I wonder what’s wrong with me. Anyway, this is one of those post that lying around in my draft box for ages, guess it’s time to publish now.<br /><br />Well, Chai Leng Park is a place where you can see lots of people, people are busy buying food from the market in the morning, or at night busy looking for food to fill up their stomach.<br /><br />Whenever am home, if mom decided not to cook. We’ll just hop into any of the coffee shop that have one of those ‘Chu Char’ (<span style="font-size:130%;">煮炒</span>). Nothing fantastic, but honestly it’s kind of convenient for those people that staying surrounding this area.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131779600973695746" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze-W5WiCwI/AAAAAAAABrI/JLKF13eckhk/s400/2007_09_26+Swee+Leong+CLP+Picture+006.jpg" border="0" />That night, we have one curry fish head. Nothing to shout about, it wasn’t spicy nor aromatic scented.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131779583793826530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze-V5WiCuI/AAAAAAAABq4/RRVDWoeg8vA/s400/2007_09_26+Swee+Leong+CLP+Picture+004.jpg" border="0" />A plate of stir fry vegetables. Simple, yet full of ‘wok hei’ (<span style="font-size:130%;">鑊氣</span>).<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131778222289193666" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze9GpWiCsI/AAAAAAAABqo/6HdPr786w4U/s400/2007_09_26+Swee+Leong+CLP+Picture+002.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131778213699259058" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze9GJWiCrI/AAAAAAAABqg/RIhz3FoN7l8/s400/2007_09_26+Swee+Leong+CLP+Picture+001.jpg" border="0" />A plate of paddy frogs stirs fry with spring onion and gingers (<span style="font-size:130%;">薑蔥田雞</span>). This is honestly thumbed up for this dish. It’s tasty, it’s good!!<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131778235174095570" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze9HZWiCtI/AAAAAAAABqw/e8C-JKdrCXY/s400/2007_09_26+Swee+Leong+CLP+Picture+003.jpg" border="0" />And, a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinness">Guinness Stout</a> Pork Ribs (<span style="font-size:130%;">黑啤排骨</span>). Not many can make this dish as tasty as this. I’ve been trying many places that offer Guinness Stout ribs or chicken. But none of those places that could cook such a good one like this.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131780417017482002" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze_GZWiCxI/AAAAAAAABrQ/24xZxSnYpVc/s400/2007_09_26+Swee+Leong+CLP+Picture+007.jpg" border="0" />In fact, apart from the curry fish head, majority of the food that we’ve ordered for the night, isn’t that bad at all. As for the damage, honestly can’t recall… cuz, this was way some time ago.New Kid on the Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07140629048437210886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8209805071205880510.post-63386299329728704932008-07-15T20:49:00.001+08:002008-07-15T20:49:21.340+08:00Tiger Koay Teow Th'ng 亞虎粿條湯<a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SHsKZCpCSJI/AAAAAAAADSM/sd0nTSGGnCA/s1600-h/Picture+017.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5222779618188216466" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SHsKZCpCSJI/AAAAAAAADSM/sd0nTSGGnCA/s400/Picture+017.jpg" border="0" /></a>You know it’s kind of frustrating when you need to eat something yet you do not know what to have, and if you have the money of course, you will lavishly spend on it, otherwise, you will be thinking what to eat, what to eat.<br /><br />Anyway, we were running out of idea what to have for breakfast one of the weekends, and also wonder where to go for breakfast, or where to have breakfast which is nearer to the destination where you need to run some errands. And you know why were we so particular on that, reason is very simple,… that’s due to fuel hike which we both don’t want to travel unnecessary.<br /><br />If this happened to those days, we’ll have breakfast in one end and run errands on the other end of the island. Well, those lavish and luxury days no more exist, anymore.<br /><br />Well, let’s not bog down by these negativities that will spoil our appetite.<br /><br />Those living in Georgetown (which recently has inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage list) will know this stall used to be in Kimberly Street. And I heard they also have another stall which operates at night in Farlim one of the resident area too.<br /><br />Anyway, this stall is located at the end of Carnavon Street, and it’s actually located in one of the shop which is triangle in shape. This shop used to be wholesale cutleries and plates, but now has turned into a coffee shop. To be more specific, this stall is located opposite the police station and diagonal opposite a wet market.<br /><br />Ok, now back to the main attraction – Koay Teow Th’ng.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5222784704377425138" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SHsPBGLCjPI/AAAAAAAADSU/_oPHLDCvLE4/s400/Picture+014.jpg" border="0" />Look at the bowl of Koay Teow Th’ng, didn’t it get you drooling over and bite it and get it swallow?? Hehehehe… that’s very bad of me, huh?<br /><br />Anyway, we waited almost an hour just to have a bowl of this. Cuz, I can tell you their customers base is really huge and I could see many level of people patronize this place for breakfast, even a white collar, blue collar, uncles, aunties and etc.