Chinese-Americans mobilize to help survivors of the catastrophic earthquake

Rescuers continue to search for victims at the site of a collapsed hospital building. People donate blood for earthquake survivors.

The situation at the epicenter of Monday's earthquake is much worse than expected, an estimated 7,700 people died and more than 1,000 have been badly injured from Yingxiu Town, Wenchuan County where the population was 10,000 Cries for help can be heard from under debris at the local school but people had to dig with their hands to reach survivors, as blocked roads hampered rescue crews and machinery from entering the community. Dr. Liu Xiaolin, a soft spoken Physician figured out that infant formula was leaving a trail of dead babies in Fuyang, China 4 years ago, landing the formula makers in prison and heightened awareness of consumer rights in China. The Chinese Physician is now once again working on the mystery ailment infecting China's littlest victims.

Shanghai Physicians have detected 65 cases of Enterovirus 71, commonly referred to as EV 71 twelve of the cases were found to have been caused by "Cox Asckievirus A 16" another intestinal virus that leads to EV 71 none of the patients being treated had severe symptoms.

Thousand Rally Seeking Release Of Pollard

Monday evening in Jerusalem, thousands marched peacefully seeking the release of Jonathan Pollard on the eve of President Bush's trip to Israel.
