Ignore what the rest are saying - Bassong is apparently a done deal according to Spurs Community and will be announced next week. Bassong, would I assume, be back up to King and Woodgate and is probably the best of a bad lot from Newcastle.

More scarily, tight wad Levy thinks we can do some cut price deals with his mate Ashley and bring in a few more of the Newcastle dross, Nolan amongst them. Why we would want to bring in anymore rubbish from Newcastle is beyond me. They went down because they were dreadful and buying a bucket load of championship players is not going to see us push on for 6 place - which is all we can probably hope for now Citeh have financial muscle. It is all rather depressing and why Levy needs to hurry up and find someone willing to invest decent cash in the team.

Robbie "Keane" on staying

Latest news on Robbie Keane is that he is not going to Sunderland. Details have been creeping out that the player and the management have had a bit of a falling out over his attitude towards the end of last season and were looking at maybe shipping him on. This has surprised Robbie who has stated that he doen't want to leave, especially not for Sunderland which could still be Darren Bent's final destination.

Keane has had a busy year making his big money "dream" signing to Liverpool only to see it all go wrong and end back at a struggling Spurs team. I for one still think Keane can do well for Spurs. He has already scored over 100 goals in his first spell and a more settled pre-season will hopefully see him returning to decent form again, especially if 'Arry stops playing him very very deep!

Robben coming in?

Rumours from COYS still persist that the Robben deal is not dead. Robben is happy to return to London and Levy was spotted in Madrid only a couple of weeks ago. Apparently the fee is not a problem although it would be interesting to see if Robben could be accommodated in our existing wage structure.

Robben has been working with a fitness coach recently so he is ready to take part in pre-season and be raring to go for the start of the season. Still only 25, his signing would be a major coup for Redknapp and Levy if this is true. I wonder myself as we cannot offer any European football next season, let alone CL.

Huddlestone off

Big Tom is apparently leaving according to Spurs Community ITKs. Bids from three clubs have been accepted in the region of £8.5 million. One of the clubs is supposed to be Sunderland. Big Tom wants first team football and is something he is unlikely to get at Spurs in the near future.

Villa make offer for Bentley and Hudd

Vile have made an offer for Bentley and Huddlestone in the region of £15 million according to SO. It is an interesting offer as we paid that for Bentley a year ago but, as we all know, he has been shocking all season and I won't be sorry to see him go. The breakdown must be about £10 million for Bentley and £5 million for Big Tom which seems fair for each. I will be more sorry to see Tom go as he can knock some balls around beautifully and can hit a ball but his lack of pace and dreadful turn can really leave the midfield exposed. Many teams pressurise Tom and leave him little time on the ball and a team with fast pace can easily over run the middle if Huddlestone is partnered with Wilson. At Vile, similar things will happen. Tom is much better suited to the slower games of Spain and Italy.

Of course, this offer leaves us good ground to manoeuvre for Ashley Young, the winger we missed out on when Levy was clinging to the purse strings a little too tightly and is now going to cost him more in transfer fees and wages. Young on the left, with a slightly improved better ball and Modric through the centre and Lennon right would cause massive problems for opposition teams. No longer could they double up on Lennon knowing we lack pace on the other side and they have to drop deep to stop Modric putting though balls for the strikers. Interesting.

O'Hara to Fulham

Rumours on COYS and FTL reckon O'Hara is going to Fulham for £4 million. I think that is a great bit of business for Spurs if true and will add funds to the transfer kitty. Levy has already stated at the AGM that none of the January purchases were budgeted for and thus 'Arry will have to raise some of the transfer funds himself if he wants to spend big.

O'Hara, nick named O'Horror by some, is a true Spurs fan but like many others before - Dean Marney (remember him) is not quite up to scratch and while he'll work hard all day he isn't quite good enough.

Levy fails Spurs

It beggers belief that at the end of the transfer window Spurs have made a profit on transfers and have seriously weakened a key part of the team in the process of lining Levy's and Enic's pockets but that is exactly what has happened.

Yes Levy was left in a difficult position when both Keane and the new judas both demanded to leave but failing to replace 50 goals between them is going to make our season difficult. While he was willing to screw every penny out of United at the expense of team moral and a good start to the season he was not willing to spend the profits. Thus we are left with Bent, the fourth choice from last season, an unproven Russian who is cup tied in Europe and a loan signing for our strike force. A disgraceful situation to go from the best strikeforce in the league to one of the worst in 3 months.