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5223221303638868210" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SHycGhKlwPI/AAAAAAAADSc/BUXRJ6VrifY/s400/Picture+016.jpg" border="0" />It’s hard to find any stalls right now that give intestines. After I noticed they have moved, I realized I have a post on them has yet to publish.<br /><br />This post is kind of long enough, this was taken sometime in December last year where we do not know what to take for dinner, and we drove all the way to Tanjong Tokong for Nyonya food.<br /><br />In fact, we ordered quite a lot of dishes the other day and I can’t recall how much we pay for it too.<br /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139913811034920162" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/R1SkYPLcVOI/AAAAAAAAB0Q/G-6RswuuB-8/s400/2007_12_1+Hot+Wok+Picture+045.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139915331453343074" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/R1SlwvLcVWI/AAAAAAAAB1Q/KudkoNgQMXg/s400/2007_12_1+Hot+Wok+Picture+053.jpg" border="0" />We ordered a tom yam soup, of which I don’t understand why we order tom yam soup in a Nyonya restaurant. First taste was ok to me and this is something different. But after a few bites, I think I prefer those authentic Curry Tumis.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139915314273473858" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/R1SlvvLcVUI/AAAAAAAAB1A/mykyAQLBM7o/s400/2007_12_1+Hot+Wok+Picture+051.jpg" border="0" />When you’re into Nyonya restaurant, you wouldn’t want to miss their ‘Tau Yiu Bak’ (Dark Soya Sauce Meat). I personally have not, and not even know there’s such pizza till I re-visit Chicago Rib House on June 21.<br /><br />When my family scan thru what they want to order for themselves, my brother-in-law and I were filtering thru the menu and wonder what to order. The last time we came was on <a href="http://mylovemyfood.blogspot.com/2008/05/mothers-day-dinner-chicago-rib-house.html">Mother’s Day</a>, and have had some pork ribs that were recommended by their outlet manager.<br /><br />So, this round we are going to have something different, other than those normal stuff that we had order.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217906438839732562" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGm6Qq5ECVI/AAAAAAAADRE/Q-50TBsFtGU/s400/2008_06_21+Chicago+Ribs+Picture+083.jpg" border="0" />I have myself a Hawaiian Chicken Pizza, though this is kind of normal among the others, but taste wise I can say it’s some how better than Pizza Hut. But, I realized they put lots of onions on it.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217905912711383570" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGm5yC6SihI/AAAAAAAADQ0/CWyFevahHqA/s400/2008_06_21+Chicago+Ribs+Picture+080.jpg" border="0" />Hubby got himself a BBQ Pork Chop. I was kind of sceptical when he ordered that. But, to my surprise, it was so delicious. The meat was tender too.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217905902025343202" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGm5xbGigOI/AAAAAAAADQk/z0DlOduaGPA/s400/2008_06_21+Chicago+Ribs+Picture+076.jpg" border="0" />And, sis ordered a deep fried mushroom as a starter for everyone to munch. To our surprise, the mushroom is not just filled with batter, but, it’s tasty too. It comes with a bowl of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mustard_(condiment)">English mustard</a>, which is completely nice to accommodate with these mushrooms.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217905905983100994" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGm5xp2JGEI/AAAAAAAADQs/94-pL3zDSZI/s400/2008_06_21+Chicago+Ribs+Picture+077.jpg" border="0" />Another sis of mine, have herself a BBQ Chicken. However, am going to post something simple and short for this weekend.<br /><br />One of mom’s best foods is her way of cooking baby octopus. This dish could actually get an order from her sisters from other states.<br /><br />Though I am not really a fan of baby octopus, but honestly, with her style of cooking, this is really the best.<br /><br />Many restaurants will have the baby octopus boiled or steamed. But mom’s version of cooking baby octopus is stir fried with chillies paste and curry leaves.<br /><br />First she’ll stir fry the chillies paste till fragrant, and also the curry leaves. Then only add the baby octopus to the wok.<br /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219468082850067042" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SG9GkULEcmI/AAAAAAAADRU/1CnPN8a3SfY/s400/2008_04_23+Home+Cook+Food+Picture+013.jpg" border="0" />She said needless to stir fry for a long time, but till it’s cooked. This is best to eat with steam rice.<br /><br /><div></div>New Kid on the Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07140629048437210886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8209805071205880510.post-32343144640631940962008-07-01T09:23:00.000+08:002008-07-01T09:25:01.326+08:00Day 2 Breakfast at The Taste, Westin Langkawi<a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGIPMKoyG-I/AAAAAAAADPU/R-Qvkbd3peI/s1600-h/Picture+344.