It is in the province of Alajuela in the little town of La Fortuna. It is known as the most active volcano in Costa Rica. Experts label the Arenal Volcano as the newest and also the most active mountains in Costa Rica.
Arenal has been named a volcano since the 1800’s, even though in those times it was named Costa Rica Volcano or Rio Frio. Some estimates state that the volcano is over 4000 years old. This area of Costa Rica was new up until 1937, when a few explorers climbed to the top that year.

The greatest eruption of the Arenal Volcano came about in 1968 after more than 400 years of no activity. That eruption ruined the whole region of Arenal, and stole the lives of 87 inhabitants. It finally affected over 232 sq. kms. and went on for a number of days. The explosion was so strong that it shaped three new craters. From the time of this incredible explosion, the Arenal Volcano has been active and anyone can see minor explosions very often, mostly at night.

Arenal is quite a well-visited tourist location, most of the visitors enjoy seeing the nocturnal explosions not to mention the well-known hot springs. The most popular hot spring near Arenal is Tabacon. Arenal Volcano is one of the seven volcanoes that tourists are able to check out on their vacation in Costa Rica.

Visit Costa Rica to see Humback Whales on your next Vacation

Is Costa Rica on your list of places to visit for your next vacation? If you answered "yes" to this question, then you will definitely want to consider humpback whale-watching while you are in Costa Rica. This is undoubtedly a new and exciting idea, but it is quickly becoming more popular every year.

The ideal time to view these whales is from Aug. to Oct. in the Southern Hemisphere, and from Dec. through April in the Northern Hemisphere. The humpback whale is the whale that is easiest to spot in Costa Rica. These whales tend to travel north during the summer months and then head down to Costa Rican waters in the winter months.

Some 50 Costa Rican Tour companies offer these trips to view the humpback whales. In 2007, Costa Rica recieved over 100,000 tourists to watch these whales jump and swim. During the past 10 years the number of visitors coming to Costa Rica to see the humpback whales increased around 74%, this percentage represents the largest in all of Latin America.

Costa Rica is home to the Ballena National Park, this park is in charge of protecting an area of Costa Rican beach and ocean to provide a safe area for the whales to live. The Ballena National Park is located near Punta Uvita in Puntarenas. This national park not only controls areas of the ocean where the whales are mating, but also some areas of land as well. The humpback whale has been considered an endangered species since 1967, and it is estimated that there are over 10,000 living in the world right now.

United States’ economic disaster not affecting Costa Rica’s real estate

People would suspect with the economic situation that the United States is experiencing recently, Costa Rica’s properties would be negatively affected. According to some experienced real estate agents, this could be a misconception. During the last five years or so, the real estate market in Costa Rica has been thriving. Most of this is due in part to North Americans travelling to Costa Rica with tons of cash, ready to purchase anything on the Costa Rican real estate market from lots to condos or even villas.

In recent times, things seemed to have changed; due in part to decreasing stock markets and higher interest rates from lending banks. The Costa Rican real estate condition, one might think, may be taking a different turn. Not so, say some very skilled real estate agents. One negative factor of the big real estate “boom” was the fact that many new agents were selling costly properties, now things are beginning to level off. What will happen with an high priced property is, it will sit on the real estate market for a long while, the seller will have to reduce the price, and then it will eventually sell when the owner becomes more realistic.

Another matter, potential property purchasers, are faced with is the growing cost of construction materials. The costs of raw materials are definitely growing, but this is true everywhere not just in Costa Rica’s market. Even with these increasing costs, Costa Rica still has a very inexpensive price-per-square foot to build and is a big attraction for retirees and others looking for a more laid-back lifestyle. Countless economists claim that the real estate market in Costa Rica will start to increase eventually, when the price of construction materials diminishes or stops rising. Potential real estate buyers, property owners, and real estate agents have no reason for concern. Things have just made a 360 degree turn and are just like they were 5 years ago, before the huge real estate “boom”.

