John Romero of ID Software fame got a hold of an old video of him playing the original Doom video game before it was even finished... It's about 21-minutes long and pretty interesting with the others from ID watching him play and commenting on various things...

So if you got time to kill and I'm sure most everyone does, "clicky on the pic" and enjoy the footage.. One note: You get to see a lot of ID's offices tho John Rockin' out with Doom is a ways into the video...

I'm not even finished getting through Doom III and I find out ID is getting Doom 4 ready for release... Geeze!!! where have I been?... You can read the blurb here: id expecting to sign Doom 4 deal 'later this year,' publisher unknown... The stories from Joystiq so ya gotta know it's true... hahaha

OnLive, a Blessing for Poor Gamers or A Lot of Frustration?

Well I'm hoping this thing works out for us that can't afford to purchase new components or computers every time someone comes out with a game like Crysis that won't run on anything short of a main frame...

One of the biggest things that attracts me to this service is the fact it will, supposedly works on old PC's & Mac's and I would assume there would be Linux support at some time tho you never know...

Miss Playing Those Old DOS Games?. Well I Sure Do.

Castle Wolfenstein was my very first game and from then on I was hooked... Next it was the Duke Nukem Series and before Duke Nukem 3D came out I was hooked on Rise of the Triad (ROTT)... ROTT had some innovative game play like the trampolines, a real God Mode where you could throw Fireballs and other neat things and the funny Dog Mode which came in handy many times...

Well I could have tried DOSBox to gets some of those games running but I never figured out how to use it... I did stumble upon a Duke Nukem 3D Port over at JanoF's Games and Stuff, and a link to the High Resolution Pack for the game here: Duke Nukem High Resolution Pack and I was a happy camper but I still wanted to play Rise of the Triad and a few others...

I was surfing around like I usually do and ran across this site: GOG.COM and what did I find you ask??? Well they have a pretty good sized collection of those old games that they have fixed the code for and got working with Windows XP & VISTA using DOSBox ... COOL I'd say!!!

So if you got the hunger why not drop on by their site and see if you can find any of your old favorites... The Price is Right on these games for sure... $5.99 each for hours of fun that could bring back some of your early gaming excitement, just purchase and download it couldn't get any easier than that... If you got Squirrels running around your yard and climbing the trees and your basically tired of seeing them naked on a daily basis you could always get a few pairs of these for them: Squirrel Underpants , hey what the hell you wouldn't be the one to have to wash them and the squirrels would look a little less naked to you and your neighbors... What a deal for $5.99!!! Hahahahaha

Why?...

Well just look at this poor little simple guy that finds the best in everything. He loves his job and does it diligently, he savours simple human trinkets and cares for his pet Roach (I mean come on, would you take a Roach for a pet alone actually feed it???, NOT!!!).

WALL-E has enough curiosity to kill every LOLCat on this planet yet he is the only romantic left on a Dying Earth devoid of Humans and he Loves Musicals to boot!!!... What more could you want from a story that tells US of what will happen because we became so lame that taking care of the Planet that gave US Life and Sustains US so far will actually survive no matter what we do to destroy it and we will more than likely this time be the ones that future alien explorers and scientists find as Fossils... Earth will survive without US and WALL-E's lucky enough to find Love along the way...

What more could you want from life or a great movie???

You know how stinky those things can become after ignoring it for months on end and if your just not into "Personal Hygiene" or taking a "Shower" Just do a simple "Sink Bath" before getting into the car and take your lazy ass into the bathroom and pick up a cheap & simple Q-Tip run it under some warm water and run it over your favourite bar of soap and clean that "Nasty Stinky Thing Out!!!!!"...

I'm knocking at your back Door!!!... Ted Nugent couldn't have said it better and the one thing I really like about Ted is: He & his family eat pretty much everything he kills...

So why the Cryptic Title you ask?... Weeeeell, as of late I have been hanging out at YouTube catching on bands that I had never gotten to see live all those years ago and I ran across a few Deep Purple ones that I really dug and there happened to be a few studio ones of their comeback CD "Perfect Strangers", hence the song: Knocking at Your Back Door " and the lyrical snippet from it: "It's Not the Kill, It's the Thrill of the Chase"... After reading the Lyrics I got the impression it was about Oral Sex but then again it could be about something else tho I doubt it... hahahaha

So while watching a lot of vids I ran across a bunch from the California Jam around 1974 which you can find here at Youtube: California Jam 1&2... Lot's of good performances and one thing I noticed was the "Rainbow" backdrop on the stage that led me to think after watching all the Deep Purple vids from that show that that is were Ritchie Blackmore got the idea for the name of his next band "Blackmore's Rainbow or just Rainbow"... Yup I think that's where he got it from...

