International House of Prayer University Student Awakening:

On November 11, during a 9:00am class of first-year students, led by Allen Hood and Wes Hall at International House of Prayer University (IHOPU), the Spirit moved in their midst with physical healings, deliverance, and a spirit of joy. That class, on November 11, continued for more than 15 hours. The word spread quickly, and over 2,000 people spontaneously gathered in the auditorium from all over the Kansas City area, as deliverance and physical healings increased. The meeting continued well past midnight. Recognizing that the Spirit was moving, the leadership of IHOPU canceled all classes for the next few days so that we could gather to receive all that the Spirit wanted to do.

We recognize that the Holy Spirit is awakening our students and many others. In each of these meetings, many people are being set free from addictions, shame, depression, demonic activity, and every sort of emotional pain. We are also witnessing an increase of physical healings, as God is touching and restoring bodies inside the building, as well as healing people watching via the webstream. Moreover, we greatly rejoice as we are seeing lost souls being added to the kingdom of God during these meetings. We are receiving many testimonies and reports that this move of the Spirit is spreading to other churches and prayer rooms that are joining with us each night via the webstream.

It all began on November 4, on the last day of the monthly Global Bridegroom Fast at the International House of Prayer of Kansas City (IHOP–KC). A move of the Holy Spirit began to stir during the student chapel at IHOPU, as students testified about receiving deliverance from self-hatred, shame, and depression. Students began to experience supernatural joy at the revelation of God's love for them. A powerful spirit of joy rested on many the next day at the IHOPU student-led 6:00am prayer meeting, and the Spirit continued to move throughout the week in our classes and during the faculty meetings.

What started during our IHOPU student chapel on November 4 is continuing today. Visitors are pouring in from many places, with some driving over 1,000 miles overnight to participate in these meetings. Consequently, on November 12, we moved the Prayer Room to our Forerunner School of Ministry sanctuary from 6:00pm to midnight each night, to accommodate more people. We will continue these nightly meetings as the Holy Spirit leads us. We earnestly pray that this awakening will continue, as our nation is in desperate need of another great awakening in this hour.

Throughout history, college and university campuses in our nation have been an epicenter and a catalyst for spiritual awakening. Since the 1700s, our nation has witnessed multiple moves of the Holy Spirit that have touched and awakened students on college campuses, including Princeton University, Yale University, Asbury College, Wheaton College, and more than a dozen other college campuses. These spiritual awakenings often progressed beyond the campuses and resulted in a great number of souls being added to the kingdom of God. History also attests to a strong correlation between spiritual awakening and missionary movements. We pray that this spiritual awakening that is touching IHOPU and the rest of our IHOP–KC Missions Base will break out all over our nation in different cities.

Greetings to our FFM Partners—past and present.
November 28, 2008

Please allow us to begin by sincerely apologizing for the long silence between our first two letters and this one. We will do our best to help you understand why it has taken us so long to respond to your many legitimate requests for information. Please also know that we write this letter as an explanation of our silence and not a defense of it.

We have received letters, emails and phone calls from many of you during the last three months, expressing sympathy and support as well as frustration and disappointment. We ourselves have been on an emotional rollercoaster for some time now and have found that looking to the Lord for His new mercies every morning enables us to make it through the day.

In light of our lack of communication, some of you have felt the need to withdraw your partnership with Fresh Fire Ministries; we completely understand and both release and bless you in your walk with God. Others have been compelled to discontinue their giving as a result of the economic crisis in America and in other countries around the world. We thank you for the many years of faithful support, and wish you to know that it was not in vain; more on that later. Nonetheless if you must go, for whatever reason, we trust that the Lord will lead you in connecting with the many other excellent ministries out there faithfully advancing His kingdom. Some of you have received so much good word and powerful impartation through FFM, that you might consider starting your own ministry.

Moving on, let us first say that we know, without a shadow of doubt, that Lakeland was and is an authentic move of God. Having known Todd well for many years, both his amazing strengths and his areas of weakness, we can say without reservation that the move of God in Lakeland, which began at Ignited Church, was genuine. We have never seen, in the history of this ministry, a greater quantity and quality of the miraculous demonstration of God’s healing power. As the Lord began to pour out His glory in Ignited Church and in the many venues that followed, Todd’s spirit was as pure as it has ever been and he was intensely hungry for more of God’s presence. He would spend hours soaking each day before the evening meeting, and once the worship had begun, Todd would become lost in the presence of God. The manifestation of amazingly accurate words of knowledge and astounding miracles flowed effortlessly night after night.

As the Outpouring continued, the Board of Directors and other leaders in Lakeland suggested that Todd take a few days off each week to rest and refresh. We learned from experience, however, and the post-Lakeland counsel of Christian leaders, that the anointing can be addictive. Significant personal issues in Todd’s life and make-up, as well as, flaws in the functioning structure of our leadership resulted in an impossible pace to maintain… seven nights a week for more than 15 weeks on end. We fully accept the responsibility as a Board of Directors for this lapse in judgment; we should have required that not just Todd and the team, but the entire Outpouring rest a minimum of one day a week. God himself rested after six days work as a pattern for His creation, and if the yoke of the Lord is easy and His burden is light, then He has no need to exhaust His people in a fresh encounter with Him.

As fatigue began to set in, significant personal issues in Todd and in his relationship with Shonnah were exacerbated. This, together with his increased familiarity with a female staff member created more tension in the Bentleys’ relationship. As the pressure of leading the revival continued, media attention increased resulting in less and less personal time. With the development of more friction in his marriage relationship, Todd began to make irrational decisions. Alcohol, movies and leisure time spent with a few of the younger, more impressionable members of his staff and road-crew began to replace the hours of soaking in the presence of God in which Todd had engaged during the early days of the Outpouring. Finally, Todd began to burn out, and things came to a head in his relationship with Shonnah. He was unwilling to put distance between himself and the female staff member and ultimately told Shonnah he wanted a separation.