Birdwatching in Costa Rica

A lot of travelers think that any season is the best season to visit Costa Rica. Costa Rica’s great weather is the result of a combination of rain and sun heat that makes everything more tropically and beautifully green. With the pristine and untouched virgin landscape of the Costa Rican rainforest, it would seem the last place that most individual developers and investors would want to work towards developing vacation homes and condos of the type that are projected for development in the near future. But after closer inspection, it would seem that it is the extraordinarily lenient property laws and rights of individual owners in Costa Rica that has fueled the incredible boost in attention that the Costa Rica area has received in general from developers and investors from around the world. With this increased level of interest, it seems only natural that developers and investors would flock to the area in order to secure the most succulent and prime areas of real estate that make such an effort to recoup on the investment that is necessary for these types of property developments. In the case of these types of world-class developers, the lenient government attitude toward property rights makes all the difference in the ability to develop in the area for future real estate investment.

With all of the focus on investing in Costa Rica real estate before the investment boom begins in full stride, there are developers who are literally leapfrogging each other in order to get into some of the most profitable locations in areas where properties seem that they would begin to generate tremendous amount of revenue more quickly than in other areas. By monopolizing the prime properties, early investors and early adopters of the development strategy in Costa Rica can ensure that they are ahead of the curve and are able to profit not only before any others but in larger amounts as well, a critical component to the Costa Rica real estate investment strategy.

As more and more developers and investors pour into the area, it becomes critical for the serious real estate investor to get off the couch and move into the Costa Rica real estate arena and ensured the available profits ahead of the competition. This is considered to be one of the most critical parts of the Costa Rica development strategy, has waiting till after the crunch will only result in higher prices and less profit for the Costa Rica real estate developer who is concerned with the long-term profits from the investment and development of their investment property.

Costa Rican Government Extremely Liberal Towards Property Owners

With the amazing popularity of Costa Rica as a real estate development and investment area, it is not surprising to see some concern by investors as to what the future might hold for the Costa Rican government. Costa Rica is known for its extremely liberal and lenient rights of property owners, rights that far exceed those of comparable countries around the world, where the concept of property rights is almost laughable. By contrast, Costa Rica offers a tremendous amount of privileges and rights as property owner that are extremely attractive to developers and investors in general to see the area as extremely lucrative and potentially a real estate development capital of the world. By building vacation homes and retirement communities in Costa Rica, developers and investors both can generate massive amounts of profit from these types of investments over an extended period of time. With this popularity of Costa Rica as a development and investment vehicle, many visitors have indicated their desire to invest into the extremely liberal and lenient government controlled area. With this focus by investors on remaining in a friendly area, it becomes clear that simply low prices and ideal real estate isn't enough to fuel the interest of developers and investors. These factors must also be accompanied by strong property rights. Investing in a property only to have it get yanked out from underneath you is no way to protect the individual investments in areas around the world.

With the extremely liberal rights that are available to property owners in Costa Rica, it is patently obvious why so many individuals have made investments in this area. It is interesting to note that while the specific leniency inherent in laws and legislation of the local government has much to do with the popularity of investment from foreign nationals, in some areas the exact opposite is true as the lack of property rights tend to keep other areas around the world from succeeding in this way as potential investment vehicles. As Costa Rica leads the way in real estate development and investment, it becomes rather clear that few areas of the world can compete with Costa Rica as a potential real estate gold mine. With such incredible popularity and a perfect union of low prices, high demand and liberal property owner rights, Costa Rica has cemented itself as the investment vehicle of for the current generation of property developers and investors.

With such incredible popularity and a perfect union of low prices, high demand and liberal property owner rights, Costa Rica has cemented itself as the investment vehicle of for the current generation of property developers and investors.

Costa Rica Receives More Attention from International Travelers

Costa Rica has boomed in reaching years with international visitors interested in seeing the Costa Rica rain forest, one of the last areas on earth that is still in the pristine condition that existed on the planet many decades ago. By visiting Costa Rica, visitors take a step back in time to the lush rainforests that existed in the primitive days of man years ago. This attraction of living amongst nature and coexisting peacefully with the harmonious nature of the rain forest has drawn many visitors to the Costa Rica area from all around the world. With this international appeal, the Costa Rica area promises to hold a tremendous amount of potential for developers and real estate investors over the coming years. In fact, there is so much interest in the area that these types of investors and developers have already flocked to the area to take advantage of the prime real estate that currently exists in the area. With all the emphasis on investing in the area real estate and the potential for an explosion in profit in the future, Costa Rica has proven to be an extraordinarily popular location for these types of investments by shrewd real estate and development experts.

