So, like I mentioned last week, I'm going to try to have a new painting up for sale everyweek. This will keep me painting like a mad man, keep me experimenting and give people to send in requests and see if I listen.
First one up is this little number. I switched it up and all the corners are rounded on the standard 2" deep frame. PLUS this guys got lots of resin on top. Hope you enjoy.

We headed down to Maple Canyon today, to do some hiking, climbing, exploring and to just get away from the heat. That place was amazing. Its funny, cuz the whole way we were driving there we kept on asking where the heck are we going, all we saw was all these different little pleasantvilles and farm land, then all of a sudden, we turn off the road onto this little dirt road and we are in a whole new terrain.
- Found some caves
- Explored them
- Taylor climbed a huge 5-10 on his first time climbing outside
- Got to work on my lead climbing
- Zoe killed it
- Went on a sweet hike
- It rained
- It was sunny
- What a great way to spend the Sunday

Boating

I hate chlorine water
Period
And living 737 miles away from the ocean makes it a little difficult to avoid it, especially when its about 100° out. Not that pools are awful, I just would rather be in the ocean or a sweet little river. So when we went to the lake today boy oh boy did it feel good. Nothing like clean fresh water.

Him and his boat were heading up to the East Canyon State Park.
The kid and I tagged along.
So glad we did.
Surfed. Yup. In Utah.
Got our bronze on.
Enjoyed the Vitamin D without sweating to death.

Super bummed I can't make it to this, this weekend. These guys are killing it right now! Their new album is amazing, and even though I'm a little bummed I didn't get to do the cover art, it really couldn't have been done any better then the one and only Geoff McFetridge. Maybe one day I'll be at that level.
You should definitely get a copy and watch the bonus video about how they met Ray Barbee, its pretty zweet.

Summer has officially arrived and I think I might die of over heating. My gameplan, stay inside til about 6:00 then enjoy the amazing afternoon til it gets dark around 9:30.

I want to thank everyone who bought paintings over the weekend. I've been getting hit up a lot. Which got me thinking, I'm gonna try to have a new painting up here on the blog once a week. Thats my goal at least.

This weekend was amazing, got to catch up with a ton of old friends and just relax. Taylor is out here for the summer, so lots of fun trips will be taking place really soon. Super stoked to have him out here and get him off of the streets... punk kids.
Now that hes here, we've been skating and riding bikes pretty much everyday. Today, Noah got his first bike so the video above is from tonight when we road to the skatepark.
The kid is hyped to say the least.

So, I haven't really slept in days, so this will probably come off way worse then normal.
More spelling mistakes
So many more grammatical errors and so on.

Not really sure why. This happens from time to time and I'm always trying to figure out why but I never can tell. Its never a horrible thing though, I seem to have some pretty fun thoughts and experiments and art projects that sometimes are great other times just really out there.
Anyways, I finally got around to watching GONZO. So hyped zBruns convinced me that Netflix is the way to go. Movies for days, in DVD form and in streaming to the computer form. So Great.
So not this Gonz but this Gonzo. Aka Hunter S. Thompson.
I've always loved the whole story on Hunter. Really intrigued me. Maybe its just the whole Anti Establishment thing.
I think maybe I just always wish I was born in the 50's so then in the 60's and 70's I could have been right in the thick of everything amazing.

Its funny though, I've always loved Ralph Steadman, he was the amazing illustrator/artist behind all the Hunter stories. In highschool, my art teacher turned me on to his stuff and I always try to mimic it. Its funny cuz back then I had no idea the stories behind his illustrations. I just figured he was some evil psycho art guy, like most of them.
So in the documentary it was cool to see this little sub story about Steadman, here him relay his story of Hunter and see his whole setup.

I had some French friends in town all weekend, and now I'm hyped on learning French. I've always had the desire and over the years people around me have made attempts and now its time I really dive into it.
One more thing to add to my to do list.

Yvon Chouinard is one of the most amazing individuals and this is an amazing little tribute to trip that him and Doug Tompkins took almost 40 years ago.