The fact that the revival was in Florida, three thousand miles from our home office in Abbotsford, BC Canada, meant that the entire administration for the revival was provided by a rotating stream of church leaders and Board members who would assist behind the scenes and on the platform for a few weeks at a time and then return to Canada, usually on the verge of total exhaustion. Trying to keep up with the logistics of administrating the revival, including the massive challenge of moving from venue to venue until we finally arrived in the tent along with the media circus that ensued shortly afterwards, meant that communication was greatly inhibited between the leaders involved. Many early signs that something was drastically wrong were overlooked. By the time we became fully aware and/or were willing to admit how dysfunctional things had become behind the scenes, the damage had already been done.

As to our long silence in writing to you, please let us explain. We have been in much contact with Rick Joyner, Bill Johnson, John Arnott and other members of a team focused on restoring Todd, seeking to do all within our power to encourage him to embrace a process of counseling and genuine accountability. In deference to these leaders we have refrained from communicating at all until we could be assured that we were all on the same page. At the same time, senior members of the leadership team here at Fresh Fire as well as members of the Board of Directors have been stretched to the breaking point in attempting to deal with all of the attention created not just by the revelations of Todd’s marriage problems and personal issues, but also by the five months of revival preceding their disclosure. Since then, many false accusations and rumors surrounding both Todd and the Lakeland Outpouring have attempted to use Todd’s failures as a springboard to question the legitimacy of the revival. Consequently, key leaders have had to step back and rest in order not to burn-out themselves. This, coupled with the busy schedules of the restoration team, all of whom travel internationally, has made getting everyone on the same page difficult.

We so appreciate all those who have stepped in to assist the FFM Board in a process of restoration for Todd, but what we have come to realize is that ultimately, the buck stops with the FFM Board of Directors. No one knows Todd better, or has more access to all the facts from both sides than we do.

Again, we apologize for not writing to you sooner. We struggled for a while with the question of how to satisfy two important obligations – that of honoring Todd, while believing for his restoration and at the same time, our obligation to be completely honest and open with you as our partners. Through much prayer and with the Lord’s help, we hope to satisfy both those obligations with this letter.

There is a difference between covering Todd and covering for him. We refuse to expose explicit details of his failings over the last few months, but neither will we pretend there haven’t been any. “Covering” is a biblical term as in “love covers over a multitude of sins” or as in the case when Noah’s two sons draped him in a blanket when he unwittingly discovered what happens when you drink too much fermented grape juice. “Cover for” is a contemporary idiom meaning to lie or misrepresent the truth in order to enable another to get away with or to continue to be involved in illicit behavior. We have been slow in responding up until now, because we wanted to bring you a positive report, full of hope and the promise of restoration. All of that is still entirely possible and we pray to that end, however, further silence on our part would be misrepresenting the truth by allowing you to believe that what we said in our first two statements (which were true to the best of our knowledge at the time of their writing) is still the case. Unfortunately that is not so.

Here are the facts:
Todd has yet to enter into a clear system of accountability with the leaders he identified that would be involved in such a process. Todd has visited Rick Joyner in Fort Mills, South Carolina, and indicated early on in September that he would be moving there soon to become a part of the community there and to receive counseling from Rick Joyner, Jack Deere, Bill Johnson and others that Rick might feel to bring alongside. Todd is in regular contact with Rick Joyner and has agreed together with Rick that he will move to Fort Mills during the first few months of 2009.
Having spoken with Todd in recent days, he is resolute in his intentions to divorce Shonnah, and in his mind, the restoration he is seeking is one which would not include reconciliation with his wife. Todd admits to being 100% responsible for the divorce.
It also needs to be clarified that Shonnah has in no way initiated this divorce and has no present intention to do so at any time in the future. She is understandably hurt by Todd’s infidelity, but is not asking or pressing for a divorce. The legal separation from Shonnah was initiated completely by Todd and he has not seen her or the children since the last week in July. To our knowledge, Todd’s relationship with the female staff-member, who was a former intern and also, at his initiative, a live-in nanny in his house for over a year, is still ongoing. We believe that there are currently no biblical grounds for Todd to leave his wife and children. While it has been maintained that no physical contact happened between Todd and the former female intern until after he filed for legal separation from Shonnah, in the Boards’ eyes, the nature of the present relationship between Todd and his former staff member is that of adultery.
Having said all that, our sincere desire is to see Todd first restored to Shonnah and the children, though at present this seems unlikely. We are optimistic that should Todd keep his word and move to Morning Star, Rick and his team are well equipped to be the Lord’s instruments in a process toward restoration. With genuine accountability, inner healing, counseling and deliverance we are confident that it is entirely possible for Todd to come through and gain victory over a number of significant personal issues with which he is struggling.

We love Todd dearly and so appreciate the ground he has broken, not just for us, but for many tens if not hundreds of thousands within the body of Christ. Todd’s genuine love for the Lord, his hunger and passion for souls and his tangible demonstration of the love of God in miracles, signs and wonders will be remembered for many years to come. Todd is a champion in the Global paradigm shift from a lethargic and dunamis-deficient church to an empowered body of believers carrying out the Great Commission in a mighty demonstration of the Spirit’s power. That’s how we, and we think many others, will choose to regard Todd even if he doesn’t allow the Holy Ghost to work a process of restoration in his life. If he will, and we pray sincerely for that, then only God knows what can be accomplished through this young fire-brand’s life.

It is our deep desire that our brother Todd should be restored, and we are still hopeful that this will be achieved. Please let us make it clear, that although what Todd has done is inexcusable, it is not unforgiveable. We do not judge him unworthy of a second, third or even fourth chance, and we hope that you don’t either. The Lord spoke clearly that those desiring mercy themselves would be well advised to give it to others, and the Lord has brought amazing goodness and life out of far worse circumstances.

