thought I'd show some of the stuff I've been working on lately. For those who dont know, my senior project is building a small business doing silkscreen t-shirts. So to learn the silkscreen aspect I've been going to a class in the city at SVA. This work is my 3rd piece ever working with silkscreening. And I put over 12 hours into making 19 pieces of art. I will try to explain the process through these pictures:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkZJNjT4knI/AAAAAAAAA1I/Wq1R99CCRks/s1600-h/IMG_9672.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkZJNjT4knI/AAAAAAAAA1I/Wq1R99CCRks/s320/IMG_9672.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352045704342180466"></a><br />I am taping my screen here so that the water doesn't get in and warp the board.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkZJNwTrS6I/AAAAAAAAA1Q/eTXw4KH9Qd0/s1600-h/IMG_9674.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkZJNwTrS6I/AAAAAAAAA1Q/eTXw4KH9Qd0/s320/IMG_9674.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352045707830971298"></a><br />The board is fully taped.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkZJOEh1PuI/AAAAAAAAA1Y/hn8VzSsvVFM/s1600-h/IMG_9702.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkZJOEh1PuI/AAAAAAAAA1Y/hn8VzSsvVFM/s320/IMG_9702.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352045713259052770"></a><br />The exposure takes place.<br /><br />This part is a little more complicated to explain. Before, in a dark room, put a coating called emulsion on the flat side of my screen. Emulsion is a light sensitive substance. Once the emulsion is dry you put it in the exposing maching directly on top of your piece of art. You piece of art must be on a paper that lets light through where there is no drawing but prevents the light from coming through where there is. Where the light comes through (ie in the open areas around your drawing) the emulsion is developed, no paint can get through. Where the light did not penetrate (ie your drawing) the emulsion is still wet and can be washed away so that your screen is still open in those areas.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkZJOTGKNCI/AAAAAAAAA1g/44t3pGroABw/s1600-h/IMG_9704.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkZJOTGKNCI/AAAAAAAAA1g/44t3pGroABw/s320/IMG_9704.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352045717169517602"></a><br />You can see my original art here. Each screen you make is only for one part of your drawing/art. So you can use many different colors but to put my whole piece together I had to make 4 different screen. going through the same process each time. And then on top of that to change the color in any single screen required a full wash, dry, and realignment, as well as mixing the paint and cutting the paper. But here are the results:<br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkZNvQ3s1-I/AAAAAAAAA1w/JTdIqhOB24A/s1600-h/IMG_9707.JPG"><img style="display:block; If you need help getting that installed just leave a comment, but I may do a guide later on. Also many of these themes may not have a custom icon for every single app. However I will try to include the forum threads or DevientART page where you can find updates/ request icons. This list is in no particular order, it is just a list of my personal favorites. <br /><br />Every single theme can be downloaded through the links. But the links are NOT direct downloads.<br /><br />1. Radiance/ Radiance 2 - Shubham Kedia<br /><br />"Radiance 2.0 Theme<br />by Shubham Kedia<br />150 icons provided; includes 2.0 jailbroken apps and AppStore apps.<br />Badge, Dock, and Battery, included in the "Bundles/com.apple.springboard" folder<br />Shadow issue in 2.0 fixed, correct shadow in UIImages folder.<br />100 AppStore icons made by misecia. All credit goes to him.<br />Dock from Jon's Harmonicons."<br /><br />Download Links: <a href="http://kediashubham.deviantart.com/art/Radiance-2-0-for-iPhone-93769387">DeviantART page</a>, <a href="http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16787981">MacThemes page </a>, <a href="http://www.box.net/shared/iqn5bpj9mc">Extra icon pack</a><br /> <br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk145/kediashubham/Radiance2Preview.png"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 500px; height: 432px;" src="http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk145/kediashubham/Radiance2Preview.png" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><br />This theme is very well designed. The icons are heavily modified in a tasteful and beautiful way. (as they are in almost all of these themes) Probably the best thing is how much these colors pop off of the screen. To cap it all off there is a huge amount of extra custom icons for almost every app you need. And even icons that aren't skinned for this theme fit very well with this theme making it unique in that way. This has been one of my favorites for a long time.