Everything is great! His pressure is normal (14-15), his retina and cornea look great, his following is more advanced than expected for 6 weeks... so a sigh of relief was let out by us all today. =) Yay!

Other than that, not much else going on this week. Video of Wyatt playing on his activity mat (thanks grandpa) is up on my flickr site. We've been hanging out in the air conditioning lately- it hit 102 this weekend, today was nice and cool, just windows and fans today. But it's supposed to be hot again this coming weekend- good thing my hubby rules and got an uberFan and a/c for us. heh.

more later
wyWynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7864270750949703824.post-21020404757018824342008-06-20T22:09:00.001-07:002008-06-20T22:09:41.781-07:00new pics up... on his flickr siteWynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7864270750949703824.post-2078765666644709742008-06-19T10:05:00.000-07:002008-06-19T10:12:46.754-07:00mom visit.... 06.08My mom visited Sunny Sandy Eggo this last week. Wyatt had his first bath last night, it was too cool in the bathroom so he wasn't happy but once he got into the towel and on the bed, he was ok. He's sleeping a little longer of chunks, especially one or two at night (2-3 hours, woohoo!). Of course, I've regressed to getting stuff done mode and am wasting those large chunks and only getting 1-1.5 hours of that... still, it's something.

Pics on the flickr site. Video to follow soon.... It started wearing on me a bit so now I'm napping when he naps... except now- I'm eating and typing and gonna maybe jump in the shower for 3 minutes if he's still asleep. I get half an hour to an hour at a time usually- the occasional 2 hour stints are nice but I think I've had 3 of those total.

HE EATS! Like, a lot!!! He nurses every hour or so, sometimes for 1.5 hours at a time- sometimes for 10 minutes and back to sleep but then he'll get up in less than an hour later wanting more. It's great, it really is that I've been able to nurse him and watch him grow (so weird) just this last two weeks.

Dad dropped the pooch off today. Fender usually has a 2 day downtime when returning from puppy condo (my dad's place). It's recovery from playing in a big yard with two bitches and getting treats (human food). He's doing well so far, napping out on his pillow after sniffing at Wyatt a minute. So far, so good.

Next doc appt is the 12th, will update before then for sure. He went in for his 1 week checkup on the 17th, he'd already gained back his birth weight and was 7lbs 2oz, Doc said everything looked fine and keep doing what we're doing...right on!

Wy is holding up well, we're both just tired, her more than I since she cheats and lets me sleep a bit more. Not a whole lot I can do on the feeding side of things, but I'm the pick up and put down guy, and on the hook to fetch and gather, which is fine.

San Diego does this thing with first parents, where they send a nurse out to check on you, and answer any questions you may have. Its funded from cigarette taxes, so I guess we paid for it over the years. (Yes, we're still not smoking, though I'll the occasional cigar, like I did today...but even that is wearing pretty thin). She came out this morning, and he's now 7lbs 4oz's, so he's still eating (and pooping!) fine. Wy and Wyatt are over at Cim's place currently, Cim's husband is in the Navy and is out on the Reagan carrier for the next 6 months, so they're doing some hanging out there. And I'm catching up on work mail and cleaning a bit.

More updates soon, and yes yes, more pics will be taken :)

ttoddlerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06971927591040415690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7864270750949703824.post-60466219342822201412008-05-10T10:51:00.000-07:002008-05-10T11:28:56.152-07:00Wyatt Emery born 5/10/2008, 7:31 am PST<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_7CRpQsZyfXc/SCXpOf7HyDI/AAAAAAAAANQ/bkC6ir83BBw/s320/photo.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5198817780166019122" />
Those of you that know Wyoming know that she is early for everything...and giving birth is no different. Wyatt was 'officially' due on 5/17....

Had an early evening friday night. Grabbed food from On The Border on our way back from Best Buy, picked up a new washer and dryer since our old ones were not long for the world of the working. My copy of Disney's Alladin came on thursday, so we figured we'd hang out, watch a movie, and she would go to bed early while I played video games. Which is exactly what happened. She went to bed around 10:30, and stayed up enough to watch Letterman, I blew people up online. My whole week has been super wonky with work, schedule wise, so I finally got to bed at ~2:30. At 3 she got me up, didn't feel exactly 100%. I'll spare you the details, but suffice it to say she was NOT having a good time. Told her to call the oncall doc and Cimbria. I started putting everything together (ran the dog, got all the bags together, etc). Oncall doc called back at, literally, the same time Wy started vomiting...fun for the whole family! Oncall said to come in. Cim picked us up, we made it to the hospital around 5, up and setup in the room by ~5:30. They start checking her out and she's already at 7cm! 2 hours of hard labor and pushing, one final olympic push, and Wyatt is with us.

