SCD - Pink Tree

This week's challenge on ~{SCD}~ is to do a Christmas card that has a pink tree on it. Well this has been dead simple for me as I'd already started making a new batch of cards that includes ........ pink trees!! Bet you're surprised I said that!

A while ago I'd white embossed this PaperArtsy tree stamp onto various coloured Bazzill card and cut them out. They've been sitting in the box with those snowflakes for a while. Last night I started to stick them onto card blanks with silicone glue. Spooky or what?! I finished this one this morning ready to post and just have to ink the greetings for the others, which are blue, purple, light pink and even a couple of green ones. How boring!

WOYWW - the return of the snowflakes

It's Wednesday again already, so it must be time to ~~have a nosey~~ share workspaces via ~{Julia's Blog}~. My desk isn't looking too bad this week, it's just organised chaos. The snowflakes have been dug out and I'm finally getting them put onto some cards. Unlike Kathy, I'm going for the easy option and making a few exactly the same - it involves far less thinking!! I've got 6 cards out of one sheet of 12 x 12 paper and have another sheet the same. I got sent a couple of these adornit papers last year for one of my first DT projects on ~{Bubbly Scrumptious}~ and I liked them so much a bought a few more for this year. Last year I went to town and stitched them and made different cards, but not now as it's far too much work to do!!

You can see that I'm batch producing. I've done all of the colour choices, trimming, inking and stamping so all I need to do now is stick. I don't know about you, but I get grumpy that the daylight hours are so few and even with a daylight lamp it's just not the same, so I can dip in and out of sticking during the manky light now.

The paperweight is still glowing and I'm hoping it has strange mystical powers so I can get it to predict the lotto numbers.

Finally, here's the first card to be finished.

I'm off to rummage through the others stash now, whoo!!!

Something Completely Different - never to be repeated

This month's SCD theme is Christmas cards and I need to be getting on with mine so it's good to get pushed.

For this week, it's holly and the ivy in green, red and gold. Well that gave me the perfect excuse to use the holly punch and make the card I've had in my head for a while. Remind me never to listen to my mind again. It doesn't know what it's on about.

I have to say I am pleased with how it turned out, but it was a bugger to put together!!

The holly leaves are tiny and I've punched various shades of green card from my scraps and the odd gold one, then just doodled a couple of veins on them. The tricky bit was the silicone glue and picking them up with tweezers. I got covered. The desk got covered and the card got covered. Thank goodness you can just pick it off once dry!! I've just finished off with some gems and left it at that. I'm going through a less is more phase at the moment after spending months sticking loads of bits onto each card.

I am a numpty

Karen's just called me to check the topic for tomorrow's Bubbly Scrumptious Challenge as I mailed her a photo of 'Something Lace' I had made when, in fact, the topic is something completely different!! Somehow, between reading the e mail and writing it in my notebook, I lost the plot. Sorry about the swearing Karen and Jeremy when I realised what I'd done! Luckily though I did have something I made earlier this year that fits in.

So I shall blog this today instead on here.

I've used the last scraps of denim fabric I had leftover from the size 22 maternity jeans I bought in the sale. Nope, not preggers, nor never have been (sadly), but I loved the fabric so got the biggest pair I could. I decided to have a play and gessoed onto bubble wrap then stamped it onto the fabric and then coloured the gesso with ink. It doesn't show up very well on here. I've sewn the lace around the heart - very fiddly - and then stitched a bit across it.

I cut grungepaper flowers with a sissix die, gessoed them, embossed them and inked them and attached them with buttons, thread and paper flowers and finished off with a stamped butterfly and some gems. If I'd had any, I'd have stuffed some lavender into them.

The little one may become a bag charm yet, I'm undecided.

Oh well, I'd best go and check I've got the rest of the list written out correctly!

WOYWW or third time lucky

I'm still at Lynne's, just till tomorrow though, so my workspace this week is my lap. Again. As I've only been here a little bit this week, I just brought knitting with me. And this week, I'm knitting wrist warmers for Rach.