Since we're on the subject of bands, there's and interesting article over at The Herald Sun in Australia talking about AC/DC's latest CD Black Ice and how their release of Back in Black was around the time of high inflation and unemployment in the UK and now with this release the world is looking at the biggest global recession in decades... I found a couple of new gaming sites you may want to check out... First up is Crispy Gamer which I found out about over at GigaOM... Seems Crispy netted around 8.25mil in funding to try and take on the sites like Gamespot and IGN (that is going to take some doing for sure)... One thing that turned me off immediately about Crispy Gamer was the look of the site, for some reason I just can't get into that theme at all... The second is the Sci Fi Channels attempt into the gaming arena with Fidgit... Figit??? what the hell kinda name is that for a gaming site???... It's with a Lot of Sadness That I Am Posting This...

As of this Friday past our other sites LifeTime Gamer Arcade, LifeTime Gamer.com, LifeTime Gamer Video, ExchangeBanners.org & Bass Fishing Resource Center are no longer online...

There are a few reasons for this, like some technical issues but mostly it is because the rising costs of doing business online a long with the rising personal costs of me trying to stay a live and pay bills...

About a year after I started this Blog a friend gave me exchangebanners.org which started my life as a Webmaster while I was still looking for a real full time job... I dived into the challenge and used every spare minute to grow that site a long with this one and to this date exchangebanners.org had grown from around 400+ members to over 930+ in the short time I had it... I have to pat myself on the back for the growth tho the site never really made any money but it also was not costing me very much, maybe around $10 per month...

After a move to a new state and a time to start over and look for real work, I started LifeTime Gamer Arcade cause I thought it would be fun to play around with and maybe make a few dollars while doing it... Well as you can see that didn't work out either but it was a great ride, tho it was the site that caused the increases in server costs and part of the events that just happened... I did have fun messing with the templates and such so I can say I did learn the most from this site... I am impressed that in it's short span online it did get more than half a million visitors and nearly 500 members...

Since I had the server I started LifeTime Gamer Video which was a free script and I didn't have to host any of the videos so that was cool... This site was a bit of a pain since the Template was totally messed up and I was not about to spend any money to have a new one created, so I just fixed it the best I could and let it run like that...

LifeTime Gamer.com was just a landing page but was going to be in the future the Portal to all the LifeTime Gamer Sites and other gamer related content... Well like the others it is now gone...

Bass Fishing, Bass Fishing Resource Center was a site I bought for around $20 and since I had the server I stuck it on there and just promoted it to see if I could take it as far as I did ExchangeBanners.org and LifeTimeGamerArcade.com...

The other things involved are the problem of getting a decent paying job that can utilize my skills and the fact of the economy, gas prices and the cost of an apartment that is going to go up nearly $400 soon which basically kills any option to keep websites running let a lone have internet access or a phone or basic cable TV...

As for this site since it is free it will be here but I am in a "Numbed Mode" right now at the loss of my other sites since I put every waking moment into them for around 16 months and I'm not sure when I will get back here and at least do some decent posting...

Right now I have to consider keeping a roof over my head and eating plus paying the bills I have besides trying to find a better paying job so I can continue doing that... I hope in the future I can bring the sites back but I would really be starting over again and I am not sure I could get them back to where they just were... I thought about selling them but I spend way to much time and money Branding LifeTime Gamer and I don't want to lose what will be 4-years worth of my time in August of this year... So I will keep all the domain names since the cost of those once every couple of years is not that much...

For those who were members of ExchangeBanners.org, LifeTime Gamer Arcade & LifeTime Gamer Video, I am sorry you were not emailed about this but most members of those sites did not opt-in for email updates concerning the sites...

So now I have a lot of time on my hands to find a better job and consider my loses... It hasn't sunk in yet but I keep looking at the Favicons in Firefox for all my sites and I am sad...

Do you hate those sites that just can't seem to get enough of just doing a "The Week in BlahBlah.com" on Friday, cause they think most of us are too lazy to surf the site cause we are busy with our jobs, family, sex, drugs, video games, love of chocolate, food, making money and those other little secrets that we tell no one?

Now they so deem it necessary have to do a "Today in BlahBlah.com!" WTF!!!

First off, "The Week IN", "Today IN?"... Shouldn't it be ON!!!! as in a online website?, also as in you have to get "On The Internet" to be able to view it... This is not an Actual Magazine that you have to look through the pages and buy at the local market or newstand for crying outloud... Anyways for me it's relaxing to take my time and look around a website I'm interested in rather than just hit the highlights if I've had a tough day...

Oh well such is me...

Ahh now for some new Gaming sites I found...

Video Game Media is a cool new site that I just ran across and is adding some new features that I haven't seen on any other sites in this format, like: Latest Ticker tape news items, Stock Quotes, Press Releases (ya I seen this on other sites), Latest Screenshots (yup seen that one), Previews (also Yep)... But they do seem to have all of it on one site which is very nice so it's worth checking them out for sure...

Another cool site I found is: GAMERDEALS.net... Which is a site dedicated to finding Gamers the best online Deals they can, tho I'm not sure it it is run by any real gamers... It seems it's the same set where both of these were filmed and not to take anything away from Phil but both these people, err mammals have more hair than he does... hahahaha

He's still a great drummer and one of my favorites!!!!... Lunch Phil???, call me!...

