His work is centered around the real manmade climate change you never hear the media talking about. What I am referring to is electromagnetic weather modification with scalar and HAARP-like technologies.

Stevens recently quit his career as a news weatherman in Pocatello, Idaho to devote his time to the study of what is really behind the bizarre and unnatural weather being experienced around the world. He made national news in 2005 after suggesting that Hurricane Katrina may have been manipulated using electromagnetic waves.

The below video is the trailer to Stevens' upcoming documentary scheduled to be released this fall, which will cover artificially-created weather and cloud formations, chemtrails, electromagnetic fields, scalar technology and HAARP, among other things, including an interview with Bernard Eastlund, the man behind the creation of HAARP, shortly before his death in 2007.

Stevens' website can be found at http://weatherwars.info/

Matthew D. Cholesterol screening is now being recommended for children as young as two years of age. [1] Statins are now the most prescribed drugs in the U.S., along with antidepressants and drugs for treating high blood pressure.[2]

Cholesterol's alleged role in causing heart disease has been contested by doctors and scientists around the world, and the drugs given to treat cholesterol often pose more of a risk to the people taking them rather than the cholesterol itself.

The fact is that cholesterol is not the boogeyman that it's made out to be in causing heart disease, much like CO2 is not the boogeyman that it's made out to be in causing global warming.

Cholesterol is an important and vital substance to the proper functioning of cells in all mammals, and actually protects against cancer and infection. While high cholesterol may indicate an underlying medical condition, that is not always the case and in many instances is completely innocuous because high cholesterol in itself poses no risk in causing heart disease or heart attacks.[3]

According to researcher Uffe Ravnskov MD PHD, author of The Cholesterol Myths, the human body produces three to four times the amount of cholesterol consumed in food, and the more cholesterol a person consumes, the less the body produces. This explains why diet rarely lowers cholesterol by any significant amount.[4]

Ravnskov also notes that there is no evidence indicating that dietary cholesterol and animal fat contributes to atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) or heart attacks, and that multiple studies have shown that the majority of people who have suffered from heart attacks hadn't consumed any more fat and cholesterol than people who haven't suffered from heart attacks and/or hardening of the arteries.[5] Just as many adults with cholesterol numbers under 200 experience heart attacks as those with cholesterol numbers over 300, as reported in Medical World News (3/27/92).[6]

On the other hand, some evidence suggests that statin drugs do coincide with an increased mortality rate. One thing that statin drugs do is deplete the heart muscle of vital nutrients, such as Coenzyme Q10.[7] This might be why so many people taking statins have reported muscle weakness and muscle wasting.[8] The use of statins has also shown in studies to increase the risk of cancer.[9]

(It just so happens that CoQ10 is being investigated as a possible treatment for cancer.)[10]

Evidence also shows that the use of statins has been linked with depression, suicide, fatigue, memory loss and general ill health.[11][12]

Now that we know what doesn't cause heart disease, let's talk for a minute about what does.

While it's widely believed that the genetically modified, chemical and hormone-laden, nutritionally-deficient foods consumed by many Westerners are largely behind the ongoing epidemics of obesity and diabetes, the same can in fact be said for what causes heart disease. Except it has little to do with the high fat and cholesterol content of these foods, but rather that these foods are so devoid of the nutrients necessary to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system. This leads to a form of chronic scurvy (heart disease), which manifests itself in the hardening and weakening of the arteries, where fats collect under the inner lining of artery walls which are damaged. This leads to a narrowing of the arteries and an obstruction of blood flow, which then leads to a heart attack or cardiac arrest.[13]

The Nobel Prize winning chemist, Dr. Linus Pauling, proposed decades ago that vitamin C combined with Lysine be used in the prevention of heart and coronary artery disease. Recent studies prove that Pauling was right and that vitamin C is essential for the production of collagen, which is required for healthy and strong arteries.[14] Arteries that are healthy do not accumulate plaque. This may explain why animals (with the exception of the guinea pig), which produce their own vitamin C, do not acquire heart disease. Because humans, unlike animals, do not produce their own vitamin C, they are naturally deficient in vitamin C. Even a person who eats healthy, organic foods may be deficient in vitamin C. This means that many people will require added supplementation to achieve optimal levels of vitamin C.

As Westerners continue to eat their processed GMO foods, there is a concerted effort being made to literally criminalize the use of vitamins and other supplements under Codex Alimentarius. This plan is currently underway in Canada and other countries. Canada is currently in the process of passing a bill titled C51, which would remove over-the-counter availability of supplements.[15] Instead these supplements will require a doctor's prescription and the quality and potency of these supplements will be greatly reduced, yet they will cost much more than they were previously. If this bill is passed then supplements will be made illegal without a prescription, and 70 percent of all supplements on the market could be removed. Those who do not abide by the new law will face fines of up to $5,000,000 and/or up to two years in jail.

Is it not a surprise that, in this brave new world, helpful, life-extending supplements are being banned in place of pharmaceuticals that have proven to be harmful if not dangerous? For many decades powerful stimulant drugs have been prescribed to chemically lobotomize children who don't fit the mould. Now they're talking about drugging children with equally dangerous drugs for a condition that isn't even correctly understood by most doctors, many of which are simply prostitutes for the Rockefeller-owned pharmaceutical cartel that also controls all the major medical journals that promote the use of this toxic waste.