In the future, Costa Rica will very likely look quite a bit different from what it currently resembles. The primitive washboard roads and thatched huts will very likely be replaced by modern buildings and high tech structures, the staple of modern civilization. With Costa Rica's undeveloped nature, many international travelers would prefer to see the rain forest in the way it is. But in the face of development, this rarely happens, and it is very likely that in the future, the lush vegetation and beautiful scenery that Costa Rica is so famous for will be replaced with the trappings of modern civilization. While this might seem tragic to some, it is simply the way that progress works as the new replaces the old and nature makes way for the habitations of mankind. With the encroaching needs of mankind to build upon the bones of the rain forest, Costa Rica will almost certainly be transformed into something completely different than what it currently looks like, providing all manner of upscale facilities and modern comforts for the Costa Rica traveler to enjoy. With this focus on progress in moving into the future, it becomes apparent that there are many who have different opinions on the future of Costa Rica and the way in which it should be handled.

Costa Rica Now

The rain is almost gone and it has been a really bad wet season this year. Lots of landslides and houses lost where the not so fortunate poor live on cliff sides. When someone told me that Costa Rica gets about 6 meters a year in rain I laughed. Well now I leave the country in Sept. and Oct. and go to the Northeast for the fall season.

I love Costa Rica for it's beauty and the way people here learn not to worry so much about the small stuff. Costa Rica people live a simple uncomplicated life, the circa of people whose strong family ties and religion know how to comfort and care.

The explosion of tourism is making it's way to every section now and development is running rampant. May the government and the people know when to stop and keep it the beautiful pristine country that it is and not give in to the deep pocketed developers. Progress and tourism is good but infrastructure is lacking for handling the masses that development brings.

Costa Rica just ratified the Central American Free Trade Act by passing it with Costa Rica's first referendum. This was a small margin victory as it saw numerous national protests from it's people opposing the intervention of the USA. American again is the bad guy and we are looked at as the democracy devil. Time marches on and it will tell if the countries monopolies will dissolve and the trade markets that open up will benefit the many skeptical Ticos.

I invite all families to visit this country for it has so much to offer with the natural side that will fill your senses. I will be back in Costa Rica at the end of October and will notice the magnificent emerald color of all the foliage which will be an amazing contrast to what I have experienced on my 45 day road trip up the coast of the USA. Nothing compares to it and it truly is a God shot in this tropical rain forest. Pura Vida (pure life)is what you will here from the local folk in daily conversations as they use it in their greetings. As more and more real estate investors flock to the area, there is a tremendous amount of emphasis on the purchasing and sale of real estate for future development, as developers eye the future as a vehicle for growth and expansion in the Costa Rica area where there is so much emphasis on the potential for vacationing and retirement homes in the beautiful Costa Rica resort landscape. With such a luxurious location, it is only a matter of time before development and infrastructure is put in place to serve the future needs of Costa Rican real estate investors and developers, making for an extremely wise choice for real estate investment.

And as Costa Rica comes in line more and more with the potential values that real estate investors see as being critical to the potential profitability of any investment, the area grows on an economic basis, drawing more and more real estate investors from around the world to the tremendous potential for return on investment that the Costa Rica area represents. This situation results in what basically amounts to a land grab as real estate investors flock to the area interested in gaining control of available land that could potentially be transformed into suitable development properties. If these types of trends continue in the Costa Rica area, the investors who have made such a commitment to the area stand to reap tremendous benefits from the returns that could be generated to the area. With the distinct possibility of wildly phenomenal success in the area, it is very likely that more real estate investors will continue to see the location of as prime for expansion and flock to the area in hopes of seeing their profits soar.

