It is a biggest drawback not just for Karnataka Govt. but to the whole education system.

By this judgment, unaided private institutions will make hell lot of money in the form of capitation, donation and management quota seats. As of now there is a bug in the minds of parents that only English medium schools are good. Taking undue advantage of this situation, it’s very easy for private unaided institutions to make money.

At this time we can remember the famous quote saying “Science is not a difficult subject, but learning science in English medium is very difficult”. While the western countries like Germany are accepting Sanskrit as a powerful medium for teaching science related subjects, we are still hanging our self to English. This is applicable to most of the Indian local languages which are very close to Sanskrit.

From last few year if we observe the court judgments related to education field, it’s always biased towards privileged, owners of institutions. It can be regarding CET, Fee structure for professional courses or distribution of seats among management and govt., those who are making education a business won the cases. It clearly shows that, now the judicial system also getting corrupted. Till now not even a single judgment protected the interests of millions of students. It lead to lot of suicides among student central. It’s really shame on these systems to come up with such a biased judgment.

This judgment though directly won’t hit students, in long run definitely will ruin the local language. I’m not against English or any language but mother land, mother tongue should always be given top priority. Please raise your voice against this. Please share your opinion here by commenting.

Related Links:
New Ind Press: Kannada not a must for private schools, says HC
Indian Express: Kannada medium not must for private schools, says High Court
Yahoo! Hope this will help you too.

PGCET is for 100 marks. There will be usually 100 questions carrying one mark each. There are four sections of 25 questions each. Mathematics, Reasoning, General Knowledge and Objective English are the four sections which have equal weightage.

By this time you would have prepared well for the exam. I’d like to mention how I prepared for the exam. Though my preparations started before 10months to exam, I took 3 months prior to exam as very serious and concentrated on preparations (I was also working 8hrs a day in a computer institute).

I didn’t join any coaching classes. All I did is to read the newspapers and magazines thoroughly. I spent almost 3-4hrs a day for reading news papers and magazines. I dedicated maximum hrs for Mathematics, as I was bit weak in that subject. The next major proportion of my time was dedicated to Objective English. Though it was bit boring, I simply continued referring the guide forcibly. Amazingly it really helped me in the exam. The rest of the time I practiced on reasoning section.

Here is the tips

Now I will tell the secrets of cracking the exam successfully. In this exam there will be no negative valuation. That is you won’t lose marks for the wrong answer like many of the competitive exams do. Once you get the question paper, take an overview of the question paper. It will give an overall idea of the pattern of the paper. Then

Choose the section that you are very much thorough and confident of answering most of the questions correctly.

Choose the section that is simple and don’t need much time.

Usually it’s better to answer General Knowledge section first then Objective English later on Reasoning and finally mathematics.

This is because the General Knowledge section will take less time for each question compare to Objective English and so on.

You will get total 120min to answer 100 questions.

General Knowledge section should be completed within first 15mins.

Objective English section should be completed within 20mins.

Reasoning section should be completed within 25min.

Mathematics section can take up to 50mins based on the difficulty of the questions.

In mathematics section for simple questions, use bottom to top approach. i.e out of the four choices given you can easily derive the correct one.

Remember only write answer counts and not the step-by-step procedure that you follow to derive at the answer. So don’t waste much time in solving the problem step-by-step.

So in 90mins you have to answer all the questions that you are pretty confident. If you are in confusion or doubt just leave it and move on to next question. Don’t waste much time.

The rest 30min you have to answer all the questions that you left without answering from all the section.

Don’t leave any question, maximum try to solve or find the write answer. Even after all the attempts if you can’t just mark the answer that your sixth sense suggests (This tip may look bit vague, but it is always better to follow this step).

Finally confirm that you have answered the entire question and submit the answer sheet to your supervisor.

If you are following any different strategy please do mention the same here in comments section so that others also get the benefit. All the best.

