There are a lot of websites that can help all golfers improve their game. For this article we will focus solely on Golf.com which has a very impressive layout. We would expect nothing less of a Sports Illustrated and CNN Network Site. The Home Page displays the latest leader boards for the respective pro tours. There are numerous galleries of the players in all these tournaments. Phil Mickelson’s recent hole in one was in one of those galleries. For all those Tiger Woods fans there is a tiger-tracker section that has almost everything about him, from pictures of his children to pictures that show how his swing has evolved over the years.

The instruction section of this website is very comprehensive. There is a feature that allows anyone to send questions or a swing video to a Top 100 Teacher so that he or she can provide a cure to whatever swing fault you have. Top 100 teachers like Brady Riggs and Martin Hall have a lot of very insightful instructional videos that can be viewed for free. Sites like Golflink.com do not offer this. On top of this a portion of the instruction section is devoted to Dave Pelz, the short game guru. Moreover, swing sequences of the top pros allow the more eager golfer to see the positions that these world class pros get into.

Next is the equipment section that tests and rates almost every club from every brand out there. The buyers’ guide section is very informative. We at Foresite Sports also recommend the buyer’s guide at Golftipsmag.com. If you just feel like playing golf Foresite Sports advises you to have a look at the exquisitely designed courses that are featured in the courses and travel section.

With all that said we also recommend that you visit our own website for complete information on hole in one insurance. We also have a colorful array of sponsor signs that we make for our clients for a reasonable price. So what are you waiting for? Check it out!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-76127092912018273562009-06-26T14:52:00.000-04:002009-06-26T14:53:23.801-04:00Hole in One….on a par 4???According to a Golf Digest study in 1999, the odds of a tour player making a hole in one are 3000 to 1. The odds for a low handicapper are 5000 to 1, and for an average golfer the odds are 12 000 to 1. Those odds are insurmountable for most of us. However, there are those lucky few who get that golden ace on a par 3, but what about on a par 4? All of us at Foresite Sports would like to congratulate Doug Johnson for getting a hole in one on a par 4 and in turn defying crazy odds.

Patrick Jones, a reporter for the Natchez Democrat newspaper in Mississippi, tells us that Doug Johnson, “who lives in McKinney, Texas, was in town for the South Natchez Class of 1989’s 20-year reunion.” Being an avid golfer, Doug Johnson “decided to play 36 holes with his fellow South Natchez 1989 graduate Tee Cotten at Duncan Park Golf course.” Patrick Jones’ report then informs us that “on the 12th hole Johnson made a double-eagle from 290 yards out with a driver. It was his first-ever hole in one and he will never forget it.”

Doug Johnson recalls hitting the shot pretty well and being concerned that his ball was off the green. In the report, “Cotton also said he knew Johnson’s tee shot was a good one, but he never envisioned it eventually finding its way into the cup.” Johnson was first to tee off. The ball went left of the bunker and took two hops before it rolled up on the green. After that, they couldn’t see the ball’s eventual path into the hole.

Cotton then recollected that he and Doug have “played a lot of rounds together, probably over 100. They started playing golf at Duncan Park, so it was pretty special.” Consequently, we at Foresite Sports are firm believers that golf is a great game that allows anybody to build lifetime friendships. Ironically we also believe that if you need hole in one insurance, million dollar shoot out coverage and other golf tournament services, you should explore all of the possibilities that we offer.

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-60732184703011576762009-06-18T12:53:00.001-04:002009-06-18T12:57:11.773-04:00A Hole In One Times 3 for this Florida Resident! For those who have never hit a hole in one, do not feel bad. The fact is it is rare to do so. Yet, one man has hit his third hole in one. Imagine being able to claim that! Here is how it played out.

Jack Gronwoldt of Palm Coast was playing on the South Hampton course in St. Augustine, Florida. The course is rather well known in the area as one of the finer quality golf courses. He aced the third hole on the course, from 122 yards out. He used his driver to accomplish the feat.

Interestingly, that is not all that happened that day in June. Another golfer, Dicker Ackerman, was playing at Spruce Creek course, which is located in Port Orange. He earned the coveted eagle. He spun a three iron from 175 yards out. It went right into the cup on the 14th hole. That hole has a par 4 that stretches some 425 yards away.

