Styrofoam Robots

Michael Salter makes big, bad-ass robots out of the styrofoam packaging that we all throw away. This one was made for the San Jose Museum of Modern Art and stands at 22 feet tall. Surrounding the big one are a platoon of smaller murder-bots quietly waiting for the order to conquer the world.

Seeing as we've reached the 666'th post, it is only appropriate that we share with you some of the more satanic interests that are currently on offer to you the general public. Anyone into Black Metal, there is a dope streamed radio station available for your listening terror.

Peter Beste has just released a photographic journal into the lives of several True Norwegian Black Metalers, definitely worth a look. It has been released through Vice and is available in Hardback via.

Anyone familiar with VBS.TV will know that they are renowned for their high quality documentation of subcultures around the world amongst other topics. Available right now is a rare insight into Gaahl from the band Gorgoroth. Watch it here.

Finally, I have been truely hooked to Alter of Earth recently. You will find a few tunes from them here. Enjoy.

I was recommended this music artist from another highly-respected musician source known as Architeq. I was chilling with him over the weekend and we had a lengthy discussion about this new style of downbeat music that's been coming outta America and Europe recently. So far, it has escaped the pigeon-holing and is currently enjoying some anonymity still. If I had to describe it, I would say that it's all about mixing chilled electronica with the classic lazy beat and is perfect for smoking, fucking, drawing and computer work. Wait a minute, that sounds like my life story!!

Zach is Back One Day As A Lion

That's right. Zach De La Rocha, of Rage Against The Machine fame has teamed up with Jon Theodore (Mars Volta drummer) to create a new two-man band called 'One Day As A Lion"

The band writes:

“One Day As A Lion is both a warning delivered and a promise kept.”

“A defiant affirmation of the possibilities that exist in the space between kick and snare. It’s a sonic reflection of the visceral tension between a picturesque fabricated cultural landscape, and the brutal socioeconomic realities it attempts to mask. One Day As A Lion is a recorded interaction between Zack de la Rocha and Jon Theodore from Los Angeles, California.”
