Yeah!! Finally is the FASHION seasons. This year's fashion extravaganza scheduled from 9/10/2009 till 9/17/2009. New York City Bryant Park hosted this bi-annual event with the big names of fashion unveiling their Spring collections in September. And of course, here in fashion week, we could see designers gather from around the world to exhibit their Spring/Summer 2010 collections will full of surprises.

My idol, Michael Jackson is dead, I have to wonder, just how much of his legacy will live on after him? Is sad when I imagine that many of the pop trends he sparked in his later years will fade from memory, but what about the moonwalk? I'd be sad to see it go for good. I can't deny that Micheal is a genius, the passion he had for music, is everlasting.

Chicago Millennium Park

Millennium Park in Chicago not just a park but a green space with several exciting areas and attract anyone seeking a break from the city on Lake Michigan and has activities both for summer and winter.Walking towards Millennium Park, I felt the heat of the Chicago summer, and realized summer has finally arrived. The Park provided me some shelter from the heat, as far as I could remember, there was outdoor dining areas, air conditioned restroom, stores and many more. As I walked through the underpass at Columbus Drive, I saw an artsy pedestrian bridge, it allowed access from the lakefront to Millennium Park. Within 8 minutes walked, I noticed a steel net-like roof in the sky, covering the Great Lawn which provides open-air concerts are given on a very regular basis in summer. Luckily, Me and Vic attended one of the Grant Park Orchestra (Beethoven) in Millennium Park just a couple days ago.

3 weeks old Mr. Jimmy

Jimmy is an Abyssinian guinea pig, which has a very distinctive appearance. The coat is made up of multiple swirls of hair referred to as rosettes. Their hair is quite dense and coarse, and it radiates in circles from multiple points on the body on the body to make up a series of whirls and ridges. And they could be as independent as a cat!

Gary is a Teddy Bear guinea pig. Teddy guinea pig get its name from the texture and appearance of its coat, which is similiar to a teddy bear's fur. They usually have a coat of soft and fluffy hair. And they like cuddles, doesn't like to be alone!

The End of Summer 2009

I know, it's been a month or two, I've been disappearing. But no excuses. I moved to a brand new apartment ^_^ YEAH! Busy with packing and of course UNPACKING -_-" ... and 5 summer classes (I know is crazy), what else... The boy friend time.. and the most important... Let me introduce my 2 new son!! Mr. Gary and Mr. Jimmy, the guinea pigs! (Both 3 weeks and 4 weeks old) So fun things occur, and will be more coming up ^_^

Happy July 4th - Summer 2009

I'm not looking forward to hot steamy New York summer, but this cool recipe made me happy. Summer is here!

Ingredients
1 cup of T2's Turkish Apple Tea
10 mint leaves
1 litre of boiling water
150g raspberries
1 tbsp caster sugar
¼ cup Pimm's

Instructions

To make granita, place apple tea and mint leaves in a heatproof bowl. Pour boiling water over and leave to cool. Once cool, remove mint leaves and freeze liquid for at least six hours or overnight.
Twenty minutes before serving, mix raspberries with sugar and Pimm's and leave to one side to macerate.
Scrape the surface of frozen tea with a sturdy fork, spooning granita into serving glasses – due to the sugar content in the apple tea, it will be only slightly harder than sorbet and easy to serve. Spoon macerated raspberries with their juices over granita and serve at once.

Hello, what'sup people? Hope everyone is doing great. Sorry for my temporary absence. I have been very busy with school work and life in general, plus, I have two research papers to write before final exams start and yet, finals are fast approaching too.

Finals will end in the 21st of May and I'm trying to get all my assignments, projects and paper turned in as soon as possible and really start studying for finals.

Anyways, i will definitely try to blog and do blog rounds when I have chance but till then, I am stuck with school ;)

Bush's 11th-hour decisions greatly weakened protections for the polar bear and other species under the Endangered Species Act by issuing regulations reducing protections for the polar bear and exempting greenhouse gas emissions -- the number-one threat to the bear -- from regulation.

Global Warming - Save Antarctica

The global warming effect on Antarctica has getting serious! And this is affecting the entire world. Global warming is caused by many different factors, and some of these factors are greenhouse gas emissions that is the vehicles used that run on fos sil fuels like diesel and gasoline, melting of ice and snow in the Antarctica Peninsula. The ice shelves in the area are breaking up and melting and lead to increased sea levels.

More. Penguins which nest in areas most effected by global warming are seeing a decrease in population numbers, because ideal nesting spots are slowly becoming more scarce,The Krill in the sea is also being affected. This is caused by less ice in the sea around Antarctica. As well as almost all other forms of marine life in the area. Many fish, whales, and other marine species feed on the Krill, and with less of this food source there will be fewer species capable of survival in the area. This will have a profound effect on commercial fishing in the area, and a decline in the amount of fish in our food supply chain.