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215748020136713186" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGIPMKoyG-I/AAAAAAAADPU/R-Qvkbd3peI/s400/Picture+344.jpg" border="0" /></a>This is our day 2 breakfast in Westin Langkawi, and it’s also the last breakfast that we are going to have it here.<br /><br />Don’t know am I missing home or I am missing <a href="http://mylovemyfood.blogspot.com/2007/12/feast-village-pangkor-laut-resort.html">Pangkor Laut Resort</a>, the feeling that am having down here, is so much different from what I had in Pangkor Laut Resort. I can still remember that vividly.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215748036266605490" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGIPNGucu7I/AAAAAAAADPk/Vn2npmF02uQ/s400/Picture+346.jpg" border="0" />Oh yes, have anyone come across buffet breakfast serves sparking wine? Well, I personally have not come across, in fact, this is the first hotel that I ever discovered. Surprise to see that, huh?<br /><br />Again, we didn’t have much for day 2. We took something that could fill up our stomach then after we proceed to check out.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215748555528834098" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGIPrVINjDI/AAAAAAAADP0/5VAvQTwTDy8/s400/Picture+350.jpg" border="0" />Since day 1 I didn’t have porridge for breakfast, I had one bowl for that day morning. Of course, all these can’t compared with our home cook porridge, however, it isn’t that bad with our own adds on like salted egg, spring onions, sesame oil and so on.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215748567351765378" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGIPsBLBKYI/AAAAAAAADP8/M-tzEysbJ5M/s400/Picture+353.jpg" border="0" />After that, I had a sunny upside egg, with chicken sausages, baked beans and potato. The potato isn’t taste nice at all… and the colour is some kind of weird to me. Or was I adventurous enough to get one to try on, huh? [LOL]<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215748028762611218" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGIPMqxW3hI/AAAAAAAADPc/7yFwWLhVZbM/s400/Picture+345.jpg" border="0" />Croissant is always hubby’s favourite. He’ll never give it a miss.<br /><br />In fact the buffet in Westin is the same, there’s no change on those things that they served. Thus, hubby didn’t really into this buffet in fact.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215748910566015666" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGIP__vrArI/AAAAAAAADQE/gsqf210-cu0/s400/Picture+355.jpg" border="0" />He got himself a Roti Canai, and he was commenting that he could make better than this. In fact, when we sign in for the Dream Holiday Package in Westin, it comes with 2 complimentary breakfast as well as 1 buffet dinner for 2.<br /><br />So, here it is the complimentary buffet dinner that we are going for.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215679703456075970" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHRDnK20MI/AAAAAAAADO4/FfYfFq99VCg/s400/Picture+341.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215679707444287874" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHRD2BuGYI/AAAAAAAADPA/5SYCKvNnf8s/s400/Picture+342.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215679713221206738" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHRELjC4tI/AAAAAAAADPI/Fzww_G_h2oo/s400/Picture+343.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215674567374569938" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHMYpxmgdI/AAAAAAAADMQ/ux3wd5DD6q4/s400/Picture+309.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215658101014507778" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGG9aLzbsQI/AAAAAAAADLA/fWwGyo37wpk/s400/Picture+302.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215658055829774514" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGG9XjejYLI/AAAAAAAADK4/X7y1PqULa60/s400/Picture+301.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215674570118513170" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHMYz_zwhI/AAAAAAAADMY/k7tfmwZHPCc/s400/Picture+310.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215658054262390434" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGG9Xdo2_qI/AAAAAAAADKw/AtBJAOL9AxA/s400/Picture+300.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215658517020825010" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGG9yZjEVbI/AAAAAAAADLY/imnhO_4gUk4/s400/Picture+305.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215658508310157538" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGG9x5GSGOI/AAAAAAAADLQ/rY_h8BAj9_M/s400/Picture+304.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215658504128369810" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGG9xphRFJI/AAAAAAAADLI/UWtq32OayHY/s400/Picture+303.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215673818956624226" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHLtFs28WI/AAAAAAAADMA/IsKoXAgvdEY/s400/Picture+307.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215673849232268738" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHLu2fIncI/AAAAAAAADMI/-HD0e4Z6-nM/s400/Picture+308.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215673813196272690" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHLswPe9DI/AAAAAAAADL4/yJ0Qz8rtmqM/s400/Picture+306.jpg" border="0" />Do you realize, I kept taking the desserts pictures?? The desserts really really caught my attention. It’s colourful, and it looks delicious. If you have a sweet tooth, you wouldn’t want to miss anything out of it. Look at the chocolate fondue! Too bad, they don’t have many fruits to dip into it, what they offered is marshmallow and butter cakes. If you have dined in Spies Garden in Rasa Sayang, you would definitely compare this and that.