Actually I started knitting them a year ago for her Christmas pressie. Unfortunately, I knitted them too small so I said I'd remake them for her. Well, it's only taken me 10 months to get round to it and last night I started sewing them up. Would you believe it, I made them too big!! Don't answer that.

Sooo today, I've started them for the third time. Mind you, I saw over on ~{Dyan's Blog}~ that she bought a pair for £3 in matalan! And hers have stripes. But, in true Mastermind fashion, I have started and I'm going to finish. That could also be down to my stubborn streak that I have been told I have lately.

You may wonder why I've got a hair thingy on the end of one needle. Take a look at the rug. I lost the end somewhere in there. That rug of Lynne's is magic. You lose something in it and it will reappear months later, along with beads, sequins and the odd bunny poo.

Off for a nosey at other peeps workspaces now.

Bubbly Scrumptious - use a proverb

Over on the ~{Bubbly Scrumptious Challenge Blog}~, it's time for a new monthly prize challenge, which this month to use the proverb 'a thing of beauty is a joy forever'.

I've made another mini canvas for a Christmas pressie, but I'm not sure who will get it yet! This one is 5 x 5 inchies and I've used acrylic paint and versamagic ink for the base, grungeboard sprayed with glimmer mist, then coated with rock candy paint and then a whole sheet of prima flowers.

I've actually added more flowers since I took the photo as there were a couple of blank spaces that needed filling!!

So if you fancy winning a prize, make something and head on over there.

Favourite day alert!! It's time to have a nose at other people's desks and stash for ~{WOYWW}~

I got back from Lynne's and had to do a few quickie cards for ~{Bubbly Scrumptious}~ yesterday as it was my day to post. I'd done all the writing up and linking etc while at Lynne's so just had the easy bit to do when I got in. You can see a few of the cards on the left. Click on the link above to see them in more detail on the blog. And, if you've not been on there yet, why not?? There's loads of inspiration there if your mojo is flagging.

You can also see the thank you cards I've started for my b'day gifts this morning. I gave up after taking the photo and had a snooze!! I'm still like a child when it comes to thank you's; it's a great idea, but tedious, although I do like the making of them. There are also a couple of other Christmas projects on the go and, oh look, I bought some more Tim stamps!! Birthday money all spent now.

This next photo is for Carmen to show her just how much stuff you can cram onto an ikea desk. I went to ikea recently Carmen and thought they'd got a new desk in as it seemed smaller in there, just like you thought!!

About 95% of the storage is ikea too, you can't beat them for bargains I think. I didn't put the magazine racks on and stacked a couple of their wooden drawer sets in the space. These have wooden stamps in them and a few of the bigger size inkpads.

The bin thing on the desk is for the tiny scraps of paper you get and once it's full (and I've squished it down 2 or 3 times) I fill an envelope with them and put them in the recycling so that the bits don't go flying on collection day.

It looks reasonably tidy and organised I reckon, but just look what's behind me when I'm at the desk:

I'm desperately wanting to get this sorted, but it's just not happening!!

Looking forward to mooching through everybody elses bits now.

Odd one out

I've been able to join in with this week's inchie for ~{SCD}~ again as the title is faces. Criminal as it is, I've cut up some of the Stampotique images I brought with me. A few people asked about them on my last post. I got them from Happy Daze and The Stamp Attic. I'd like to buy more, but it's the run up to Christmas and my birthday money has been allocated to BubblyFunk, Happy Daze and buying copics! I also fancy doing a bit of metal work on projects too. Oh and there's about 500 other things I'd like to buy. Must. Win. Lotto.

To make the picture look equal (yeah I know, it's a bit anal) I've used this lovely santa stamp. It doesn't quite fit, but I can't draw and it'd be an offence to Daniel Torrente, so it'll have to do.

Lucy is planning on doing some, so I'll blog those on the weekend. At the moment, she is in the next room having a play with my copics. Aaaarrrgggghhhh!! I am calm. I am calm. Actually, she's fine with them and may do a better job than me!!

Yay!! It's nosey day!!