The global warming effect on Antarctica can have devastating results for the entire world. When ice melts and the sea rises, this leads to more moisture in the air. This means more rain and snow in other areas, and this will affect millions of people. Coastal lands of every continent may become flooded due to rising sea levels, leading to less land in an already overpopulated world. Food crops are greatly affected, causing food shortages and starvation deaths, especially in countries that are not developed. There is also a rise in natural disasters like devastating storms, such as typhoons and hurricanes, that are caused by global warming and the Antarctic ice cap melting. Hurricane Katrina in the United States and elsewhere may be an example of what future storms will be like if we do not stop global warming now.

The global warming may not be reversible, but we can minimize the damage by using renewable energy sources that are friendly to the environment and can greatly reduce the global warming effect in Antarctica. Global warming effect on Antarctica is just the first step in a process that will end with the earth becoming uninhabitable for future generations. This must not be allowed to happen, and steps must be taken now to reduce and eliminate global warming, not only to protect Antarctica but the entire world.

Again, I’m sitting in my room dutifully ignoring my Psych reading. Nothing much, I'm listening. I listen to the rhythm of pouring rain, falling spectacularly hard outside ! This kind of weather is to be coveted, but only once in a blue moon. If it were up to me, I would go paddling in the waterfall outside in Coby, but somewhat it won't happen in New York City.

It's a rainy day, and it won't stop. There's nothing I can do to make it change, but I can listen, listen to the melody from the mother nature. Wishing weekend will come soon.

My Experience With Asus Eee pc 1000HE

Yeah. Finally, I received my Asus Epc 1000He, well of course, not just received, but I got it couple weeks ago. :-) But why I still need a netbook even though I have a vista ultimate, 22 inches sitting at home, plus my 15'4 Sony Vaio on my desk? Yes!, that's right, my stupid 15.4 Sony Vaio is a piece of garbage (pardon me for all Sony lovers out there) I am a huge Sony fan myself, I have use everything from Sony, such as the Play Station, the Sony Hi-Fi, The Camera, The Laptop, The Phone, The Music Player... bla bla bla. But seriously.. The Vaio I'm currently using, is "urg" speechless -_-"

Anyway. Due to my school work, and better travel companion, finally I put my hands on ASUS EPC 1000HE. Based on my experience for couple weeks, I think the best selling point of this product are superior battery life. A year before, 2.5 hours on my Vaio has been very good. But not really ... So obviously Asus eeeepc 1000HE up to 9.5 hours continuous use! Such alarming figures, relying mainly on a support of a 8700mAh battery. 1000HE also uses a more power-saving new processors: only 2.5W power consumption of Atom N280, clocked at 1.66GHz; with more energy-efficient LED-backlit display; In addition, ASUS energy saving technology developed by SHE (Super Hybrid Engine), have to say that this is a really good thingy to use.

In addition, 1000HE's another selling point is newest Intel Atom N-280, the 802.11b/g/n Wireless and Bluetooth 2.0, so 1000HE is able to enjoy more high-speed Internet experience. On top of that, the EEeepc come wit the hard disk capacity remains at 160GB. But as the Eee PC as part of the promotion, ASUS comes with a 10GB offered by the ASUS online space. But i think is useless (at least for me, 160GB is good for my school work)

And the last, the keyboard design is different than previous model, the new keyboard design is stylish and sturdy (same as mac book). The screen is a good size for watching movies, and the hotkeys are nice to be able to change the screen resolution so you can see full webpages without having to scroll over. The design of the netbook itself is pretty well done, I got mine in Black. But there is a cons, that is the thickness. Is a little thick for a netbook (Thicker than Lenovo S101), but still, better than Vaio. And the screen brightness is not as bright as a lot other notebooks. Oh.. also, I upgraded my memory to 2Gb..is..super!

But seriously think about it, it just a NetBook! I mean, a small whatever pc.. travel piece that can last me more than 7 hours without charging when I use the wireless.. So now I have this awesome little machine. I can throw it in a bag. What else I can ask for?

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Since from the childhood, from the movies, we've been told that if we "wish upon a star" our wish will come true...

When was the first time I saw a shooting star? I remember, my freshman year in Cobleskill, Until now, I would never forget the small of the wooden wood in the summer. Mrs. Hull's house, the fire camp, the bridge apartments, the basketball field.... That was my first shooting star in my life. And of course, my wishes came true couples week later when i wish upon the star.

Sometime in 2008, I wish upon the star during a cold freeze night in Japan House; with someone special. And again, my wish came true. I remember those nights with him, we would stay up late and i don't know why, but we developed a habit of observing how beautiful the night sky was. And so, we started seeing shooting stars and sometimes, we would see a burning red tail shooting star. they were really beautiful.

But just seeing one is really magnificent. And oh, my wishes does came true! i wished to see one more shooting star so that I'd have one more wish.:) It's really childlike but there's really no harm in believing, right?:)

So next time, make a wish ~ God know what will come true ;)

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated by the Irish/Non Irish in big cities and small towns alike with parades, "wearing of the green," music and songs, Irish food and drink, and activities for kids such as crafts, coloring and games etc... I remember the St.Patrick's parade that I went to, it was awesome :) "Lots of food :P".