Oh yeah, why do all these women in the new SciFi Series "Flash Gordon" look like the "Twiggies of 2007?"... I mean yeah they all have very pretty faces but the Bods of a toothpick, geeze I thought I deserved better after watching that channel since the day it aired...

Games???, did someone say Games??? Yeah I downloaded the Unreal Tournament 3 (Demo) and have been playing around with that... I have to say it plays nicer with my old ATI 800 Vid Card than Crysis does... Same Game play, Cool Maps and the only thing I see that's better as far as Graphics is the weapon you happen to be holding in your right hand at the moment...

I'll give it a day or so but I'm willing to bet there's not much new with this 3rd try...

Oh well go figure...

Halo 3 Mania or Why I Downloaded the Crysis Single Player Demo...

Well, I don't own a Xbox so no use in buying Halo.. haha

I loved the look of the Crysis Screen Caps & Teaser Video's so I had to check out the playable Demo... It's got some nice game play but the only thing is on my machine my Graphics Card can't handle the high settings... Bummer and I'm not about to shell out a few hundred bucks so I can just play this game, hell I still haven't finished Doom III, Quake 4 or PREY... hahahahahaha

As for Halo 3 I would like to see that one first hand, guess I'll have to find a friend who has it and go over for a play...

Yep you read it right, we have just launched: LifeTime Gamer Video!... We could have just added a Video Section to LifeTime Gamer Arcade, but with all the games we intend to add plus over 13,000 Video's we have in the Video Database I figured the site would get bogged down with traffic and start to slow down and I want our visitors to have the fastest loading times and enjoy both sites...

LifeTime Gamer Video also updates every night so there are new video's to watch each day and you can do a browser refresh and see new ones displayed all the time... Check out the categories at the top to see all the video's on the site...

What is Glinkster you ask?... Well I'm about to tell you of course but first a bit of background on the subject... I had a Personal Message from Clayton Hwang on MyBlogLog and he turned me on to his new site that is kinda like Digg but totally for Gamers featuring News & Information and some of our games... Sooooo I checked it out and put their button on our Arcade and that's it... Of course it's a great site for gamers that do not have sites of their own and those that do to post gaming news and other information for everyone to read... And to that end Clayton was kind enough to feature us on their Blog... I know your just dying to go check it out so what are you waiting for?... While I was wandering around the Netty I ran across this article by Shane over at Oh Gizmo! showcasing Belkins new "SpeedPad" gaming controller... I have to admit it's a pretty strange looking device and I'm sure there's a few gamers who will shell out the money to get one and run it through it's paces... Speaking of "Strange and Weird Devices" and no it's not a dildo, I ran across this one over at Random Good Stuff... So behold the: Fuzzy Hand Mouse and it does look like a somewhat mutilated hand but the detail is incredible... You got to check that one out for sure...

"Alien Shooter" from MOONPOD...

The gang that brought us Mr. Robot is back with another futuristic offering...

Alien Shooter has the same 3rd person perspective view as does Mr. Robot... In my opinion the graphics are not quite as good but that doesn't hinder the story or the game play, what does bother me tho it's more me than the game is the control system with the arrow keys, oh well by the time I'm done with the game I should have it down... hahahaha One thing I see that doesn't hinder the gameplay at all is all the "Clipping" of objects and the weapons and your characters arms when they sometimes go right through walls and other obstacles, I'm sure the developers can fix their collision detection without any problems... It's a fun Shoot'em Up anyways...

Don't forget to check out Mr. Robot also... It's a fun adventure/puzzle game and the graphics are killer...

While I'm on the subject of the Future, Space, Aliens and such I'm sure none of you could live without some of this Alien Movie inspired furniture for your lovely house, it'll go good with that giant "Predator" Blow-up Doll you have in the entertainment room... hahaha

Check it out, it's pretty incredible workmanship but the price is out there for sure...Clicky linky Alien Furniture...

Speaking Games, some wacky guys got together to stage a real life Donkey Kong, err "DICO KONG" with some funny results... Check out the linky DICO KONG...

The New BIOSHOCK Game Installs a Rootkit on Your Computer...

Yikes!!!! if this is true and it seems it is, 2k Games is in for a lot of pissed off gamers... Sony did this with a few Music CD's and when it was discovered they were in a lot of hurt from the public... Read more on Sony's Rootkit Caper...

If you don't know what a "Rootkit" is, well you can't find it on your PC and it is extremely painful to get rid of besides it allows them to take control of your computer anytime they wish... Yeah that's the ticket! and besides doing a lot of marketing for the site I have been going through all the Game Packs we purchased and hand picking the games so we don't have any losers...

Soooooooooo, if you need more to do at work and just don't want to do your job play some games, just don't tell your Boss I was the one that told you to do it cause I don't want him going all "Sopranos" on me... Hahaha
