/7VeK1z_IaOg/s400/101_0804.jpg" /></a> As you can see the little door Wayne made me a few years ago needs a prim make over and so does the glass candle stick on the right. I'll get around to it soon. I hope. But I'm not sure yet what I'm going to replace the heart make do with. maybe a star one.</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-425764098417878632?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-29195776234160896202009-07-09T16:48:00.005-04:002009-07-09T17:01:15.722-04:00Vintage InspirationLast month I was doing some blog surfing(which I do alot of) and came across <a href="http://musingsfromafrenchcottage.blogspot.com/2009/01/old-grain-sack-pillow.html">this tutorial</a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlZY7fHr31I/AAAAAAAAA2o/ZYLupCneGj0/s1600-h/anotherview.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 248px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356566585793044306" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlZY7fHr31I/AAAAAAAAA2o/ZYLupCneGj0/s400/anotherview.jpg" /></a><br />and I liked it so much I gave it a try. I wasn't sure what I was going to make with the fabric after trying. I knew I didn't want a pillow like she had made, so I went off to bed not knowing what I was going make. I forgot to take a before picture sorry.<br /><br />The next morning I was doing some blog reading and came across <a href="http://apeaceofbliss.blogspot.com/2009/04/mamas-got-brand-new-bag.html">this post </a>and I instantly knew what I wanted to make with my faux vintage cloth.<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlZZW-TXqzI/AAAAAAAAA2w/upiz4TEkGes/s1600-h/101_0655.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356567058020018994" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlZZW-TXqzI/AAAAAAAAA2w/upiz4TEkGes/s400/101_0655.jpg" /></a><br />A purty library bag that cost next to nothing since I had all the supplies on hand. I love it and I've already used it for a trip to the library and the beach. It would make a great market bag too. Don't ya just love it. I'm thinking one in blue would look just as grand. I might even coffee dye it to make it a little more prim.Still not sure yet.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-2919577623416089620?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-90456562478092698222009-07-08T22:38:00.004-04:002009-07-09T10:06:10.191-04:00Whatca Workin On WednesdayI know I'm a little late but hey it's still counts because Wednesday isn't over yet.<br /><br />I don't have alot to show but I did wok on this. What you ask is it? Keep reading and you'll find out.<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlVYm6N7QgI/AAAAAAAAA14/z2peh2BJah8/s1600-h/101_0787.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356284757313012226" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlVYm6N7QgI/AAAAAAAAA14/z2peh2BJah8/s400/101_0787.jpg" /></a><br />First I painted it white but didn't like it. So I painted over it with tan<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlVYnRM9SHI/AAAAAAAAA2A/jcVdY4ml2_o/s1600-h/101_0788.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356284763482966130" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlVYnRM9SHI/AAAAAAAAA2A/jcVdY4ml2_o/s400/101_0788.jpg" /></a> But I didn't like it either and decided to wipe the tan off and it looked like this<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlVYnizIKSI/AAAAAAAAA2I/yRNVlkbjoNQ/s1600-h/101_0789.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356284768206465314" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlVYnizIKSI/AAAAAAAAA2I/yRNVlkbjoNQ/s400/101_0789.jpg" /></a><br />and I was pleased with it. Looks prim now. Still wondering what it is?<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlVYn0rZw5I/AAAAAAAAA2Q/csyniQEsubY/s1600-h/101_0792.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356284773005902738" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlVYn0rZw5I/AAAAAAAAA2Q/csyniQEsubY/s400/101_0792.jpg" /></a> It's a cornhole scoreboard. I bet no one else thought to prim up their score board. Now if only I had tought to do that with the cornhole boards (which I didn't get a pic of) before we sent them off to my Grandmas. She wanted a set made for an upcoming family reunion. Oh well when Wayne makes the next set I am so priming them because they will be mine to keep.<br /><br />And next we have this little ironing board Wayne made to sell at the shop. It's just like the one he made me for Valentine's day which I forgot to share with you.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlVYoQszdGI/AAAAAAAAA2Y/VZWwSyGVfY0/s1600-h/101_0791.