Soon it will reach the point where nobody will have a say in what can or cannot go into their bodies if people don't put their foot down and say enough is enough. If this is allowed to happen, the only choices you will have regarding your health will by those offered by big pharma.

Footnotes:

[1]Heart disease: US doctors back statins for 8-year-olds
[2]Top 200 Prescription Drugs of 2006
[3]The Cholesterol Myths -- Your cholesterol tells very little about your future health
[4]The Cholesterol Myths -- The diet has little to do with your blood cholesterol level
[5]The Cholesterol Myths -- Atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease have nothing to do with the diet
[6]Health By The Numbers
[7]Statins and CoQ10 Deficiency
[8]Muscle Weakness From Statins
[9]Taking statins may increase cancer risk
[10]Benefits of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) for Cancer Treatment
[11]Statin Drugs & Memory Loss
[12]Hostility, Aggression, Depression and Suicide with Statin Drugs
[13]How Much Longer Can Modern Medicine Ignore Evidence That Vitamin C Prevents Heart and Blood Vessel Disease?
[14]Ibid
[15]Vitamin C About to be Made Illegal in Canada! Matthew D. Bill Cosby interacted with James Anders, Jr.

Cosby stopped the 26-year-old Wilson County man in April.

Cosby suspected Anders hid marijuana in his mouth. The officer used a vascular restraint technique to keep Anders from swallowing.

On the video recorded inside Cosby's patrol car, Cosby said he smelled marijuana and handcuffed Anders and his passenger.

The video also showed the officer putting his hands around Anders' neck. He applied pressure and told Anders to stick out his tongue. This happened for nearly two minutes before Anders lost consciousness.

Photographs released by Anders' attorney showed injuries he sustained when he fell to the pavement.

Cosby didn't find any marijuana in Ander's mouth. Anders passed a drug test the next day.

A small bag of pot was found in his car and Anders was arrested for simple possession and resisting arrest.

After the district attorney saw the video, the charges were dropped.

Anders is expected to file a lawsuit in federal court later this month.

Cosby is still on the job.

After viewing the tape, General Sessions Judge Barry Tatum dismissed all Cosby's cases. He called what Cosby did inexcusable and said Cosby is no longer welcome in his court. In essence, any tickets he writes now are meaningless. The judge will dismiss them.

Anders' attorney said there's no excuse for strangling a man helpless and handcuffed.

"Clearly his constitutional rights were violated. He was choked," said Garry Vandever, Anders' attorney.

Vandever said Anders is fine but he still upset over what happened.

Anders is expected to file a lawsuit in federal court later this month.

Andy Garrett was sworn in as the new police chief Monday night.

"I have viewed the tape. I wasn't on board when this happened," he said. "It is an incident that's been addressed internally through training and discipline with the police officer. Any further investigation that's going to be done by an outside agency will be referred to the city attorney," said Garrett, a 25-year Metro Police Department veteran who recently commanded the force's Central Precinct.

He succeeds former Mount Juliet Police Chief Ted Floyd who retired several months ago.

In a letter sent to the new police chief and obtained by NewsChannel 5's Tatum said he's "dismissing all cases Corporal Cosby has pending" in his court.

Tatum also indicated that he's "dismissing any (future) cases he attempts to bring."

Tatum said Cosby has "cast a permanent cloud over law enforcement and the judicial system."

"We trust that an officer has to have the type of demeanor that when someone is treating them badly, spitting on them, trying to hit them, that that officer will have restraint in his actions toward that person," said Wilson County General Sessions Court Judge Bob Hamilton.Matthew D. The premise of this special will be the countdown to the year 2100, and what we must do to avert our own demise according to the "experts." The ABC article regarding this 2-hour special asks:

"Are we living in the last century of our civilization? Is it possible that all of our technology, knowledge and wealth cannot save us from ourselves? Could our society actually be heading towards collapse?"

The article goes on to state:

"According to many of the world's top scientists, the answer is yes, unless we take action now."

According to the mainstream media and collectivists like Al Gore, climate change is due to humans. We are supposedly to blame for what is widely believed to be cyclical in nature and caused mainly by the sun -- not C02. Therefore we must drastically change the way we live and allow the state to come in and completely manage every aspect of our lives.

This is reminiscent of what elite think tanks such as the Club of Rome have written openly about in the past several decades. Take for instance the Club of Rome's 1991 publication, The First Global Revolution, written by Alexander King and Bertrand Schneider. In this book they state:

"In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill…. All these dangers are caused by human intervention… The real enemy, then, is humanity itself."

Similar rhetoric can be traced back to as early as 1967, in the Report From Iron Mountain, which dealt with various substitutes that could be used as an alternative to war in controlling the population. While many believe this report to be an elaborate hoax and was even admitted to be in 1972 to be by its alleged "sole author," Leonard Lewin, myself and many others believe this was to discredit the report, which had initially leaked and was getting much unwanted public attention. Even if it was a hoax, certainly a lot of what is contained within it rings true today. Lewin himself even admitted that the report reflects the concepts being discussed in government think tanks around that time.

The report talks about how, in place of the war threat, an environmental threat could be used to rally the people behind the state. It was even discussed how they would deliberately allow pollution to get to such a crisis level that it would create the reaction needed to justify the solution.

These phony, pre-planned "solutions" always entail the consolidation of more control in the hands of the state. In the case of global warming and climate change, the government solution entails global taxes, western deindustrialization, sovereignty-eroding laws and regulations, centralized control over the world's resources, and a clampdown on individual rights and freedoms. When you boil it all down, it's a matter of collectivism and control, not only over the world's land and water, but every man, woman and child residing on earth.