What does this show you? On any given day in the great game of golf, fantastic things happen, including the coveted hole in one. It can happen to anyone, and it can happen more than one time.

For those who are going up against Jack Gronwoldt, with his three hole in ones under his belt, it must be a bit nerve wracking! Imagine playing in a golf tournament with Jack (we definitely hope that facility has made the decision to have hole in one insurance!). Still, you never know what can happen when you hit the green.

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-14014132090733797752009-06-12T11:33:00.001-04:002009-06-12T11:33:53.933-04:00Are All Superstitions Silly?Every sport has its superstitious players. Many NFL kickers go through very specific routines even before easy extra point kicks. Hockey players in the playoffs often will not shave until they are out of the running or have won the Stanley Cup. Basketball players often have a set routine before every foul shot.

Golf is no different from any other sport in this aspect. It has been a breeding ground for superstitions and odd ritualistic behaviors, probably more so than any other sport. Jesper Parnevik always marks his ball with a dime, but never with the heads side up. And before a match if he has more than one dime, he throws them up in the air and uses whichever one land tails side up.

Some golfers claim they have no superstitious tendencies, but they may just have had them for so long that they don’t realize they do. Some are also just a matter of preference. Mark O’Meara only uses white tees, but only because colored tees leave marks on his ball. Tiger claims his red shirt Sundays are not superstitious, just his standard uniform for the final tournament day. Phil Micklelson doesn’t use low numbered Titleist balls, but strictly hits numbers five through eight to avoid confusing his ball with other golfer’s.

Although many superstitions or routines may seem silly, they allow the golfer a sense of comfort before hitting their shot. The patterns and routines used let golfers calm down and focus on their shot by not thinking about outside influences. So if you are playing a round of golf and your partner seems to be taking some extra time setting up on that par three tee box, don’t be too surprised when he knocks in a hole in one. Now the only question is whether that hole was covered with a prize by Foresite Sports!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-65600009600892330642009-05-22T14:39:00.001-04:002009-05-22T14:40:37.870-04:00Kid's Getting Holes In One!In the past several weeks, it seems that the news media has at least one story circling around a child achieving a hole in one. The latest is an 11 year old golfer from Minnesota who has already been golfing for five years. He aced hole number 8 for 115 yards at Lester Park’s Lake Nine.

Another young golfer, Ethan Clay has achieved something that many golfers only dream of. There are golfers that have been golfing most of their lives and they have not achieved this feat. But leave it to a child to make it happen. Ethan wasn’t even sure if he had made the shot because he saw the ball bounce right before the hole after he hit it with his nine-iron. He never thought that he would ever make a hole in one, but it did happen.

And being that this is young Ethan’s first hole in one, it is fair to say that it is probably not his last. When asked what his next goal is, Ethan stated that his goal is to get back-to-back aces. Because he plays golf three to four times per week in the summer, that might just happen. But what is amazing is that his round at Lake Nine was his first for the season, so he has certainly set a standard for himself.

Ethan has also set quite a standard for the many other kids out there playing golf. With all of these young golfers making holes in one, it does make you wonder what is in the water. Then again, kids just might be getting better at their craft.

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-67256934060120221822009-05-15T12:37:00.000-04:002009-05-15T12:38:11.752-04:00Five Shot Deficits Are Nothing When Your Name is TigerTiger Woods is well known for coming through in the clutch, especially on the back nine of a Sunday Round. At the 2009 Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Florida Tiger had some seriously clutch shots and played an amazing back nine, topping it off with a fifteen foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to win the match. And he did all this in his first big match since his knee surgery.

Sean O’Hair, a West Chester local and fan favorite in the Philadelphia area, had some very tough luck as he was defeated by one stroke after Tiger’s huge birdie putt. When Tiger sank the last putt, he and his caddy had a huge celebratory hug in the middle of the green, which really demonstrated the excitement and importance of this win.