Considering Costa Rica's reputation as a vacation Paradise and retirement dream land, it is easy enough to see why so many people would be interested in investing in the local Costa Rica real estate and making the area their home on a long-term basis. This image of Costa Rica as the perfect vacation resort and retirement paradise is actually pretty accurate, as many visitors would say that there are very few areas in the world that compare with Costa Rica and its potential to be the vacation resort destination Paradise of the world.

Costa Rica-Ideal for Investors

In the case of emerging economies, the entrepreneur or real estate investor who moves quickly is generally well rewarded for their efforts by an escalation and increase in the property value of the real estate, providing a tremendous earnings and return on investment for the real estate investor or professional. With this focus on investing in Costa Rica real estate, the real estate developer or investment professional can secure a swath of land at an extremely low price and maintain it for future development when the Costa Rica area begins to shape up in the future. With this tremendous emphasis on buying and holding real estate in the Costa Rica area, it becomes clear that real estate investors are focused on remaining in the area for the long haul, well into the future, as the properties will not truly begin to explode in value until the available infrastructure is constructed and in place for future development. With the concept of future development always the topic of speculation, real estate investors who are interested in the Costa Rica area for future expansion purposes stand to reap tremendous rewards and profits from the Costa Rica real estate investment that has so many property investors interested in the wide open world of Costa Rica real estate and investing in the ubiquitous rain forest properties.

In the future, when Costa Rica is completely developed and there are few areas remaining to build on, the value of these properties, which are currently next to nothing, even for a waterfront or Oceanside parcel of property, will very likely skyrocket, making instant moguls out of all of the real estate investors who have the presence of mind to invest early in the Costa Rica real estate that provides such strong returns on investment for real estate professionals and developers. In this future Costa Rica, when the entire world has become aware of the potential of the area as a vacationing and resort area, real estate investors who plan ahead and are well aware of the profit to be generated in the area and have manipulated the market to put themselves in control of these types of properties to some extent will be extraordinarily wealthy. In the meantime, those real estate investors who let this incredible opportunity slide by will very likely be left with nothing to show for their efforts.

Investors Flock to Costa Rica Real Estate

The popularity of Costa Rica real estate has been well documented amongst those who are aware of these types of trends. With the ability to buy Costa Rica real estate cheaply and hold it for later development, investors have succeeded at building a strong return on investment in the Costa Rica real estate arena. By purchasing Costa Rica real estate and waiting for infrastructure and development to catch up with these pristine and unspoiled areas, savvy investors properly leverage the strong return on investment that can be found in Costa Rica and the available dirt cheap Costa Rica real estate.

Considering the extremely low prices of available Costa Rica real estate at the current moment in time, it is easy to see why the area is so popular as a real estate investment vehicle. With minimal investment, real estate investors can find just the properties they require for future development and purchase them ahead of the wave of incoming developers and homebuyers.

By positioning the buyers investment ahead of the curve in this way, the real estate investor can be certain that the investment that they make today will remain strong and generate a tremendous amount of income in the future. Without this focus on development and introduction of infrastructure, there is little need for developers and real estate investors in the area at all and few would venture into the area. But with the promise of future development and the focus on Costa Rica as an international real estate investment vehicle from real estate investors and property developers all around the world it is easy to see that there is no end of profit to be made from development in the world-famous Costa Rica area. Simply by purchasing undervalued properties and waiting until development catches up in the area, real estate investors and property developers can leverage the virtually unknown potential in the Costa Rica area to earn potential millions later on in the life of the property.

While many real estate investors are already familiar with the potential of Costa Rica as a profit generating vehicle, there are many who simply resist the urge to invest in the area due to perceived difficulties in developing infrastructure. While the lack of infrastructure is certainly notable, and few would care to visit such an area without any type of amenities such as electricity and running water, it is important to note that in the future, there will most certainly be a strong emphasis on development and developing the type of infrastructure required to make the Costa Rica area a profitable investment for everyone involved, including the local government, which is set to reap a tremendous windfall in the form of property taxes and revenue tax in the coming years with all the real estate growth and infrastructure development.