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356284780527973474" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlVYoQszdGI/AAAAAAAAA2Y/VZWwSyGVfY0/s400/101_0791.jpg" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlX4grFbKRI/AAAAAAAAA2g/5kxzPBElono/s1600-h/101_0794.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlX4grFbKRI/AAAAAAAAA2g/5kxzPBElono/s400/101_0794.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356460572032051474" /></a><br />It's 12 inches wide and 30 inches long and make s great litte table top iron. STOP beating me up for something I said and removed from my post! I meant no disrepect to anyone and never meant to cause a ruckus. I write this blog because I enjoy sharing my life with you(my readers)if there are any left. I know that not everyone will always agree with me. I am sorry to anyone in Kentucky for anything that I had written here that may have upset you. You really do have a beautiful state and I enjoyed my visit there. Yes I know that each state including Ohio has good and bad places along the way and we must take the good with the bad. I don't know what more I can say to make things any better. From this point on I will be alot more careful about things I post.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-4765397668216525819?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-36867057996461130262009-07-06T23:04:00.021-04:002009-07-09T10:08:06.890-04:00Kentucky Bound<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlLE5WKHNHI/AAAAAAAAA1Y/4X4N2e5O0Y4/s1600-h/101_0740.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355559396376523890" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlLE5WKHNHI/AAAAAAAAA1Y/4X4N2e5O0Y4/s400/101_0740.jpg" /></a> I've always wanted to go to Kentucky and this past Sunday we did just that.<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlK7uP6AliI/AAAAAAAAAz4/FljTFVV_HLY/s1600-h/101_0741.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355549310115157538" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlK7uP6AliI/AAAAAAAAAz4/FljTFVV_HLY/s400/101_0741.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div>We headed to <a href="http://parks.ky.gov/findparks/resortparks/cc/">Carter Caves State Resort Park</a>. It took us 4hrs to get there because Wayne took a wrong turn and drove a half hr before we turned around and got back on track. Here is the bridge that crosses over the Ohio river from Portsmouth,OH into Kentucky<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlK85IJI8lI/AAAAAAAAA0A/Wwo--r25oRQ/s1600-h/101_0739.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355550596521325138" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlK85IJI8lI/AAAAAAAAA0A/Wwo--r25oRQ/s400/101_0739.jpg" /></a> <br /><br />The trip once we were into Kentucky was very interesting. Everything is so green and trees are everywhere. As you can see from the bridge. This was pretty much the view we had for most of the trip.Which was beautiful BTW. Some of the side roads were just a little gravel pathways and there were lots of cemetaries- some right beind peoples houses and the little country churches just sat in the middle of no where. The roads we traveled were mostly back country roads but yet state routes. We stopped at a little country gas station and the pumps were the old fashioned ones where the numbers rolled instead of being digital. It was very quaint and it just seemed so peaceful and relaxing.</p><div>Once we arrived at our destination it was amazing. It was like entering a world of it's own. <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlLAo2_4obI/AAAAAAAAA0I/5-UorxjKTfY/s1600-h/101_0783.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355554715087708594" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlLAo2_4obI/AAAAAAAAA0I/5-UorxjKTfY/s400/101_0783.jpg" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlLGQov8oXI/AAAAAAAAA1g/iaqLn4wqgLI/s1600-h/101_0772.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355560896015671666" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SlLGQov8oXI/AAAAAAAAA1g/iaqLn4wqgLI/s400/101_0772.jpg" /></a><br />We toured Cascade caves. So we went out to see what it was and here is what we found.<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkrNtmfEE0I/AAAAAAAAAwM/avorek9Ke_U/s1600-h/101_0695.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353317290391900994" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkrNtmfEE0I/AAAAAAAAAwM/avorek9Ke_U/s400/101_0695.jpg" /></a><br /><br />A baby bird. It didn't try to fly away it just hopped farther into the ivy.<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkrNt5X4rUI/AAAAAAAAAwU/O0kKC_Udldk/s1600-h/101_0697.