Wow...strong words from Gov. Palin last night. Talk about holding her own. However, she's still new to the national scene, so there's still the "new puppy" excitement factor...

She's proved to me that she can be a vice president...I have a feeling that when she "hands it" to Biden in the debate, I'll be replacing the Bob Barr banner with a McCain/Palin banner...

...but not quite yet.

Still though, some comments that stood out in her speech:

-the one about the stryrofoam columns behind obama during his speech.
-of course, the pit bull/hockey mom joke.
-the difference between a mayor and a community organizer.

just to name a few...

...and Rudy was a great warm up act. they both used the democrats own words against them, which I believe, is totally effective.

Oh yeah...Obama is stepping into the "no spin zone" tonight. Gee.... what a coincidence...the far left crowd has gotta be hating that since Obama followed Edwards in boycotting the Fox debate during the primary. this might be Obama's chance to put it away.

At any rate, with all these dramatic, historical moments happening in our country, I think one party is going to win big or lose big. It's not going to be close come election time. ...but right now, it's up in the air.

Good Argument For Palin

Pat Buckhannon wrote a pretty good article for McCain's VP pick. Interesting how he notes that she has more executive experience than all three put together, how she has more constituents than Nancy Pelosi, and how although she lacks foreign policy experience, she governs a state that is situated between Russia and Canada.

The morning crew on MSNBC got into a heated debate yesterday in considering the McCain-Palin view versus the Obama-Biden view on abortion. Scarborough argued that the right wing argument on the subject has gotten distorted into a pro-life versus pro-choice, black and white issue. That in actuality, it's a federal versus state issue. In other words, McCain-Palin favor that the decision be left up to individual states as opposed to a federal ban.

That's a tough one. I'm staying out of that. I report, you decide.

Another argument the right wingers have been making is that Obama chose Biden based on his foreign policy experience. However, Biden opposed the first Iraq war, initially supported the second one, and opposed the surge.

P-Diddy, is now forced to fly commercial due to the high oil prices. Can you believe that? I guess a private jet cost him $200,000 before. Now, it's just totally unacceptable.

She's like, hot, right? Sources tell me that she was a beauty queen at one time. She smoked AND inhaled when it was legal. Pro-life. Husband works on the North Slope.

She's hot, right? I mean, am I crazy?

I want to see her debate Joe Biden.

If anybody has any additional info on her, please comment. You know, like if she gives tax breaks to corporations that club baby seals or what not.

Anti-Obama Ad

If someone would kindly comment on any inaccuracies of this ad, it would be greatly appreciated by me. It would also set my mind at ease a bit. Several stations, including Fox News, has refused to run this ad, for the time being. (This ad was put out by the non-profit group, American Issues Project.)

This is an article about how Obama is trying to get this ad removed altogether.

Yet again, Obama doesn't address any of the direct affiliations with Ayers later in his life. That's the part that concerns me.

Smoking in Harrison County WV is banned in public places starting Jan 1, 2009.

(CLarksburg Exponent) "Some Harrison County bar and restaurant owners say the 100 percent smoking ban that goes into effect Jan. 1 will be detrimental to their businesses and difficult to enforce.

The Harrison-Clarksburg Board of Health passed the Clean Indoor Air Regulation on Wednesday after more than two years of debate. The only places in the county exempt from the ban are bingo halls that distribute more than 100 cards, up to 25 percent of hotel rooms and private residences."

Personally, I love playing gigs in non-smoking establishments, but, this is a prime example of more government equals less freedom. I was talking to a buddy of mine and she's like, "...you know, people need the government to step in and tell them what's right. People are out of control."

Obama Picks Biden

This may surprise you guys, but I actually like Sen. Biden. He says crazy things some times, but hey, don't we all. He's not hung up on being politically correct.

Out of all the people on Obama's short list, to me, Biden is the one most likely to shake things up. Of course, it may not be the safest move politically, but who knows.