The Lord has been speaking to us about sins of commission and sins of omission. Many may look at Todd and judge him for what he has done and excuse or justify themselves on the basis that they have not failed or sinned (missed the mark) in the areas in which Todd has failed. But if we are going to judge Todd by what he has done, then we need to include all that he has done. And if we will excuse ourselves on the basis of what we have not done, then we must also take into account all that we have not done.

Todd Bentley has demonstrated himself unfaithful to his wife by entering into a relationship with another woman while still legally married. He has consumed more alcohol on a few occasions than is prudent or becoming a Christian leader (or any believer for that matter). His sins have been sins of the flesh and we do not defend them.

He has, however, also seen over 1 million people make decisions for Christ in the 10 years of his ministry. He has been instrumental in seeing the Lord heal tens of thousands of people (if not more) of all manner of sickness and disease through the personal laying on of his hands and who knows how many others vicariously through television and the internet, or though the prayers of those who received the healing anointing through Todd’s ministry. He has been used by the Lord to give countless accurate prophetic words and words of knowledge to thousands of people around the globe, and his testimony and passion for God just since April 2 in Lakeland, Florida has touched literally millions through the internet and television.

Jesus said, “They are my children who obey my commandments”, and if the theme of the Ten commandments in the Old Testament is “Thou Shall Not”, then the theme of the Two Greatest Commandments as outlined by Jesus in the New Testament in Mark 15: 30-31 is most definitely, “Thou Shall!”
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength… (and)…You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (NIV).
As is also said in 1 John 4:20-21
“If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.”
How many believers have become almost vicious in their attack against Todd, demonizing not only him but his ministry and everything he has ever done? What sort of spirit do you think is behind this? And how many around the world are sick and dying and unsaved because of what we, the global body of believers, have not done? Because we have not been obedient to preach the gospel, heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead and cast out devils (Matt. 10:8). Nothing is defined by what it is not, but rather by what it is; not by what it does not do, but by what it does do.

What Todd has done should not only be defined by his present failure. He has raised the bar on what is possible. He has broken a barrier of sorts for all of us and made a pathway into new possibilities. This is what you partnered with - not a man but a transferable anointing and an ability to reach into a combined realm of prophetic revelation and signs and wonders manifestation! Guard your deposit and don’t let the enemy’s backlash rob you of what you have already received. At the same time we openly admit that what Todd has done at the height of his supernatural breakthrough has resulted in a tragic breakdown in the natural causing great pain to many, but to none so deeply as to his wife and children.

Yet in all this we have been challenged and chastised by the Lord to remain gentle in our hearts toward him while we pray and encourage him to do the right thing and to come into accountability.

Galatians 6:1 is very clear in its instruction on how and with what attitude we are to restore one who has fallen,
“Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted” (NIV).
Maintaining gentleness of heart towards Todd means that we do not write him off or wish any manner of evil upon him. We need to continue to pray for him and to keep a door of relationship open to him. We are willing to assist in the process of his restoration, messy though it may be. Neither does a gentle heart towards Todd mean condoning what he has done nor enabling him to live in sin by either our support or our silence.
So please pray for Todd and also for Shonnah and their family. Pray with fervency that the Lord would do a mighty miracle for the number one purpose of bringing vindication to His Name, but also that we might see our brother restored. We cannot control a person’s choices, nor have we any desire to do so. What we can control is our response to their choices and see the Lord take what the enemy means for evil and work it together for good.

We at Fresh Fire Ministries are presently in a season of waiting on God. We are in the process of re-defining our government structure with assistance from leaders in Bethel (the church pastored by Bill Johnson in Redding, California) and others affiliated with Morning Star—Rick Joyner’s ministry in South Carolina. In August, Todd verbally stepped down from the FFM Canadian Board of Directors and has recently given written notice of his resignation. With Todd no longer at the helm we are looking to identify vision-casters from within and to refocus the ministry’s endeavors in keeping with the original mandate of Fresh Fire Ministries. In the coming weeks we will provide you, our partners with a detailed update of our vision and emerging leadership structure.
There is one area of the ministry that is seeing increased activity, and of all the many ventures and endeavors FFM has been engaged in, we believe this one to be closest to the heart of God. The Uganda Jesus Village in Africa is continuing to expand, with the building of homes on our recently purchased 35 acres of land just outside of Kampala, Uganda. Over the course of the summer, two brand new homes which will house eight to ten children each have been completed and construction is beginning on two more this week.

The purest expression of our faith as defined by the Lord in James 1:27 is to look to the needs of widows and orphans. Many FFM Partners and Missions’ Team Members have visited our children’s home in Uganda, commenting on the amazing transformation in the lives of these children orphaned by war and disease. Currently we are housing over 60 children in Kampala with a long-term vision to rescue as many as 500 children from the war-torn northern part of Uganda. We are in regular communication with our missionaries in Africa, Luke and Suzanne Jones and their family, and there is so much excitement in their hearts at the prospect of being able to rescue more children.

In this interim period as we wait on the Lord for clarification of our governmental structure we will continue to press forward in the work of supporting and expanding our Uganda Jesus Village. We thank all of our Partners that have given to this work and all of you that have sponsored and continue to sponsor the children in the homes.

Again, our sincerest apologies in having taken so long to respond and communicate to you, our beloved Partners. We thank you all for the grace you have extended us in this difficult season and together we look forward expectantly to brighter days ahead.

God poured Himself out in Florida and through the internet and television, around the world. Not on a man alone, but on a hungry body of believers has He given the seal of His Holy Spirit in power to be witnesses of His saving grace throughout the world. Through the weakness and failure of man, the enemy seeks to defame and discredit what God has done in empowering and authenticating his Church as carriers of His power and anointing to accomplish His purposes in the earth for His Glory.

Let us do as Elisha did when standing alone after a season of mentoring and impartation. Let us swing the mantle that we now carry, the mantle of God’s Glory, and together cross over to the other side.