I've only been doing this for a short while, but already I'm hooked!! It's time to shine your noses and stick them into other people's craft spaces for WOYWW via ~{Julia's Blog}~.

This week I've got a different space to show you as I'm still at my sister's. This morning I thought it was time I looked to see whose birthday is next and was horrified to see that there are 2 on Friday!! There was me being smug that I was up to date a couple of weeks ago, but I was still my usual dopey self.

Luckily, I'd brought some stamped images and the copics with me as they are easy to take anywhere, so this is the creative mess I am in today:

I've been able to raid Lucy's stash again, this time more deeply as she's at school! I knew she had some card blanks as I'd given her loads of them, but I was stuck with the birthday greeting. I found a box with some fab little stamps, but it's not been opened yet and I didn't want to take that joy away from her, so I got a stamp I gave her and I'll cut the greeting from that. Sorted.

While we're on the subject of copics (well sort of) I got some money for my birthday yesterday so, as well as getting some new stamps with a voucher I got, I'm going to top up the pen collection. I think I may need a new tin though as you can see in the photo that the lid has broken. I didn't even get round to decorating that tin either. It's criminal I think.

Off for a nosey now. Oh and Carmen, I'm afraid you'll have to wait till next week to see the state of my desk. I'm wondering how messy yours is after having it for a week!!

Bubbly Scrumptious Weekly Challenge

This week's challenge on ~{Bubbly Scrumptious}~ has the title 'Physical Culture', which confused me no end. Karen then informed me its anything sporty or exercise related. Well, to me, exercise involves walking to the kitchen, but I didn't think that was good enough!! So I had a look through some images I have saved and found this pretty ballet one that I got from June at ~{Art Freebies}~. If you haven't had a look yet, get over there as she has a large collection of gorgeousness and you are bound to find something.

I have used Bazzill card, lace and prima flowers with buttons to add some accents.

It'd be great if you wanted to join in with this challenge. It's really not as difficult as it sounds.

SCD black and white inchies

I've been getting the DT's this week as I didn't bring any papercrafting bits with me to Lynne's. I just wasn't expecting to do any, but when I saw the SCD theme for this week, I wished I had.

However, it did give me a fantastic excuse to go through Lucy's craft stash for a change, as I knew she'd have a few bits for this. And she did. How do I know? Well I donated some of it from my stash (I've actually wondered this afternoon just why did I give some of it away)!

So, while Lynne, Andy and Rach were out, Lucy and I set about making some black and white inchies.

We decided to use a few bits from the newspaper for some of them. What do you think caught Lucy's eye here and make her giggle?

So here are Lucy's inchies - some stamped, some doodled and just a little bit of colour that I'm sure will be forgiven as she does have plenty of just black and white.

Here are mine - 3 stamped (don't you love that Totoro stamp?) and one with doodled flowers.

We had a lovely afternoon and got inky fingers, which I think is the law when you craft with your niece. Sadly, the panda that was cut from the paper met with a slightly inky end and had to be humanely destroyed.

B'day card and gift wallet

It's one of my oldest friends son's birthday today. I can't believe he's 13 already! So it had to be something suitable for a teenager. I decided on the Stampotique Smile stamp as this is another of my current faves. I know that Emel (his mum) will like this style too.

I have no idea what the patterned paper is as I'm still at Lynne's, the rest of the card is Bazzill and I've coloured them with copics.

No bunny photos today as I'm soooooo sleepy today. I had an unexpected visit to Ikea on Wednesday, which was lovely, even though the bits I wanted to get where sold out. Of course I managed to find something to spend my pennies on. I'm still recovering from the excitement!!

Bubbly Scrumptious

This week for the Bubbly Scrumptious Blog (link on the left), I've made another card and gift tag with the Halloween Card Kit. Only this isn't for Halloween. I love the colour combo in the kit and think it makes a dramatic project. The gothic paper is by far my fave out of the pack.

And, seeing as I've come up to Lynne's for a week or two I thought I'd throw in a gratuitous bunny photo. Mopsy was looking pretty cute today now she's stopped moulting and she was being friendly too. I've missed her. Oh and it's good to see the girls too!!!

