Can you believe Christmas is almost here??? I'm still having a difficult time comprehending that 2009 has almost come to an end..

We've been working away like crazy here at Enchanted Gardens. The fireplace is roaring, Christmas music is blasting and we're packing all your Christmas gifts like little elves. Remember, standard shipping deadlines are rapidly approaching so be sure to place your order in the next few days for guaranteed standard delivery.

I enjoyed the first snowstorm of the year. So fun to see the garden covered in a fresh blanket of snow. The poor little finches (pictured above) were definitely not excited to see the snow. I can't say I would be terribly excited about hanging on a finch sock eating seed in a winter gale either.

We're also busy working on 2010 with new shopping features, a new look and new product. You'll find new miniature gargoyles, fairies, castles, new handcrafted small fairy houses, unicorns, mushrooms and even a frog prince.

Christmas Ordering Deadlines Posted

Hello everyone!! We hope you are enjoying a terrific December. As I'm typing this, the first snowstorm of the season has finally descended on our Enchanted Gardens. It's rather exciting to see the first snowflakes of winter!

We've been swamped in the wonderful chaos of Christmas here and have everyone working overtime to ship Christmas packages.

We've posted our Christmas ordering deadlines.

Fed Ex Ground and Fed Ex Home Delivery:

Order up until December 16th for guaranteed Christmas delivery. Orders must be received prior to 2:00 pm PST.

Fed Ex 2 Day:

Order up until December 21st for guaranteed Christmas delivery. Orders must be received prior to 2:00 pm PST.

Fed Ex Overnight:

Order up until Dec 22nd for guaranteed Christmas delivery. Orders must be received prior to 2:00 pm PST.

USPS Priority Mail:

Order up until December 15th for guaranteed Christmas Delivery. Orders must be received prior to 1:00 pm PST.

Note - Orders placed up until the 20th of December SHOULD be delivered on time but after the 15th we can no longer guarantee delivery. We will post your items as quickly as possible but retain no control over tracking information and delivery dates for USPS shipments. We recommend you select Fed Ex if you need your items by Christmas.

International Orders - We regret that your orders will not arrive on time for the holidays unless you contact us to make special arrangements.

Hello everyone! I apologize for being so quiet lately but rest assured we have been busy! We're working on a terrific holiday sale, our version of a Black Friday... Hmmm, maybe we should call it a green Friday?

The other half of Enchanted Gardens participated in a wonderful boutique in Fresno, CA over the weekend. Great fun and a pleasure to meet fellow local fairy gardeners.

We are now working overtime to bring you our spectacular new savings just in time for the holidays. We have dozens of one of a kind handcrafted fairy houses going on super sale. Look for huge discounts on new limited edition miniatures, discontinued fairy figurines, garden decor, and more. It's going to be spectacular! The *official* sale will open on Black Friday but we hope to air a sneak peak this weekend.

We're also working on some exciting site updates. We have a brand new artwork and site makeover in the works for 2010. We love starting the new year off with some new fun!

We have tech support working on overhauling our gift certificates which will be back online shortly. Yay!

In progress, we also have a new feature that will allow you to shop our miniatures by scale. This has been requested by many customers and we're excited to roll out this new feature. We're also premiering handy little icons that will alert you to bulk discounts on items.

NEW ITEMS! The picture at the beginning of this post highlights our brand new Kitty's Cottage Fairy House. We're also introducing two new handcrafted miniature pathway materials: a lovely miniature brick pathway and tiny curved pathway.

We will also be adding a new little handcrafted cake and miniature topiary shortly. Some small fairies on the way.

I can't wait to catch up on all of my groups, gardening blogs and tweets. It's always a little crazy during the holiday shopping season but I hope everyone is enjoying an enchanted start to the season!

New Terrarium Miniatures

With winter around the corner it's the perfect time to star creating your enchanted miniature landscapes. We love creating moss filled enchanted miniature terrariums and created some brand new handcrafted terrarium miniatures.

There's just something so magical about having a little enchanted lush green garden on your table top during the bleak winter months. They're a great project for kids and gifting as unique Christmas and holiday gifts.

We put together a little guide for how to create a simple moss terrarium. The terrific thing about terrariums is you can create them from virtually anything you have on hand, they're limited only to your imagination and creativity. Have fun creating!

Fall Fairy Gardens Snapshots

Fall is my absolute favorite season and I'm thrilled to be enjoying a little slice of fall weather in our enchanted gardens.

Here in CA we often hurtle straight into winter so it's always fantastic when we get a to enjoy a little bit of delightful fall weather.

I thought I'd share a few snapshots from our fall fairy gardens this year. Hope everyone is enjoying a little cool fall weather of their own!