Mom and baby are fine, Wy has some complications that they are working on, but is mostly tired. I'm completely fried as well. I'm back at the house for an hour or so, trying to get my eyes working (I was sans eyes for all of the labor and birth, but was able to put them back in around 8).

Think they'll be in the hospital a couple of days, but still working out the details there. Will update when I have more, and will get some of the pics and vids moved over.

Quick snap from my phone:toddlerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06971927591040415690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7864270750949703824.post-45692131908820615002008-05-09T15:26:00.000-07:002008-05-09T15:30:16.050-07:00quick updateBaby: mucus plug is gone, contractions on and off.... then I'm back to where I was and no sign of anything to come. In no particular order

work
work
work

To say I've been busy at the office is such an astonishing understatement as to be insulting to understatements everywhere. Its non stop, all hours, all the bloody time. They're in for a rude awakening once Jr. decides he really wants out, though. I've warned my boss a couple of times now, and I think he gets it...but I don't think he gets it. Will be a fun few months at least.

What else, let's see. Not sure if Wy mentioned or not, but my friend Scott came out from the Big O for a few days, he just got back from Iraq again, so we hung out at the house and got all maudlin and grilled an egregious amount of meat. (And killed almost 2 cases of corona, not bad for 3 days...).

Dad and Pat were in town a few days this week, leaving later today(friday), heading to Irvine to hang with some of Dad's Mini Cooper friends(Its like a gang, but we had dinner with some of them this evening and they are _VERY_ nice). They were down dropping my little sister's Jeep off, since she's going to grad school in Hawaii. She and Jeff are the over achievers in the family, I weep for Tim and I :).

Wy seems to be doing fairly well, holding up as it were. Aches and pains and whatnot, which is to be expected. I suppose I'm doing fairly well as well, equal parts excited and freaked out. All of the standard questions. All of the standard 'fears'. Some examples:

1. Will I be a good parent?
2. How do I get this thing to stop crying?
3. Is there a return policy?
4. Who's toy budget is larger, Wyatt's or mine?
5. Can I get a pacifier too?

etc. I'll leave as an exercise for the reader which of those questions is real...:)

More in a day or so, I need sleep.toddlerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06971927591040415690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7864270750949703824.post-72650162994515267562008-05-07T13:57:00.000-07:002008-05-07T14:15:44.873-07:00Dr. Guru says.... any day or 5/19....2 cm now.... head still down, bp was 122/78 but it was a bit high for me b/c dr. had us waiting for 30 minutes past our appt. and i was just antsy. she was stoked about the 'you're measuring a good 2cm' though so that's promising i guess, better than a bad 2 cm. so some progress...

she brought up the fact that she may have to induce if labor doesn't go quickly enough b/c i'm going to need antibiotics in my iv to fight a strep b bacteria (fairly normal ~30% of moms get and they want the kid out quick in that case)- that doesn't make me happy (the induction part) b/c i've pretty much heard that if they start the pitocin, i may as well get the epidural b/c the strength of the contractions will kill me plus the whole bp meds in the iv b/c of the pitocin so more meds.... so that doesn't make me happy but if it's necessary, i guess we just gotta do it.

we'll see how goes....

Wynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7864270750949703824.post-87841030767172914882008-05-06T13:41:00.000-07:002008-05-06T14:35:44.377-07:00unemployment and 38+ weeksOk, so since I was only working part-time, it's not that different-- but it is... plus today is rainy, perfect day to lounge about and not do anything but I know I will. I am definitely moving slower, he's riding lower but there's still stuff to do on my list of stuff to get done. Funny how that works, all the stuff I never had time to do, now I do but I can't move as quickly and efficiently as I used to- kinda frustrating- it's still getting done, just not as quickly as I'd like. T and I cleaned out the laundry room (our mini-garage) Sunday- we got rid of for sale signs and other junk that's been accumulating the last couple of years. I got to vacuum all the little cracks I've been missing lately around the house yesterday, polish the floors, grocery shopping and did some more laundry.... stuff like that.

Doc appointment tomorrow see if junior is on the move or not... I'm feeling the weight, for sure- especially in my upper ab muscles and hips. Bags are packed; T's got snacks and change of clothes, I got my stuff for the most part (maybe like 90%). Car seat is in- thanks Keith. Now, I'm just eating and sleeping as often as possible waiting for the time he's ready. Dad's gonna watch the dog whenever the time comes.

T's Dad and Stepmom are coming into town tomorrow afternoon so that should be fun, figure out something good to grill and hang out some... looking forward to the next few days with them in town. Cim and family are up at Disneyland for the next few days then we're going to Tapas Picasso on Saturday for Mother's day- yummy! Let me try to explain how I'm feeling when this change is happening...