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353317295462067522" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkrNt5X4rUI/AAAAAAAAAwU/O0kKC_Udldk/s400/101_0697.jpg" /></a><br />When we went to check on it later the birdie was gone.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-4525868716461765066?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-43099259326201330802009-06-30T09:40:00.004-04:002009-06-30T10:06:14.500-04:00Got another bagI know your gonna get tired of seeing all these library bags I'm making but I enjoy showing hem off.<br />This bag I decided to round the corners. I'm trying to use nice bright summery colors and use my sash up.<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkoWIw59U-I/AAAAAAAAAv8/QH6UDy8FnGI/s1600-h/101_0693.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353115446906016738" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkoWIw59U-I/AAAAAAAAAv8/QH6UDy8FnGI/s400/101_0693.jpg" /></a><br /><br />And here is the insde. It could be reversible if you wanted.<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkoWJNEwNVI/AAAAAAAAAwE/wrH5-CvK0WI/s1600-h/101_0694.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353115454467487058" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkoWJNEwNVI/AAAAAAAAAwE/wrH5-CvK0WI/s400/101_0694.jpg" /></a><br /><p>Now I'm going to rant a bit so don't mind me. I said before I wanted to use my stash well actually I have to because soon my fabric source will be gone. You see I work in the fabric department of a local retailer ( I don't need to name them I'm sure the majority of you know wnho I mean.) and they will no longer be carrying fabric. Which means I have to drive 30 minues to the nearest fabric store instead of picking it up while at work. Mind you 30 minutes is not that far to drive if you have the time but when I work Tuesday through Saturday 9 hrs a day and babysit on Mondays I have one day to get my house work done and spend sometime with the family it's kind of hard to get on the other side of town to buy fabric. It's a bit frustrating but it's a good thing I've got quite a stash going on.</p><p>Have a Nice day.</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-4309925932620133080?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-3759518681365457412009-06-29T20:13:00.001-04:002009-06-29T20:17:05.472-04:00Americana Giveaway.Kim over at <a href="http://palmerfallsprimitive.blogspot.com/">Palmer Falls Primitives</a>is having a great giveaway. head on over an check it out. So I decided it was my turn for a new bag. I whipped this one up in about an hour and a half. I'm thinking I might do a tutorial on it but I'm sure if anyone would actually like making a small bag like his.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkfKDIavlII/AAAAAAAAAvU/pxzVyG8B2tQ/s1600-h/101_0682.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352468837301195906" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkfKDIavlII/AAAAAAAAAvU/pxzVyG8B2tQ/s400/101_0682.jpg" /></a> This bag is 12 x 12 and works nicely for a purse as you can see I've already got it filled.<br /><br /><div><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkfKDTOD9TI/AAAAAAAAAvc/LWeDMk2KlbU/s1600-h/101_0683.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 366px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352468840200795442" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkfKDTOD9TI/AAAAAAAAAvc/LWeDMk2KlbU/s400/101_0683.jpg" /></a></div></div><br />I think the next one I make I will add a pocket on the outside.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-7074866456570927110?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-81136143907529156732009-06-26T08:14:00.004-04:002009-06-27T09:49:43.714-04:00It's in the bagI posted my first bag over at <a href="http://purtygirlboutique.blogspot.com/">the boutique</a> but decided to post this one here. It's not prim but I like it. And I'm having lots of fun making these bags.<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkS8GNcWNuI/AAAAAAAAAt8/Breo5liBllY/s1600-h/101_0666.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351609072096786146" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkS8GNcWNuI/AAAAAAAAAt8/Breo5liBllY/s400/101_0666.jpg" /></a> The hearts are handstitched. They took longer to stitch than the actual bag itself.<br />I took this to work to show off and I already have one gal that wants one made for her. She's got her fabric all picked out.<br /><br />Here's the inside. I made it so it could be reversible. But I like the outside best.<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkS8Gq30u3I/AAAAAAAAAuE/b6Uy5NWURC4/s1600-h/101_0667.