Costa Rica Real Estate Continues to Boom

The popularity of Costa Rica properties as a real estate investment vehicle is well-known throughout the developed world, as people who are concerned with earning a strong return on their investment overall are interested in investing in areas that are very likely to improve in the long-term. With the recent real estate slump in the United States, there is a lot of emphasis on investing in foreign locations and foreign real estate, such as the available prime real estate located in luscious and tropical Costa Rica. With the popularity of these types of available real estate properties in areas such as Costa Rica, real estate investors can buy property, hold it for extended periods of time and then build on it once the infrastructure and tools for development are in place at a later date. This focus on purchasing real estate and holding it for later development is common practice in many parts of the world, but only recently has begun to become a staple of modern day life in the Costa Rica area. With all of the real estate investment potential, the prices have begun to soar, making it important for real estate investors to move quickly into the Costa Rica real estate development market.

As the Costa Rica area becomes more and more popular for real estate investment and development, the real estate boom continues at a feverish pace, bringing in new visitors and new homeowners from around the world to invest in the world-famous Costa Rica real estate in the hopes that future development will bring extreme wealth and riches to the real estate investor in the burgeoning real estate market of the future. In the past, areas such as Costa Rica that have experienced a tremendous amount of fast development have become very strong investment areas over an extended period of time, boding well for the overall health of the Costa Rica real estate market for the long-term. As more and more real estate investors flock to Costa Rica, it becomes obvious that the area is a prime source of investment real estate for savvy investors from all around the world. With all of the available areas that are ripe for development, it is a simple matter to simply pick a parcel of land at random and hold onto it for a long-term return on investment.

Costa Rica Real Estate Increases in Value after Storms Strike Nearby Areas

While the incredible popularity of Costa Rica and the Costa Rica area as a real estate investment vehicle area with tremendous future promise has been greatly publicized and reported on by industry sources, lately the activity of storms in nearby areas has prompted the Costa Rica real estate market into a spectacular boom that takes advantage of the focus on the need to develop in safe and reliable areas, protected from extreme storms in which it is reasonably safe to invest in to real estate and real property investment holdings. The focus on reduced risk from active storms and killer tornadoes and hurricanes is a common fear by most real estate investors who are familiar with the devastation and incredible toll of damage that has been recorded in all types of devastating storms and hurricanes over the history of the practice of keeping records of these types of storms. Considering the devastation that can occur in results from storms that form offshore and move in to the populated areas, it is obviously wise to choose real estate and development projects in areas that are less than prone to attracting killer storms in this way.

With this focus on choosing safe areas that rarely see massive storm damage, real estate in Costa Rica has come under increased focus by international developers who believe it is ideal as a location that sees very little storm activity. With the tendency to avoid building and developing in storm prone communities, Costa Rica can only benefit from the added attention of developers around the world looking for a safe location to develop and construct new facilities and homes for prospective buyers.

Real estate investors who are familiar with these types of trends have already begun snapping up available Costa Rica real estate and development land packages, specifically focusing on oceanfront and waterfront properties that are available for a fraction of their value as developed properties. In the future, there will be a large push for infrastructure in these areas and the values will raise exponentially, as the flood of incoming vacationing families and retiring couples will drive the market values of developed properties into the stratosphere, bringing massive profits to developers and property investment managers who were farsighted enough to invest in these Costa Rica properties ahead of time, effectively beating the rush and maximizing the available profit margin.

Costa Rica Info-Preparing to Move to Costa Rica

Moving to Costa Rica is the dream of many Americans and other people from around the world. Costa Rica is beautiful and lush and attracts visitors from all over. The focus on the tropical paradise lifestyle brings visitors from all over the world in attempt to experience the thrill of getting back to nature and living amongst nature's beauty on a day-to-day basis. Exposing the visitor to the beauty of Costa Rica is like unveiling a treasure that has been withheld from sight. But simply vacationing in Costa Rica is far different from moving to the area and living there on a full-time basis. Costa Rica is still largely undeveloped, as many many acres of rainforest and woodlands are still considered to be virgin territories, unspoiled by development and the rampant spread of civilization. While this undeveloped nature might be exactly what the real estate investor or vacationing user is looking for, it is also a major factor in the convenience of living in the Costa Rica area, as there are very few markets and even fewer large pockets of civilization and large cities.