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215676751928000146" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHOXz3ufpI/AAAAAAAADNI/eDwNN3J9e34/s400/Picture+316.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215676760970257842" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHOYVjkZbI/AAAAAAAADNQ/oORnmSvF9Fs/s400/Picture+317.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215675435587402434" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHNLMHq-sI/AAAAAAAADM4/0XWTP9kWJtw/s400/Picture+314.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215676747939409474" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHOXlAxbkI/AAAAAAAADNA/Tb8MgMbMF_k/s400/Picture+315.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215677187512034434" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHOxKjDZII/AAAAAAAADNY/J1OyqrauEb8/s400/Picture+318.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217132540904126482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGb6Z4a4uBI/AAAAAAAADQc/dMdryaaMvzI/s400/Picture+319.jpg" border="0" />Here are the seafood section, where they have flower crabs, prawns, mussels. All these are got to accommodate with these sauces, pickles, lemons and so on.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215674573828328610" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHMZB0TDKI/AAAAAAAADMg/d6K6zBP2GxU/s400/Picture+312.jpg" border="0" />The ice cream area where mostly children will eye on it. Look at the ice cream cone, isn’t it creative?<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215675416270847010" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHNKEKPvCI/AAAAAAAADMw/uXDwPkLzaUk/s400/Picture+313.jpg" border="0" />I realize one thing, I don’t see papaya in their fruits choices. What they offered is basically honeydew, dragon fruit, pineapple, watermelon and pamelo.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215677194905225314" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHOxmFuiGI/AAAAAAAADNg/-cr1lA37cIs/s400/Picture+320.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215678749708374466" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHQMGLr0cI/AAAAAAAADOw/qVA2_E1mMNo/s400/Picture+339.jpg" border="0" />For the hot dishes counter, you will see a corner on noodles. That night was a beef noodle, however the soup base is chicken stock according to the hotel. Thus, I have one for myself. The taste was unexpected awful. I can’t even tell is this Penang Lor Mee or what?<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215678151639809442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHPpSNBvaI/AAAAAAAADOY/GOpNHHxSdf0/s400/Picture+332.jpg" border="0" />Hot dishes area are offering mixed vegetables, garlic prawns, coffee chicken, black beans steam fishes, etc. I didn’t quite enjoy it, that can tell from the plate that am taking.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215678747984732834" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHQL_wvIqI/AAAAAAAADOo/MX2cLntW1pI/s400/Picture+336.jpg" border="0" />However, hubby is enjoying every food that he took from the buffet line.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215678149420055666" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHPpJ7y_HI/AAAAAAAADOQ/NuPPKUMCvTs/s400/Picture+330.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215678144293997394" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHPo21pi1I/AAAAAAAADOI/SixovhbnbrA/s400/Picture+328.jpg" border="0" />Oh yes, how could I miss this out. They also have starter before the main course. And these starters are mini in size, cute and tempting. I particularly like the shred duck with green chilli, that taste good.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215677659474767730" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHPMovvL3I/AAAAAAAADNw/XB9dTV1yrYI/s400/Picture+325.jpg" border="0" />Another mini starter is cut tomato, capsicums, and other shredded meat. That taste like salsa.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215677669890145522" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHPNPi9PPI/AAAAAAAADN4/E_E3kHu03Ko/s400/Picture+326.jpg" border="0" />Chicken wrap (chicken lobak) with red chilli is something unique too.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215677670691006610" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHPNSh5aJI/AAAAAAAADOA/zrDB5CxKGSM/s400/Picture+327.jpg" border="0" />And this bean curd skin wrapped with fish meat, also another unique starter.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215677201848284290" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHOx_9FNII/AAAAAAAADNo/C9zGHvB08GM/s400/Picture+322.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215678743007663666" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SGHQLtOHFjI/AAAAAAAADOg/1XT_5NWT1xc/s400/Picture+334.jpg" border="0" />Apart from these mini starters, they also offered a variety of salads, I believe this is a must for many buffet dinner. As well as soup section. That night they have 2 types of soup, one of them is the shark fin soup. Taste wise, that can be compared with big restaurant like Overseas in Imbi Road.