Are You Ready For The Weekend?

I know that I am excited about this weekend. My daughter Hannah is turning 4. We are going to Chuck E Cheese. She had her 1st birthday party there, but doesn't remember it. So this Sunday, she is going to be in heaven. I bought her a Dora Explorer bike that she is going to LOVE. She has a Dora tricycle, but this one is a regular bike with training wheels. She will now be able to ride bikes with her 2 older sisters. Besides her birthday, we have another party on Saturday to go to as well. So Hannah is going to have lots of fun for her birthday weekend!

Since I have a new digital camera, I will be sure to post a picture or two!

A Cool Home

Having a hot summer? I don't really like the heat. So after complaining so much about being miserable, we finally upgraded our home and got a new air conditioner unit. When I moved into the home I own, it had one of those old fashioned swamp coolers. Those things should have never been invented. The old unit would cool off the living room a little, but also made it humid. Also if you have leather couches, you are going to deal with being sticky, instead of being comfortable. We have gone a couple summers now with it and wanted to switch to something else, just never got around to doing it. Well, I am now enjoying some cool air conditioned air right now. We have an air conditioner unit for the room too. Now, my hot summer days can be a little more relaxing. When getting a new air conditioner for your home, you might want to read the directions before you begin. We kind of installed ours at a slant and have a little excessive drip. For those that don't like reading directions in Arizona, they might call Carrier Air installation in Arizona. Luxury is always nice!

I have always wanted to own a nice aquarium with some exotic salt water fish. I remember my mom taking me to the pet store and I would always ask for a fish from the salt water tank. She used to tell me they were too much maintenance. Ever since, I have always thought of salt water fish as high maintenance too!

That doesn't stop me from wanting to own some. I plan on it in the future when my children are a little older. I need to read and learn about the fish before I can buy them. Hopefully it isn't too complicated. I sure wouldn't want to buy a bunch of fish and not know how to take care of them.

Enjoying Reviewing Products

The last couple weeks, I have been spending a large amount of time at The Warrior Forum. Of all the forums that I receive traffic from, this would be forum that brings me the most traffic. I enjoy the forum as well. It is full of questions and answers from all sorts of different internet marketing topics.

I have also met quite a few interesting people on the forum as well. The last couple days I have received a few different info products to review and give a testimonial for. Now this is a great way to get a product for FREE. If you visit the forum, you will find different people asking for testimonials in the JV section. I wish I could spend more time doing this, but I have other things on my plate too!

I am looking forward to seeing the few testimonials I have done on their sites once they are live. Hey, maybe I might get a few extra visitors to my site from them too!

Looking For Outdoor Shutters?

We have been doing a little re-modeling to our house this past couple weeks. We finally decided to put up blinds in our bedroom. We had some old ugly green curtains hanging. Those went into the trashcan. We also installed an air conditioner unit in the wall in replacement of the old run down swamp cooler we had. My house that I live in was owned by my grandmother. I am the second owner and lets say she didn't remodel anything since 1958. I have owned it over 2 years now and have changed it dramatically.

My next thing I want to look into is getting exterior shutters for the house. I need some especially for our kitchen window that gets a ton of sun. I have always wanted wood shutters for my home. I wouldn't mind what kind of wood as long as they looked good.

Kid Safety At Day Care

What we should do?

1, Always keep your child neat and clean. 2, Cut the nails properly,
regularly and with utmost care.

3, Wet and soiled diapers should be removed promptly and child
cleaned thoroughly.

4, Take care of the genitals because fungal infection is common in
that area. Parts should be kept dry.

5,Care of the scalp is very important.Fungal infections, dermatitis
ect can be prevented by proper cleaning.

6,Tight fitting clothing can cause irritation, hence clothes should
be loose and allow entry of air.

7,Room should have sufficient light and ventilation. It should be
free from dust and insects.

8,Seperate bed preferably water proof is needed for kids.

9, Always keep some music making toys near babies and children.

10, While carrying a baby support the head with hand. Since the neck
muscles are weak a sudden fall of head can be dangerous.

11, Mothers milk is the best nutrition for the baby,it also gives
emotional attachment. Breast milk should be given as per the babies
need preferably with mom in sitting position. Proper cleaning of
nipple is also necessary. Mom should have a good nutritious diet
throughout lactating period.

12, Bottle feeding moms should clean,
sterilise and keep dry feeding bottles.

13, Microwave heating of drinks is not recommended due to possibility
of scalding.

14, Milk, fibers, food and cosmetics can cause allergies. If child is
exhibiting an allergic reaction try to discover the offending allergen
through a process of elimination.

15, Always use mosquito nets. Malaria, filariasis, dengue and yellow
fever are spread through bites.

Sleep can also be disturbed due to itchy, enflamed skin eruptions.

16, Ensure you have a calm, consistent bedtime routine to encourage
healthy sleep. Kids need lots of sleep. Growth hormones kick in during
REM so napping kids are busy.

