Basically everyone loves the R35 GT-R! people want it more than porsche and ferrari and this is proven in forum threads accross the web.

When we pulled up, the small crowd that had gathered to gawk at the wreck turned around and looked at us... Within minutes, we had a handful of people crawling all over the distinctive Datsun. An Infiniti G37 owner stopped and jumped out of his car. A Porsche GT2 driver did the same. Teenagers sent text messages to their friends and snapped pics on their mobiles, while others took their turn in the driver's seat pretending they were living their Gran Turismo dream. We stood there stupefied that people would choose to stare at, and photograph, a Nissan over the battered aircraft in the dusty field just yards away. Little did we realize that the attention the Nissan was drawing foreshadowed our instant celebrityhood now that we held the keys to the hot new GT-R.

Autoblog takes 4 days with the beast! has few irritants or disslikes, but overall really enjoy it.

We pit the most exciting exotic and GT machines against one another, at four venues. After the lap times are tallied, who wins?

Road and track takes a buncha cars including the R35 GT-R and races them on differnt race tracks. Steve Millen on Streets of Willow, cone-defined 15-turn, 0.50-mile ProSolo course set up on the runways of the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station driven by eight-time SCCA national autocross champion Gary Thomason. again Steve Millen at Willow Springs International and lastly Roger Yasukawa driving the ovel at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

536 BHP was the last update. Since then Ben has been working with COBB Tuning and the access port and have tuned the car to 565 was 498 atw run in 4th gear over at Perfect Touch! This is not using nissans suggested 10% friction loss figures.

Next step we would like to add Amuse turbo outlets and test some more maps. We expect 600ps to be easily attainable. More updates when available

I didn't mention on here before but last week Bruno Senna (Nephew of ayrton), who currently drives in GP2 (next year to race in F1) drove our car at a track in Anglesey Wales for Fifth Gear TV. GTR vs 997 Turbo. He of course loved the GTR. Will post up this video next month when its released.

GDZILLA: Only stayed for half the day......getting too sun burned!

Early morning they did a "special run" with only those 2 GT-R's on the track. Honestly, the prepped R34 blew the socks off the Cobb R35.

It seemed like the Cobb driver was really babying the car. Lap times were in the high 1:50's That really wasn't so impressive. The Time Attack Unlimited class has a bad-ass S-2000 running 1:41. And a Crawford sponsored new-gen Subaru STI ran 1:44. Hell, there was a race prepped (old school) Honda Civic that pulled a 1:59.

Still, it was nice to see a real, live R35. And I must say that thing is pretty quiet under throttle. A lot like a Porsche Turbo.

R35LIN: i went also.

It was a special run, touge style Three laps.

First lap, R34 was leading the R35. The R34 blew past the first corner after the oval and the R34 lost that lap.

Then on the second lap, the R34 purposefully lagged behind the R35 by about 12-13 seconds, why, i have no idea. But at the end, R34 did a 1 min 49 and R35 did a 1 min 51 on the second lap. So basically the R34 won that lap(lap 2)

But then we were alll psyched for lap three when NOTHING HAPPENED!!!! soo...... technically it was a tie but i had a feeling that the R34 would have won.

After today, i WANT A R35 MORE than ever. More than after going to tokyo in January earlier this year to see them in person. Im wayyyy too hyped right now. Need to calm down. Pictures will be up in a few days.

Trey@cobb:The Live Sockets Battle was a lot of fun. The FAS R34 is definitely a very very quick machine, and Billy Johnson is an amazing driver (and a really nice guy).

To answer a few questions:
1) We pulled the rear diffuser strakes off the car during Saturday's test session because we were getting too much rubbing coming on/off the oval.
2) For the LS Battle, the drivers were told not to begin full acceleration on their laps until they crossed the Start/Finish line. Our driver, Billy Brooks, is a fantastic talent but he'll be the first to admit he's not an aggressive wheel-to-wheel racer. He left a bit of a gap to start the first lap and then didn't began full accelleration until he crossed the start/finish line (not when the R34 did). That definitely let the R34 gap the R35 pretty quickly early on. Not to mention, that R34 is QUICK! ;) For the next timed lap, Billy Johnson in the R34 hung WAAAAY back from our R35 and while our car began accelerating at the start/finish line, the R34 came up on the main straight at full song (at least from our viewpoint) and crossed the start/finish line at a speed much higher than the mandated 65 mph. That may have contributed to a little difference in the timed laps.

Later that day, with Toyo R888 tires (far less sticky than the Hoosiers we ran in the LS Battle or the Hankook's used by the R34) our R35 ran a 1.48 lap in the final Time Attack session. The big difference there was our driver got a few tips from our friend Gary Sheehan on how to take a few of the corners (since he was a rookie at that track). There's still more time out there...but that's always the case isn't it.

Definitely not mentioning any of this to take anything away from the R34's performance. It was an awesome event, and it was a close battle regardless of what happened. Just wanted to make sure it was clear the R35 didn't get "smoked" or was in some ways much much slower than the R34.

Finally, much respect to those Hankook tires. Gary Sheehan was able to drop ~4 seconds off his lap time switching from the same type Hoosiers we were using in the LS Battle to the Hankook race tire. He couldn't stop praising how big of a difference they made. So, good job Hankook on stepping up with your tire compounds. Gary and the GST team ended up winning the event overall with a time of 1.38!!! Exciting stuff!

Thanks also to everyone that came out to the event and stopped by to say hi. Hopefully all your questions were answered. It was a great experience to meet so many fellow "GT-R nerds". ;)

Looks really good! R35 GT-R did a secound better than a Lamborghini LP640 which is expected. I think i like the lambo alot, but the GT-R is my fav. wait until they test a superlaggera!!! the GT-R wont be able to smoke it :( but spec-v will!

Who can guess which GT-R that is? Also phonix power is seting up for Dreamcar Shoot. They nicked the rear spoiler with the R34's rear end when loading it up. hope some paint will fix that right up :P

Race between the new GTR R35 vs Corvette Z06 racing from different speed. NOTE this first Video Online having the new GTR R35 vs C6 Z06.

you will notice in many differnt reviews that in a strait line the Z06 is faster than the GT-R. and thats true, in a strait line. thats as lame as nascar, and if people are going to do that on the streets, thats even more lame. leave that for high school kids who kill themselfs drag racing.

The R35 on the race track is much faster than the Z06. Motor trend did a review of it and prove that its the gearing and AWD that allows it to skyrocket out of corners so fast. the Z06 doesnt have awd and its gearing isnt as tight.

I do laugh at the R35 driver in that movie. it should be able to keep up or surpase the Z06 until 60mph. sadly it doesnt, the R35 wasnt made for drag race, its made for the race track and that it does very very well!

A while back we reported that development was finished for the Ohlins Coilovers for Garage Saurus R35 GT-R. Now Updated pictures with the added helper coil have been added.

Modifying the total length and attenuation of the shock now. Helper Kit was added to the Rear in order to expand the width of height adjustment!
