well im far from wisconsin right now, back in southern california and at 10:20pm at nights it is about 80 degrees, i would almost take freezing weather condidtions over this.
not going to post this summer except for once and a while to keep it active.

today was so long! i got up at 530 am so i could be outside ready to go at 6 am! we began setting up then! there were 1000 high school students from all over the state competing for state champion in 17 different speaking events... last night i judged the congress rounds which were interesting to say the least. to day i did errands and all sorts of other things. i really love being on the speech team because it is made up of so many wonderful people. it is also so nice to part of a community like forensics were everybody jsut gets along! it took voer 12 hours to complete the day but now im in my and showered. im exhausted but it was so much fun!

flip-flop season again

the snow is gone, the snow has melted, i could do a sing and dance. its a sunny 47degrees! im really happy! school is almost over and there is a lot to do, roughly 4 papers, 3 finals, a forensics tournament, an expo and packing! its been a great year!
today we are catching up on some gilmore girls and enjoying being comfy in our chairs, i think i shall go outside for a while and maybe hit up the gym!

winter has come again

ok so this is getting sad and old. its cold again and it snowed yesterday luckily it all melted but still i want sunshine!!!!
for phonathon party yesterday there was a drawing for a custom bike designed and made by the college president; and i won im super excited about it and cant wait till the fall when i can ride it all over ripon!!!!!

well its been a while but i have been really busy with school work and work in general. the snow has finally melted and i couldnt be happier! this weekend we went for walks and flew kites on the practices fields. my friend tore hers so she had to fly my kite instead but it was still fun! we only have 1 month left and though i love being here it will be nice to go home and see my family and friends for the summer!!

i love the sunshine! but i miss ripon. life at home is rather dull compared to ripon.
we went hiking this morning because it supposed to rain tommorrow! it was really pretty today but there were snakes so we had to turn around. the joys of living by the beach but also in a desert! cant wait to see my roommates on sunday

well im just about to leave nebraska from the district 4 national qualifying tournament for speech team. it was so much fun! it was an incredibly long weekend and i didnt qualify any of my events but thats ok becasuse i learned so much this year and have so many good ideas for next year. i love hanging out with my team we always have so much fun and there are always interesting stories to tell. we have two memebers of our team going to nationals in texas which is awesome!!!!
im now at the hotel by the omaha airport getting ready to go to the airport so i can go home. i miss my roommmates but im so excited to see my parents and my puppy!! and its warm at home, actually its in the 40's today here but its 70 at home!!

a truly magnificent weekend

i love weekends where there is so much to do but i still have so much fun. friday night we saw the play down at rodman, it was long but really interesting and really good. then patty and i watched some gilmore girls.
i had practice all morning on saturday and i did some homework. it was a beautiful 25degrees so patty and i had some coffee vox and explored downtown. i love life here its totally different than the hustle of living in the suburbs of san diego. everyone is amazingly friendly i just love it.
OMG movies are only $5.50 here, at home its $10. it was great
today is homework day and i have so more practice!

from current students to graduates of 1955

last night was so much fun, i went with the alumni office to a hotel in milwaukee for an enriching lives, educating students event. there were alums from 1955 all the way until 2007. it was so much fun to meet alums from every generation and learn their ripon story. each persons story is so differnt.
i also love the staff we had a great time both at the event and in the car there and back. we learned lovely laffy taffy jokes from my boss eric and just laughed the whole time.
today tommorrow saturday and sunday are going to be a mix of craziness and fun. i have 3 practices today we have to get ready for our big tournament this next weekend!!! i have to write an english paper on langston huges, a politics paper on immigration, study for a politics, history and possibly a latin midterm.
but my friend patty and i are going to downtown saturday to eat ice cream and do some shopping. and on saturday night we are going to build a fort so she can stay over b/c my roommmate is in NY for the weekend!

well i have one week to get ready for my new speech, it seems like no time at all but i have so many meetings with my coaches that i know it will be fun when we go to nebraska next week! i dont have to work as much this week, but i am going with the alumni office to milwaukee tommorrow which will also be fun.
last night i wrote a history paper about the new deal, i love writing for that class because i learn more about history when i have to do research for the paper, it also helps me study for next weeks midterm.

Lots of stuff had to be done this week for the admission office, we have twenty students coming to visit tommorrow on top of saturday being scholarship days! but the most exciting part of all of this is the my mommy is coming tommorrow night and staying till sunday! i cant wait to see what she thinks the weather that isnt 60 degrees! nothing else exciting going on, my roommates and i are going to a service for those who lost their lives at NIU on valentines day, it should be a nice time. its almost dinner, im off to watch i love lucy with my roommates

hi, my name is Sara Sisco and i am a freshman at Ripon College. what will surprise you is that i have moved to Ripon Wisconsin from Encinitas California, a suburb of San Diego. YES!!! i know its a huge move but thats ok because, well simply put Ripon is an amazing place! my roommates are awesome people (all from wisconsin, so they love to laugh at me when im cold) and my classes are even better than i thought that they would be. i havent mentioned my major, but its politics and government! so you want to debate the issues, i would love to. i love anything to do with politics and the world as a whole. i am on the speech team which is a bunch of fun and i will update about that a bunch. i work in the admissions office as a tour guide and a visit coordinator and then in the alumni office calling alumni about donating money to our awesome college. ok probably one of the biggest adjustments was the weather, and let me tell you its cold, so if you love wearing your flip-flop about 360 days a year you will hate the weather but if you want change then come to ripon. though it isnt snowing right now there is probably almost 2 feet on the ground and its bitter cold but you get used to it. ok well i probably should go be a stellar student and do my homework!