God is waiting for us in 2009—certain to be our greatest year yet!

Obama hat zwar die Präsidentschaftswahl gewonnen, aber das Ergebnis des Volksentscheids "California Proposition 8" zeigt, dass die Gebetsbewegung "TheCall" ein wichtigen Teilerfolg erzielt hat. In dem Maß wie die Gebetsbewegung an Zahl und Intensität wächst, in dem Maß wird auch ihre geistliche Autorität zunehmen. Der Gebetseifer oder Gebetsmangel der Gemeinde wird entscheiden, wie die nächsten 4 Jahre verlaufen.

Can you imagine what would happen around the world if Barack Obama were to declare the discovery of Jesus Christ as his Lord? It would send shockwaves of revival across the planet. Let’s pray hard for him. As it stands, we are facing the threat of three key issues that are contrary to God’s will being advanced with force: Abortion, homosexual union and the release of land in Israel. These three points MUST be addressed in prayer. The way to see them all addressed with one broad stroke would be for Barack Obama to have an encounter with Jesus Christ.

His report was that, as he reached out and touched him, he would NEVER be able to deny the overpowering love of Jesus again. He called the first church he could find. This happened after God spoke through three people at a city-wide prayer event in City Hall that Jesus wanted to visit people in the city THAT NIGHT.

We prayed in unity in response to the prophetic word and it ACTUALLY HAPPENED! The same can happen with our new President. God loves him a lot and God loves this nation a lot. He also loves the unborn who are at risk and those who are diving deeper into homosexuality. The situation is complex, and we need an encounter in the White House like never before.

BCN: Where are you meeting?

HF: It is the North Wilsonville exit [off I-5], then a mile up Boones Ferry Road on the right there's a road called Green Hill Lane, you turn right on Green Hill Lane, left onto the parking area of the tent. It's in Tualatin, and it's the property just south of Horizon Christian School.

BCN: How many people came last night?

HF: About 100 people, but I believe it's going to grow. We had quite a number of healings last night. There was one lady, we still have to get medical feedback on it, but she was in chronic pain, could not move her neck at all. God touched her, she said she had cancer, and that all the symptoms of the cancer were gone. I mean, she got radically touched by the Lord. Another lady had serious hip trouble and got healed, and a lot of people that had pain and so on that got healed.

And obviously, you know, you can only go after the stuff that is there. So we need people to bring the sick and we believe God is going to do many, many miracles, and many people are going to be set on fire [for the Lord]. And we encourage people to [come from all backgrounds and denominations] that we can see this fire go out, from the radically "Holy Ghost people" to the Evangelical people in our area. During a visit to Lakeland, Fla., in May, San Francisco pastor Michael Brodeur blogged some thoughts for his church members back home who were antsy for revival. “I believe this is just the beginning of a fresh wave of the Holy Spirit in our midst,” said Brodeur, senior pastor of Promised Land Fellowship. “I encourage you to put on your wet suits, grab your surfboards and paddle out into the coming move of God. This could be the ride of your life.”

Now, after 67 days of nightly meetings, his church and staff are in the midst of something not unlike the Lakeland Outpouring, though Brodeur calls what’s happening in San Francisco “a different animal.”

Come and be part of this historic event.
11 months ago Jill Austin, who ministers in the prophetic, gave a decree that Dudley would no longer be a place of hiddenness. This is what God has been doing. Through my trip to Lakeland, Florida, I was commissioned to bring the fiery call back to the UK.

Having seen the Outpouring begin and continue here in Dudley, we are now into our 20th week of extended meetings. Other leaders have come and we have seen a convergence of ministries and anointings. Out of this convergence we have sensed in the Spirit that it is time for the UK to become a FireStorm. This was prophesied over the UK the last time I was in Lakeland by Bobby Conner. A FireStorm is created as a series of a small fires come together which then generates a wind vortex, a tornado of fire, which draws strong currents of air into the blaze making it burn fiercely.

I want to personally invite you to come and be a part of history in the making as together we become a FireStorm of Revival in the UK and Europe.

I have invited those who carry anointing in worship and ministry of the word to be part of this gathering.

Dr. Mark Stibbe has since September 1996 been the Vicar of St Andrews Church Chorleywood, a large and growing charismatic Anglican Church just outside London. Lakeland - Eine Stellungsnahme von Geri Keller (Stiftung schleife.ch)

Anfang April dieses Jahres veranstaltete die Ignited Church, eine lebendige pfingstliche Freikirche in Lakeland, Florida, eine Heilungskonferenz und lud dazu den kanadischen Heilungsevangelisten Todd Bentley ein. Dabei kam es zu einer starken Ausgiessung des Geistes, begleitet von Heilungen und Wundern. Die Gegenwart Jesu war so intensiv, dass die Gemeindeleitung beschloss, in allabendlichen Gottesdiensten diesem Fluss weiter zu folgen. Was hier im Kleinen begonnen hatte, zog immer weitere Kreise.

Neue Lokalitäten mussten gesucht werden, um die vielen Besucher zu fassen. Als dann noch das GOD TV begann, die Veranstaltungen kontinuierlich live in viele Länder der Erde zu übertragen, und diese Sendungen auch im Internet abgerufen werden konnten, ging ein Ruck durch den weltweiten Leib Jesu. Anfänglich zu Hunderten, dann zu Tausenden kamen die Leute einzeln oder in Gruppen angereist, unter ihnen auch viele Nichtchristen. Gleichzeitig breitete sich dieser erweckliche Aufbruch in anderen Städten Amerikas, aber auch nach Übersee, aus. Auch wir in der Schleife wurden davon erfasst (siehe unsere Webseite «Hunger und Füür»)

Ein ideales Gespann
In Lakeland hatte man inzwischen in der Nähe des Flugplatzes ein riesiges Zelt aufgebaut. Es blieb jedoch nicht bei den abendlichen, evangelistischen Grossveranstaltungen. Steven Strader, der Pastor der Ignited Church, eine starke, gereifte Persönlichkeit, ebenfalls mit einer Heilungsgabe, veranstaltete parallel ein Morgenprogramm in der Kirche mit hervorragenden Lehrpredigten. Diese dienten vor allem der Zurüstung der Teilnehmer. Ziel sollte ja nicht bloss körperliche Heilung, sondern Freisetzung zum Jüngerauftrag sein. So gab es z. B.
Schulung in Evangelisation, verbunden mit Strasseneinsätzen in der Stadt.