It comes on slowly but suddenly at the same time, mostly to the area between my belly button and my hairline (no, I haven't seen it in months- I'm being general). Lasting roughly 20 seconds, it slows me down- not doubled over by any means but it feels as if somebody or something is holding on for dear life- the way your hands feel after riding a particularly exhilarating roller coaster and your hands have clenched the bar for the last 90 seconds out of shear thrill... kinda like that blood rushing back feeling mixed with a slight cramp mixed with the slightest ache- like a muscle spasm ache. I know it doesn't make sense but it's kinda difficult to explain the exact feeling. All I know is he's now kicking/punching/moving a lot lower than he was before Wednesday and all of these with increased (about 10 minutes out of every 1/2 hour to an hour sometimes) moving and hiccups have contributed to me not getting more than 3-4 hours of sleep at a time... more like 2 last night- he just moves all the freakin' time- I guess b/c he can- if there's enough room in there for him to.

Gonna see the doc on Monday, curious if they still say the 19th or not.... Place your bets here.... I say more like the 10-14th. We'll see though, eh?
Wynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7864270750949703824.post-52324463121939427472008-04-18T23:29:00.001-07:002008-04-18T23:49:29.463-07:00Another Shower!!! Wow!!Tonight, T and I had a surprise baby shower thrown by the Omaha crew (Cindy, Kathy & Marge). They had a party last weekend, had everyone bring their presents unwrapped, photographed the ladies who then wrote notes to us and the baby, put together a book as if we were there, they all wrapped the gifts then we received everything today in 5 boxes- the UPS guy was funny- backed in so he wouldn't have to make as long of trips to our door.

Everything is so overwhelming- so freakin' cute!!!! We got tons of well wishes and the memory book was great! Cindy also sent along some cookies and taffy, yummy! Giftwise, we got onesies, blankets, pacifiers, robes, stuffed animals (one that plays sounds like rain/whales/heartbeat in utero!!!), socks, bibs, bath stuff, books, washcloths, a nightlight, rubber duckies, a cart coozie!, crib skirt, crib sheet, more blankets (love them!!), larger clothes/outfits for later on (which is great, we have tons of 0-3 mo now), gift cards/coupons and texture toys.... and more I'm sure I'm forgetting things.

Thanks to all of the Omaha ladies for your gracious gifts, we're having a blast going through it all!

We also got a really cool surprise from China- T's brother and his family (Jeff, Celine, Chloe & Jeremy) sent us a Tripp Trapp chair! This is so cool! he can totally grow into it and lasts forever. Thanks guys and Happy Birthday Chloe!!!

We had a great dinner with some friends we hadn't seen in about a year, opened gifts and read cards and now I'm off to write some thank you notes.

Wynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7864270750949703824.post-19509407339444426442008-04-18T10:47:00.000-07:002008-04-18T11:08:32.133-07:00Dr. Guru says.... come back in a week or so.So, we got the follow up ultrasound to check out baby's belly and the 'normal variance' is still there, smaller and they're still not worried about it. Ok. =) He's in the head down, butt in my ribs, legs folded in front of him normal position along my right side (where's he been the majority of the time I've felt him). My weight is the same as two weeks ago and my bp was 110/74, my cervix is nowhere near thinking about being open and he hasn't dropped yet. I guess this means we're still looking at 5.19 or thereabouts as the due date.

I'm 35 weeks and he measured about 36 weeks so pretty average other than having a big belly and possibly big shoulders... I go back in a week or so (the 28th to see a different doc in the same practice- Dr. Gafori). Hopefully we're not way bigger between now and a month from now- no more Taco Bell, hehee =)

Dr. Guru knows we're wanting to try to do this as natural as possible- I have it in my head (yes, it's a hippie granola type head) that an IV with fluids and maybe a mild pain killer in the beginning and only the possibility of an episiotomy is a lot less invasive and pleasing than having the alternative: epidural in my back, a cathader up my urethra, a monitor up my cooch and an IV administering Pitocin/BP meds/other things that I'll be so doped up I won't know about, longer labor b/c of these things, definite episiotomy b/c i can't feel to push or end up getting a C-section..... not to mention the recovery time of major surgery.... yeah, option A, although more painful is much more appealing to me.

More later- vote on a middle name>>>>

Wynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7864270750949703824.post-15419751540064758662008-04-17T13:52:00.000-07:002008-04-17T13:56:23.052-07:00Middile name(s)Realized that I should put up some text to go with the poll, mostly for people to comment against. So, there, to the right, is a new poll for middle names. Some have asked about abbadon: in some cultures, traditionally children are named for/after things that the parents hope the child avoids in life. The example that comes to mind is Marid (disease) in Arab countries. My googlefoo is weak today, but I'll edit in more examples as I have time. Anywho, Abbadon means 'destroyer', and a few other things. Read the wiki for it....

Comment as you like, cause you all know you want to!toddlerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06971927591040415690noreply@blogger.com