Perhaps the most accurate term to describe this would be communitarianism. These people ultimately want to dictate what you can and cannot eat, what type of transportation you can use, the amount of resources you can consume (including food and water), and even what kind of house you can live in.

But don't expect to hear any of this on ABC's 2-hour special in September. Also nevermind the fact that hundreds of the world's top scientists and climate experts refute the official lie about global warming being manmade. The UN's IPCC report which is widely touted by global warming fundamentalists is a politically-driven farce that censored any and all dissenting scientists while listing them as participants anyway. Several of these scientists have since threatened legal action to have their names removed from the report.

The biggest threat to the elite's collectivist agenda is free-thinking individuals. This is why it's important that people are provided the information needed to awaken to the truth as the global warming drumbeat gets louder and louder via the media and education/indoctrination system. The increasingly bizarre weather is already being attributed to human-induced climate change, and this is likely to increase over the next several years as the globalists' world totalitarian system comes fully into fruition.
Matthew D. I was never a Ron Paul supporter to begin with. It's not because I dislike the guy. (I don't see him as the hero some people do, either.) It's just that I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon and act like the people have a say under this system when they don't and never did. People spent large sums of their hard-earned money donating to Paul's campaign, truly believing he could win. The mantra I hear some people repeating now is that even though his campaign is over, he woke thousands of people up. But what exactly were people woken up to if they still believe that going to the polls -- which the elite control -- is going to change anything?

What some don't understand is that people voting gives the controllers further confidence, because it shows that people still believe in the illusionary sham called democracy (mob rule). The cryptocracy knows that a public that thinks they have a say in their destiny through the pulling down on a lever, is never going to pose any real challenge to their system of control which is held together by such delusional thinking. Therefore, voting serves more to gauge the people's faith in the system than it does anything else. The people will continue to go to the polls every 2-4 years, thinking they're voting for their candidate of choice, when they are in fact voting for the establishment-picked choices provided to them by CFR and Bilderberg Group elitists. Anyone who hasn't been hand-picked will be marginalized and/or ignored. Nothing will change, other than the illusion of who's in power. Even CFR archivist Carroll Quigley stated this in his book, Tragedy & Hope, about how the two parties must be identical, that way the people can "throw out the rascals" without there being any profound changes in policy.

I will probably receive some flack for saying this, but I don't care. The fact is that I see a lot of the same groupthink mentality coming from the so-called "Truth" and "Patriot" movements that I do with any other popular movements which serve solely to lead people into the pen -- be it the anti-war movement, the animal rights movement, the environmental movement, etc. While those in the formerly mentioned movements may be more informed on the real issues, I see people being lead more than leading themselves. Everyone wants to follow a leader. Nobody wants to lead themselves, which is unfortunate. Much like your average Obama-supporting dupes have slogans and platitudes which they parrot without thinking, the same holds true for the Truth and Patriot movements. I hear all this talk about "abolishing the FED" and "defeating the New World Order" (which are both good things, obviously), but how can this happen if people don't even understand and realize the full depth of what we're up against as humanity? How can any of this happen if people think they're going to see this change by voting on their voting machines, under their system?

I see the entire Ron Paul candidacy as being a carefully-crafted charade to dupe the awakening public as they once again laugh in our faces over our gullibility. The elite know that people are waking up to their plans, as more and more people become disillusioned by the system they know deep down they have no say in. But they wanted to see how many people still believed enough in that system to still play their game, drinking the Ron Paul koolaid, foolishly believing he had any chance at all of winning under the system which they own lock, stock and barrel.

It's very possible that Ron Paul is a great guy and as well-meaning and genuine as he appears on TV. Maybe he's just a bit naive and is being used as a tool without his knowledge. Nevermind the fact that he promulgates the official 9/11 myth, has a penchant for flashing the masonic/Baphomet hand signal, gives masonic handshakes on live TV, votes to give China "most-favored nation" status and even amnesty for illegals (as he has done in the past).... but maybe we should just ignore this so we're not demonized and called COINTELPRO for asking questions by the self-proclaimed "truth" leaders on the radio. I am being sarcastic, of course.

Is it impossible to think that maybe the entire movement that has arisen in the wake of 9/11 has been a counterintelligence creation from the start -- one that has been used to neutralize people in the process of waking up by sending them off in the wrong direction while giving them false hopes? I am often criticised for being "too pessimistic" and never presenting any "solutions." Everybody wants solutions, but nobody wants to think of their own solutions based on what they know. I make it no secret that I don't have all the answers. What I do tell people is that they need to work to inform themselves and others, because any talk of solutions is irrelevant until enough people have truly woken up and really understand the power structure.

Only once people are informed enough to be able to lead themselves instead of following the man with the bullhorn can we talk about solutions.