After pulling off his comeback, a comeback which tied his largest ever come from behind win by overcoming a five stroke deficit, Tiger said “It feels good to back in contention, to feel the rush.” This was the third time Tiger Woods has clinched a victory at Bay Hill by sinking a birdie putt on the last hole of the last day. Now if your wondering if Tiger hit a hole in one during that tournament the answer is no. He does have 18 holes in one in his lifetime with the first one coming at age 6. It’s inevitable that he will have more, especially now that he is back in true Tiger Woods form!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-32303323354117090432009-05-08T12:53:00.000-04:002009-05-08T12:56:31.860-04:00Variety is the Spice of Life and Golf!If you have been wondering how to change up a golf outing to make it more fun or to give your players a new experience they won’t forget, there are some simple variations on scoring that can make the difference. For a stroke play golf match, each golfer usually hits their own ball, and then depending on which scoring method you are using, a team or individual score is recorded.

One type of stroke play scoring is called “Best Ball.” In this game type teams of two golfers compete against other groups. Each golfer plays their own ball for the entire whole and the lowest score of the team is recorded as the teams score for that whole. So if one player scores a bogey on a par 3, and his teammate gets a hole in one, only the hole in one counts. This can also be used in teams of three or four depending on how you have arranged the teams for your tournament.

There are many other variations available for scoring a golf tournament. When deciding how to score your golf outing, you should take into consideration the handicaps of all competing players. If teams are likely to have a single golfer who is considerably better than the other team members, Best Ball might not be as fun because most of the scores would probably come from the best golfer.

Another thing to consider when running your golf event is the type of on course contests you are going to offer. Conducting a hole in one contest, putting contest or million dollar shootout will certainly add to the excitement of your event and hopefully boost the number of golfers at your event.

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-7614411834938269542009-05-01T14:04:00.000-04:002009-05-01T14:05:21.378-04:00Golf As A Great Philosophy!Who doesn’t love skipping out of work early on a Friday afternoon to get in a round of golf, but better yet raise over $250 million while playing? Despite any alternative motives, golf fundraisers are a great source of fundraising for many non-profits. It has been estimated that golf fundraising events raise over $250 million, per year, for their respective cause. Over the course of a year, it is estimated that over 400,000 golf tournaments and events are held!

With such large amounts of money being raised each year through golf events, more and more non-profit organizations are using the sport as their major fundraising effort. Although profitable, holding a golf event may not be as easy as it seems, mainly because many non-profit organizers may not be overly familiar with the sport. In addition, hiring a golf pro to organize an event or lend advice can be costly for these non-profits who are working towards maximizing any profits by holding events for as little as possible. Mainly, many organizers are not familiar with the different golf tournament formats that may be utilized, which can impact how enjoyable the tournament is. The most common format for fundraiser is the four man scramble, but the stroke play golf format is also used, but less common. But with a little knowledge and organization, a golf event can be a great source of revenue.

Most tournament directors and/or sponsors turn towards a company like Foresite Sports to help with their hole in one insurance and golf tee sign needs. By utilizing a company like us the tournament can feature large prizes and promote their sponsors in a professional manner. It is these types of on course contests and attractive signs that will set one event apart from the rest. So next time your boss is giving you a hard time about skipping out of work early for a round of golf, remind him that you are doing your part to help a worthy cause.

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-46833990946445248022009-04-17T15:41:00.000-04:002009-04-17T15:42:00.279-04:00Beginner's Luck at 62!“I didn’t know it was that big of a deal, I thought all golfers do this.” That was the quote from Unni Haskell, the 62 year old golfer who hit a hole in one on her first swing during her first time playing on a golf course. The majority of golfers would never imagine that they would be able to hit a hole in one on their first time out on a golf course. In fact most hope and dream that they will hit an ace at any point in their career. The sad truth is that most will not! So to hear that Haskell took up golf just two months before her big hole in one is almost like a miracle!

The hole in one occurred at Cypress Links in St. Petersburg Florida on the first hole. The hole was 100 yards and the pro described the shot as flying 75 yards in the air, dropping on the green and rolling right into the hole. Haskell was playing with her teaching pro that day, Rick Sopka and he said that his plan for the day was a putting lesson. Haskell insisted on hitting the course without even teeing up on the range for a couple practice drives.