17, As kids pass the different age milestones keep a record of
language, growth, behavioral, motor and

personal social development. Everyone is different so parents
shouldn't panic if slight variations are noted.

18, Regular measurement of weight and height is essential to asses
growth.

19, Expect lots of poops after most feeds in the early days. Initiate
toilet training as child gets more independent. Introduce the sitting
on the toilet seat from 10 months.

20. Always thoroughly sanitise the toilet seat. Sharing with other
kids isn't encouraged.

21, Call the doctor is child exhibits the following signs or
symptoms; convulsions, difficulty breathing, excessive crying, fever
with rigor, frequent vomiting with diarrhoea, stiffness of neck or
bluish discoloration of the body.

22, Keep a fully stocked first aid kit to hand which should contain
dressing, sterile cotton and antiseptic lotion. Note all emergency
numbers and keep in an obvious place.

23, Keep all child medications in a seperate box. Note all dosage and
administration details.

24, Ensure you have the correct car seat fitted.

25, Attach an identity card to your child's clothes with your address
and telephone number.

26, Supervise a child learning to walk to minimize accidents.

27, In the event of an accident perform necessary first aid steps and
get victim to hospital asap.

The Do Nots

1, No shaking baby as it can cause brain damage.

2, Remove any small items in vicinity of child.

3, Same goes for sharp or pointed items.

4, When in the bath don't let water get into the ears.

5, If a child is coughing or crying a lot don't try to get them to
eat.

6, Careful you don't overfeed.

7, Keep any dangerous or toxic substances out of child's reach.

8, Ensure child's clothing is not restrictive.

9, Care should be taken if your baby is on the bed that they do not
fall off.

10, Avoid close contact with lots of people and never hand your baby
to a stranger.

11, Childproof all electrical sockets and wires.

12, Kitchens are full of potential dangers. Never leave a child alone
there.

13,
Supervise your child the entire time they are in the tub. Keep water
level low.

14, Don't smoke around children.

15, Keep pets at a distance (ensure they have received all shots).

16, Install gates on stairs where young children are crawling or
wobbling.

17, Avoid strong light in the bedroom.

18, Don't accept food from strangers when travelling.

19, Don't allow a child to crawl in the dirt.

20, Keep kids away from sick people.

21, Avoid areas of pollution, large crowds and hospital wards.

22, Keep free standing lights away from kids.

23, Never give medicine that has been prescribed for someone else to
your child.

24, If medication has passed the expiry date do not use it.

I have always wondered how cell phones really work. I thought I would research the topic and post my findings.

There are millions of people around the world using cell phones. People are even calling other countries from their cell phones. This is quite amazing to me. Can you imagine if there wasn't such a thing called a cell phone. For the older readers, remember when there was rotary phones. Back then when the newer phones came out with the "tone" option, millions were excited to not hear the noise for each number you dialed on a phone. Having a "tone" phone was cool. Now you are not cool to many if you don't have the latest cell phone out.

But have you really ever thought about how a cell phone works? Well, the answer mainly comes from what is called cell phone towers. These cell phone towers come in all sizes and shapes. It can also be referred to as a cell phone site. Here is the Wikipedia definition of a cell phone site

Are you a frequent flyer? I can't say that I am. I am actually afraid of planes. If you are one that flies, have you heard of airline credit cards? Baby Update

My son is growing by the day. At his last doctor appointment last month, he was 19lbs. They said he is very healthy and doing everything he is supposed to! Yesterday he did his first roll over. Now I am going to have to be on my toes watching him because he is getting his freedom now. In no time, the little guy is going to be walking. He also got to eat oatmeal cereal for the first time yesterday. He has been eating rice cereal the last couple weeks and loves it.

I think he is teething too! What is great about being a work at home mom is I get to see all his first things that he does! I love it!!!

Have you heard of Nouveau Riche University? It is a cool real estate investment college located in Phoenix Arizona. What is cool about this university to me is that they offer a home study program. For those with families like me, you know that is a huge bonus! This college enables students to select their courses with different curriculum paths. These courses are not what you expect either, you are not going to sit in a classroom for months. The courses that I seen are about three to six hours to complete.

ave you guys heard of LilaGuide? It is an online parenting community. You can read all sorts of reviews on different places local to you. You can also submit your own reviews. They have groups and forums, it is a pretty cool website.

Since I am a work at home mom, they emailed me asking me to setup a work at home group on their site. So I just recently did that.

What also is cool is when you submit 10 reviews, you receive a $5 gift card to Target. The reviews are not big long reviews either, just a few sentences on your opinion. I thought this would be great for moms to start earning some extra giftcards for Christmas gifts.

Like The Chicago Cubs?