Tough. It's over. She won. They know who the big players are before they compete. They could've checked it out before hand. Don't wait until after they win. If she came in 4th, nobody would care.

This is why noone cares about Track & Field anymore. Corruption with the drug enhancements...years later, athletes are stripped of their medals. No one cares years later. Doesn't mean anything anymore.

If it's such a big deal, maybe the preparation on the part of the IOC leading up to the games should be better. Otherwise, people are going to stop watching.

Obama is on the cover of Time Magazine again...this makes 7 times in a year...let's see, that means 58% of their covers this year have been dedicated to Obama. Can we be a little more blatant? It's getting to the point that we're being force-fed. But then again, that's socialism isn't it? Not quite, but it may be a preview of things to come.

MSNBC has moved farther to the left with the addition of Rachel Maddow.

The democrats are trying to make an issue out of the fact that John McCain couldn't remember how many houses he has. Trying to get back at the republicans for doing the same thing to John Kerry.

This is a non-issue. John McCain is a republican. He's supposed to be rich. Democrats aren't. According to their current model, everyone should live equally. So trying to play the hypocrisy
card is not going to work.

Of course...I could be wrong. It definitely wouldn't be the first time.

First they voted to give Bush authority to go to war. Then when they didn't like what happened, they claimed "they were lied to."

Then they didn't have any answers to the conflict...solution?....Global Warming and crappy healthcare...you know....tug at the heartstrings.

All I ask is that we get leaders that make tough decisions and either stand by what they decide or acknowledge when mistakes are made and change strategy. Actually, at this point, they don't even have to acknowledge their mistakes. Just man up and get the job done. Seven years later, and democrats are still playing the blame game. Every speech, by every democrat, includes the phrase "this administration's failed policies."

Ugh... These guys are "Bush League"...no pun intended.

Fairness Doctrine...Not Just For Limbaugh Anymore

The democrats are all about bringing the Fairness Doctrine back. However, this article illustrates how they may think twice about reinstating it.

The Fairness Doctrine is all about providing equal time, but broadcasters don't want to deal with that, and besides, if people don't want to listen, they won't listen, thus, they won't make money. Look at Air America or the government funded NPR.

No doubt that conservatives dominate talk radio, but liberals have gained so much ground utilizing the internet. In their effort to get rid of Rush Limbaugh, they may think twice about pursuing this. We'll see.

It seems to me like the left wing of this country wants more government control over the air waves, but absolutely no government control over the internet. Why wouldn't they?

The Olympics

I'm really into the Olympics this year. I don't know why, but I love checking out the lesser known sports and of course soccer.

I saw a little handball this morning...some fencing (we swept that,) badmitton, water polo...

The opening ceremony was amazing...and ominous at the same time. 15,000 performers, all moving in perfect synchronization. Whatever message China was trying send to the rest of the world...it worked....Message received.

No Limit For Control

Sen. Obama has said that he's willing to allow offshore drilling in Florida. Sen. John Kerry acknowledged offshore drilling and maybe even nuclear power on "Meet The Press" yesterday.

I have a feeling the democrats are coming around, but with them on vacation without allowing a vote on the issue makes me think they'll come around AFTER Obama and the rest are elected. Then, they'll be able to implement control over the oil companies...in other words, they want to "nationalize" our energy.

Until then, it's stall time.

McCain launched attacks at Obama for not visiting the troops while in Germany. Instead, Obama chose not to "politicize" the troops, but McCain said that not visiting the troops showed a lack of "understanding." But then, Obama said that he visited the troops at Walter Reed a couple of weeks ago and that nobody knew about it...until he mentioned it the other day, after McCain's attack.

I'm glad we're not politicizing the troops.

My electoral dysfunction is getting worse. Remedy? Take one Bob Barr daily.

You may not have heard, but Barack Obama is touring the middle east this week. It's not being widely reported though, because the media obviously wants McCain to be the next president.
