Before you go all crazy on this post, at least hear me out. The whole point of going over to linux is to have control over your operating system. Even most of the easier distros (openSuse, simplymepis, etc.) still try to get you to learn about how your operating system works. Ubuntu on the other hand tries to completely remove this aspect, and then when something goes wrong, you don't know how to fix it. Ubuntu is known for being a bit slower and a bit buggier than other distros. At the end of the day, ubuntu is just another windows. What was the point of switching to ubuntu, when you are mostly going to use windows applications in wine? I can understand if you are using it as a gateway distro, but beyond that you don't get a lot of the advantages other linux users get, and you are now just another "ignorant member of the masses."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