<br /><br />Overall, I don’t find this buffet dinner is value for money, as it costs RM98++ per person. But with this price, you could have variety of food in <a href="http://mylovemyfood.blogspot.com/2008/04/sarkies-corner-e-hotel.html">Sharkies Corner</a> of E&amp;O Hotel &amp; <a href="http://www.vkeong.com/2008/02/12/rasa-sayang-international-buffet-shangri-la-rasa-sayang-resort-spa/">Spies Garden</a> of Rasa Sayang Resort. Thus, finding food in Langkawi should not be any problem for him. We both supposed to have seafood dinner in Pantai Cenang, unfortunately I was on diet due to certain allergies that couple of days, ended up we had our dinner in Kuah town.<br /><br />Though Kuah town is a small town, but I bet when you see those seafood restaurants surrounding the town, you will be cracking your head which one to go. And this is what we found, Wonderland Food Store. When we were there, honestly, it’s almost packed of people… and I could see Bumi customers there too. I wonder is this place halal, well, I supposed they are, huh?!<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211755056028364354" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFPfnELqrkI/AAAAAAAAC40/zIB5dXLTV94/s400/Picture+105.jpg" border="0" />Told hubby I have no appetite for rice, why don’t we have something like fried noodles, thus we order this fried noodle &amp; vermicelli.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211750221640841218" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFPbNqr3OAI/AAAAAAAAC4c/C5_lrh8wS5E/s400/Picture+098.jpg" border="0" />A plate of vegetables, they called it Kai Lan (清炒芥蘭/Chinese Kale). But it doesn’t look like one.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211753207604782402" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFPd7eRJJUI/AAAAAAAAC4s/QShVUHhVYP4/s400/Picture+103.jpg" border="0" />And a plate of meat, they recommended their Black Pepper Chicken (黑胡椒雞) is one of the best. They also de-bone the chicken for us as well without us requesting it.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211756447898888818" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFPg4FTdanI/AAAAAAAAC48/a9hUzCX1FaI/s400/Picture+107.jpg" border="0" />Overall, I like their noodles but not their recommended Black Pepper Chicken though they highly recommended. The food serving time is absolutely express and also lots of 'wok hei'. A good place to recommend to friends whom visiting Langkawi; but then, one thing that got to take note, they only operate for dinner.<br /><br />Guess how much for the dinner that night? It’s only RM25-00. Cheap?<br /><br />Oh ya, if you’re ever down there, do order their crabs and prawns as well as clams. Cuz, I see lots of customers ordered that, unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to have it.</div></div>New Kid on the Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07140629048437210886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8209805071205880510.post-69239546459554976682008-06-15T17:34:00.000+08:002008-06-15T17:35:52.039+08:00The Loaf, Langkawi<a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFNQ7Dn-EhI/AAAAAAAAC4U/lDC9nlN6cPU/s1600-h/Picture+062.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211598169313251858" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFNQ7Dn-EhI/AAAAAAAAC4U/lDC9nlN6cPU/s400/Picture+062.jpg" border="0" /></a> <div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFKMbvQ3HSI/AAAAAAAAC20/xNJqwJnb4sM/s1600-h/Picture+029.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211382126992629026" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFKMbvQ3HSI/AAAAAAAAC20/xNJqwJnb4sM/s400/Picture+029.jpg" border="0" /></a> <div><div><div><em>Japanese baking has evolved over many centuries and now these delicious premium breads and pastries are available in Malaysia. Driving around in Langkawi will not be a problem for hubby as he’s been visiting Langkawi many many times. This is my 3rd visit after 8 years, I could see lots of developments in Langkawi. But, with the beautiful scenery along the way and less traffics, the drive was pretty enjoying. I could see padi fields, buffaloes, cows, goats,… the typical old time Malay kampong life style. It was so relaxing.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211596644704932610" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFNPiUBBUwI/AAAAAAAAC4E/rrfVjfOTi-g/s400/Picture+033.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211379921155664802" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFKKbV4WK6I/AAAAAAAAC2k/TidefX8HYnc/s400/Picture+035.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211596663071665250" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFNPjYb_bGI/AAAAAAAAC4M/rzRy5FV59ZU/s400/Picture+064.jpg" border="0" />When we reached Pantai Kok, lots of luxury yachts sitting along the harbours, that scene was so perfect with a cup of coffee and a slice of bread from the oven. The ambience is so good and I really have no words to describe it.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211583415843583954" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFNDgSqsd9I/AAAAAAAAC28/MlY01FT8LeA/s400/Picture+030.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211586372340579042" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFNGMYegeuI/AAAAAAAAC3E/fxW1hgqcDqo/s400/Picture+031.