It's a bittersweet holiday for me. I look forward to the unofficial start of summer the holiday provides, but I'm always so moved by the thoughts of the men and women who have served our country, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I recently spent a weekend visiting relatives in Connecticut. My father-in-law (a BIG train aficionado) took us to the Essex Steam Train and the Connecticut River Museum. A huge model train display was set up at the museum--a big draw. Also available for viewing was the very first submarine used in warfare. Included was a replica for kids to climb into. Very fun!