An den Samstagen bot ein anderes Pastorenehepaar der Gemeinde ein Seminar für Befreiung und innere Heilung an, das für Unzählige zum Segen wurde. Ab dem 8. August wurden die abendlichen Grossveranstaltungen eingestellt. Die Besucherzahl war auch nach über 120 Tagen in Folge zurückgegangen. Die Gottesdienste wurden wieder zurückverlegt in die Kirche, wo alles einmal begonnen hatte.

Die Bombe platzt
Am 13. August erreichte uns vom jungen Leiterehepaar des GOD TV ein Fax. Es war ein Aufruf zum Gebet für Todd Bentley und seine Familie.
Wegen Eheproblemen hätte Todd seinen Dienst bis auf Weiteres niedergelegt, um nach dem pausenlosen, monatelangen Einsatz eine Auszeit zu nehmen und Heilung für seine eigene Situation zu suchen.

Trotz der Bitte, diese Nachricht im Geiste Christi aufzunehmen, schossen nun die Gerüchte ins Kraut. Zehn Tage später holte der Tagesanzeiger von Zürich zu einem Rundumschlag aus, indem das Kind mit dem Bade ausgeschüttet und Totenauferweckungen und Heilungen als nicht bewiesen hingestellt wurden. Von Todd selber gibt es bis zur Stunde kein Statement. Wie verlautet, wolle er sich zuerst noch mit Bill Johnson, einem wahren geistlichen Vater aus Redding, Kalifornien, aussprechen, bevor er öffentlich Stellung nehmen werde. Wie auch immer: die Verunsicherung und der Schmerz über das Geschehene sind gross. Es gibt nichts zu beschönigen oder zurechtzubiegen. Die Sache Jesu und die wachsende Öffnung für das Wirken des Heiligen Geistes haben Schaden erlitten. Ein weiteres Mal wurde durch menschliches Versagen ein erwecklicher Aufbruch vorzeitig gestoppt.

Was bleibt?
Was der himmlische Vater gepflanzt hat, kann nicht ausgerissen werden (Matthäus 15,13). Tatsache ist, dass unzählige Menschen geheilt wurden, auch wenn jetzt die Skeptiker – genau wie damals bei jenem geheilten Blindgeborenen in Johannes 9 – kommen und sagen: Wir wissen, dass dieser Mensch ein Sünder ist (also kann die Heilung doch gar nicht echt sein). Doch jener antwortete: «Ob er ein Sünder ist, weiss ich nicht; eins weiss ich aber, dass ich blind war und jetzt sehe.» (Vers 25)

Abgesehen davon, dass viele Heilungen vor laufender Kamera geschahen und entsprechend dokumentiert sind, habe ich selber hautnah Heilungen miterlebt. Zum Beispiel bei einem älteren Mann, der eine Beinschiene tragen musste, weil die Nerven abgestorben waren, und der sein Bein wieder fühlen und ohne Schiene herumlaufen konnte. Das vor Freude lachende und weinende Gesicht seiner Frau werde ich nie mehr vergessen.

Tatsache ist auch, dass unzählige Menschen charakterlich verändert wurden und eine neue, tiefe Liebe und Leidenschaft für Jesus und für eine verlorene Welt empfangen haben. Dies vor allem ist eine Frucht, die bleiben wird. Das Feuer dieser Liebe brennt weiter und hat an vielen Orten eine Bewegung ausgelöst, die unabhängig von Lakeland weitergeht. Das Reich Gottes ist nicht aufzuhalten. Er hat verheissen, seinen Geist über alles Fleisch auszugiessen.
Tatsache ist auch, dass durch die Übertragungen von GOD TV und über Internet eine neue Ära der Evangelisation eingeläutet wurde – ein Vorgeschmack, dass einmal die Erkenntnis des Herrn die Erde bedecken wird.

Die Wolke, die überschattet
Als Jesus auf dem Berg der Verklärung mit Mose und Elia redete, kam eine Wolke und überschattete sie. «Und aus der Wolke kam eine Stimme: Dies ist mein geliebter Sohn, höret auf ihn!» (Markus 9,7) Dieselbe Wolke, die den Glanz von Mose und Elia überschattete, sodass die Jünger niemanden mehr sahen als Jesus allein, überschattet nun auch die Person und Ausstrahlung eines Todd Bentley, der an zwei Enden gebrannt hat. Wenn das Ganze einen Sinn hat, dann sicher den, dass Jesus wieder alleine in die Mitte rückt und wir neu aufgefordert sind, auf IHN als den lebendigen Sohn Gottes zu hören. Dies war und ist sicher auch das Herz von Todd.

Lasst uns nicht zurückschauen, sondern vorwärtsgehen und wirken, solange es Tag ist!

Die Geschichte und Zukunft der gegenwärtigen Erweckung - Teil 4:

Als ich an der letzten Ausgabe des „Special Bulletin“ schrieb, haben wir uns noch gefragt, wie lange dieser gegenwärtige Besuch des Herrn wohl dauern würde. Seither wurde offensichtlich, dass dies noch weit grösser ist, als wir zuerst wahrnehmen konnten, und noch immer ist kein Ende in Sicht. Die Ausgiessung in der Heritage setzt sich nicht nur fort, sondern nimmt weiter zu.