Link:15 Secrets to score top rank in PGCET for MBA
Ravi Kumarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16953201883127991062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8076179109332369046.post-41021768899261303632008-05-27T11:30:00.003+05:302008-06-02T13:13:59.318+05:30Career Aptitude TestWhat to study and which career to take up are some of the most important decisions you will take in life. But what most matters is getting relevant and accurate information when it is need. Now onwards I’m going to write about websites, forums, blogs and other applications that has relevance to student community under the category Academic Sites. Today my pick is India Study Channel.com

IndiaStudyChannel.com

As the website claims it provides reliable and comprehensive information on educational institutions, examinations, education system, exam results, entrance examinations, previous year’s university question papers etc.

It’s the site by the students for the students. Yes! Here most of the resources are submitted by students itself. Who else can understand and serve student’s needs better than students themselves?

ISC has a huge number of members which includes students, teachers, faculty, academicians and people from alumni. All these people are great sources of academic resources.

You will get up-to-date news, articles/knowledge Sharing, academic projects, information regarding courses, colleges, university, examination, exam results, previous year question papers, model papers etc. There is an option to take online mock tests for many popular competitive examinations like Aptitude Questions, General Aptitude Tests, Medical Entrance, Engineering Entrance, Bank Tests, TOEFL & IELTS Questions

ISC also contains a huge database of colleges, course details, contact details, fee structure etc. Once again all these information is posted by the students about there colleges. So you will get an insider opinion about any college.

One more feature of ISC that made this site more popular is it’s rewards program. If anyone posts an article, submit any link, write a blog entry, answer a education related question in Yahoo, refer a friend to become a member, they will get paid for their efforts. They call it as Payment programs. So what are you waiting for, hurry up! Join Now and make money by submitting useful resources to student community.

It just won’t stop here. Wherever there are students there will be lot of adrenalin flowing with lot of josh, fun and entertainment. ISC is not an exception to that. There is a section for entertainment where you can post jokes, photos, videos, movie reviews etc.

So visit the site and make use of it’s resources. If you know any other educational sites please leave the link in comment section.
So what do you think about this post.... As per the article published in Rupeetimes.com, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) is planning to bear the burden of interest component of education laons during the moratorium period.

What is moratorium period
Till students complete their course and get the job, they will not be paying the interest. However the interest is calculated and added to the principal amount. So there will be a gap for students to complete their course and get the job and start repaying the laon. This time period is called moratoriam period. The interest accrued in this period will be repaid to banks by government of India once this scheme is implemented.

As per the article, this facility is available to only those who have annual income less than 2.5lakhs and avail education loan for professional and technical course. However, one student can avail this facility only once. i.e you cannot avail this facility for both graduate and post graduate program. Any one course you can opt for this facility.

Technorati Tags: Education Loan

Ravi Kumarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16953201883127991062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8076179109332369046.post-87249195580221026652007-12-17T12:38:00.001+05:302007-12-19T19:52:56.738+05:30US gives parity status to India's medical education
Another feather in India’s Crown

This is the headlines from some of the leading newspapers of India last week. There by helping companies, institutions and students. Please refer the newsletter from NASSCOM Communiue.

I think, the examination system in India is the killer of creativity and innovation. Because students are so used to examination system that, they don't even bother to read anything that is beyond the scope of examination or curriculum.

The ranking system is more a elimination process than a selection process, that will unnecessarily create tension and stress among students and educational institutes. Still I don't understand how can one test the capability and skill level of a person within few hours while the learning process takes days, months and years together. More than that the environment in the workplace is different than the environment of examination. There is a large gap between what is needed and what is provided.

There is a problem in understanding the gap. At least now the industry should wake up, and bring in some new innovative models to improve the skill level of engineering graduates. That in turn ensures that there is a smooth supply of manpower and also reduces the attrition rate.

I really don't understand how bringing in one more exam will ensure that, it will meet the needs of the industry. As Prof. PS Gill himself mentions in his article, there is a need for around 1.5 lakh engineers in India but companies are hardly getting around 1 lakh skilled man power. That means there is a gap of about 50,000 manpower per annum. In this scenario what we need is improving the quality of education and training, Industry interaction and Finishing Schools(This is also a brainchild of NASSCOM). The case study of Maveric Systems is quite impressing.

Mean while share your opinions and views about CPT here in comments section. Also don't forget to vote your opinion.

Ravi Kumarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16953201883127991062noreply@blogger.com