Now the Levy apologists are already defending him but this is not an excusable offense and unfortunatly we all know the true reason behind it all. GREED. Yep, that's right. Over the last couple of years Enic has been using a share preference scheme to up their share holding on the cheap. Using this scheme their holding in Spurs has increased from 30% to around 80% enabaling them to increase their holdings on the cheap. Suddenly last season Spurs decided to pay a dividend, the first for years taking £6 million or so out of the club and thus away from the transfer kitty. I'm sorry, had we qualified for the Champions League? No but Enic did own most of the club and thus benefited the most from the dividend payment.

And now this is happening again. While we are fleeced at the turnstyle Levy is making a fat profit for his next dividend payment.

Time to go Daniel, your time is up.

Heskey if we can't do better

One of the more reliable ITKs has been in his tree house and has reported back to FTL that lots is going on down at Spurs lodge. One of the more depressing facts is that Heskey is definitely on assuming we can't get anything better sorted. To go from Berbatov to Heskey would be a total disgrace. Spurs would be a laughing stock and I hope it would be the end for Levy. The master of spin believes we have spent a fortune recently but fails to note that until we splashed some cash on the Russian and Corluka we had made a profit on transfers. He also fails to mention he is about to receive £33 million for Berbatov.

How we have resorted to desperate signings when we all knew Berbatov wanted out months ago is disgraceful and tells us all what we need to know about Comolli and Levy.

Owen to Spurs

The transfer Window has finally gone into melt down with the latest rumor of Michael Owen coming to Spurs. The fact that we would have to smash our wage structure to get him makes it highly unlikely. However if he did come we would have a world beating injury room of Owen, King and Woodgate.

Real Madrid have topped Citeh's bid for Berbatov offering £36 million. What we really should do is allowing everything to be agreed up in Manchester before canceling the deal at 11:59. That would piss him.

Corluka done three weeks ago

This clever little find was posted on SC earlier today. If you remember back there were loads of rumors that we had in fact signed Corluka three weeks ago but Manchester City suddenly backed out at the last minute even though we had filed the papers with the Premier League and Corluka had signed on the dotted line. It looked like it was about to turn ugly and could even go to court.

However City have now signed cover for Corluka along with the other 100 other players they seemed to have bought so Corluka is officially a Spurs player. Now if you drag the picture above or from the Spurs site onto your desktop and then put it into a program that can read the EXIF information such as Photoshop or iPhoto you get some interesting facts. The picture was actually taken on August 8th 2008.

The first of many transfers, we hope, for Spurs has been completed. Corluka has been confirmed signed by two ITKs tonight. Everything had been sorted when he was almost signed a couple of weeks ago so it just required Manchester City to sign the paperwork. The only issue now is that he is cup tied for the UEFA cup.

Tomorrow is going to be crazy and I'll post any info I hear as lots of the main message boards are currently closed to new members.

Spurs busy as deadline approaches.

Various ITKs on COYS and FTL have gone into near meltdown. Silence had struck the ITK scene for around a week which did not look to promising as the transfer window is due to close on Monday. Failure to bring in a striker or two would be disastrous for the season ahead. Serious questions would then be asked about the failure to replace Robbie Keane and why the Berbatov situation was allowed to continue for so long.

Hopefully new signings will be made in the coming days. The Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is now just waiting for a visa so he can sign his contract and get the work permit formalities completed. Corluka is still on his way from Manchester City to provide much needed cover for King and also at right back, especially as Hutton is apparently now out for 2 months. Another striker is apparently also on the cards but it isn't Huntelaar who is not coming.

The news on Velso has gone quiet so the defensive midfielder we all crave does not look like it is going to happen.

Finally Arshavin is probable. However I fail to see the need for another attacking midfielder. Going into the season with just two strikers is still not the recipe for success and I suspect we shall have to see another toothless display from the Spurs midfield and Bent before any of these signings are confirmed.

Another farcical display from Spurs led to another defeat and with the Chav's away next week it doesn't look like we are going to get a good start to the season.

I can't be bothered to dissect too much but I really do start to wonder why Giovanni played on the right and Bentley played on the left. Bale looks very short on confidence and Bent is not up to the job.

One juicy bit of gossip coming out of WHL officials via SIMB is that Berbatov was actually picked today but failed to turn up. Could be rubbish of course.

Daniel Levy, we need two strikers, a centre back and a defensive midfielder by September 2nd or it's season over.

Berbatov to AC Milan

Latest rumors from COYS and FTL point to a deal being agreed to sell Berbatov to AC Milan this afternoon.