She must have had a good feeling about that day! Sopka said she teed right up, lined up with her target and went for it! Haskell and Sopka were both able to see the ball go in the hole as well as the group in front and behind the two. It seemed like the whole course was celebrating and Sopka reported that in all of his years of teaching he had never seen such a feat as a hole in one on the first swing! Sopka did deliver some bad news to Unni after all of this celebrating was over, he told her unfortunately it all goes down hill from here. Haskell will no doubt stick with the game and hopefully land some more aces!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-52415362693630155332009-04-10T15:02:00.000-04:002009-04-10T15:03:16.341-04:00Woods Is A New Daddy! In professional sports, talent usually runs in the family! Many father-son, brother or sister dream teams have developed in the sports world to be some of the best of the best athletes around. The Venus sisters are unstoppable on the tennis court and the Peyton brothers super bowl rings speak volumes for their success! In the golf world there is a new addition to the great Woods family and although it may be quite some time before we see little Charles Axel Woods out on the putting green this could be the start of something great. Needless to say if Tiger starts him down the same path that Tiger’s dad guided him, he will definitely make a name for himself on the links.

Tiger and Elin Woods welcomed their new baby boy, Charles on February 8th 2009. Charles is their second child, Sam Alexis their daughter, was born in June of 2007. If they start playing the game as early as their father than maybe it won’t be too long before we see little Charles and Sam out there!

Tiger has fully concentrated on his family during his recovery time from knee surgery shortly after the 2008 US Open. Torrey Pines was his last appearance not to mention victory in a tournament and return back to the game is fully anticipated by all golf fans. He is expected to come back to play in the Masters in April and I’m sure his fans will be pulling for a victory there!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-25167016058591467012009-04-03T16:44:00.000-04:002009-04-03T16:47:12.303-04:00Buffalo Lawyer Sends the Gift of Golf OverseasJoseph Hanna was brought up with strong morals and learned at a young age that service was extremely important. Hanna has created a good life becoming partner in a Buffalo law firm at the age of 28 however he has not forgotten the importance of service and giving back. Hanna has created Bunkers in Baghdad, a non profit organization that sends golf clubs and golf balls overseas to US soldiers. Many organizations have been formed over the years that send care goods and different packages overseas in support of the troops protecting our country however Hanna’s organization is based around the fact that the soldiers need a hobby and some entertainment while away. Hanna started calling friends that had the same love for the game as him and suddenly the one man operation gathered over 50,000 golf balls and 2,500 clubs to send to the US troops. Bunkers in Baghdad started with a few of Hanna’s friends in a basement and has grown to an extremely successful donation location with multiple golf courses and manufacturers wanting to donate golf supplies.

Joe Hanna’s long term goals include not only continuing his work sending golf clubs and balls overseas but also being able to give donations to the war veterans returning home. Many people have flocked to help Hanna, at a local middle school students help package the golf equipment and understand the importance of Hanna’s mission. Francesca Carra an eighth grader at the school says “We can at least spend five minutes a day… for them because they do so much for us.” Hanna’s work with Bunkers in Baghdad is a great example of simple things that can be done in support for our troops. The soldiers who received the gifts from Bunkers in Baghdad will return home not only to their homes and families but also to a lower handicap!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-69694214127767708292009-03-30T11:31:00.001-04:002009-03-30T11:31:43.309-04:00A Golfer Nightmare :: Hole In One Turns Into Horrible Prank! When you approach a par 4 hole, your goal is to try to reach the green, not hit a hole in one. But there is always that chance that if you can drive the hole, the ball could go in! After all anything can happen out on the golf course! Gary Miller from Citrus Heights, California is a big hitter and when he stepped up to hole number 15 on Whitney Oaks’ Golf Course a 315 yard downhill dogleg par 4 he had full intentions of going for the green. Miller set up so his ball would fly over the houses on the left of the tee box and get as close to the green as possible. Miller hit what he thought was a solid drive and expected to find it close to the green. Miller and his two friends who he was playing with, Joe Anderson and Keith Gault all walked up to the green and Miller’s ball was no where in sight. One of the playing partners walked over to the hole to find Millers ball sitting right there in the cup! Celebration started as everyone knows to hit a hole in one on a par 4 is certainly a reason to be excited. Miller and his buddies finished the round and sat down in the clubhouse for a beer to talk about the exciting day.