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211588852709627954" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFNIcwkkmDI/AAAAAAAAC3U/tPRhpj10bU4/s400/Picture+037.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211591272787368930" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFNKpoEEW-I/AAAAAAAAC3c/0cSZNdhzm10/s400/Picture+039.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211591283255015458" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFNKqPDv-CI/AAAAAAAAC3k/8VRB27qKe7A/s400/Picture+041.jpg" border="0" />Though we reached the place is rather late, but it didn’t stop us from getting our late lunch. But, they recommended their The Loaf’s Club Sandwich to hubby. The sandwich comes with slices of bread that filled with eggs, chicken and beef bacon, which accompanied by salads and tomato slices. Since we both can’t take beef, they made him more chicken meat with their special salad sauce.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211376273664388210" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFKHHB6qLHI/AAAAAAAAC2E/GFadN6EmZ1k/s400/Picture+052.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211377858659177298" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFKIjSe3U1I/AAAAAAAAC2U/XifOm1W0xQ0/s400/Picture+045.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211377852900684274" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SFKIi9B7sfI/AAAAAAAAC2M/6h3aXnW6yXQ/s400/Picture+046.jpg" border="0" />As for me, I have myself a Smoked Salmon Bagel, a few slices of smoked salmon dressed with mustard mayonnaise on salad and a sprinkle of capers over a bagel. The shop is located in Lorong Selamat, it’s one of the off road of Macalister Road.<br /><br />Along this street – Lorong Selamat, you can find lots of good food here. The famous and expensive Char Koay Teow is also selling down here. Well, this time, am not going to share anything about Char Koay Teow but Teow Chew Porridge.<br /><br />Teow Chew porridge unlike Cantonese porridge where it takes longer hour to cook, and further more, Teow Chew porridge is like those cooked rice that boiled in a water for a short while. The texture is more of like cooked rice soak in a soup, Cantonese porridge is more liquidity.<br /><br />Anyway, Teow Chew porridge must have it together with some light dishes like Salted Egg, Fried Fish and so on.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131775366135941714" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze6gZWiClI/AAAAAAAABpw/OFWAQ6IQsow/s400/2007_11_11+%E6%B8%85%E9%A6%99%E7%B2%A5+Picture+026.jpg" border="0" />What we have down here is their famous, Dark Soya Sauce Pork Meat. I don’t know why their Dark Soya Sauce Pork Meat (aka Hokkien called it “Tou Yiu Bak” <span style="font-size:130%;">豆油肉/豉油肉</span>) is so sticky, perhaps they added honey or <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malt">malt</a> (<span style="font-size:130%;">麥芽</span>). I actually quite like this.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131776577316719218" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze7m5WiCnI/AAAAAAAABqA/yjWxZpjU0rk/s400/2007_11_11+%E6%B8%85%E9%A6%99%E7%B2%A5+Picture+028.jpg" border="0" />Another dish that accomplish to this porridge is, Dried Radish Fried Egg (Hokkien called it “Chai Por” Egg <span style="font-size:130%;">蘿蔔乾</span>). <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131776581611686530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze7nJWiCoI/AAAAAAAABqI/yOgBZAsBeBI/s400/2007_11_11+%E6%B8%85%E9%A6%99%E7%B2%A5+Picture+029.jpg" border="0" />Of course, never miss <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salted_duck_egg">Salted Egg</a> (<a href="http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/鹹鴨蛋"><span style="font-size:130%;">鹹鴨蛋</span></a>).<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131775353251039810" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze6fpWiCkI/AAAAAAAABpo/TgxX-wvxcGc/s400/2007_11_11+%E6%B8%85%E9%A6%99%E7%B2%A5+Picture+025.jpg" border="0" />Hubby likes Fermented Beans Steam Fish (<span style="font-size:130%;">豆豉蒸魚</span>); down here, they deep fried the fish first then after steam with these fermented beans.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131777393360505506" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze8WZWiCqI/AAAAAAAABqY/T2y3G65r79c/s400/2007_11_11+%E6%B8%85%E9%A6%99%E7%B2%A5+Picture+031.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131777376180636306" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze8VZWiCpI/AAAAAAAABqQ/zWXOHVSmniU/s400/2007_11_11+%E6%B8%85%E9%A6%99%E7%B2%A5+Picture+030.jpg" border="0" />Another hubby’s favourite is Dark Soya Sauce Stir Fried with Roasted Pork with Chili Padi.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131775344661105202" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze6fJWiCjI/AAAAAAAABpg/jdudLm1xGZ0/s400/2007_11_11+%E6%B8%85%E9%A6%99%E7%B2%A5+Picture+024.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5131774507142482466" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/Rze5uZWiCiI/AAAAAAAABpY/R15EqXzihno/s400/2007_11_11+%E6%B8%85%E9%A6%99%E7%B2%A5+Picture+023.jpg" border="0" />With these dishes, both of us could have 2 bowls of this porridge. So, we were ambitious enough to walk in just like that.