Monarch Fairy Garden Visitors

Our fairy gardens were alive with visitors today! A gorgeous assortment of Monarch Butterflies and little Painted Ladies fluttered about the aptly named Butterfly Bush in our miniature fairy gardens.

It's been a delight to watch these colorful little butterflies flutter through our fairy garden as they move south for the winter. I imagine their presence is a signal that cool fall weather is on the horizon.

Fairies love butterflies even more than we do and planting butterfly friendly plants is a a sure way to attract fairies into your gardens.

Fairy Housing Market Crisis

Has the housing crisis affected you and your fairies? What a strange world we live in when even the fairies have to struggle to make mortgage payments. For all their wonderful magic, even the fairies have to work extra hard in this economy.

To help the fairies out during the housing crunch we've brought back two of our favorite, smaller sized affordable handcrafted fairy houses. Now, if only the fairies would work a little pixie magic on those bills....

We have added four new miniature items at Enchanted Gardens! A miniature antique tool set, miniature wire bench and miniature wire chair, and a miniature sewing basket. The miniature antique tool set, (pictured above) sells for $4.95. The wire bench (pictured above) sells for $5.25. The miniature wire chair is available for $4.95, and the miniature sewing basket is just $2.75! The holidays are fast approaching and we are trying to build up our inventory of miniatures and adding a few new items to our miniature collection!

Finch Family

I always like to sit out back early in the morning, watching all the birds in our gardens. We have an abundance of yellow finches that like to feed on a thistle sock feeder I have hung up on a nearby tree. Yesterday, I heard a small thud and one of the finches had accidentally flew into our window! He was stunned and dazed for a few moments, and I watched as he starting hopping out towards were the feeder was hung. He was too dazed to fly, so I walked close by him to make sure he was OK. He stopped next our rosemary bushes, and at that moment about half a dozen other finches landed around him, as if to protect him! I was only a few feet away from him as the finches landed close by, and I slowly backed away. The dazed finch finally came out of his funk, and all of them flew away at the same time. I know my finch friend will be OK, as the rest of his family will see to that!

Squirrel Vandal

We recently purchased wicker outdoor furniture for our back patio. Since then, we had noticed part of one chair leg that was constantly coming undone. We had tried everything we knew of to keep it tight, but it always was coming unwrapped. Yesterday, as we were getting set to have our Labor Day BBQ, we found out why it had kept coming undone. It appears this tree squirrel has been the culprit, and we now have the evidence to prove it.

I have since gone to our local feed store for squirrel food.

Just want to wish everyone a happy and safe Labor Day weekend. I hope everyone gets a chance to take advantage of a little down time; spend a few hours in the garden or enjoy a BBQ with the family. Sometimes, it seems we are so busy that we forget to slow down and 'smell the flowers', as my Grandma Mic used to say. Whatever your passion, have fun and be safe!

A week or so ago, we had an extremely lazy rabbit watching us from underneath our Wisteria tree. We would walk by and he just seemed to not mind having us around him. I have since named him E.G. (short for Enchanted Gardens, of course.) Now, he comes running towards us whenever we are out and about, and even our postal drivers have grown attached to him. This morning, my wife was working in the barn on a few new buildings for the fall, and E.G. hopped over and kept her company. I guess he has become our new mascot. As you can see, he loves to have his picture taken-and he is quite the handsome fellow!

Peacock Visitor

We often have many visitors at Enchanted Gardens, but this handsome guy caught everyone off guard. I was just about to sit down for breakfast when I saw this Peacock staring into our sliding glass door (obviously admiring himself). He was very friendly, so we knew he was someones pet. He would follow us around while we worked, and didn't seem afraid at all. We gave him food and water and he stayed for a few days. Many of the homes around us are on large parcels, and it turned out his home was just a few miles down the road. I admit, I did enjoy having him around while we worked in our miniature gardens!

Miniature Well Sneak Preview

In our spare time, we are always looking for new items, and for things we can re-create in miniature. We have been working on this miniature wishing well, shown above, which should be available in early September. It stands about 5" and is 3 1/2" wide. We enjoyed designing and creating it; we hope you like it!

Miniature Food

I am continually amazed at how life-like many of our miniature food items are. From cakes to a large assortment of fruits and vegetables, our Fairies and Gnomes always have plenty to eat. I remember we were 'dog sitting' our neighbors Labrador, Lady, and she was intently watching as we were packing up an order of miniature bread loaves for a customer in the mid-west. As luck would have it, the loaf jumped out (with the help of a mischievous Fairy perhaps?) and landed right in front of Lady. She quickly pounced but was a second too late as I grabbed the loaf on a bounce. Lady's disappointment was quickly eased when her loaf was replaced by a proper treat, but I will never forget the look on her face when she felt she had been cheated!