About a week later Miller approached the club pro as to why Millers great accomplishment hadn’t been mentioned in the weekly newsletter. The club pro then told Miller that a group of four men that were playing in front of them the week before came in and told him that the hole in one was fake, they were mad that Miller had hit into them on hole 15 so they put his ball in the hole out of frustration. Miller was extremely upset and claimed that he knows the rules of play and he made sure to check that the group was off the green before going for the green on 15 however the club pro could not record the alleged hole in one because no one from Millers group saw the ball go into the hole. Miller believes that the group in front of him were lying and that they just said that out of jealousy however there is no way to know for sure! Miller has one hole in one recorded and under his belt and although this one won’t be official, hopefully there will be more in his future!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-62278434606022772032009-03-20T15:56:00.003-04:002009-03-20T16:08:39.070-04:00Why Are ‘The Rules Of Golf’ So Important!Understanding the rules of golf is extremely important before you hit the links. The actions you make on the course don’t only affect you and your group but they also can affect the play of other golfers on the course. Knowing the rules of golf no doubt make the game safe and fair for all golfers, however having a strong understanding of the regulations can also help you in a bind. The pro’s seem to be the ones who are affected most by the rules of golf. An earlier blog reviewed last year top unfortunate events of pro golfers breaking the rule and costing them significant strokes and even disqualification in tournaments. Some pro’s however if they know their rule book can benefit from a rough condition they got themselves into. Tiger Woods is a great example of that!

The USGA recently announced the 10 year anniversary of Tiger’s “loose impediment” ruling at the 1999 Phoenix Open. January 31st 1999 Tiger Woods lost some control of his drive as it veered away from the fairway and landed directly behind a large stone. This was not your regular pebble that you could pick up or kick out of the way! The stone more like a mini boulder was reported to weigh almost a ton! Tiger asked a ruling official if the rock could be considered a “loose impediment” which according to Rule 23-1 can be removed (with assistance) in the case of it inconveniencing a shot. The officials could not find a reason why the stone would not fall under the regulation and with about 10 extra sets of hands the stone was removed and Tiger had a clear shot at the green. He went on to birdie the hole! If Tiger didn’t speak up about the ruling he would have been forced to either take a drop ball with an extra stroke or hit the ball out to a playable area.

Tiger’s story is a great example to how important it is to have a good understanding of the rules of golf. So next time you head out to the links make sure you grab your mini “Rules of Golf” book and zipper it up in your bag, it could save you some serious strokes!

Check out the video of Tiger’s “loose impediment” here - www.usga.org/multimedia/video6/

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-81374596957577938742009-03-16T10:09:00.000-04:002009-03-16T10:13:56.064-04:00Hole In One Insurance :: What to Look For!So you’re planning a tournament and you want to spice it up a little! This was the situation for Tanya Brooks a new member at Victor Harbor Golf Club who scored a hole in one after only four months of playing the game. Tanya sunk the shot on the seventh hole at Victor with her seven wood. She was unsure that the ball even went in the hole, thinking that since she didn’t see it on the green it must have rolled past. Her playing partners thought otherwise, her husband and two other golfers were jumping and yelling after the ball hit the green after they saw the ball roll in the hole! The celebration continued off the course after the news spread of her accomplishments. Brooks received a call from her father congratulating her for achieving an ace in only four months after he had been playing for over fifty years and still hasn’t seen one!

Brooks shares the love of the sport with her husband who like Brooks father has been playing much longer. Brooks says golf is a hobby that they can participate in together and playing with one another has benefited both of their handicaps! It was Brooks new years resolution to start playing in 2008 but never expected to be so successful in her first year! 2008 was sure good to Brooks and hopefully 2009 will bring more great accomplishments in their game of golf!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-37673302875921286882009-02-18T10:14:00.001-05:002009-02-18T10:14:34.773-05:00Digital Caddies!GPS systems for your car are one of the top selling Christmas gifts this past year. With convenient features that allow you to plot your route in the quickest amount of time and with the least amount of traffic, GPS devices are becoming more and more popular. Most new cars are actually made with built in systems right on the dashboard. Now imagine that kind of convenience when you’re out on the golf course! Seems unheard of but technology is breaking into the simple game of golf with GPS digital caddies. These systems are amazing and use satellite technology to track where your ball is in relation to the hole with exact distances and surrounding hazards! Not only are these portable machines small and easy to fit in your bag but they speed up your golf game since you avoid the process of trying to find a marker and determine your distance. These systems make a perfect gift for the golfer in your family but make sure you do your research!