Wofür wir am häufigsten in unserem Leben gebetet haben, ereignet sich jetzt. Was sich nun ausgiesst, ist grösser, als wir es sind, und verbreitet sich über das ganze Land. Alle Anzeichen sprechen dafür, dass dies der Anfang einer der grössten Bewegungen Gottes über Amerika ist, die jemals stattgefunden haben.

Vom ersten Tag unserer Gemeinde an haben wir den Herrn gebeten, dass Er einen Ort schaffen wird, wo Er nicht nur zu Besuch kommt, sondern wo Er verweilen und wohnen wird. Wir beginnen zu empfinden, dass dies mehr als nur ein Besuch ist, und nehmen das Offenbarwerden Seiner Gegenwart als beständig war.

Bob Jones besteht darauf, dass dies, was im Juni und Juli stattfindet, noch überwältigender sein wird. Der Herr hat uns auch gezeigt, dass Er unsere Ruhe sein wird und wir unsere Versammlungen in der Heritage durch den Monat Juli hindurch beibehalten sollen, auch wenn wir normalerweise für einen Monat in den Urlaub fahren würden. Wir nehmen grosse Änderungen an vielen unseren Plänen vor, denn diese Erweckung ist das, wofür wir gelebt haben. Der Herr bewegt sich wieder mit grosser Kraft, Er tut Wunder und Seine Leute wachen aus ihrem Schlummer auf, um zusammenzupacken und um mit der Wolke weiterzugehen.

Wir hatten aussergewöhnliche Ausgiessungen, Durchbrüche und Besuche in der Vergangenheit, doch diese ist anders. Die Art und Anzahl der übernatürlichen Erscheinungsformen, die wir wahrnehmen, übersteigen alles, was wir je zuvor erlebt haben. Es mag sein, dass wir in den letzten vier Wochen Zeugen von mehr Wundern waren, als in den letzten zwanzig Jahren zuvor, und wir haben über die Jahre hinweg viele Wunder miterlebt. Wohin führt all dies?

Ohne Frage befinden wir uns jetzt in den Tagen der Zeichen und Wunder. Der Herr giesst in unseren „Breakout“-Versammlungen nicht nur aus, sondern auch in nahezu jeder weiteren Runde, in der wir zusammen sind, sogar während unseren Sitzungen!

Es gibt eine so starke Wahrnehmung der Gegenwart des Herrn, dass zu jeder Zeit etwas Bemerkenswertes stattfinden kann, was auch häufig der Fall ist. Wir erleben, dass wahrer christlicher Glaube das grösste Abenteuer und das begeisterndste Leben ist, das man haben kann. Morgens wache ich auf und frage mich, von welchen Wundern ich wohl heute hören werde oder welche Wunder ich wohl selbst sehen werde. Manchmal ist es geradezu so, als wäre die Luft elektrisch aufgeladen.

Obwohl dies auch in der Vergangenheit stattgefunden hat, so ist es nun überhaupt nicht mehr ungewöhnlich, denn inzwischen wird erwartet, dass während der Studentengottesdienste einer unserer Schulen solche nicht mehr zu stoppende und durchbrechenden Anbetungszeiten stattfinden, dass der Unterricht daher beendet wird.

Es wird immer normaler, von einem Wunder zu hören, das während einer Sitzung der leitenden Angestellten stattgefunden hat, oder von Berichten über aussergewöhnliche Begebenheiten, die unsere Studenten oder Leute beim Einkaufszentrum weitererzählen. Es ist wieder wie einst in den Tagen der Apostelgeschichte. Jeder scheint in Ehrfurcht herumzulaufen und zu staunen über die Dinge die Gott tut, in der Erwartung, von noch weiteren bemerkenswerten Geschehnissen zu hören.

Es ist auch nicht ungewöhnlich für mich oder für die anderen Leiter dieses Dienstes, dass wir die letzten sind, die von manchen dieser Dinge hören. Wir haben unsere Verantwortung als Wächter nicht aufgegeben, doch in den meisten Fällen leiten wir nicht annähernd so viel, wie wir vielmehr versuchen, Schritt zu halten. Dies mag wahrscheinlich einige Leiter erschrecken, doch unser Team liebt es. Wir sind keine kleinlichen Führungskräfte, und wenn die Leute ihren Dienst tun, wenn der Herr jeden gebrauchen kann, um durch ihn zu wirken, dann bedeutet dies auch, dass wir unsere Aufgabe als Ausrüster erfüllt haben. Es ist für uns auch klar, dass das Werk des Herrn durch viele ausgeführt wird, damit die Bürde nicht auf uns liegt und es so wahrscheinlicher ist, dass all dies unbegrenzt andauern und nicht ausbrennen wird.

Eine der grössten Segnungen ist es für mich zu sehen, wie die Jugend in solch einer Kraft in Zeichen und Wundern vorwärtsgeht, verbunden mit so einer Weisheit und Reife. Obwohl ich denke, dass wir einige der besten Lehrer in unserer K12 Schule haben, so übersteigt dies alles, was irgendjemand getan haben könnte, um sie vorzubereiten. Einige von diesen Jugendlichen waren vor nur ein paar Wochen noch in keinem guten geistlichen Zustand, dessen ungeachtet beten sie nun für Kranke und treiben Dämonen aus wie bewährte geistliche Kämpfer. Kinder sind wirklich offen für Zeichen und Wunder. Es scheint so, als wären sie gerade dafür geschaffen.

Bei den meisten der aussergewöhnlichen Wunder, die wir erlebt haben, scheint keiner wirklich genau zu wissen, wer denn nun gebetet hat oder wann sie sich ereignet haben, es ist gerade so, als würde sich keiner wirklich dafür interessieren. Dies erlaubt dem Herrn, Aufmerksamkeit und Ansehen zu erhalten. Wir wissen alle, dass der Herr der einzige ist, der heilen oder befreien kann, doch allzu oft tendieren wir dazu, dies Personen zuzuschreiben. Dies wiederum legt ihnen eine Last auf, die kein Mensch tragen kann.

