Merry Christmas & Happy Birthday! Sneak Peek included

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! I hope that you and your family have an amazing holiday season!

To celebrate, today I have some pretty tags to share with you! Two are Christmas themed and two are birthday themed. I made these tags and gifts for one of my dear friends because Christmas is also her birthday :O)

First, two Christmas tags:
For the Christmas tags, the tag and shadow tag are cut from the Cricut Joys of the Season cartridge from Kraft cardstock and Bashful Blue cardstock. Then I inked the edges with Creamy Caramel Classic ink using a Sponge Dauber.

The to/from stamp is from the Stampin' UP Winter Post stamp set.

The ribbon on the first tag is 1/4inch Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon and the ribbon on the second tag is 1/4inch Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon.

The next two tags are birthday themed.

For this first one, I used a stamp from the Stampin' UP Birthday Bliss stamp set. On the Bermuda Bay cardstock, I used the Scallop Trim Border punch. The ribbon is 1/2inch Pretty in Pink striped grosgrain.
On this last tag, I used a new stamp from the Stampin' UP Whimsical Words stamp set, which will be available starting Jan 5th. Across the bottom, I used the new Pinking Hearts Border punch. The ribbon is Melon Mambo polka dot grosgrain ribbon.

And here are all the presents wrapped up with their cute tags!

Last Minute Christmas Cards Part 3

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!! I hope you have a great holiday!!

Here is the last installment of last minute Christmas cards:

For all my last minute cards today, I used Kraft cardstock for the base and the "Season's Greetings" stamp from Stampin' UP Snow Swirled stamp set. I also used paper scraps from my stash.
For this first card, I used the new Scallop Trim Border punch on a Bermuda Bay cardstock scrap to make the nice border at the bottom. This punch, as well as a coordinating Scallop Trim corner punch will be available starting Jan 5th. The snowflake is from the Stampin' UP Serene Snowflakes stamp set.

For this card, I just changed the Whisper White cardstock scrap to a Bashful Blue cardstock scrap.

On this card, I used the Scallop Trim Corner Punch to decorate the Bashful Blue cardstock scrap.

Last Minute Christmas Cards Part 2

As promised, here are more last minute Christmas card ideas for you! I made these cards using some scraps out of my scrap stash. The base of all the cards is a piece of Kraft cardstock. It isn't too late to send out Christmas cards! I have sent out cards as late as January before tee hee!!!

The "Season's Greetings" sentiment is from the Stampin' UP Snow Swirled stamp set.

For this first card, I used a snowflake from the Stampin' UP Snow Swirled stamp set. The decorative corner was made with the upcoming Scallop Trim Corner Punch!! I also used the matching Scallop Trim border punch to make the trim at the bottom of the Bashful Blue cardstock. These great new punches will be available starting January 5th!

The snowflake stamp used on this card is from the Stampin' UP Serene Snowflakes stamp set.

Rachel Ray Bakeware Review

Today, I am going to do something a little different around here. I mentioned this a while back so if you are a regular here at SP, you might already know about this. Pictured above is one of my specialty dinners: Chicken pot pie casserole. I made it in my brand new Rachel Ray bake ware!!

I was contacted a while ago by CSNstores.com and they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. They asked me to do a review for them and I was so excited to say YES!! If you don't know about CSNstores.com let me take a second to tell you about them. CSN stores is an online retailer with over 200 different online stores. Each store specializes in one category of items such as furniture, bake ware, office supplies, etc. They have pretty much any item you can think of.

I chose to review the Rachel Ray 5 piece bake ware set. I chose this set because I happen to enjoy baking and this set is dishwasher safe AND non-stick, a perfect combo in my opinion. I also love the cute little handles.

It was so exciting when the big package arrived at my house! They packaged the bake ware so carefully and everything arrived in beautiful condition. They did a great job shipping it (if you order anything online, you know how important the packaging can be, I hate it when things arrive in less than perfect condition). So I was really impressed at how carefully CSN packaged my bake ware set.

After opening up my package and pulling out all the bakeware, I was so excited that I had to get them washed so I could use them for dinner.