Silhouette

The weekly challenge launched today on ~{Bubbly Scrumptious Challenge Blog}~ is to use a silhouette on a project. I'm actually up to date with DT stuff at the mo as I'm going to stay at Lynne's again for a couple of weeks next week. It feels pretty good I must say, it's not something that happens often!! Dad's going to decorate my bedroom while I'm away. I've been using the built in drawers that were in the flat when I bought it, but they are really crap, so I've got a new set. It doesn't take much to make me happy!

Anyhoo onto the card.

I was having a look through an image site for inspiration and loved the sunset effect on a silhouette, so I made this card:

I've used Distress Inks to colour some white card and stamped this Penny Black stamp onto it. The stamp is actually a Christmas one as it has Joyeux Noel on it, so I just didn't ink that bit. I don't think I will actually use it for Christmas at all.

The chipboard is a Maya Road swirl. I just felt it needed a little something extra.

DCM - Autumnal Purple

I haven't been able to get on with the piece of chippie I'm playing with today as I added a big thick dollop (don't you just love that word) of glossy accents and it's refusing to dry. Instead, I treated myself to a challenge. The DCM is to use purple on your card. Easy peasy for me then as I love purple.

I went for Christmas again as every one counts. I'm not sure what the paper is, but the tree is a Paperartsy stamp that I've embossed in white and I embossed the greeting too then finished off with a chippie snowflake that I had already made.

I think I only have about 65 more to make now!

Non-smudgey canvas

The canvas has gone onto the ~{Tando-Creative Blog}~ this morning, so I can show you now.

The tree is the lastest piece of chipboard that I have been playing with and I've painted it with acrylic paint, then doodled around it.
The canvas itself is 5 x 5 inches and I sprayed that heavily with glimmer mist, then brushed it out to cover it completely so that it has a sheen to it, but no spray marks. Then I very lightly stamped some of Tim's stamps over the front and normal stamped the Paperartsy stamp on the sides and inked the edge.
The circles are punched from BG Euphoria, doodled and scuffed then stuck on with gems attached and a quote.

I'm keeping it for me!! (Sorry Karen)!! xxx

smudging

After the comments I thought I ought to say I really am not smart with this smudging malarky. I use Photoshop LE and it has a little smudge button you click and move the mouse curser while holding down the left click on the bit you want to smudge.

I've had a look on paint, but I can't see a smudge button, but I guess you could use the eraser and d the same thing.

See not clever at all!!!

Wow is it Wednesday already? Where has that week gone?

Well this week my desk is quite tidy as I've just finished the canvas I was working on when I took this photo. I haven't started anything else yet, although I do know it'll be a challenge card.

I've blurred the front of the canvas as it hasn't been published on the Tando blog yet, so I'll come back and blog it when it does. This was going to be a Christmas pressie, but I've decided to keep it for myself.

By the way, that paperweight doesn't glow in real life, although it'd be fab if it did, it's got reflective bits in it that catches the flash.

I'm off to have a look around the other desks now. I love being nosey like this!!!

What I've been up to.

I've not been joining in with challenges lately as I've been doing a few very exciting projects for my friend Di and her husband as they have started their own business ~{Tando-Creative}~. It's a laser cutting and engraving service for the craft industry and they have started off with some gorgeous chipboard pieces.

I was surprised, but excited when Di asked if I'd do some Design Team bits for her. To start with, it was a bit tricky as I was still doing Rosie-Dee's DT, but I finished that stint in September and I've been able to do Di's.

Now before I go on, and I really hate the fact that I have to do this, I must point out that I am not being paid, I do this for my love of crafting and would have been making these things anyway, just with different chipboard had Di's new business not come along! It is my hobby and it keeps me sane amongst the madness of life with ME. If you are wondering why I'm highlighting this, then read ~{this post}~

Right now that's over let's have a look at some of what I've been doing:

This is a lovely plaque with a scroll attached to it that I've painted and embossed with black glitter embossing powder. I think the paper is Autumn Leaves.