Wir haben Dutzende von Leuten, die jeden Abend in ihren Teams dienen, doch beinahe jeden Abend ist die Gegenwart des Herrn so stark, dass die Leute einfach nur ihre Hände ausstrecken, Ihn berühren und geheilt werden, ohne dass ihnen jemand die Hände auflegt. Auch dies war eines unserer Gebete seit vielen Jahren – dass wir nicht mehr einfach die besten Anbetungszeiten, die besten Predigten, Salbung für den prophetischen Dienst und die beste Ausstattung haben werden und dennoch niemand nach Hause gehen und über diese Dinge reden wird, sondern dass die Leute aus den Versammlungen kommen und sich über den Herrn unterhalten. Die Salbung auf allem nimmt zu, doch die Herrlichkeit des Herrn überschattet alles.

Wir versuchen immer noch, zu verstehen und viele Dinge zu verarbeiten, doch ist bereits jetzt schon recht klar, dass dies der Anfang einer der grossen Bewegungen Gottes über Amerika ist – möglicherweise die grösste, die jemals stattgefunden hat. Bald wird sie sich auch über Europa ergiessen, falls es nicht schon begonnen hat. Nach Jahrzehnten des Beobachtens, wie grosse Bewegungen Gottes durch Asien, Afrika, Süd- und Zentralamerika wogten, sind nun wir an der Reihe. Amerika und Europa haben sich verzweifelt nach Erweckung gesehnt, und nun ist sie da.

So gewaltig wie alles, das gerade vor sich geht, auch ist, so sind wir dennoch immer noch in den Anfangsstadien. Die Erweckung wird nicht nur zunehmen, sondern auch noch weitreichender werden. Erweckung ist die Belebung der Gemeinde und ohne Frage hat die Gemeinde eine Wiederbelebung nötig, doch dies wird über eine Revitalisierung noch hinausgehen.

Wir erwarten die ersten Etappen von dem, was viele über die letzten zwanzig Jahre hinweg vorhergesehen haben – ein gewaltiges Erwachen, grösser als alle grossen Erweckungen zuvor. Obwohl bei Erweckungen üblicherweise die Rettung von Seelen erfolgt, so ist doch der Hauptfokus dieser Erweckung darauf gerichtet, die Gemeinde aufzuwecken, damit sie das Evangelium den Verlorenen predigt; doch nicht nur das, sondern dass sie mündig wird.

Indem die Gemeinde ihre Reife erreicht, wird ihr Licht mehr und mehr in die Dunkelheit hineinleuchten. Nicht nur einzelne Personen, sondern ganze Regionen und sogar Nationen werden verändert werden. Der grosse Auftrag ist der, Völker zu Jüngern zu machen, nicht nur Einzelpersonen, und wir werden bald erleben, wie Nationen das Bedürfnis haben werden, die Wege des Herrn zu kennen und wahre Nachfolger zu werden.

Bedeutet dies, dass solche Dinge wie Gebet wieder an öffentlichen Schulen erlaubt sein werden? Ich denke, es wird noch darüber hinausgehen. Gebet wird nicht mehr aus Schulen oder aus irgendeinem anderen Ort verbannt sein. Es ist wahr, dass der Beginn einer schrecklichen moralischen Erosion in Amerika von dem Zeitpunkt an festgestellt werden kann, als das Gebet aus den Schulen beseitigt wurde und auch vom anschliessenden Versuch an, die Erwähnung von Gott aus jedem öffentlichen Platz zu entfernen.

Wie wir in Offenbarung 3 sehen, wird der Herr sogar ausserhalb Seiner eigenen Gemeinde stehen und muss daher wieder eingeladen werden hereinzukommen. Wenn wir Ihn bitten zu gehen, dann wird er es tun. Amerika hat dies über die letzten Jahrzehnte hinweg in einem beträchtlichen Ausmass getan. Doch dies ist dabei sich zu ändern. Die Gemeinde in Amerika erwacht, sie bittet den Herrn zurückzukehren, und Er kommt.

Mir wurde gezeigt, dass in jeder Gemeinde in Amerika ein unbestreitbares Zeugnis von Wundern und Heilungen vorhanden sein wird. Die Erkenntnis des Herrn wird unsere Nation bedecken. Obwohl es erst in den Anfängen ist, hat es doch schon begonnen. Es wird nun wachsen und sich ausbreiten. Der Herr bewegt sich offensichtlich wieder auf sehr kraftvolle Weise. Wenn die Wolke sich in Bewegung setzt, ist es Zeit, unsere Sachen zusammenzupacken und uns mit Ihm auf den Weg zu machen. Dies ist offensichtlich das, was viele Christen bereits tun.

Ein grosser Teil dessen, was der Herr derzeit tut, ist mit Heilungen und Wundern verbunden. Das ist das Wesen des Herrn. Wo auch immer Er hingegangen ist, als Er auf Erden war, folgten Ihm Wunder und Heilungen. Er ist heute noch immer derselbe, der Er einst war, nur wirkt Er heute durch Seinen Leib. Indem sich diese Bewegung entwickelt, wird die Betonung auf dem, was Er tut, hinausgehen auf das, wer Er ist.

Dies bedeutet nicht, dass Er mit seinem Wirken aufhören wird, sondern der Herr selbst ist weit erstaunenswerter und interessanter, als Seine Werke es sind. Genauso wie sich die Gemeinde im 1. Jahrhundert täglich im Tempel traf, um die Lehre der Apostel zu hören, so können auch wir einen Hunger, den Herrn zu kennen, erwarten, der die Sehnsucht nach Lehre auf neue Stufen anheben wird. Eine Vielzahl von Christen ist unterdessen daran, zu ihrer ersten Liebe zurückzukehren. Der Hunger, Ihn zu kennen, schafft ein unersättliches Verlangen danach, Ihn besser zu kennen und ausgerüstet zu sein, Seinen Willen zu tun.