That night I made hamburgers (yes I bake them) in my new baking pan, but I forgot to take a photo. I was really happy with the way my hamburgers came out. The handles on the sides of each dish really come in handy when pulling things out of the oven. I noticed this because my other dishes don't have handles like these do. I will definitely be buying more dishes with handles from now on.

AND finally, I want to tell you, they weren't kidding when they said the dishes were non-stick. For dessert, I made a sopapilla cheesecake, pictured below:
I took out some of the little cheesecake squares so you could see that they come off the dish beautifully. Now I know what you are thinking. . . those look delicious, don't they?? Well, I thought you would think so, so I have the recipe for you!! When I was at my first craft fair recently, the Pampered Chef that had a booth made these lovely treats and so I immediately wanted to make some of my own. I found a recipe online and adjusted it to my tastes. This was actually the second time I made Sopapilla Cheesecake and it was magical! LOL

Ingredients:
2 cans of Pillsbury Crescent rolls
1 cup of sugar
1 8oz package of Cream Cheese, softened
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Roll out one can of crescent rolls in baking sheet in one flat sheet of dough (I used my beautiful new Rachel Ray baking sheet!!) Do not separate the rolls.
2. Set aside 1-2 tablespoons of sugar and pour the rest of the sugar into a mixing bowl. Add cream cheese and mix until combined.
3. Spread cream cheese mixture over the rolled out dough.
4. Roll out the second can of crescent rolls over the cream cheese.
5. Brush melted butter over the top of the dough and sprinkle cinnamon and 1-2 tablespoons of sugar over the top.
6. Bake until golden brown, approx 20 minutes.

Overall, I am very pleased with my new bake ware set and I would highly recommend it if you are in the market for some new dishes. The handles are convenient, the non-stick surface is great, and they are pretty! These dishes are far nicer than the other bake ware I have purchased in the past.

I chose to go with silly for my layout because I had the perfect photo that needed to be scrapped. This layout is another one of my Christmas presents for Johnny's family so you will get to see this photo scrapbooking three more times! YAHOO. LOL!

Last Minute Christmas Cards Part 1, sneak peek, & BIG NEWS

Hello everyone!!! I have some big news to share today along with two Christmas cards. This week, leading up to Christmas I will be posing some simple cards I made for Christmas. I am calling this series Last Minute Christmas Cards.

For my last minute Christmas cards, I pulled out some of my paper scraps and used Kraft Cardstock for the base of the card. I have already sent out my Christmas cards for the year and I didn't realize some of the photos were blurry so you will just have to deal with the blurry photos when the appear LOL. Sorry about that!

If you haven't yet sent Christmas cards, never fear, it isn't too late! I think you can still send out holiday cards until January 1st. :O)

There is a sneak peek on the first card below. To make the adorable scallops, I used the new Stampin' UP Scallop Trim Border Punch that will be available for Sale-a-bration. This punch is so sleek and classy looking. I love it!!!
The snowflake is from the Stampin' UP Serene Snowflakes stamp set stamped in Bermuda Bay ink and the sentiment is from the Stampin' UP Snow Swirled stamp set stamped in Soft Suede. For cardstocks, I used Cool Caribbean (Retired In Color), Bermuda Bay, and Kraft.

MY BIG NEWS: Notice I have a fancy new watermark!?? I finally decided to design a fancy watermark for my photos here. I decided to go with SP for Scrapmaster's Paradise rather than my initials SS BECAUSE in the next year or so. . . my initials will be changing! WAHOOOOOOOOOOO!! Johnny and I have decided to finally get married, we don't have a date set, but we do know it will happen early 2011! I know it seems like a long time away, but it will be here before ya know it and we gotta start getting things planned out!

Anyway, the watermark is symbolic BECAUSE my new initials will actually be SP, just like the initials here at Scrapmaster's Paradise! Isn't that coincidental???? I don't know how or why that happened but I thought it was cute when I noticed it recently.

Muffin Love & Sneak Peek

This is a layout I made for my fiance's grandparents. I have scrapbooked these same photos before (and I will two more times actually!! HE HE HE)

For this page, I used my Piggy Tales Kit for December. There are two sneak peeks on this page. The first one is the border punch I used called Pinking Hearts. All of the hearts are from the I Heart Hearts stamp set, which will be available starting Jan 5th from the Occasions mini catalog. There is also a matching Pinking Hearts Corner punch to go along with the border punch.

