The market remains challenging although there are some positive signs of improvement. Viewings are still a little low however most activity is from seriously minded purchasers. It is important that asking prices remain realistic, to that end our sellers are realistic in there expectations and where necessarily have reviewed price accordingly. Our March 2008 sales figures were an improvement on last years, so yes there is activity.

Confidence is the key ingredient in securing a sale and this has obviously been knocked by negative press over the last few months.

Easter Egg Competition

Our Sleaford Office would like to congratulate the winners of our recent Easter Egg Competition.

Children from the age groups 5 and under, 6-8 years, and 9-11 years were invited to decorate or paint a hardboiled egg, to get the chance to win Family Cinema Tickets, £50 for their school and a Thorntons Easter Egg. Every entrant received a crème egg as a special thank you for their hard work.

Our own Celebrity Mr Ian Shaw

At a recent National Estate Agents conference Ian Shaw was selected to participate in a Never mind the Buzzcocks/Question of sport style quiz. Despite his attempts at singing Satisfaction he was fortunate enough, not necessarily through his own talent, but due to the competition, to win a IPOD NANO. This was two months ago and being the diligent surveyor he is working through his CD collection alphabetically and is currently on letter 'G' for Genesis........he will not sync them to the IPOD untill he has got to Z, we are hoping he will get to do this before the guarantee expires. The quiz was hosted by Rob Brydon who also presented Ian with his prize and although the quiz was fast moving both Ian and Rob found the time to compare bald spots.

Well done Ed Jepson on recently passing the National Association of Estate Agents - Technical Award. Ed's studies included Estate Agency Law and Practice, Building Construction and Pathology, Health and Safety and Property Appraisal. Ed was "Over the Moon" to obtain letters after his name. Good Luck to Tracy Lewis on her next exam on the 27th Feb 2008. As a company many staff are undergoing further studies as part of their professional development.

Christmas Market 2007

Escritt Barrell Golding recently connected with the Grantham Public with a pitch at Grantham Market. Mince Pies and Mulled Wine were given to clients, past, present and future and competitions were held which raised money for Cancer research. Despite adverse weather we had a successful time and will be again hitting the market later in the year to again connect with the public. Many thanks to everyone who visited.

Great fun was had raising money with a sponsored three legged race around Grantham. Together with support from some other agents we raised £500 for a very worthy charity. The David Bedford lookalikes Martyn Wand and Ed Jepson proved a hit around town together with schoolgirls !!! Andrea Buckley and Louise Allison. Thank you to all of Grantham for your donations and support.