Ich sah, wie Glaube zu einer Faust wurde, die ein Loch durch einen bedeckten Wolkenhimmel schlug. Dieser bedeckte Wolkenhimmel stellte die dämonische Beengung über Amerika dar. Während sich weitere Löcher öffneten, begannen Engel, durch diese Lücken hindurch herabzukommen. Je grösser die Öffnungen waren, desto mehr Engel strömten durch sie hindurch. Sie trugen Reichtümer des Himmels mit sich, die alles beinhalteten, was wir brauchten. Der Himmel ist dabei, auf die Erde durchzudringen. Daraus wird sich ein grosser Unterschied entwickeln zwischen denen, die den Herrn kennen und ihm dienen, und denen, die dies nicht tun.

Todd Bentley hat ein Loch durch die Finsternis über Lakeland geschlagen, der Himmel hat sich durch diese Öffnung ergossen, und diese Lücke wird sich auch noch weiter vergrössern. Was in Lakeland geschieht, ruft in vielen mehr Glauben hervor. Der „Glaubensbarometer“ hat begonnen, im ganzen Leib Jesu zu steigen. Auch viele andere strecken sich nun danach aus. Die Grösse dieser Öffnungen hängt von der Grösse unseres Glaubens ab. Ich bete, dass das, was in Lakeland geschieht, auch weiter in Gang gehalten wird und zunimmt.

Doch das, was in Lakeland freigesetzt wurde, wird fortbestehen, ungeachtet dessen, ob die Erweckung in Lakeland anhalten wird oder nicht. Ein Feuer wurde entfacht, das bereits zu grosse Ausmasse erreicht hat, um es stoppen zu können.

Die Emails und weitere Nachrichten, die ich über die beeindruckenden Dinge, die Gott tut, erhalte, haben sich in den letzten paar Wochen multipliziert. Wenn Gott sich bewegt, können die Leute ihre Begeisterung nicht mehr eindämmen. Dies stellt die grösste Kraftquelle der Evangelisation dar. Ich habe wiederholt zahlreiche Gruppen von Christen an Konferenzen gefragt, wie viele von ihnen durch Erweckungen, Missionsfeldzüge, evangelistische Aktionen oder durch christliches Fernsehen zum Herrn gekommen sind. Zusammengefasst sind es fast immer weniger als 5 Prozent, und oft sind es nur 2 Prozent der Leute.
Wenn ich jedoch frage, wie viele durch das Zeugnis eines Freundes oder eines Verwandten zum Herrn gekommen sind, dann melden sich die anderen 95 Prozent oder mehr. Eine ermutigte Gemeinde ist die mächtigste evangelistische Streitmacht dieser Welt. Der Ermutigungspegel steigt wieder drastisch an, seit der Herr offensichtlich erneut in Bewegung ist.

Ich habe einige sehr aussergewöhnliche Besuche und Bewegungen von Gott miterlebt, doch denke ich nicht, dass ich zuvor auch nur annähernd so etwas erlebt habe wie dies, was wir momentan wahrnehmen. Auch wenn die Erweckung nun aufhören sollte, so wäre sie noch immer von historischer Bedeutung. Doch die Erweckung hält nicht nur an, sondern nimmt nach wie vor an Schwungkraft zu. Es ist fast schon furchterregend, wenn man sich vorstellt, wie grossartig sie noch werden wird.

Es gibt viele praktischen Dinge, die wir beachten sollten, während sich all dies entfaltet. Über die nächsten paar Wochen werde ich von dem mitteilen, was ich in mehr als 35 Jahren gelernt habe, als ich mich mit Erweckungen und Bewegungen von Gott befasst habe. Wir können viel Hilfreiches von denen lernen, die diese Dinge selbst miterlebt haben. Ich denke, dass es mit dem Ehren der Väter begonnen hat, und die grösste Ehre, die wir unseren geistlichen Vätern zuteil werden lassen können, ist die, ihre Botschaft zu beherzigen.

Then, one night P. Steve responded to a vision he had and called the DRUMS forth….and you just have to see this… We tried to find words to describe the glory and his presence that we were immersed in…covering us…..it was new, fresh, enveloping!

Can Lightning Strike Twice?
Congregation Experiences Upsurge of God's Glory, 2008-06-09

For Pastor Steve and Kathy Gray of World Revival Church in Kansas City, the lightnings of God first struck on March, 24, 1996 igniting an international revival which became known as The Smithton Outpouring. Reporters around the globe documented over a quarter of a million people followed the flames to a town of 532, in the middle of nowhere, to experience the power and presence of God, resulting in powerful demonstrations of healing and life changing encounters.

But could this "lightning" strike again, creating yet another life-changing event so powerful that it would cause Gray and his congregation to become a sign and wonder again?

If May 2, 2008 is any indication, it appears the answer is yes. On May 2, during that Friday service, an upsurge of the Glory of God suddenly filled the sanctuary as Gray skillfully coached his congregation into the thick, presence and Glory of God that followed.

Members of the congregation grappled with words to describe what they were experiencing in the breathtaking God moment. Sweat and tears poured off the faces of those who pressed themselves into the altar. Many found it difficult to move, others found it impossible to stand. The sense that the supernatural workings of God had increased was certainly evident in those struggling to describe the sensations:

Gray adds, "God wants a people that are distinct from all the other people of the earth. He will do that with His Glory. He is coming with his creative power and calling us to His Kingdom. I am helping people turn and get themselves into position where they can experience the Glory of God that Moses had. Now everyone can experience this. It is in our midst. The power is within us and His Glory is all around us. We have felt it upon our bodies and in our churches … It is in our midst. Whatever the measure of his fullness is, we want it and are experiencing it every time we meet."