Without widespread development there are no immediate hospitals or other types of necessities that can be very beneficial to the homeowner. Living near adequate health services is almost a must and a priority for many people, as the modern day's focus on health and remaining well requires access to modern doctors and the ability to receive regular medical treatment and checkups as well as simple peace of mind in knowing that should the user required medical treatment that is not far away in an emergency situation.

Medical treatment and other necessities of life are considered a run-of-the-mill occurrence in the United States and other developed countries, but in areas such as Costa Rica it can be a rare consideration for the user and a difficult to utilize luxury. This and other factors should be considered before moving to the Costa Rica area, as those in poor health or requiring constant attention from medical services might want to rethink what area of Costa Rica they might like to live in.

While many areas of Costa Rica have plenty of adequate healthcare within easy traveling distance of major metropolitan areas, much of the areas that are popular with real estate investment speculators and developers are somewhat remote and are located quite far from available health care.

Costa Rica-Information to Get You Back to Nature

Costa Rica is famous for its prime real estate investment market and luscious scenery. The Pacific coast of northern Costa Rica, the province of Guanacaste, has visitors flocking in by the thousands to select property that is still similar to the pristine and virgin tropical islands of centuries ago, but for the vast development and settlement of mankind. Although it takes five hours to drive to the area from the nearest airport in Liberia, an open-air warehouse with a poorly built corrugated tin roof featuring no climate control whatsoever, the area has experienced an incredible boon in interest in local real estate from developers and vacationers as well as those planning to purchase real estate for retirement purposes.

The target of all this activity is aimed squarely at the baby boomers of America's affluent generation, as hotels and developments springing up all over Guanacaste, luring the American baby boomer and their large amounts of discretionary income. Three major developments are under construction selling condominiums for half a million dollars and a tremendous amount of smaller and less ambitious projects are also undergoing construction in the area. Less than three years ago, the Liberia Airport began to feature direct flights from the American mainland and less than 50,000 flyers arrived in Liberia from the United States that year. 300,000 travelers visited the area from the United States in 2005, indicating that the local real estate and community is experiencing a tremendous boon. The region traditionally has been home to backpackers and hikers willing to endure the harsh track into no man's land to visit the area and its exceptional surfing and environmental beauty.

The recent popularity in Costa Rican real estate as an investment vehicle has a lot to do with the loose and liberal ownership privileges in the nation, as Costa Rica features the longest surviving democratic government in Latin America and is very friendly to land ownership and has a policy of direct land ownership for property buyers and owners. The odds of having your real estate holdings appropriated by the government are nonexistent in the area due to the generous citizens rights and land ownership regulations of the area.

Vacation In Costa Rica On A Budget

When couples discuss Costa Rica information and talk about their vacation plans, usually the wife immediately begins dreaming of beautiful water falls and lush, verdant fields of flora framed with pools of water radiating warmth and relaxation. The main Costa Rica information you need to know is the climate and the money. Because as we all know, you want to be able to spend time on the beach and spend your money on the many available shopping venues and stores located in this beautiful retreat.

The climate is very tropical. The seasons don’t change so much as the rain amounts do. If you are going from May to November then you need to be prepared because this is the rainy season. Have an umbrella with you at all times, or be prepared to be soaked. From December to April you don’t have to worry about it as much, but you still may want to bring a rain jacket with you just in case. All in all, enjoy the warm weather and pleasant breezes

When it comes to Costa Rica information about spending money, you want to be fully prepared. They do not use American dollars, they use Colones. Costa Rica information sties list several reasons that you should not plan on using dollars as your form of currency. The main reason is that just aren’t accepted. It is just as if a person from France came to the United States. He wouldn’t assume he could use his Francs here right? So don’t assume you can use your dollars everywhere either. Only the tourist havens accept them, and those are the places you should generally avoid when looking for a realistic picture of what Costa Rica is really like.

