these are the 2 words that best describe my discussions with my father. you see, he is insisting on inviting his drinking buddies. people he has met only within the past 5 years of his life or so. i do not even know them that well.

all i know is that they drink A LOT of alcohol, become rowdy and rude and they are very, very unGodly people. i do not want them in my wedding.

Papa even goes as far as saying that parents have all the right and all the say in their child's wedding. well that was then, when parents paid for their child's wedding in full. and now, things are just totally different.

i do not know why he is pushing his weight around all of a sudden. he and i had never had a father-daughter relationship. we don't even converse. we talk as needed, but that's about it.

and yet, all of a sudden, this past week, my wedding is top of his list and he apparently has his own plans for the wedding day (from the night before... to the day of the wedding... and even after)

naiinis ako sa kanya!

i am leaving it up to my mother to manage him. i don't need the extra stress in life.

I am already very thankful that my wedding preps are still going smoothly. because my work-life is really keeping me on my toes since May 28.

i am thankful for a mother who helps keep me sane. for 2 sisters who always listen whenever i rant (about Papa) and for the man in my life who stnads as an emtional rcok for me.

so if you are reading this and you know you are invited to my wedding, don't panic if we only serve alcoholic drinks after the entire program (which is very short). i hope you understand my side of the issue - and believe me, you will not want to see my father drunk.

Two thumbs up!
Highly recommended!

Their specialty is their Wagyu Cheese Steak, and it was very good according to Mark.
I had my onion soup and grilled cheese sandwich, which were absolutely perfect!

The menu has a very good selection that will make you salivate and want to order EVERYTHING.

Even their drink link is quite vast.

They also sell sausages and beef (wagyu meat of different cuts)

I still owe this blog kwento about our Mactan trip (to celebrate my 28th birthday)
[nainggit kasi ako sa beach shots ni Joaquin :p ]

We stayed at Microtel Mactan where we got a promo room rate of Php5,200 a night with bfast for 2 and the room has the view of the beach.

The hotel is PERFECT. Excellent staff service. Good food. Affordable. Excellent amenities. White sand. And the sun beds are of very, very good quality!

All we did was eat, sleep, bask in the sun and we absolutely drowned ourselves with alcohol during happy hour (3pm - 7pm).

It was one of the best vacations we have had so far! And we highly recommend the place! :)

JAL Run

This one is my fault. I slept late the night before, because Baby Anton (my cousin/godson) was at the house until midnight.

Funny though, 'coz I dreamt that someone asked me how fast I run 5K, and I answered 35mins! So when I woke up, that was my goal! hahaha!

Add to that, the race started late (way past 6am) due to a 15min aerobic exercise. grrr! We were also required to wear the JAL shirt that they gave. It was thick cotton and very heavy.

I ran 5K in 47mins. boo :(

Good points are: there were a lot of very helpful marshals and there was more than enough cold water :)

because of my extreme lack of sleep from Friday until Sunday, I have been managing my time really well since Monday. Been sleeping at 9pm sharp (sometimes even earlier) since Sunday night...
(Sun 630pm, Mon 8-pm, Tues1030pm, Wed 9pm)

I'll only be sleeping late tonight (1am) 'coz it's SPIT night...

Confession for the day - I am totally addicted to and totally LOVE this site! And I recommend it to ALL brides-to-be that I know!

Anyway, some stuff to share:

BRIDE WARS
I didn't watch this movie on purpose 'coz I'm kind of sensitive about a similar issue happening in my life. Add to that, I don't really talk about it because I know I am being immature about the situation. Thing is, I am still upset about it and even if you tell me not to be. I'll still be. (Labo! haha!) BUT I just might watch the movie soon, since I may still get some nice idea's from it. We'll see!

CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS
With our wedding happeneing right in the smack of the Christmas season, this is a major concern on our end. We have made some ground rules:

first, we won't be attending Christmas parties. Meaning, it will be as limited as possible. On the side of friends, our focus is Aldo. The rest will be set aside.
we will focus on FAMILY this Decemer. Most specially since many of them are flying in for the wedding. We have to make them our priority. (Family includes ALDO and ENZO)
The decision on where we will be on Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 31 and Jan 1 will be properly discussed and decided on by November

Other specific topics that I've read and loved or have helped me immensely:

wishes on ribbons (I wanna do this)
the wedding survival kit (copied this and customized it to fit my needs)
something old, somehting new (sent this to my MIL 'coz she wants to know what she can provide me. so sweet, 'noh?)
fighting (this has not been a concern nor an issue eversince we attended our Discovery Weekend :)
notecards vs. a guestbook (i am still deciding which one i like more...)

BUT, I want to join a more serious run, Globe and Ayala Land's RUN FOR HOME the week after. Although I have a major concern with the run route they prepared...

Visited RUNNR today - FINALLY!

Love the store. It's as complete as complete can be, and for a newbie runner, its heaven! ;)

I could not afford to buy new shoes today - but I do need a new pair... since I couldn't leave the place without buying anything, I bought a white Nike running cap ;)

I will go back next week, weekday, lunch break, to go for a Gait Analysis. Sooo excited! And then I will buy new shoes ;)

One thing I learned or realized today, is that as a newbie 5K runner, I don't need to buy EVERY SINGLE RUNNING ACCESSORY. All I need are the basics and am good to go.

cap = check (just bought a bonafide running cap today)
sports bra = check. have 2 already.
running tops = check. have several already, no need to buy new ones, plus I have 3 singlets ;) NAKS! ;)
running shorts = check. have 2.
jogging pants (for cold weeather running) = check. have 3.
running socks = check.
runnng shoes = check. BUT I need new ones na.
sports watch = check

Other things I dont really need --

hydratoin belt = i'll only need this when I start running 10K
shades/sunglasses = no need, i prefer using a cap than this. In fact, I rarely wear shades when I drive or walk 'coz I get dizzy :p

can't wait to go back naaa! :)