<br /><br />2. Glaskart - Max Rudberg<br /><br />"Out-of-the-way transparent Winterboard theme that let's you really showcase your wallpaper. Glasklart is swedish, word by word it means "glass clear".<br />Now includes 1500+ icons! 120 I created on my own, the rest has been graciously crafted by the MacThemes community <br />The theme also comes with custom badges, lock screen sliders, popup dialogs and SMS bubbles.<br />Best combined with the "User Wallpaper" theme in Winterboard."<br /><br />Download Links: <a href="http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16790588&p=1">MacThemes page</a><br /><br />These pictures are from my own phone: <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkErY7gcSCI/AAAAAAAAAzo/L-2Ig1uo3XI/s1600-h/photo-1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkErY7gcSCI/AAAAAAAAAzo/L-2Ig1uo3XI/s320/photo-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350605539583477794" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkEryYzV8GI/AAAAAAAAAz4/QovRpMUrPBw/s1600-h/photo.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mWkI8SetnEc/SkEryYzV8GI/AAAAAAAAAz4/QovRpMUrPBw/s320/photo.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350605976944111714" /></a><br /><br />This theme is so unique. It is a far cry from the original iPhone theme, with transparent icons and a new unlock screen. You can use any background you want, it can create some really nice effects. It has nice new skin for notifications and the homescreen iPod controls. Of all of the themes I have tried this one has the most icons. This is currently my favorite theme.<br /><br />3. Gradiance v 3.0 - misecia<br /><br />Over 1400 icons, UI elements, lockscreen, wallpapers, LiveTime theme, Weather theme.<br /><br />To see ALL of the icons click <a href="http://lewin.co.il/themr/project.php?id=5">here</a><br /><br />Links: <a href="http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16790668">MactThemes page</a>, <a href="http://misecia.deviantart.com/art/Gradiance-v3-3-103371199">DeviantART page</a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://fc38.deviantart.com/fs39/i/2008/337/e/3/Gradiance_v3_2_by_misecia.png"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 480px;" src="http://fc38.deviantart.com/fs39/i/2008/337/e/3/Gradiance_v3_2_by_misecia.png" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><br />This theme is superb. There are so many icons and the detail in each is amazing. It is a very laid back theme, not too flashy but very very useable. The author is very dedicated and there is huge community support. The author also contributed greatly to the Radiance theme. Much like the Radiance theme, unmodded icons look fine in this theme giving it great versatility.<br /><br /><br />4. Matt Nano - by Shubham Kedia and Pierre Breteau<br /><br />This theme works very well with the mattUI - <a href="http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16792850">see it here</a><br /><br />Download Links: <a href="http://rapidshare.com/files/235623458/Matte_Icons.7z">Download extra 1400 icons</a>, <a href="http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16793626&p=1">MacThemes page</a>, <a href="http://kediashubham.deviantart.com/art/Matte-Nano-theme-for-iPhone-113755933">DeviantART page</a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk145/kediashubham/Preview1001.png"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 473px; height: 480px;" src="http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk145/kediashubham/Preview1001.png" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><br />This theme is really beautiful. It is slick and clean looking. The icons are all smaller, making it perfect or Five icon Dock, or Fivelrow (I will cover these addons in a different post) There is a huge member following so basically any icon is available. The one drawback is that if you cannot find a custom icon the original icon looks very out of place. But over all it is a great theme.<br /><br />5. Classica - Dustin<br /><br />"With no further avail, I present Classica, my attempt at an iPhone/iPod replacement set in the default style."<br /><br />Download Links: <a href="http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16788028">MacThemes</a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.dustinschau.com/downloads/classica/preview.png"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 480px;" src="http://www.dustinschau.com/downloads/classica/preview.png" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><br />This theme is for those who want to keep that classic iPhone look with the minimal variation. In my opinion it cleans up the default UI, it seems more professional and sharp. The added plus is that of default icon of any app fits in very well with this app because the shape is almost indistinguishable.<br /><br />6.