Another reason that Costa Rica information sites say to avoid using dollars is that anywhere you be allowed to use dollars are way overcharging you to begin with. They are there mainly to get your money, and not to sell you some of the most beautiful ceramic, paintings, and other works of art that Costa Rica is known for. Don’t fall for the tourist trap and pay $100.00 American dollars when you can pay far less in Colones. Take what Costa Rica information you do know and go off the beaten track to find some of the most superb and country specific items that they are selling. Use your hard earned money to enjoy some of the stores found outside of the tourist traps. That is where you will get the real deals.

When it comes to visiting a country that you are not familiar with, it is wise to plan out your trip by checking many of the Costa Rica information sites online. That way when you get there you won’t miss something that you truly wanted to see. Also, you won’t be stuck doing what every other tourist is doing. Be bold, and enjoy the real Costa Rica, not the tourist destination. You will find some of the most beautiful geography, people, and land that the country has to offer, and that is what you are taking the vacation to see.

Costa Rica Information that is Off the Beaten Path

Many people who visit Costa Rica simply go to hang out on the beach. That is fine, but if you are more an adventurous person then you may consider doing something that according to most Costa Rica information sites is a little off the beaten path. You don’t want to spend your whole time with other people from your own country. You want to get to know the beautiful country of Costa Rica, not just sit on a beach in San Jose.

A great piece of Costa Rica information is to go to Manzanillo which is just a short drive from Puerto Viejo. This is located on the Caribbean side of the country where you can drive to the end of the town towards the South. With a dirt road that continues to the beach you can also take a chance of visiting the rainforest which is amazing in itself. The trail that you drive on weaves in and out and really gives you an amazing view of the countryside. There you can find many of the deserted beaches that you have only seen in pictures, which are pretty much free of the many tourists. Also, this is your chance to see some wildlife that isn’t behind cages in your local zoo. Get out and hike a bit to really take in the beauty of it all.

Here’s a little tidbit of Costa Rica information; Costa Rica has a gigantic amount of butterflies. These aren’t your ordinary garden type of butterflies either; they have almost 5000 different types. You can see them on your hike or drive to Manzanillo, especially if you stop on a trail through the rain forest. If you aren’t up for hiking through the rain forest then you may want to consider some of the more tourist friendly butterfly zoos which have all the latest and biggest variety of butterflies to show off. One of the best in the country is The Monteverde Butterfly Garden. With innumerable varieties both you and your children will be stunned at their splendor.

One last bit of Costa Rica Information that you should remember for the off the beaten path type of vacation is to visit some of the beaches on the outskirts of the tourist areas. Try to take a tour of Costa Rica. The Playa Espadilla Sur Beach is not only known for its wonderful soft sand and warm water but you also have excellent views of the ocean once you reach the lookout points. The walk to the lookout point takes you right through the forest where you are bound to see many of the monkeys that play around in the trees. You can also hope to catch a glimpse of the three toed sloth that makes its home there. Just watch out for the lizards that may jump on you from the trees!

If you follow any of the above listed Costa Rica information then you can guarantee yourself one of the most amazing and gorgeous Costa Rican vacations ever. You won’t regret it.

The Cost of Moving to Costa Rica

Has it always been a dream of yours to relocate to someplace that is tropical and warm? In order to obtain the Costa Rica information that you need, you should contact either the Costa Rican consulate or the Costa Rican embassy as far in advance as you can, to make sure you are prepared for the trip ahead of time and have met all of the requirements.

Travelers to Costa Rica who are coming from the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom can travel to Costa Rica without a visa as long as they have a passport which is valid. If you are traveling using your passport without a visa, then you should know that your passport has to be valid for at least six months beyond whatever period of time you wish to stay. Passports used by United Kingdom nationals must be endorsed either with 'British Citizen', 'British Overseas Territory Citizen', or 'British Overseas National' in order for them to be valid. If you were not aware of this Costa Rica information, you may end up trapped at the airport and unable to enjoy everything that Costa Rica has to offer.

Travelers from New Zealand, Australia, Ireland and South Africa can stay in Costa Rica for as many as thirty days without having a visa. They must apply for an extension of stay if they stay longer than these initial thirty days.
