now the women are trying to beat 2.5 balls at 39 off to take the lead.

Placid Waters and A1

Were out at Placid Waters today in Allendale to test out the new lakes
and HO's new ski, the A1. This place is awesome with 6 man made lakes
to choose from. Early response says the ski is a hit as well. Here is

Team Action Sizes Up the Competition at the PWT

The Pro Wakeboard Tour (PWT) is underway for 2008 and qualifying for the season finished this past weekend. It was definitely a tense few days for all riders, both the long time pros and the rookies. The Format of the PWT allows anyone to enter for the first two stops, and the final three stops include only the top 40 competitors. We’re keeping a close eye on two west Michigan guys as they push themselves to the brink in the 2008 season.

Team Action and MasterCraft pro rider Derek Grasman, (Jenison, MI), continues his road to recovery on the PWT after battling a severe leg injury at a MasterCraft photoshoot last October 2007. His hundreds of hours of physical therapy have helped him hold on to one of the 40 coveted spots in the PWT. We’ll be keeping in contact with Derek as he works to get his leg strength up to par and fights his way back to the top of the Pro Tour.

Another Action team rider, James Hindes (Fremont, Michigan), has been training hard the last few years at the regional level and national Junior Men’s division of the PWT. If you’ve been to any Action wakeboard tournaments the past few years you may remember him. James put together a solid run this past weekend beating 4 others in his heat to qualify for the rest of the 2008 tour. In his rookie season, James is now ranked in the top 30 pro men riders on tour, a huge accomplishment.

Congrats to both Derek and James! We wish you luck in the 2008 season.

The new HO A1 Slalom Ski

HO created a lot of buzz in the waterskiing world last week unveiling its latest slalom ski at the Masters. The new A1 is the first ski out of the factory of the new Syndicate line of skis HO has planned to roll out in the future. This ski is like nothing we've seen before and you dont have to take our word for it either. Just ask HO pro skier Will Asher who won the Masters tournament last weekend on the new ski. Take a look at the video below for a preview and stop into our stores later in June to hold one of these new toys in your hands.

Switch Winch + Kicker+ Slider = Good Times

Over the last few months many nights were spent working on a new winch with the full support of the Summit Marine crew(www.summitmarine.com). We now have the worlds first full custom CNC winch featuring an 8 horse motor with a torque converter. After many freezing cold drysuit test runs in March, the new "Switch Winch" is ready to handle any pond, river, or stream in sight.

It is making its debut today and tomorrow at Action's Grand Opening Sale in Fenton, Michigan. If you dont have much going this weekend stop in and see our new store. The winch will be tugging our team athletes all day long over a 5' tall kicker and our new A-frame slider. Check out the video below for a preview of whats in store for the event. Trick Tips-Spring Training

Hey everyone! The first day of spring is here, finally. It has been long overdue and even though the weather isn’t too promising it is time to get things going. I have spent a long winter planning what I want to learn and visualizing those tricks in my head. For me, I would like to increase the spins I can do and add some new inverts to my bag of tricks.

Tip 1: Spin better and faster.
A majority of the time when learning a new spin the problem doesn’t lie with being able to get your body to spin but comes when you try to pass the handle. So many times I see someone learning, for example, a 360 and they easily complete the rotation and ride away gracefully on the other wake, unfortunately, with no handle in sight. To practice the handle pass you should find a 5 ft handle lying around somewhere, or come in and pick one up from Action, and attach a milk jug full of water or sand to the end. Try to keep it low and as close to your body as you can. As you feel comfortable start spinning it a little faster. Once you get this dialed you will be that much closer to adding that extra 180 or spinning your first 360.

Tip 2: Increase your air awareness.
The best way to do this is to get out and try stuff. Now, I don’t recommend going out and trying to do a Pete Rose for your first hit of the summer, but there are ways to accelerate the process. The best way to practice without taking the falls would be to get on a trampoline. I move my trampoline close enough to a tree so I can attach a wakeboard rope to the tree and practice new moves I want to do. This will get you more familiar with being inverted and save you the time and pain of trying it right on the water.

Push Process Movie Premiers

Our Push Process Movie Premiers rolled through Michigan on December 12th and 13th. Pro wakeboarders Andrew Adkison and Jack Blodgett flew into town for the special occasions with plenty of free Oakley gear for the guests and even a wakeboard to sign from CWB. Andrew and Jack hung out after the movie to sign posters, boards, shirts...even shoes! All in all we had a great time on a cold Michigan December night.