Most people cannot grasp the fact that the system is rotten from the top down, and there is no changing or going back in time under that masonic system. People need to get past the old slogans and cliches and be a little more realistic. Stop looking for one person to solve all your problems and start solving your own.
Matthew D. There, the Rockefellers chastised oil giant Exxon-Mobil for failing to invest in “alternative energy” sources, invoking their own moral authority as Exxon-Mobil’s longest standing shareholders

Family spokesperson Neva Rockefeller Goodwin sanctimoniously recalled the memory of her great-grandfather, John D. Rockefeller, founder of Standard Oil and originator of the family fortune. “Kerosene was the alternative energy of its day when he realized it could replace whale oil,” she argued. “Part of John D. Rockefeller’s genius was in recognizing early the need and opportunity for a transition to a better, cheaper and cleaner fuel

But the indignation of today’s generation of Rockefellers—who inherited their own exorbitant wealth from Standard Oil, Exxon-Mobil’s parent corporation—is aimed more at ensuring the continued financial health of the family’s trust funds than concern for the future of the world’s population. As Peter O'Neill, great-great-grandson of John D. Rockefeller, commented at the press conference, “I have a world of respect for what the company has done well. In fact, if the next 20 years of the energy business were just going to be about oil and gas, we probably wouldn't be here today.”

Nevertheless, the corporate media obediently described the Rockefellers as concerned environmentalists. The New York Times ran the headline, “Can Rockefeller Heirs Turn Exxon Greener?” News outlets quoted freely from the Rockefellers’ press release, which described John D. Rockefeller as “one of the first major philanthropists in the U.S. and the World” and the family’s Rockefeller Foundation’s mission as "promot[ing] the well-being of mankind throughout the world.”

The family fable concocted above warrants a rebuttal. Standard Oil was the world’s first oil monopoly, and Rockefeller’s greed was insatiable. Indeed, the Rockefeller family legacy is deeply entangled with the U.S.’ current reliance on oil—and automobiles. Moreover, the family’s “philanthropic” pursuits include a peculiar preoccupation with lowering the birth rates of the world’s black and brown populations throughout the twentieth century—highlighting the absurdity of their claim to be promoting the well being of humankind. Mainstream journalists could easily uncover these unsavory aspects of the family history but instead report the Rockefellers’ self-sanitized version, with all its glaring omissions.

Indeed, the family’s selective memory of its patriarch, John D. Rockefeller, as a saintly philanthropist stands in sharp contrast to his role as a nineteenth-century robber baron. “God gave me my money,” he said. “Having been endowed with the gift I possess, I believe it is my duty to make money and still more money and to use the money I make for the good of my fellow man according to the dictates of my conscience.”

Rockefeller’s conscience apparently did not dictate paying his employees more than a starvation wage. His admirers praise him for making gasoline affordable to average Americans, and he did indeed aim to produce large amounts of "cheap and good" gasoline for mass consumption, successfully lowering the price of gas from 58 cents to 8 cents a gallon. But he achieved this goal through ruthless union busting, hiring his own private militias to crush workers who dared to go on strike to demand higher wages.

The private armies of the Rockefeller-owned Colorado Fuel & Iron Rockefeller was a cutthroat capitalist who built his oil monopoly in the decades after the Civil War using methods more in keeping with the bribery, blackmail and back stabbing of a mafia family than an honest entrepreneur. As he once proclaimed, "I would rather earn 1 percent off a [sic] 100 people's efforts than 100 percent of my own efforts.” This credo made him the richest man in the world.

As he quietly bought up his smaller oil competitors with these methods, Rockefeller entered into secret—and illegal—agreements with railroad magnates that gave discounts as off-the books rebates to his growing oil monopoly, easily driving smaller refiners out of business. By 1879, Standard Oil controlled 90 percent of the oil refining business in the U.S. When the Supreme Court finally forced Rockefeller to formally disband Standard Oil as a monopoly trust in 1911, the damage was done. Indeed, the breakup doubled the value of his stock and gave birth to oil conglomerates Esso and Mobil (now Exxon-Mobil), Arco and Amoco (now BP), Pennzoil (now Shell), Chevron and Conoco. Rockefeller spent his remaining decades playing golf.

John D. Rockefeller’s descendents have happily carried on in the robber baron’s tradition, alongside a public relations machine that routinely airbrushes the family history. These heirs have never needed to work a day in their lives to afford the best of everything money could buy. The Rockefeller name ensures each generation a ten-figure trust fund and a guaranteed spot at an elite university, enabled by the Rockefeller family’s generous donations. The many chapels, libraries, museums and other buildings bearing the Rockefeller name on private campuses across the U.S. bear testament to the family’s self-serving approach to gift giving. Most recently, David M. Rockefeller, Sr., former chairman, president and CEO of Chase Manhattan Bank, and former chairman of the board of the Rockefeller Group, donated a record $100 million to Harvard University, citing his fond memories as part of the class of ’36.

By design, the Rockefellers have received no blame for their pivotal role in destroying the vast trolley car system that dominated U.S. cities before the 1940s, thereby increasing city dwellers’ dependency on automobiles and gas-fueled bus lines. Yet the Rockefellers’ Standard Oil of California joined General Motors, Firestone Tire, Standard Oil of California and Phillips Petroleum to form the National City Lines holding company, which bought out and dismantled more than 100 trolley systems in 45 cities (including New York, Detroit, Baltimore, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Salt Lake City, Tulsa, Minneapolis and Los Angeles) between 1936 and 1950.

In 1949, these corporate defendants were acquitted of conspiring to monopolize transportation services. Indeed, the corporations behind National City Lines were each fined just $5,000—while each of their directors paid a mere $1 fine—a small price to pay for the windfall in profits they all enjoyed in the decades that followed. Congress offered up tax dollars to build the enormous highway infrastructure that encouraged automobile travel in the 1950s, while federal investment in mass transit and train systems languished. As Noam Chomsky noted, “By the mid-1960s, one out of six business enterprises was directly dependent on the motor vehicle industry.”