If you are in the Chicago area, you can be soon in for a treat if you like baseball. If you are a Chicago Cubs fan, you will want to watch the game from a different view then you are probably used to. If watching a game was on your list to do, try to see it from a rooftop. The Sheffield Baseball Club has over 9,000 square feet of viewing area on three different levels. The rooftop overlooks Wrigley Field and includes an elevator to take you there. You won't want to go alone either! If you have a party or event to cater, try having it at Sheffield Baseball Club. They have some food to try that sounds delicious. They have steak, a Tex-Mex fajita bar, BBQ'd food, Italian food, etc. You won't want to miss out on the appetizers either. How about some scallops wrapped in bacon? Sounds pretty yummy to me.

I have always been a fan of baseball. I played softball for a few years when I was younger. Once I got my first car though, playing sports kinda went on the back burner. I don't mind watching a game though. Watching one live is even better. I live in California and have been to the Oakland A's games and San Francisco Giants. I didn't have a rooftop view though! Don't get me wrong, we had good seats, but they didn't have all that tasty food available to us. If you are in the area, get yourself some Cubs rooftop seats.

Most people will tell you that credit cards are bad. I actually cut mine all up to start paying off debt. They can be bad if you don’t know how to manage your money wisely. Make Money With Squidoo – A Mom’s Dream Come True

Parents, especially moms are constantly trying to think of ways to make money at home. As a natural instinct, mothers want to be the one to raise their newborn children, not put them in daycare. I have been there myself. I worked the full time job while my grandmother watched my daughter. It took me some time, but I was able to quit my job and work strictly from home. I am now helping other moms find ways to make money at home too!

There is a very popular website that not many moms are aware of. This site I am referring to is Squidoo. This is a social website that allows it’s users to create one page websites called lens. Squidoo was created by an internet marketing guru who wanted to create an easy way for everyone to make some extra money. How you make money with Squidoo is by creating quality lens that other visitor’s are going to want to view and buy from. There are a few ways that you can make money by creating lens on Squidoo, not just one.

When creating a lens on Squidoo, you are given the option to add different modules. These are modules such as text boxes, polls, guestbooks, etc. Included in these modules are ones from Amazon and Ebay. When you add these modules, you can let Amazon or Ebay pick was is going to be displayed on your lens, or you can choose select items of your choice. When a visitor views your lens and clicks the Amazon or Ebay item and makes a purchase, you are going to make a commission. You have to share this commission though with Squidoo. If you don’t want to share, you can signup for an Amazon Associate account and place Amazon products one your page this way. The benefit of using the Amazon or Ebay module is saving time.

A second way you can earn money through your lens is by promoting your own product or service. If you have no product or service, you can signup for affiliate programs. You then would write about the product and include your affiliate link on your lens. When the visitor views your lens and makes a purchase, you make commission through the affiliate program. Some of the popular affiliate programs being used with this are Clickbank and Commission Junction.

The third way you can make money with your lens is by Google. When you create a lens, Google ads are automatically placed on your lens. When visitors come to your site and click the Google Ads, money is being made. The money from the Google ads on your lens is placed in a pool. The pooled revenue is used to first pay overhead and then the remaining is allocated to the lens. The allocation of this revenue is based on the LensRank and traffic to the lenses. It will be important to gain lots of traffic to your lens to receive this type of revenue.

The last way to make money with Squidoo that I am aware of is by referring others. When a visitor comes to your site and signs up for a FREE account with Squidoo, they become your referral. If they accumulate $15.00 in revenue from their lens, you will earn $5.00. You can view your referrals at any time by visiting the Dashboard in Squidoo and going to “My Stats”.

Now you can see where this is a moms dream come true. Moms and dads can create lenses on stuff they are interested in and earn money doing so. It actually can become a hobby to that is rewarding. One thing to remember is you won’t make money overnight with this. It might take a few months if not longer for your lens to start generating income. You will want to promote your lens as much as possible for the best results.

Are You In Debt?

I wish I could say that I wasn't in debt. I am in debt, but nothing that I can't currently handle. Most of my debt comes from old student loans that I put off forever to start paying on. I worked for 8 years at a collection agency and seen many different credit reports from all sorts of people. You might think you are really bad in debt, but it may not be as bad as it seems. I have seen people with horrible credit, HUGE tax liens and judgments from all kinds of creditors. I used to be a paralegal and would have to prepare lawsuits for those that refused to pay that had assets.

If you are in debt and thinking of bankruptcy, be sure to weigh your options. Be sure that that is your only choice. I say this because it stays on your credit for 10 years. Now, I know there are those that really need to file. Then, there are those that file that should have done something else. Decorating Mexican Style

I would love to be able to afford to remodel my house. We have done what we can do, but I can always dream. When I first purchased my house, we replaced the yucky carpet with tile floors. I just wish I would have picked different tile. If I could have afforded it, I would have chosen to go with some stylish tile such as Saltillo Tile. This type of tile is one of the most famous produts in the Mexican city of Salitillo, Coahuila. These tiles vary slightly in color and shape, but make a room look great. My tile is black and looks dirty when its clean. If you have a deck or back area of your home to decorate, they even have outdoor saltillo tile to choose from.
