Formual1 has gone deeper into crisis as the price of the super licence has gone up by a massive amount. The drivers are not happy with the pricing but will have to pay it to get a seat in the next season. The hike is huge and can never improve the number of aspirants. It does look like the drivers will have nothing to take home after a long season of driving. The other administrators have appreciated the move despite the abnormal increase in the price of the licence. Hope things change for the better in the sport soon!!!

Surviving a scare

Michael Schumacher has been biking ever since his exit from Formula1. The man has not been prolific in this but has been making headlines. He is now on the front pages for wrong reasons. He crashed in a race, quite badly. However, he has come out with a statement saying that he is perfectly fine. He did sustain some very minor injuries to his knee and arms. He has had some heavier crashes in F1 but biking does have a greater chance of hurting you. It’s a good thing that he has come out without any!!!

So the waiting game is over. Pakistan has responded to India’s submission of evidence on the Mumbai terror attacks. It was a tough time for the Indians as they played the patient poker. Pakistan has filed an FIR against the one terrorist who was caught alive. It does look like the largest democracy in the world will now wait for the punishment. The quantum of the punishment will be decided soon after reviewing the entire evidence. This is their first step to reducing the tension with the nation!!!

The war in Sri Lanka seems to be coming to an end with over 10000 civilians crossing from war zone to safe zone. There have been serious concerns over the fate of the remaining trapped citizens. But the Sri Lankan army is fast progressing into the deep forest of Mullathivu causing the LTTE region to shrink at a fast rate. It is believed that the Army is taking enough steps to protect the civilians and provide them with enough medical care and refreshments.

Initially one day game they started with sixty over starts’s per side a game. So time taken for first half play will takes four hours likewise for rest of the play. Finally the five match losing streak is over for Australia. They managed to win the third match against New Zealand, but still trail the series by 2-1. Actually the losing streak ended where all it started in the same SCG during the last series against South Africa. With this win Australia avoid their worst ever performance of six consecutive ODI defeat which happened during the captaincy of Mark Taylor. Many believe that this victory could change the tide for the remainder of the series. But it will be a tough task to beat the highly inspired New Zealand team.

He has now come out with the statement that it was Benitez who played tricks on him. Had it not been him, he could have stayed at Anfield for long. That’s what he thinks. India will be looking to go to Number1 in the ODI rankings if they do white wash Srilanka. However, things depend on the NewZealand Australia series as well. If NZ does white wash Australia, India will move to number 1. They have already taken the second spot and NZ have moved to third. Its a great challenge for the Aussies now. India will be looking to do their second white wash. They are in the form of their life and the Srilankans look like they are down and out. IPL season 2

Its rather a disappointing story as far as the India Pakistan tension is concerned. The recent friction between the two countries has meant that the Pakistan players will not be playing the second IPL season. This is serious blow to them given the amount of money they are paid. They are now reluctant to sign a contract with the PCB. Also, Michael Clarke will not be playing citing busy schedule. He will not be allowed to play the IPL for a few more years said the Chairman of IPL. Really pathetic situation in India now as the player number has gone down!!!

Liverpool down and out

It was a match to forget for the Liverpool side as they lost in the fourth round of the FA cup. They lost to their city rivals Everton after a late winner sealed the match for them. Playing without Keane, Gerrard exited the ground after a hamstring problem. It was too early in the game and they never looked positive after that. This put the Everton side on top, and with three minutes to go, the match was sealed in the extra time. So Everton will now face Aston Villa!!!

A photo showing him inhaling from a marijuana pipe was recently published in a tabloid. Phelps later confessed and apologized to all his fans and his country that he would never perform such an embarrassing act. But Michael Phelps appears to have escaped the wrath of his sponsors despite such a humiliating action. He also hopes to win back the hearts of his admirers buy performing well in the forthcoming competitions and try setting new records. The Mystery Spinner, as he was called, Ajantha Mendis has been well picked by the Indians in the first ODI. It was his second wicket less match, after reaching the fifty wicket mark in less than twenty games. However, it now looks like he can no more be called the mystery as far as the Indians are concerned. They have been spectacular in reading all his deliveries and they are now slamming the bowler all round the park. Srilankans can no more rely on their trump card. It’s a tough series for them now!!!

The defending champion is gone and the Australian open now looks like it will be yet another Federer Nadal show down. Novak lost in the quarter finals to Roddick, who has now got the maximum number of aces in the tournament. It was a very difficult day for him as he went on to win the first set. But the heat of the open was getting to him as he suffered from illness after losing the second set to Roddick. The match was evenly poised before his medical time out but it was all over after that. He retired mid way and Roddick saw his name sail into the semis. He will be facing Federer in the semis and it looks like the lone American challenge will be on till Roddick survives!!!