For the Close to Cocoa colored hearts, I stamped them and then punched them out with the Heart to Heart punch. It was super easy to do. For the larger hearts that are Ruby Red colored, I used my Xacto knife to cut around the hearts carefully.

Happy Birthday to You Card

After much thought and consideration, I decided to step down from the Doodle Beans Digi Stamps. December will be my last month with them. I have really enjoyed being a part of their team and I will miss them very much. It was a hard decision for me to make, but I thought it was the right thing for me. Randa, the owner, is an amazing artist and an amazing person and I am so glad I got a chance to work with her.

With that said, I still have some Doodle Beans projects to share with you and here is one of them!

Big Shot Thursday

Well, my camera decided that it was out of batteries so I got blurry photos. I may get some better photos later, but at least you can get the basic idea.

Today for I'm A Big Shot challenges, the challenge was to design a box using the Scallop Envelope Bigz die. So this was my project:

I also used the new Pinking Hearts Border Punch on the Melon Mambo cardstock to create the nice border. Cricut Wednesday & SU Sneak Peek

Usually my Cricut Wednesday projects are a little "fancier" than this one.

In this layout, I used giant circles from the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge. Sometimes, simple is best and in this case, the Circles really enhance the layout. I am so glad to have the larger Cricut machine so I can create giant circles like on this layout (8.25 and 8inch circles).

For my layout, I used a sketch from ScrapSketch

The sneak peek on this layout is the Scallop Trim along the Basic Black cardstock piece. Notice there are CORNERS on there too!!!!! The Scallop Trim Border punch actually has a coordinating corner punch to go along with it! They are separate products that will be available starting January 5th (The border punch is part of Sale-a-bration and the Corner punch will be available from the Occasions Mini catalog.)
The patterned paper used here is from My Mind's Eye Where the heart is stack (green glitter paper used in the background) and the Tiffany Stack from We are Memory Keepers (the paisley patterned paper).
The larger alphas for the "Naughty" are from Piggy Tales. The smaller alphas for the "Girl" are Vinyl Thickers.
The circles were both cut using the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge. The larger circle is made from Pink Passion cardstock.
My photos are both matted using Bashful Blue cardstock.

SPCC #28 and SU Sneak Peek!

Here is a pretty simple layout I designed with the SP Color Combo #28 using some SNEAK PEEK stamps from the upcoming Occasions Mini catalog.

This is a layout for a Christmas present to Johnny's grandparents (yes, I have scrapped these exact photos before so they might look familiar if you are a SP regular LOL)
The decorative stamped image is from the Stampin' UP With All My Heart stamp set that will be coming up in the Occasions Mini catalog starting January 5th. To decorate the stamped images, I filled in the center with Distressed Stickles.
The smile title was cut from Pumpkin Pie and Always Artichoke cardstock using the Cricut Paisley cartridge.
My silly photos are matted on Always Artichoke cardstock and then I put a decorative trim at the top that I made with the Stampin' UP Scallop Trim Border punch (this punch will be available for Sale-a-bration starting January 5th)

Mission: To clean my scraproom!!! Yep, it is impossible. . .

This layout was designed for the Spunky Scrappers challenge this week. Show us your Junk!! Well, my house is pretty clean an uncluttered (for the most part at least). Aside from my mother's junk (I hope she reads this!! HA HA), the house stays pretty tidy. I really don't like clutter so this prompt was kind of a challenge for me, until I looked at my scrap desk!!!! :O)

Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and Imaginisce.
Cardstock is Stampin' UP Kraft and Handsome Hunter.
Journaling was done with the Stampin' UP Basic Black Stampin' Write marker.
The big flower inside the top circle was from my dear friend Sammye Jo (thank you!!!)
The alphas are Thickers (vinyl in black and foam in pink)
The Handsome Hunter cardstock circles were cut from the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge.

Holidays and Blogging don't mix!

