NCHAR column, database will pad spaces to the passed data to make it fixed length.Suppose your column is &lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;'&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;name NCHAR(30)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;', and you inserted "itzerp", then database will pad
