2009 County Fair Winner

Jeff Gordon Chevrolet was a sponsor for this years County Fair held out at Wilmington International Airport and as part of the sponsorship the dealership gave away a brand new LG 50" Plasma TV. We had over 1,000 entries all hoping to get their hands on an early Christmas present.

Each year the County Fair rolls in to Wilmington and is hosted at the Wilmington International Airport. The dates for this years fair was from October 29th through November 7th.

Gordon Takes Pole

Jeff Gordon took pole for the Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway last Friday. This was Jeff's first pole of the season and his 68th career pole. Jeff finished the race in 9th, taking his overall standings to 3rd just 112 points behind Jimmie Johnson. Jeff is still in the running for the Chase for the Championship. Fellow Hendrick Motorsport teammates Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin finished 25th, 38th and 4th.

Be The Match is $500 better off...

$500 was raised at the 2nd Annual Cape Fear Corvettes Car Show hosted at Jeff Gordon Chevrolet for Be The Match Foundation. Be The Match is very close to our hearts with the Hendrick Marrow program and this year along with the Cape Fear Corvette Club we were able to raise $500. The Cape Fear Corvette Club held a 50/50 raffle at their 2nd Annual Car Show with all the proceeds going to the charity and the dealership matching what the club raised.

So far, the Hendrick Marrow Program has raised over 1.7 million dollars and typed over 31,000 marrow donors. But, the race is not over. We still need your help. To learn more about the program, complete a donor form or read patient stories, visit the Hendrick Marrow Web site.

2009 Jeff Gordon Chevrolet's United Way Campaign

It was another successful year for Jeff Gordon Chevrolet's United Way campaign, the dealership held a week-long campaign with meetings, games and a luncheon. This year was no different with a tremendous turn out and the dealership and employees managed to pledge $33,000. Every year we try and surpass last years total and this year we managed to do so and increase our pledge by 10%. Thanks to all the staff and Jeff Gordon Chevrolet for continuing to raise money for such a worthy cause.

Yet another top 5 finish

Jeff finished fourth in the Banking 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Saturday night. Jeff was a contender for the championship and keeping pace with Jimmie Johnson. The car faded in the closing laps but was able to hold on to yet another top-5 finish for the season. Jeff moves up to third in the overall standings, just 135 points behind Jimmie Johnson. Fellow Hendrick Motorsports teammates Dale Earnhart Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin finished 38th, 1st and 17th.

2nd place finish for Jeff in the Pepsi 500

A good couple of races for Jeff saw him come runner-up again with his consecutive second place finish at the Auto Club Speedway on Sunday. The Fontana track has always been a good track over the years and this year was no different for the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsport team. This result keeps Jeff's championship hopes alive leaving him in fifth place overall and 105 points behind the current leader Jimmie Johnson. Fellow Hendrick Motorsports teammates Dale Earnhart Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin finished 25th, 1st and 4th.

Another Top 5 Finish for Jeff

Jeff finished 3rd in the Chevy Rock and Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night. In the past RIR has been a good track for Jeff and Saturday night was no different with another top 5 finish. Jeff led for several laps in the race and it looked possible the car was set for a victory but fell back later in the race to leave him with a 3rd place finish. The result earned Jeff a sixth-place seeding for the Chase Cup. Fellow Hendrick Motorsports teammates Dale Earnhart Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin finished 21st, 11th and 4th.

Jimmie Johnson will be driving the #48 Hendrickcars.com car at Eldora Speedway in the September 9th 2009, Prelude to the Dream race. The race will be live on HBO pay-per-view , 11 NASCAR Sprint series drivers including Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon will be participating along with drivers from the Nationwide, IROC, Indy and other series. Four military charities will benefit from the HBO proceeds Wounded Warrior Project, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Operation Homefront, and Fisher House.

Another 2nd place finish for Jeff

Jeff took his 11th top 5 finish in the Carfax 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, his 2nd place finish at Michigan this season. It was a good weekend for the No. 24 car and his team, with a sound pit strategy and solid racing Jeff managed to gain several positions in the closing laps. This result puts Jeff back in 2nd place for the overall rankings and cut Tony Stewart's lead to just 284 points. A bad day at the office for Jeff!

Jeff finished 37th in the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at the Watkins Glen International on Monday. Not once but twice was Jeff involved in wrecks, the first was a ding early on when David Stremme lost control and went off course. The second came later on in the race when Jeff was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sam Hornish Jr. wrecked and presented the N0. 24 Chevy with a road block at high-speed, the inevitable crash sent Jeff to the pits for the rest of the day. He still remains 3rd overall in the standings but drops to 342 point behind Tony Stewart. Fellow Hendrick Motorsports teammates Dale Earnhart Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin finished 39th, 13th and 23rd.

Jeff Gordon finishes in top 10 at Indianapolis

It was a hard fought race in the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard in Indianapolis on Sunday. His high water mark in the race was 8th but Jeff fell back on the final restart before finishing the race in 9th place. Gordon has already won the Indianapolis Brickyard four-times in his career but he could not match the same outcome this time, as a result he slips down to 3rd in the overall championship rankings. Tony Stewart still leads with Jimmie Johnson taking over in 2nd place. Fellow Hendrick Motorsports teammates Dale Earnhart Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin finished 28th, 13th and 7th.

2nd place finish at Chicagoland

On Saturday July 11th Jeff finished 2nd behind team mate Mark Martin in the Lifelock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. Jeff made some good moves on the track and had good pit strategies, which allowed him to collect 2nd place. It was Jeff's 10th Top 5 finish of the season but, he still remains in 2nd place in the overall Championship 175 points behind Tony Stewart. Fellow Hendrick Motorsports teammates Dale Earnhart Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin finished 15th, 8th and 1st.

2nd place finish at New Hampshire

On Sunday June 28th Jeff finished 2nd behind Joey Logano in the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Jeff was among the top 5 for most of the race and fort closely with teammate Jimmie Johnson and Kurt Busch. With 28 laps remaining the race was cut short due to the weather and Jeff was in a great position to claim 2nd place. Jeff is currently 2nd place in the standings and has closed the gap on Tony Stewart to just 69 points. Fellow Hendrick Motorsports teammates Dale Earnhart Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin finished 13th, 9th and 14th.

2nd place finish in Michigan

Jeff Gordon took another top 5 finish with a well deserved 2nd place in the LifeLock 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday. Thanks to a great pit strategy and not running out of fuel in the closing laps like other drivers, he collected his 8th top-five finish of the season. Jeff is still in 2nd place in the overall standings behind Tony Stewart by 47 points. Fellow Hendrick teammates Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhart, Jr., and Mark Martin finished 22nd, 14th and 1st.

Jeff Gordon Chevrolet donates $500 to youth baseball

This is the second year Jeff Gordon Chevrolet has participated in the Chevy Youth Baseball Program. As the baseball season starts to wind down at Winter Park Optimist it was time for Jeff Gordon Chevrolet to step forward once again and donate a further $500 to the club. This could not of come at a better time with the club facing possible cuts from the City, which could affect their fall baseball season.