This is a lovely leaf sprig with engraving that really makes it stunning. All I did for this was spray it with Glimmer Mist, it didn't need anything else. I liked it so much that I bought some more once the business was up and running!

These next two cards are made from just one piece of chipboard.

I've very carefully removed the inner stem. I did this with a scalpel and it wasn't difficult. You can leave it in place if you wanted to. The top one is Glimmer misted and the one below was Glimmer Misted, then I painted it with Rock Candy distress paint and once dry, rubbed a bit of peeled paint distress ink into the cracks. (I've still got the green finger to prove it as I did this today)! I did this one simple so that the texture is the focus.

And finally, this gorgeous star. How pretty is this? This is Glimmer misted, glossy accented and glittered and is going on my tree in December!

I've made some other things but I'm not blogging them as they are for Christmas pressies (yes I've started already, but I have to). World Cardmaking Day

It's world cardmaking day today and over on Bubblyfunk Forum, we're having a cyber crop. Considering we only decided to do it a couple of weeks ago, there are loads of projects to attempt, not all of them cardmaking.

My contribution was to provide a sketch to work from, but blogger won't let me upload it for some reason. Here's the card I made:

The papers are Autumn Leaves from a couple of years ago and the girl stamp is by Personal Impressions. The greeting is from Cuddly Bubbly as a freebie because I had to wait for a new delivery of something I'd ordered. Bargain!! Everything that needed it has been coloured with Copics, which I am finally getting to grips with.

Yep, it's Wednesday again and so it's time to show the desk (I love this opportunity to have a good old nosey around everyone's stuff).

It's tidier this week, although it seems hard to believe! I'm playing with the Halloween kit again from the previous post, so it's all oranges and reds with a bit of black added by me.

Can you see the lovely card on the desk? Thanks Julia, the wipes came and I've got unsticky scissors again whoo and thank you. And I didn't cut my fingers, although I've done it too in the past.

I really should have put the apple core in the bin shouldn't I? I'm such a mucky minnie at times.

The snowflakes haven't moved since last week either, apart from being shoved aside when I used the printer. I need more white paint and am waiting until tomorrow when the new kit goes on sale on Bubblyfunk.

Am off to go and poke my nose into the others desks now. xxx

Halloween Invites

I don't normally do Halloween at all. I'm a right misery who sits inside and doesn't open the door (although some little herbert looked through the gap in my blind and freaked me out one year with his mask), but I really enjoyed making these invites for my project on the ~{Bubbly Scrumptious Blog}~. I also got to use 2 of my fave Daniel Torrente stamps. *whispers* I finally found the Prom Queen stamp of his in stock last night, so I've treated myself for an early b'day pressie! Something a little different.

Not to be confused with something completely different - the blog.

I thought I'd blog something I've been working on this week. Felted crochet pots. I'm liking crochet as it's relatively quick and doing pots like this only involves the one stitch so less chance of cocking up! The felting doesn't show up that clearly in the photo and next time I do some I'll put the temperature higher on the washing machine. I stuck them in with my jeans so didn't want to shrink them!

I think I might add a few embellishments on the next set and give them away as pressies.

In the absence of anything completed that I can show you, I'll show you What's on my Workspace seeing as it's Wednesday! It's Kathy's fault for drawing this to my attention, and because I am a nosey Rosie I like to see other people's craftspace.

The black card and bits is the start of next Tuesday's BS project that I finished today, when really I should have been starting something for my last Rosie-Dee DT project. That 3 months has gone quickly!

I've got a load of chippie snowflakes drying on the printer as I'm trying to get all the embellishments done for the Christmas cards and those are easy do-a-bit-rest-a-bit projects.

The blue scissors have sat on my desk for the last 3 weeks since I stuck all the unmounted stamps onto EZmount and got so covered in sticky goo that I'm having to build myself up to cleaning them. Sticky stuff remover makes my head funny. Ok funnier.

I'm off to publish this and have a peek at other people's stuff now. Bliss xx.