There are a couple options for digital caddies, Golf Digest ranked the best of the best out there based on price and quality. The results for the best option is the Skycaddie SG5 making it extremely accurate with up to 40 reference points for every hole. It has a full color screen and database of maps for over 20,000 courses. The price for the Skycaddie SG5 is $430 with a small annual fee, Skycaddie also makes a cheaper model (about $150 less) that is also high quality but doesn’t have a color screen. Another option that is a little more affordable is the iGolf Neo which costs $150 dollars with a $35 annual fee. This system offers up to 16 hours or battery life on its rechargeable battery. The small and compact size is a big selling point for this product as well as the high quality ball tracking skills and large course database. No matter which system you decide on it will help in speeding up your game and hopefully drop some strokes. Cleary these products can’t guarantee a hole in one but it certainly can’t hurt!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-64902972345319691592009-01-30T16:15:00.000-05:002009-01-30T16:20:21.195-05:00Third Times a Charm!Hole in ones come in threes in New Jersey! Dawn Peppercorn, 69, of Bonita Springs, NJ hit her third hole in one last week at Pelican’s Nest Golf Club. A golfer hitting multiple holes in one is unbelievable in itself however Peppercorn added even more excitement to her accomplishes by hitting all three on the 15th hole at Pelican. Peppercorn was originally known for her tennis skills however around 20 years ago after her hip surgery, she and her husband switched over to the game of golf. Now a regular at Pelican’s Nest Golf Club, she is considered a local club celebrity for her accomplishments. Her friends aspire to play like her and even around the course her husband, who has yet to score an ace, is known as “Dawn’s husband.”

Her first hole in one came in December of 2007 and no doubt it was her most memorable. She not only scored an ace that day but she got to share the experience with her family, her husband, son and grandson. Her grandson was actually the one who found Dawn’s drive in the hole on the 15th green. Peppercorn didn’t hesitate to pull out her TaylorMade driver and Volvik Crystal ball on the 15th hole from then on and they did the trick! Three holes in one with the same type of ball, same club and on the same hole is certainly an amazing achievement. Hopefully Dawn will continue her streak into next year’s golf season and maybe even share the luck with her husband!

Just imagine if Dawn was playing in a golf tournament each time that had a hole in one insurance package from Foresite Sports. Dawn would certainly be a wealthier person! Don’t forget that packages start as low as $180 for hole in one coverage and that includes bonus prizes for the other par 3 holes, signs for each hole and a free golf club certificate for each golfer in the event!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-18295201309875829842009-01-19T10:50:00.001-05:002009-01-19T10:50:49.157-05:0017 Year Old Hits Hole In One :: “Happy Gilmore” Style! Most people would assume that to hit a hole in one you must be a pretty decent golfer, considering an ace is one of the most sought out challenges in the game of golf. Surprisingly, in most cases all you need is a lot of luck. Luck combined with a ton of strength is what scored Keith McCall his first hole in one. The ace occurred at Brookeville Golf and Country Club on hole number 12, McCall drove from the white tees, 273 yards from the green.

McCall had a slightly different approach to the green from the far par 4. He drove the ball “Happy Gilmore” style as he called it which for those who haven’t seen the movie means that you stand behind the ball and walk up to the ball while you swing the club. Contact with the ball is not always easy but when you make contact the ball comes off the club fast and goes far! McCall said the shot wasn’t pretty to say the least but made its way toward the green. McCall never expected to hit the drive that far considering the group in front of him still hadn’t finished putting yet. It was actually one of the other golfers in the group ahead of him that found the ball in the hole.

McCall was playing with his buddy, Blake Hunter who was even more excited than McCall at the hole in one. McCall is not one to brag about his accomplishment and even though it was the clubs first hole in one on number 12, McCall still doesn’t consider himself a good golfer. I bet others at the club beg to differ on that point!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-16642160086693311922009-01-09T16:22:00.000-05:002009-01-09T16:23:03.482-05:00Sorenstam Says GoodbyeGolf is preparing to say goodbye to one of the best ladies golfers in the game. In Friday’s LPGA tournament Annika Sorenstam missed the cut for the ADT Championship after finishing 3 over par, shooting a 75. Annika made the announcement back in May that she would retire her golf bag at the end of the year. The end of the tournament might not have gone the way that Sorenstam planned however with such a successful career she will exit the golf world with 72 tour wins. More importantly she will leave with one of the most highly recognized names in the LPGA.