I've come to the discovery that holidays and blogging simply don't mix! HA HA HAH AH A My fiance and I are now out of college for the rest of the year (we start back in mid January) and I have quickly learned that I can't get ANYTHING done while he is home with me! HA HA HA I love my fiance dearly and he and I spend the day together everyday and my blogging has fallen at the wayside over the past couple of weeks! I love him with all my heart and I wouldn't trade our precious time together for anything in the world so my fellow friends, I just wanted to let you know why it seems I can't get with the program lately.

I had such great intentions for last week and yeah, it totally didn't happen the way I planned in my head. I didn't post a single Christmas color combo. I have been crafting some behind the scenes but they are projects for people to receive as presents. They don't really fit in with my usual weekly blog schedule so for the next few weeks, things around here will continue to be a little bit different than the norm. For those of you who like my regularly scheduled blog programs, I am sorry! Those programs will be fully back in action near the start of the year.

I feel like I have been an awful blogger, especially over the last week, so over the weekend, I made projects and I am going to go back to pre-scheduling a lot of my posts at once because I still want to give you quality inspiration and quality blog posts. So today, I am taking a big chunk of time to try to get the week's posts completed.

I have had quite a few people contact me recently (maybe in the past month) and their comments really struck a cord within me. They all had comments along the lines of "You are such an inspiration", "I just love your blog", and similar happy thoughts. I truly appreciate everyone's support, and I want to keep being a source of inspiration. I love my blogger friends and my followers more than you will ever know. I have made some amazing friendships through my blogging experiences this last year as well.

This year has been a rough year for me through my battle with daily migraines and continued treatments (I have three doctors appointments in the next two weeks), but part of what has helped me through it was YOU. When I made my New Year's Resolution to become a daily blogger back in the beginning of 2009, I never in my wildest dreams thought that anyone would take notice. Pretty soon, I will be reaching 95thousand visitors and to me that is overwhelming. And so for you, I am trying to be even better, post even more great projects, and I pledge to continue in 2010.

So in a way, I guess this long winded explanation is a "Thank you", and "I'm sorry for being a slacker", AND a "pledge to keep going".

Since my posts are going to be pre-scheduled for the most part until the beginning of the year, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!!!!! I hope that you have a great holiday season with your family!!

Pink Love layout

Hey everyone! I hope you had a delightful weekend. My Sunday was nice and relaxing. I did some laundry but spent most of the day reading the third Twilight book Eclipse. I am not done with it yet so don't spoil it for me, OK? :O) He he, this is the reason I am so late to post today, I totally got sucked into the book.

My family and I also went to see The Blindside today, and it was spectacular!! Seriously, you should go see this movie!! It was really good. My mom basically cried the whole movie, and it was hard for me to hold back the tears for a lot of it. Fantastic movie!

Enough about my day, how's about I show you a layout?!

This is a layout I made of my puppy, Emma when she was younger. In the top photo you can just make out the little white leg splint from when her leg was broken (now her leg is perfect).

I made this layout using the current sketch over at Spunky Scrappers AND I combined it with some of the supplies I received from Your Memories Here as part of the design team, PRIMAS!! Gotta love 'em!!!

All patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye (Summer Song stack and Where the Heart is stack)
Prima flowers are from Your Memories Here.
In the center of the orange and purple flowers, I used Stampin' UP Build a Brads. For the inside of the brad I used markers with the Little Flowers stamp set to make my own designer brads!!!
The title was made out of two different Cricut cartridges. The Pink is from Pink Journey and the Love is from Alphalicious.
Around the edges of the patterned paper I used Close to Cocoa classic ink and a Sponge Dauber.

Stampin' With Sami Lesson: Bottlecap Embellishments

Today, I want to tell you about a cool way to use your Crystal Effects to make bottlecap embellishments.
I made these bottlecap embellishments. You can get bottlecaps from a variety of drinks and mine happened to come from Stuart's Orange Cream Soda. My fiance absolutely LOVES Stuart's Orange Cream Soda and Goose Isle Orange Cream Soda. He is very particular about which brands of orange cream soda that he likes, but the Goose Isle brand is not sold in stores around here any longer so it has to be special ordered. Anyway, enough digressions LOL.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

Patterned Paper or cardstock
1inch Circle Punch
Bottlecaps (I flattened mine with a hammer)
Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive
Crystal Effects

STEPS:

Punch out circles of patterned paper or cardstock (mine shown above was made out of cardstock and a small heart from the Stampin' UP Heart to Heart Punch).
Attach circle punch outs to the top of the bottle caps with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive.
Cover entire circle with Crystal Effects.
Let dry and attach it to your project.