No Rockefeller family history would be complete without highlighting their central role in shaping twentieth century population control policy, aimed explicitly at curbing birth rates among the non-Caucasian poor. Beginning in 1910, Rockefeller money flowed into organizations such as the Race Betterment Foundation and the Eugenics Section of the American Breeders Association, which spearheaded the eugenics movement—the “science” of “improving heredity.” These organizations, also funded by the upstanding Carnegie, Harriman and Kellogg families, sponsored academics claiming that those at the top of the social ladder had proven their racial superiority, while those at the bottom were biologically incapable of success. The eugenics movement encouraged the “superior” races to marry each other and have lots of children, while promoting forced sterilization, racial segregation and deportation of immigrants of those deemed “unfit” to reproduce.

The “superior” races so admired by the eugenics movement were “Nordic,” with blond hair and blue eyes, and the movement soon gained an admirer in Adolph Hitler. In 1924’s "Mein Kampf," Hitler noted, "There is today one state in which at least weak beginnings toward a better conception (of immigration) are noticeable. Of course, it is not our model German Republic, but the United States." By the 1920s, the Rockefeller Foundation was already providing hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund eugenics research in Germany; in 1929 alone, $317,000 of Rockefeller money went to the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Brain Research, according to Edwin Black, writing in the San Francisco Chronicle in 2003. Although the Rockefellers had withdrawn all funding to German research by the onset of the Second World War in 1939, Black argued, “[B]y that time, the die had been cast. The talented men Rockefeller and Carnegie financed, the great institutions they helped found, and the science they helped create took on a scientific momentum of their own.”

By the 1930s, the wheels for forced sterilization were also in motion inside the U.S. Laws were enacted in 27 states in 1932, calling for compulsory sterilization of the “feeble-minded, insane, criminal, and physically defective.” In 1939, the Birth Control Federation of America, as historian Dorothy E. Roberts described, “planned a ‘Negro Project’ designed to limit reproduction by blacks ‘who still breed carelessly and disastrously, with the result that the increase among Negroes, even more than among whites, is from that portion of the population least intelligent and fit, and least able to rear children properly.’” In 1974, an Alabama court found that between 100,000 and 150,000 poor black teenagers had been sterilized in that state alone.

After World War Two, population control agencies set their sights overseas. In the 1960s, the International Planned Parenthood Foundation, heavily funded by the Rockefellers alongside the U.S. government, played a key role in a coercive sterilization programs targeting Third World populations. By 1968, one-third of women of childbearing age in Puerto Rico—still a U.S. colony—had been permanently sterilized, often without their knowledge or consent. Rockefeller-funded programs sterilized 40,000 women in Colombia between 1963 and 1965, according to feminist author Bonnie Mass. These are just two examples among many.

The self-righteous claims of the current generation of Rockefellers must be viewed in this context. They have kept silent since the 1989 Exxon-Valdez Alaskan oil spill, even as Exxon-Mobil has refused to pay court-ordered compensation to the nearly 33,000 Alaskans who won a lawsuit against Exxon in 1994 for the company’s “reckless” behavior. Nor have they uttered a word of protest following news that growing numbers of employed workers across the U.S. are lining up at food pantries due to the skyrocketing price of food and gasoline. As Bill Bolling, founder of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, told CNN, "People are giving up buying groceries so that they can pay rent and put gas in the car."

Today’s Rockefellers praise Exxon-Mobil for its current status as the most profitable corporation in U.S. history, having raked in a record $40.6 billion in profits in 2007. It goes right to the heart - or the head - of us all.

This crisis could reshape how we interact with each other, alter what makes us happy, and modify our capacity for reaching our full potential as individuals.

And it's caused by one simple fact: the human brain, that most sensitive of organs, is under threat from the modern world.

Unless we wake up to the damage that the gadget-filled, pharmaceutically-enhanced 21st century is doing to our brains, we could be sleepwalking towards a future in which neuro-chip technology blurs the line between living and non-living machines, and between our bodies and the outside world.

It would be a world where such devices could enhance our muscle power, or our senses, beyond the norm, and where we all take a daily cocktail of drugs to control our moods and performance.

Already, an electronic chip is being developed that could allow a paralysed patient to move a robotic limb just by thinking about it.

As for drug manipulated moods, they're already with us - although so far only to a medically prescribed extent.

Increasing numbers of people already take Prozac for depression, Paxil as an antidote for shyness, and give Ritalin to children to improve their concentration.

But what if there were still more pills to enhance or "correct" a range of other specific mental functions?

What would such aspirations to be "perfect" or "better" do to our notions of identity, and what would it do to those who could not get their hands on the pills? Would some finally have become more equal than others, as George Orwell always feared?

Of course, there are benefits from technical progress - but there are great dangers as well, and I believe that we are seeing some of those today.

I'm a neuroscientist and my day-to-day research at Oxford University strives for an ever greater understanding - and therefore maybe, one day, a cure - for Alzheimer's disease.

But one vital fact I have learnt is that the brain is not the unchanging organ that we might imagine.

It not only goes on developing, changing and, in some tragic cases, eventually deteriorating with age, it is also substantially shaped by what we do to it and by the experience of daily life.

When I say "shaped", I'm not talking figuratively or metaphorically; I'm talking literally.

At a microcellular level, the infinitely complex network of nerve cells that make up the constituent parts of the brain actually change in response to certain experiences and stimuli.