Sorenstam got her first major win at the U.S Women’s Open in 1995 at Broadmoor Golf Club in CO and with a repeat win at the U.S Women’s Open in 1996 she was the first non- American woman to defend her title. Since then she has been unstoppable. She was the first woman to shoot 59, to play in the men’s PGA 1993 Colonial Tournament, to play on the PGA Tour since 1945, and even won Female Athlete of the Year at the ESPN awards in 2005. Annika will retire at the age of 38 after making about $22 million dollars in winnings. Sorenstam has definitely made her mark on the golf world and has set the stage for all women golfers!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-30541251253538005802008-12-19T15:42:00.000-05:002008-12-19T15:44:47.055-05:00Basketball Anyone?Foresite Sports not only covers golf tournaments but we also cover a wide array of other sports contests too, basketball being one of the most popular. Many of our clients choose to run these contests during half-time at their event. By selling raffle tickets at the beginning of the game it not only gives you an opportunity to raise money but it also gives one lucky fan a chance to win a fabulous prize!

Some of the basketball contests that we offer are: half court shot, three quarter court shot, full court shot, progressive shot, pick a spot, Around-The-World and the NBA three-point shootout. The half court, three quarter court, and full court shot are just that, one ball, one shot, from whichever of those three spots you chose when purchasing the coverage.

The progressive shot adds a little more pizzazz to the basketball contest. The lucky fan that is chosen has twenty four seconds to successfully complete a lay-up, a free throw, a three-point, and a half court shot. The contestant can shoot from each spot as many times as he or she would like but it is important to keep in mind the time limit.

The “pick a spot” contest is also great fun! The person that is chosen can pick there he or she would like to take the shot. Sounds easy right? Well the fun part about this contest is that from the spot they pick they must sink two shots from that spot, one in each basket. Pick your spot carefully!

The Around-The-World contest gives the contestant a chance to make five for five three point shots in thirty seconds. Place one ball at five different spots around the three-point arch and start the clock!

If a lucky fan is chosen for the NBA three-point shootout they will have one minute to scores twenty-one points. You will want to place a rack of five balls at five different locations around the three-point arch. Score 21 points and win the grand prize!

So for all of you basketball fans out there, don’t worry Foresite Sports has got you covered.

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-44946213076320855932008-12-12T14:23:00.000-05:002008-12-12T14:26:54.479-05:00What to Buy the Golfer in your Family! So you have an avid golfer in the family and you don’t know what to get him or her for the holidays. It seems like shopping for a golfer would be easy, just head over to the local sporting goods store and bee line over to the golf section. But then what? If you don’t know much about golf then buying for a golfer can be extremely tough! There are tons of different brands and products that are so detailed to a specific part of the game that an easy trip down the golf ball isle turns into complete confusion. There are some things that a golfer can always use and you can’t go wrong. These gifts are also easy to find at stores or online and won’t cause you to do too much research!

First the most common and the easiest gifts are the basics, golf balls, tees, ball markers, and gloves. A golfer can never have enough of these items! There are probably hundreds of different golf balls available but you can’t go wrong with Titlest’s ProV 1’s. They tend to be a little pricey but are definitely one of the most popular brands for men. Maxfli Noodle and Precept brands are good for women because they tend to be softer and fly better. As for tee’s, just plain wooden ones work great, most golfers now have drivers with extra large faces so you might want to consider the “tall” tees. Markers and extra gloves tend to get lost easily so it is always good to have extra in your bag.