Sneak Peek Hearts Card

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I have a sneak peek card for you tonight. I also have a layout to post for Cricut Wednesday but my the time I post it, it might be for Cricut Thursday since it is so late :O)

The card below is a SNEAK PEEK of two different stamp sets! The hearts are from the Stampin' UP I Heart Hearts stamp set and the sentiment is from the With All My Heart stamp set. Both of these stamp sets will be available starting January 5th in either wood mounted or rubber unmounted option!!! How cool is that!!

This card is also the first time for me using the Stampin' UP Scallop Envelope die for my Big Shot! I just adore this cute little envelope. I had forgotten about ordering it a while ago HE HE.

I also embossed the Whisper White background cardstock with the Perfect Details Texturz plate.

The little hearts from the I Heart Hearts stamp set fit the Heart to Heart punch so I just used the punch to punch out all my hearts and it was super easy to make the card.

Lullaby Card

Here is my first ever SNEAK PEEK from the upcoming Stampin' UP Mini Catalog. I will have more sneak peeks all week long :O)

Here's a sneak peek of the Little Angel stamp set and the Pinking Hearts Border Punch. This card was made using a sentiment stamp from the Stampin' Up Little Angel stamp set.

I also made this for my Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo #27

For the Kraft cardstock, I used the Stampin' UP Perfect Details Texturz plate to emboss the background with my Big Shot.
The sentiment is from the Stampin' UP Little Angel stamp set. I purchased the new UNMOUNTED Rubber option for my stamp set and it was pretty neat!! I stamped it in Close to Cocoa Classic Ink and then colored in the ampersand (and symbol) with a Brocade Blue Stampin' Write marker.
The teddy bear die cut was made using the Cricut A Child's Year cartridge. It was cut from Bashful Blue cardstock. I added some accents to the teddy bear using the Creamy Caramel Stampin' Write Marker.
The square is made from Brocade Blue cardstock. I used the new Stampin' UP Pinking Hearts border punch along the bottom of the square and then rounded the top corners with the Corner Rounder punch.

Glitter Ornaments

Happy Monday Everyone!! The rest of the week, I am going to be posting SNEAK PEEKS from the upcoming Stampin' UP Occasions Mini Catalog which comes out January 5th. Today I wanted to share the ornaments I made.

I did NOT come up with this idea on my own, but I have adapted the original idea so that you can make ornaments in ANY Stampin' UP Color!!!! How exciting is that?!

Here is our Christmas tree. We use a faux tree because my mom is SEVERELY allergic to the real ones (she broke out in hives one year and we have never tried a real tree again!!)

All those ball ornaments were made with GLITTER!!!! YAY!!

Now for some of my ornaments, I used colored fine glitter, but for others, I created my own Stampin' UP colored ornaments by using Classic Reinkers in Kiwi Kiss, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, and Rich Razzleberry. Just follow the steps below:

SUPPLIES NEEDED:
*Classic Reinker of your color choice
*Stampin' UP Dazzling Diamonds glitter
*Pledge liquid floor wax with Future Floor Shine (it is in a clear bottle with a blue cap, in the cleaning isle)
*Clear glass ball ornaments
*LOTS of paper towels (this is messy!!!)
*Powder Pal Trays
STEPS:
1. Take off the top of the clear ornament.

2. Pour a small amount of Pledge with Future Floor Shine into ornament.

3. Pour 2-3 drops of Classic Reinker into the ball ornament. I am using a retired Kiwi Kiss Classic Reinker for the sample ball ornament.

4. Swirl the liquid around until the entire inside of the ornament is coated (you can use a piece of plastic, paper towel, or your finger to plug up the hole while you are swirling, I just used my finger LOL)

5. Pour out excess liquid and discard.

6. Pour glitter into ornament over the powder pal tray.

7. Swirl glitter around until the entire inside of the ornament is coated with glitter.

8. Let the ornament dry and then replace the top of the ornament. And VOILA, you have your own customized ornaments!!!