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206109082589894434" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD_QoKG0lyI/AAAAAAAAC0o/QNZFUf35sRQ/s400/2007_09_23+Juction+Picture+034.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206107343128139538" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD_PC6G0lxI/AAAAAAAAC0g/3Vlwu_5ylWk/s400/2007_09_23+Juction+Picture+033.jpg" border="0" />The surrounding was pleasant to me, and it’s full of greens and the owner had placed some bamboo chairs and wooden tables as a dining table.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206106673113241298" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD_Ob6G0ltI/AAAAAAAAC0A/BY8n4eTQfSk/s400/2007_09_23+Juction+Picture+031.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206104504154756674" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD_MdqG0lkI/AAAAAAAACy4/rsn0pKlawGY/s400/2007_09_23+Juction+Picture+017.jpg" border="0" />In fact, this place was being interviewed by Kwang Meng Press, I supposed this is consider a well recommended place.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206102227822089698" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD_KZKG0leI/AAAAAAAACyI/I9tyoqDelG0/s400/2007_09_23+Juction+Picture+011.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206102240706991618" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD_KZ6G0lgI/AAAAAAAACyY/ggX2VNul_Ns/s400/2007_09_23+Juction+Picture+013.jpg" border="0" />After viewing through their menu, we both decided to order something simple and yet could fill up our tummy.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206105315903575666" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD_NM6G0lnI/AAAAAAAACzQ/FxB8f-vJU4U/s400/2007_09_23+Juction+Picture+020.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206106179192002242" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD_N_KG0lsI/AAAAAAAACz4/jhVyXgS-Mso/s400/2007_09_23+Juction+Picture+025.jpg" border="0" />First we have their ‘Signature Tau Foo’ (招牌豆腐) which is home made.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206105328788477586" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD_NNqG0lpI/AAAAAAAACzg/xMWQERL3glY/s400/2007_09_23+Juction+Picture+022.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206106162012133026" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD_N-KG0lqI/AAAAAAAACzo/O1pZ_KOQrIw/s400/2007_09_23+Juction+Picture+023.jpg" border="0" />Sweet &amp; Sour Pork (<a title="wikt:咕" href="http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/咕">咕</a><a title="wikt:嚕" href="http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/嚕">嚕</a><a title="wikt:肉" href="http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/肉">肉</a>). Apart from bread toast, they have nasi lemak and KL curry laksa.<br /><br />I supposed this is a typical kopitiam style of business.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203496260710207826" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SDaIR6G0kVI/AAAAAAAACo4/ELNObzp2vZM/s400/2007_12_25+Picture+182.jpg" border="0" />What my family had was nasi lemak. Mom said it was pretty lemak and the curry was pretty good as well.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203497532020527474" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SDaJb6G0kXI/AAAAAAAACpI/K0D8Hg7W32o/s400/2007_12_25+Picture+184.jpg" border="0" />As for the KL style curry laksa, dad said it was very big bowl and he doesn’t advise for small eater to order a bowl. Taste wise, dad said it was just ok. Knowing him, I guess he prefers Penang curry, and not something like this.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203497527725560162" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SDaJbqG0kWI/AAAAAAAACpA/xAldgxRtrcc/s400/2007_12_25+Picture+183.jpg" border="0" />While others were enjoying those nasi lemak and curry laksa, I was having my favourite popiah. Though this is not as good as I like most in Ipoh Old Town, however, this is consider one of the good one already.<br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203496252120273218" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SDaIRaG0kUI/AAAAAAAACow/ID4iooai3zI/s400/2007_12_25+Picture+181.jpg" border="0" />Hmmm,... after 2 rolls of popiah and a cup of black coffee. This place you can find good <a href="http://www.penangfoods.com/kampung-bengali-ipoh-hor-fun/">Hor Fun</a>, <a href="http://ckae76.blogspot.com/2007/12/kampung-benggali-hokkien-mee.html">Hokkien Mee</a>, and other food.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207466790471636866" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SESjdKG0l4I/AAAAAAAAC1c/mrDStD0KWas/s400/2008_05_31+BeeSeeHeong+Picture+003.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207467301572745138" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SESj66G0l7I/AAAAAAAAC10/wlQTku9s2-Y/s400/2008_05_31+BeeSeeHeong+Picture+006.jpg" border="0" />This place is famous for their curry prawns, their deep fried fish with dark soya sauce, and many other more. Thus, with our special occasion the other day, we decided to give it a try.<br /><br />We drove all the way from one side of the island to the others just to find out how good is this place. Despite the traffic jams and the long journey, we both take it as enjoying the sceneries’ along the way. However, when we reached Feringghi area, I was very upset and sad to see it became so developed. I see lots of developments up there on the hill, eg. Moonlight Bay, Shamrock, etc…<br /><br />Anyway, let’s talk about that later in my other <a href="http://lifeballade.blogspot.com/">blog</a>.