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351609079996660594" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xwrAZ-rgvps/SkS8Gq30u3I/AAAAAAAAAuE/b6Uy5NWURC4/s400/101_0667.jpg" /></a><br /><br />Well I'm off DH has a DR. appt and I have more bags to designs.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-8113614390752915673?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-35102474100321793092009-05-31T20:03:00.001-04:002009-05-31T20:05:05.628-04:00A new blog<a href="http://www.shabbyblogs.com/" target="_blank" border="0"><img src="http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww111/ShabbyBlogs/ShabbyBlogsFollow-1.jpg" /></a> over on my other blog <a href="http://www.purtygirlboutique.blogspot.com/">Purty Girl Boutique</a>.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-3510247410032179309?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-20772462814391458742009-05-27T07:48:00.002-04:002009-05-27T07:57:11.141-04:00Raspberry BlondiesI made these Blond Brownies for our Memorial Day gathering and they were a big hit with the family so I thought I'd share them with you.<br /><br />Raspberry Blondies<br /><br />1/4 cup butter<br />1 cup packed brown sugar<br />1/4 tsp baking powder<br />1/8 tsp baking soda<br />pinch of salt<br />1/2 cup copped nuts<br />1 cup of chocolate chips ( I used white chocolate chips)<br />1/2 tsp raspberry flavoring<br /><br />Cream together butter and brown sugar, then beat in eggs. How is everyone? I am doing good. Since I was last here my hubby and I have been spending more time together and doing more things with our boys. When my grandpa passed away it made me realize that life was too short and I needed to start spending more time with my family. I now visit my grandma at least two or three times a week. She is 81 and not going to be here forever so I treasure every moment I have with her.<br /><br />We had a great Easter and enjoyed our yearly egg hunt. We came home with 5 dozen eggs. Lets just say we've had lots of egg salad lately.<br /><br />In other news <a href="http://allthesisters.com/">All The Sisters</a> now has a website. That's the shop that I am a part of with my friends Donnely, Diana and Cass. We have a store in Bremen,OH but will soon be moving to Somerset, Ohio to a much bigger store at the end of this month. That is exciting news for to us. I'll post pics once we are all moved in ad set up.<br />For now that's all I have. I'll stop back as soon as I have more to share. Take Care and Happy Crafting.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-8811085363997674929?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8486955159749725032.post-28922316778938394372009-03-22T21:55:00.002-04:002009-03-22T21:59:14.211-04:00I'm here...but I'm taking a little break:)I've been getting some emails :) I know... January wasn't the best month for me.So I'm glad to see it go. Things can only get better.<br /> I asked <a href="http://rondell-tomatoecreekprims.blogspot.com/">Rondell </a>to give me a letter. She gave me the letter M. She really made me think on this one. I thought I'll never come up with 10 things I like that start with the letter M. But once I sat down I actually came up with more but I'll only share the top 10. Thanks Rondell.<br /><br />1. Me-I always make sure to take time for myself because if I'm not happy then my guys aren't happy. LOL<br /><br />2. My family-They are the most important thing to me, my reason for living. They give me great joy and I miss those that are no longer with us.<br /><br />3. Mom- We may not always agree on everything but she is more than just my mother she is my friend.<br /><br />4.Megan- she is my youngest cousin but is more like a little sister and I love her dearly<br /><br />5.Mystery- I love reading mystery books. Right now I am reading the Molly Murphy series by Rhys Bowman.<br /><br />6.Music- I enjoy listening to heavy metal which surprises most people. They think I look more like the country type but that just goes to show looks can be deceiving. I'm just not into country.<br /><br />7. Money- well I don't really love money but I need it to suport my sewing habbit.LOL<br /><br />8.Memories- making memories can be fun and is important they help biuld character and give us something to reflect on.<br /><br />9. Movies- we don't go to a lot of movies but we do rent a few DVDs every Sunday for our weekly family night. It's just one more way we are creating memories for my family.<br /><br />10. Muffins- I love eating muffins, they go great with my morning tea.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8486955159749725032-7568874957745170608?l=purtygirlprimitives.blogspot.com'/></div>JenW!~http://www.blogger.com/profile/16476024440130365515rubyjunes@gmail.com3