Golf clothing is sold anywhere and everywhere and you can’t go wrong with polo’s however what a lot of golfers don’t have and need is raingear. Think about getting them something light that they can still wear in the summer but long-sleeved and waterproof that they can keep in their bag in case of a sudden rain storm. If you are still clueless about what to get your golfer, you can’t go wrong with a gift certificate to his or her favorite course. Golf is not a cheap sport so giving them a free round at the local course is a perfect idea that they can use whenever they want! There are hundreds of gifts that you could get the golfer in your family and hopefully these ideas helped. Good luck shopping!!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-71245009406268685332008-12-05T14:31:00.000-05:002008-12-05T14:32:15.197-05:00What's in Sergio's Bag?After taking second in the world at the HSBC Champions on Monday, Sergio Garcia may be able to attribute part of his success to some of his equipment changes. Sergio recently switched up his driver from TaylorMade's Tour Burner to TaylorMade’s r7 Limited (9.5°). The new r7 has features adjustable weight ports allowing for changes in trajectory up to a 35 feet left-to-right or right-to-left. The head on the r7 Limited driver also has a much more triangular look than its previous model (r7 SuperQuad). The Tour Burner that Sergio used to play with did not feature the adjustable weight ports.

Prior to Sergio’s win at the Players Championship back in May, he opted for his throwback Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter that he used back in 1999, instead of the TaylorMade Rossa Daytona that he usually plays with. Once again one of the most significant changes Sergio Garcia made to his golf bag for the HSBC Champions was his putter. However, this time around Sergio decided to take his TaylorMade Rossa Daytona putter and make a few changes himself. After grinding and forming the putter to his liking, Sergio sent it back to TaylorMade and had them make his custom creation in silver! Now wouldn’t that be nice if everyone could do that!

Sergio also changed up his irons for this event. He switched from TaylorMade's rac MB TP irons to the new Tour Preferred irons. The RAC irons have more of a traditional look and feel to them and allow for exceptional vibration control and feedback on each and every shot. The Tour preferred irons, also by TaylorMade, are geared more towards those players with a lower handicap, perfect for Sergio. These irons still feature the same vibration control as the previous RAC model but these irons have a much sleeker design which helps golfers hit the ball with greater ease and control.

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-46654094508943827552008-11-21T13:45:00.000-05:002008-11-21T13:46:10.081-05:00Update :: Hocker Puts Another Ace On His Score CardCurt Hocker has now been nicknamed “The Hole In One Kid” and rightly so after sinking another hole in one on Friday November 14th. After a remarkable five aces in one week alone Hocker did it again with his hole in one on the 155 yard, #3 hole at El Paso Golf Club. This makes eight aces total this year for the young golfer, five of the hole in ones being on par 4 holes!

The golf pro at El Paso, Steve Fulton, calls the event “mind boggling” but has no doubt in the 22 year old. Hocker has had playing partners at every hole in ones and over 20 eyewitnesses in total. Hocker himself was in amazement of Friday afternoons hole in one, when he drove up to the hole he did not see the ball right away he assumed it had rolled into one of the sand traps next to the hole. It was not until his playing partner walked over to the green to spot the ball in the hole. Hocker was in complete disbelief that he hit his 11th hole in one of his golfing career just days after his unbelievable feat of five aces in one week.

Hocker has become a recognized in recent golf news and not just here at Foresite Sports. Hocker’s story will be reported in Sports Illustrated as well as a feature article in Golf Digest. Hocker and his playing partners said that last Friday might have been the last round of golf they will get in for the year but what a way to end it!

US Hole In Onehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05812480757269726096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8102419182861213577.post-6650488316350065412008-11-14T15:46:00.000-05:002008-11-14T15:47:07.065-05:00Young Golfer Scored Five Aces In One Week!!Hole in one insurance took on a whole knew meaning at El Paso Golf Club in Central Illinois where the 22 year hole Curt Hocker scored an impressive 5 holes in one in one week at the local golf club. Hocker’s story would be unbelievable to most so fortunately his family and friends were there to witness some of them. He can hardly believe it himself saying, “I don’t know what to think, after each one I say it’s over, and it keeps happening.” Hocker didn’t make these aces in any tournaments for prizes however the club offers a different type of insurance where they have to pay for drinks for everyone in the clubhouse every time a hole in one is made. Needless to say if Hocker keeps this up he might be putting the clubhouse bar out of business!

Can you even imagine the amount of prizes that Hocker would have walked away with if his play was insured by Foresite Sports? When Foresite Sports insures your event, we take into account what most think is impossible; multiple holes in one in one event. This is why included with the insurance for most grand prizes we cover multiple holes in one.
