If it has a sensor to make sure that it never overfills, then it could easily have a sensor to indicate when it was empty, and just fill itself when necessary, eliminating the complication and battery issues of the remote.

Jess: I suspect that the concrete is to anchor the pole that the feeder sits on. That's a pretty standard way to put a pole in the ground that's stable over time in all weather conditions and that won't rot over time.Craig Steffenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04389673493933775673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444401.post-21962190577064482872007-08-18T07:24:00.000-05:002007-08-18T07:24:00.000-05:00An amazing concept and I can think of some applica...An amazing concept and I can think of some applications where it might work really well, but the cost is quite astronomical for most people (not to mention the additional costs and labor required after you've purchased the unit).
I like walking around and filling all my feeders....sometimes it's the only exercise I have time for.RuthieJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11663411478574192825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444401.post-62450106896034577842007-08-17T23:02:00.000-05:002007-08-17T23:02:00.000-05:00Oh, for Goodness sake! You STILL have to fill the d...Oh, for Goodness sake!
You STILL have to fill the damn thing!
Pneumatic filling? Supposing they use the output side of a vacuum cleaner as the blower, the air would be warmed and might be sufficient to dry things out.

Ignoring the obvious problem of price, I don't care for the one-design-only feeder. That could substitute for my safflower feeder, but not for the thistle, and my sunflower hearts go in a caged feeder to allow only the small birds (or very long-tongued woodpeckers) to use it. And of course how many serious bird feeders only feed one kind of seed?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444401.post-17998928231083161222007-08-17T11:54:00.000-05:002007-08-17T11:54:00.000-05:00Moisture would build up in that tubing underground...Moisture would build up in that tubing underground with temperature changes and freeze solid in the winter. Call a number, have someone in the area drop by within a few hours, give 'em 10$ + gas or something. Or a network of volunteers'd be nicer, but that won't happen. Oh, except maybe in a senior dominated community where it'd actually be more feasable. Y'know. if someone can do it liek a paper route at every other house.ColbyWolfnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8444401.post-6437259318049192212007-08-17T09:57:00.000-05:002007-08-17T09:57:00.000-05:00Shirtless Birdseed Boys?