Earlier today Berbatov and his agent had long talks with the top brass at Spurs and two different sources are now claiming a deal has been tied up with the Italian giants. No one is mentioning the fee but moving out of the Premiership is probably the best we could hope for once he decided he was off.

Reliable sources on the two forums have been saying for weeks now that Berbatov had made up his mind to leave and all attempts to get him to stay failed.

Tottenham Hotspur Vs Chelsea

Tomorrow brings around our first cup final since 2002 when we played Blackburn at the Millennium Stadium. This season we are back at Wembley and our opponents are Chelsea.

This is going to be one tough game regardless of whether Fat Boy or Terry play but it is a must win game for us. This compeition will hopefully bring us our first silverware since 1999 but more importantly it will give the team and the club the belief that they can compete when it matters and that they are capable of winning things. People like Lee Dixon speak of how it gave the scum the belief they could go somewhere in 1987 and Fat Boy Lumplard said the same after Mourinhio's first win in 2005. This will be an important step for the club as a whole in recent times and one where we need to approach the game in a similar fashion to how we demolished Arsenal 5-1.

Our trump card is definetly Ramos. He is tactically excellent and is the miles ahead of Grant in his ability. He will hopefully see what Grant cannot and set us up to win. This is where we can win the game, through his leadership from the bench.

We will line up as strong as possible with only Bale missing from what would be our full strength team. Robbo will be in goal, and we are looking for a performance from him, with King and Woodgate in front. In the full back positions will be Hutton and Chimbonda. Zokora apparently starts with JJ with Steed and Lennon on the flanks. Steed will likely drop in to match the Chavs three in the middle allowing Lennon to terrorize Bridge at left back. Robbie Keane and Berbatov will make up the front two. Keane will probably drop deep. To win the game we need to get into Chelsea's face and hassle for every ball. If we can stop them from playing we can impose ourselevs on them. Chances will be at a premium as Chelsea will try to stifle the life and entertainment out of the game as usual so we will have to make sure we take them when they come along.

Chelsea have been overly cocky in the run up to the game with both Cech and Wright-Phillips both mouthing off in the press. The fans apparently hate us as well although we all know that they will never be our true rivals. It will be interstsing to see if they have sold all their tickets or whether they can stop insulting their billionaire owner, Manager and Manager's dad, who survived the holocaust, by keeping the nazi salutes and gas chamber noises at home.

The Road to Wembley 2008

We played some tough games getting to Wembley including winning at Manchester City 2-0 with only 10 men for most of the game. We also thrashed the scum 5-1 of course.

Now to beat some small time outfit from Fulham, who apparently hate us. I wonder if they have sold all their tickets yet?

Stalteri loaned out

Stalteri has joined Fulham on loan until the end of the season. I doubt we shall see him in a Spurs shirt again as we now have Chimbonda, Hutton, Gunter and Lee who can all play the in the right back position.

Stalteri will always be remembered for sinking West Ham in the 95th minute. What a game that was - I was there and it was fantastic to see Paul slip the ball into the net.

Gilberto's rather long transfer has been completed tonight. Excellent sources on COYS and SO reckon the signing is done. The medical stuff from earlier was used to either reduce the fee or shorten the contract he wanted, or so the rumors say lol - could be rubbish of course.

Defoe agrees to go

It looks like Jermaine Defoe has realised that he unfortunately has no future at Spurs after we accepted a bid of around £10 million earlier today from Portsmouth. Reliable sources on FTL thought he would stay earlier today but he knows he will be the main man at Portsmouth, something he won't be at Spurs.

Our immediate problem is being left with only two fit strikers and Bent has hardly been setting the world on fire. In fact Bent has been abysmal and if Berbs or Keane get injured we could find it difficult.

Woodgate Complete

As rumored all week and confirmed by ITKs yesterday Woodgae has officially signed for Spurs. A rumored third club became involved today, apparently Ar5ena1 but Wenger denies this. He probably failed to see him.

Woodgate joins the highest earners at Spurs such as Robbie Keane and Berbatov and will also have additional bonuses paid for various achievements. I hope some of these are appearence based as he has had his fair share of injuries to contend with in the past few years. He also sensibly turned down Newcastle who appear to be going nowhere and now has odious toad Dennis Wise to further stir things up for the biggest club in Newcastle.

Woodgate is eligible for the UEFA cup and will definetly be fit for Saturday, if not Wednesday.
