I know about the Easter rabbit dilemma but luckily I don't know anyone who's getting one. As for me, I won't be getting one anytime soon either, being a college student whose housing situation changes every year- but someday my dream rabbit and I will be happily united.

If we're plugging, I have a blog now...
http://www.allavian.blogspot.com
If you have room for it in your links section it would be much appreciated...DeeAnnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01438503591001938062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444401.post-13994689998257711472007-04-02T01:11:00.000-05:002007-04-02T01:11:00.000-05:00Easter bunnies? http://www.makeminechocolate.org/i...Easter bunnies? http://www.makeminechocolate.org/index.phpElsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444401.post-79580774180764937462007-04-02T00:05:00.000-05:002007-04-02T00:05:00.000-05:00You guys are always welcome to plug bunny and bird...You guys are always welcome to plug bunny and bird sites in the comments section.birdchickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05751235120097847798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444401.post-70888803050596826852007-04-01T22:01:00.000-05:002007-04-01T22:01:00.000-05:00aww come on BC - be frivilous :-) although i'm gla...aww come on BC - be frivilous :-) although i'm glad cinnamon is more about being sensible when it comes to what to chew in her fortress... be a bummer if she chewed thru floor!

my first rabbit was a mini broken rex - big eyes and wonderfully velvety fur - pics on my site

i like the idea from anon - a refrigerator cardboard box for ME!

for anyone in so cal (if you don't mind BC) check out www.bunnybunch.org - it's a great rescue org. don't get a bunny for easter but if you want a bun and have 10-12 yrs to give to it definitely go the rescue route!archi annhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01603262358146191738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444401.post-62426915811508453912007-04-01T10:38:00.000-05:002007-04-01T10:38:00.000-05:00We got Cinnamon from the St Paul Humane Society on...We got Cinnamon from the St Paul Humane Society one summer several years ago. She was an Easter present that the family had grown tired of.

Did you catch that hint--Easter is not the time to get a rabbit.

Incidentally, Cinnamon is a Castor Rex (all rexes are known for their short velvety fur). I have seen rabbits like her going for $50 and we got her for $15--what a deal.

Seriously, if you are thinking of getting a rabbit, find the local house rabbit/companion rabbit group in your area. You will get MUCH better deals and great buns. They are almost always already spayed or neutered (a value of $100 - $200 depending on the vet), already socialized, and generally cost $40. That's a heck of deal.

If you know of a friend who is thinking of getting a cute rabbit for Easter, please talk them out of it. Live pets for Easter are not a good idea.birdchickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05751235120097847798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444401.post-56603307835331267362007-04-01T10:19:00.000-05:002007-04-01T10:19:00.000-05:00where did you get cinnamon? NBB and I were planning on going in August, but we're torn between being sensible or being frivolous.

Cinnamon's Fortress of Solitude is actually a Cottontail Cottage. We actually have two--one in the bunny room and then one in the living room she can loaf in. The one in the bunny room is well chewed, but she has sensibly only chewed windows and doors as opposed to the second and third floor.birdchickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05751235120097847798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444401.post-76123042752378818102007-04-01T06:50:00.000-05:002007-04-01T06:50:00.000-05:00Cinnamon is one lucky Bunn, having her own Fortres...Cinnamon is one lucky Bunn, having her own Fortress of Solitude! I must say that on the dog walk yesterday I saw two huge herons (teradactyl sized) two buzzards, a mallard and another v small duck that was flying away from us too quickly for an i.d.- this was in addition to all the songbirds and pheasants.Peggyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15445927851498985260noreply@blogger.com