The brain, in other words, is malleable - not just in early childhood but right up to early adulthood, and, in certain instances, beyond.

The surrounding environment has a huge impact both on the way our brains develop and how that brain is transformed into a unique human mind.

Of course, there's nothing new about that: human brains have been changing, adapting and developing in response to outside stimuli for centuries.

What prompted me to write my book is that the pace of change in the outside environment and in the development of new technologies has increased dramatically.

This will affect our brains over the next 100 years in ways we might never have imagined.

Our brains are under the influence of an ever- expanding world of new technology: multichannel television, video games, MP3 players, the internet, wireless networks, Bluetooth links - the list goes on and on.

But our modern brains are also having to adapt to other 21st century intrusions, some of which, such as prescribed drugs like Ritalin and Prozac, are supposed to be of benefit, and some of which, such as widelyavailable illegal drugs like cannabis and heroin, are not.

Electronic devices and pharmaceutical drugs all have an impact on the micro- cellular structure and complex biochemistry of our brains. And that, in turn, affects our personality, our behaviour and our characteristics. In short, the modern world could well be altering our human identity.

Three hundred years ago, our notions of human identity were vastly simpler: we were defined by the family we were born into and our position within that family. Social advancement was nigh on impossible and the concept of "individuality" took a back seat.

That only arrived with the Industrial Revolution, which for the first time offered rewards for initiative, ingenuity and ambition.

Suddenly, people had their own life stories - ones which could be shaped by their own thoughts and actions. For the first time, individuals had a real sense of self.

But with our brains now under such widespread attack from the modern world, there's a danger that that cherished sense of self could be diminished or even lost.

Anyone who doubts the malleability of the adult brain should consider a startling piece of research conducted at Harvard Medical School.

There, a group of adult volunteers, none of whom could previously play the piano, were split into three groups.

The first group were taken into a room with a piano and given intensive piano practise for five days. The second group were taken into an identical room with an identical piano - but had nothing to do with the instrument at all.

And the third group were taken into an identical room with an identical piano and were then told that for the next five days they had to just imagine they were practising piano exercises.

The resultant brain scans were extraordinary. Not surprisingly, the brains of those who simply sat in the same room as the piano hadn't changed at all.

Equally unsurprising was the fact that those who had performed the piano exercises saw marked structural changes in the area of the brain associated with finger movement.

But what was truly astonishing was that the group who had merely imagined doing the piano exercises saw changes in brain structure that were almost as pronounced as those that had actually had lessons.

"The power of imagination" is not a metaphor, it seems; it's real, and has a physical basis in your brain.

Alas, no neuroscientist can explain how the sort of changes that the Harvard experimenters reported at the micro-cellular level translate into changes in character, personality or behaviour.
But we don't need to know that to realise that changes in brain structure and our higher thoughts and feelings are incontrovertibly linked.

What worries me is that if something as innocuous as imagining a piano lesson can bring about a visible physical change in brain structure, and therefore some presumably minor change in the way the aspiring player performs, what changes might long stints playing violent computer games bring about?

That eternal teenage protest of 'it's only a game, Mum' certainly begins to ring alarmingly hollow.

Already, it's pretty clear that the screen-based, two dimensional world that so many teenagers - and a growing number of adults - choose to inhabit is producing changes in behaviour.

Attention spans are shorter, personal communication skills are reduced and there's a marked reduction in the ability to think abstractly.

This games-driven generation interpret the world through screen-shaped eyes. It's almost as if something hasn't really happened until it's been posted on Facebook, Bebo or YouTube.

Add that to the huge amount of personal information now stored on the internet - births, marriages, telephone numbers, credit ratings, holiday pictures - and it's sometimes difficult to know where the boundaries of our individuality actually lie.

Only one thing is certain: those boundaries are weakening.

And they could weaken further still if, and when, neurochip technology becomes more widely available.

These tiny devices will take advantage of the discovery that nerve cells and silicon chips can happily co-exist, allowing an interface between the electronic world and the human body.

One of my colleagues recently suggested that someone could be fitted with a cochlear implant (devices that convert sound waves into electronic impulses and enable the deaf to hear) and a skull-mounted micro- chip that converts brain waves into words (a prototype is under research).

Then, if both devices were connected to a wireless network, we really would have arrived at the point which science fiction writers have been getting excited about for years. Mind reading!

He was joking, but for how long the gag remains funny is far from clear.

Today's technology is already producing a marked shift in the way we think and behave, particularly among the young.

I mustn't, however, be too censorious, because what I'm talking about is pleasure. For some, pleasure means wine, women and song; for others, more recently, sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll; and for millions today, endless hours at the computer console.

But whatever your particular variety of pleasure (and energetic sport needs to be added to the list), it's long been accepted that 'pure' pleasure - that is to say, activity during which you truly "let yourself go" - was part of the diverse portfolio of normal human life. Until now, that is.

Now, coinciding with the moment when technology and pharmaceutical companies are finding ever more ways to have a direct influence on the human brain, pleasure is becoming the sole be-all and end-all of many lives, especially among the young.

We could be raising a hedonistic generation who live only in the thrill of the computer-generated moment, and are in distinct danger of detaching themselves from what the rest of us would consider the real world.

This is a trend that worries me profoundly. For as any alcoholic or drug addict will tell you, nobody can be trapped in the moment of pleasure forever. Sooner or later, you have to come down.