<br /><br />When we reached Feringghi Garden, I was a bit sceptical about it, cuz, it doesn’t look that nice to me. While we both were debating should we give it a try or should we go back to our favourite spot Feringghi Grill in Rasa Sayang; one of their staff came to us and direct us to their private car park.<br /><br />Hubby &amp; I were telling ourselves, let’s give it a shot, if this doesn’t up to our expectation, we’ll not come back that’s all. After all, we have nothing to lose. Thus, we drove in to their private car park, when I saw the back yard decoration; I know this is the place for our anniversary.<br /><br />I was excited taking pictures every where of this place, but hubby was busy scrutinizing their menu.<br /><br />I told him, What2See was the one that recommended this place and also recommended the garlic bread too. Without second thought, hubby ordered the mixture of their home made garlic bread and tomato bread.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5205777708683137890" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD6jPqG0k2I/AAAAAAAACtE/YjnaoUEnOY4/s400/2008_05_28+Feringghi+Garden+Bread.jpg" border="0" />It turns out to be some differences compared with lots of restaurant in the island. I believe they were slightly toasted the bread, and you would need to apply those garlic sauce and tomato sauce on the bread yourself.<br /><br /><a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD9ESKG0lKI/AAAAAAAACvk/-jZR5Wv2uT0/s1600-h/2008_05_28+Feringghi+Garden+Picture+029.jpg"></a><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5205955352825468130" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD9Ez6G0lOI/AAAAAAAACwE/H2sSfkAl9n8/s400/2008_05_28+Feringghi+Garden+Picture+030.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5205955357120435442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD9E0KG0lPI/AAAAAAAACwM/Ks3iqMug0bc/s400/2008_05_28+Feringghi+Garden+Picture+031.jpg" border="0" />I have mushroom soup for myself, where else, hubby has the mixed salad for starter.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5205955344235533522" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD9EzaG0lNI/AAAAAAAACv8/hAShC_T2Vts/s400/2008_05_28+Feringghi+Garden+Picture+029.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5205956087264875778" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD9FeqG0lQI/AAAAAAAACwU/sx1pYj1uk2o/s400/2008_05_28+Feringghi+Garden+Picture+032.jpg" border="0" />We both quite like the mushroom soup and the mixed salad that they prepared for us. He was telling us that this place has been established for 16 years and some phases were only established few months ago. For example, the place where we were just now was only 6 months old. Another corner of the restaurant is about 3 years old, things like that.<br /><a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD9Ck6G0lII/AAAAAAAACvU/3BaNL42ZkLQ/s1600-h/2008_05_28+Feringghi+Garden+Picture+033.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5205952896104174722" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SD9Ck6G0lII/AAAAAAAACvU/3BaNL42ZkLQ/s400/2008_05_28+Feringghi+Garden+Picture+033.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />This place is definitely for couple that are into courtship, cuz, the ambience is absolutely amazing and cozy. Well, where to as we were scratching our head to find a place and ended up at Colonial Restaurant at Armenian Street, diagonally opposite <a href="http://mylovemyfood.blogspot.com/2007/09/edelweiss-caf.html">Edelweiss Café</a>, the Swiss cuisine which I had published not long ago.<br /><br />Colonial restaurant is also an old dilapidated building which had since been renovated and put on a new coat of paint. The owner of this restaurant also owned and managed Fisherman Grill in Sungai Ara, Hai Beng Coffee Shop and Lor Mee at Jones Road Shop and the Kuan Yim Theng Lor Mee stall at Goddess of Mercy Temple. The food served in the restaurant are of Hainanese style, they have ala carte and set menu. The choices are not many but are enough to have a good lunch.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203950148559082322" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SDglFqG0k1I/AAAAAAAACs4/ZpzsQvkwzpo/s400/2007_11_10+Colonial+Restaurant+Picture+018.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203942782690169506" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SDgeY6G0kqI/AAAAAAAACrg/IRm9QjofETc/s400/2007_11_10+Colonial+Restaurant+Picture+007.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203939844932539026" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SDgbt6G0kpI/AAAAAAAACrY/pL0LZTEeXMA/s400/2007_11_10+Colonial+Restaurant+Picture+006.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203950139969147714" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SDglFKG0k0I/AAAAAAAACsw/4bC15yF74sc/s400/2007_11_10+Colonial+Restaurant+Picture+017.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203936786915824226" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_XWDKOuEUfu0/SDgY76G0kmI/AAAAAAAACrA/SeLpcEm1oIA/s400/2007_11_10+Colonial+Restaurant+Picture+003.jpg" border="0" />We were not too sure what is the specialties food of this restaurant, we asked the waiter and he provided a few choices.