I'm certainly not saying all video games are addictive (as yet, there is not enough research to back that up), and I genuinely welcome the new generation of "brain-training" computer games aimed at keeping the little grey cells active for longer.

As my Alzheimer's research has shown me, when it comes to higher brain function, it's clear that there is some truth in the adage "use it or lose it".

However, playing certain games can mimic addiction, and that the heaviest users of these games might soon begin to do a pretty good impersonation of an addict.

Throw in circumstantial evidence that links a sharp rise in diagnoses of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and the associated three-fold increase in Ritalin prescriptions over the past ten years with the boom in computer games and you have an immensely worrying scenario.
But we mustn't be too pessimistic about the future.

It may sound frighteningly Orwellian, but there may be some potential advantages to be gained from our growing understanding of the human brain's tremendous plasticity.

What if we could create an environment that would allow the brain to develop in a way that was seen to be of universal benefit?

I'm not convinced that scientists will ever find a way of manipulating the brain to make us all much cleverer (it would probably be cheaper and far more effective to manipulate the education system).

And nor do I believe that we can somehow be made much happier - not, at least, without somehow anaesthetising ourselves against the sadness and misery that is part and parcel of the human condition.

When someone I love dies, I still want to be able to cry.

But I do, paradoxically, see potential in one particular direction.

I think it possible that we might one day be able to harness outside stimuli in such a way that creativity - surely the ultimate expression of individuality - is actually boosted rather than diminished.

I am optimistic and excited by what future research will reveal into the workings of the human brain, and the extraordinary process by which it is translated into a uniquely individual mind.

But I'm also concerned that we seem to be so oblivious to the dangers that are already upon us.

Well, that debate must start now. Identity, the very essence of what it is to be human, is open to change - both good and bad. Our children, and certainly our grandchildren, will not thank us if we put off discussion much longer.

• Adapted from ID: The Quest For Identity In The 21st Century by Susan Greenfield, to be published by Sceptre on May 15 at £16.99. Officials fear political fallout over plans to implement the new Treaty before it has been fully ratified.

Working papers circulating in Brussels suggest that more than 160 EU offices around the world, including in member states, would become embassies.

The new service would rival established diplomatic services. Britain, with one of the world's largest, maintains 139 embassies and high commissions in capital cities.

Equally controversial is a proposal for EU ambassadors who would be accountable to the European Parliament.

"Parliament should aim for proper hearings of special representatives and ambassadorial nominees in the tradition of the US Congress for nominations of a clearly political nature," says the document.

Plans for the new foreign service have raised highly sensitive political issues by giving trappings of statehood to the EU and by fusing, for the first time, national diplomats with existing "eurocrats".

A vicious battle over who should control the diplomatic corps has broken out between national governments and the European Commission.

Countries such as Britain are alarmed that the EEAS, which is expected to take on some consular activities, would be a stepping stone to a single "supranational" euro-diplomatic service.

Meanwhile, Brussels officials fear that, if controlled by national governments, the new EEAS would draw power from "Community" bodies, such as the Commission, to inter-governmental institutions such as the Council of the EU, which represents member states.

"Any inter-governmentalism of policy areas under Community competence has to be avoided," states the confidential document.

"The EEAS will have to be in a specific way administratively connected to the European Commission."

The EEAS will number between 2,500 to 3,000 officials at its inception in January next year. It is then expected to grow to 7,000, or even up to 20,000, according to different estimates.

Britain, which loses its veto over the EEAS after it is created by a European summit decision expected in October, is expected to contribute around 20 to 30 senior diplomats to the EU service.

William Hague, the shadow foreign secretary, said yesterday: "As predicted the renamed EU Constitution is forming the basis of a power grab by the EU. It exposes Labour's stupidity in giving up the veto on an area key to Britain's interests."

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "The UK opposes and will argue against naming EEAS offices embassies.

Matthew D. The treated wastewater is released into the Wissahickon Creek, a tributary of the Schuylkill River. A federal court complaint was filed alleging that Merck violated the Clean Water Act with various discharges that caused numerous pass through and interference violations at the UGT POTW.

On June 13, 2006, Merck released potassium thiocyanate (KSCN) into the water that reacted with the chlorination at UGT POTW which resulted in extensive fish kills in the Wissahickon Creek on June 14th and 15th. The Philadelphia Water Department had to shut down its Schuylkill River drinking water intake for several days, and a health advisory was issued stating that all recreational uses on the Wissahickon Creek were prohibited from June 14th – July 10th. Then, on August 8th and 9th, Merck released a batch of spend substrate used in vaccine production which caused large-scale foam discharge into the creek. Merck will pay $10 million to institute a system that will prevent future hazardous discharges from their plant. They will also spend approximately $9 million for environmental projects and will pay $1,575,000 in penalties and civil damages for past violations. "Merck's actions led to an extensive fish-kill and caused the Philadelphia Water Department to temporarily shut down its drinking water operations," stated Acting Assistant Attorney General Tenpas. "This settlement ensures that Merck will take steps to prevent future illegal discharges including installing an early warning system to protect drinking water."

There have been many stories in the news lately concerning the problems with municipal water systems. Cliff and his guest offer their take on the so called 'morgellons' pathogen. Their evidence is somewhat shocking to those who know the basics of this agent and it's possible link to chemtrails. Essentially it seems that at microscopic level evidence of morgellons exists in those people *not* showing symptoms. IN other words this agent may well be lying dormant in all of us and has only so far been detected in those ppl showing overt symptoms.Matthew D. The purpose of this exercise is to prepare and respond to multiple incidents including natural disasters and terrorist incidents. Specifically the exercise involves a Category 4 hurricane impacting the Mid Atlantic Coast and the National Capitol Region as well as multiple terrorist attacks in Washington State, an accidental chemical agent release in Oregon and assorted aerospace events in North American airspace. Considering that the U.S. government conducted drills and exercises like Operation Northern Vigilance, Tripod II, among others to serve as cover for the government sponsored false flag terror attacks of 9/11, we need to pay close attention to these government sponsored drills and exercises. A similar scenario also occurred during the 7/7 terror attacks in London. On that day, drills depicting events mirroring the actual terror attacks were run at the exact same time the bombings took place. The odds of these being two completely random events is so incredibly unlikely that it boggles the mind. NLE 2-08 is a wide ranging exercise that will include not only FEMA but the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Transportation Command, the National Guard, USNORTHCOM, NORAD and Canada Command. Much like TOPOFF-4/Vigilant Shield 08 a martial law exercise that took place last year involving many of the same government institutions, we definitely need to keep track of NLE 2-08.

Below is taken from FEMA’s press release on this upcoming drill.

The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Exercise Program (NEP) will conduct National Level Exercise 2-08 (NLE 2-08) a combined functional and full scale exercise from May 1 through May 8. NLE 2-08 will merge the objectives of U.S. Northern Command’s (NORTHCOM) Ardent Sentry 2008 exercise, FEMA National Continuity Program’s (NCP) Eagle Horizon 2008 exercise (formerly known as Forward Challenge), and FEMA Disaster Operation’s Hurricane Preparedness Exercise (HPE).

The purpose of NLE 2-08 is to exercise national capabilities to prepare and respond to multiple incidents including both natural disasters and terrorist incidents. The exercise was designed to include scenario elements addressing hurricane preparedness and response, national continuity capabilities, and Defense Support to Civil Authorities coordination in response to weapons of mass destruction terrorist attacks. The exercise venues involve a Category 4 hurricane impacting the Mid Atlantic Coast and the National Capitol Region and multiple terrorist attacks in Washington State.

Also during NLE 2-08, the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) will test it’s response to an accidental chemical agent release at the Umatilla Chemical Depot in Oregon. Canada will also participate through their Staunch Maple Exercise.

The exercise allows Federal officials to implement continuity plans, test communications connectivity, operations and procedures for performing essential government functions from alternate locations, and interagency coordination. Additionally, it serves to demonstrate that essential functions can be effectively conducted during threats and emergencies.

USNORTHCOM expanded upon the FEMA NLE 2-08 press release revealing other specific government agencies that will be involved in this exercise.

North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command will exercise their response abilities to a variety of events during an intensive eight-day national level exercise in May.

National Level Exercise 2-08 will run May 1-8 and will exercise national capabilities to prepare and respond to multiple incidents including both natural disasters and terrorist incidents. Exercise scenarios include multiple terrorist attacks in the state of Washington, an accidental chemical agent release in Oregon, a Category 4 hurricane impacting the mid-Atlantic Coast and the National Capitol Region and aerospace events throughout North America.

NLE 2-08 will also involve agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, U.S. Transportation Command and the National Guard. Canada Command will participate through its Staunch Maple exercise.

“Exercises like NLE 2 – 08 give us the opportunity to work with other federal agencies, state and local officials, as well as Canada, in the response to multiple events,” said Gene Pino, NORAD and USNORTHCOM Joint Training and Exercise director. “This allows us to look at processes and procedures to identify strengths and weaknesses by stressing the system so that we can be better prepared in the future.”

It is especially concerning that this exercise is designed to test continuity of government operations considering the fact that last year George W. Bush signed NSPD-51 a directive which will give the President dictatorship powers over all three branches of government in the case of a catastrophic emergency. The directive provides a broad and wide ranging definition of what a catastrophic emergency is and can include anything from a natural disaster to a terrorist attack to a number of different scenarios that are being depicted in this drill. If this isn’t used as cover for a false flag terror attack, it could certainly be used as a warm-up to ensure that continuity of government operations will work properly when they decide to go forward with their martial law plans.

Not only this, but we are seeing a constant barrage of propaganda on how evil Iran and Syria is. Last week the Associated Press and others reported that a new Al-Qaeda audio tape of Ayman Al-Zawahri was found by CIA front group IntelCenter essentially saying that the 9/11 truth movement are anti-Semites and work with Iran. The AP couldn’t even confirm if the audio tape was authentic and IntelCenter provided no specific source of the material, but that didn’t prevent them from using a headline giving validity to the contents of the tape. The fact of the matter is, IntelCenter produces the majority of these fake Al-Qaeda videos and this latest release is being utilized to help the establishment powers in the White House. In addition, the CIA released a video tape which they claim is proof that North Korea is supplying Syria with nuclear technology. Syria’s ambassador to the United States called the contents of the tape laughable. Many have speculated that the U.S. government would stage some sort of nuclear terror attack in an American, European or an Israeli city to justify an invasion of Iran. This drill would certainly provide them with some cover to do this.

It is impossible to say if the intelligence apparatus would use this 8-day exercise to pull off some sort of false flag terror attack. However, considering the admitted history of government and military exercises being run as cover for false flag terror attacks, it is certainly a possibility. It is important that we shine as much light on these types of drills and exercises so if a terror attack takes place, we can expose the true culprits.
Matthew D.
