I'm sure it made a difference getting the proper message out there. In the case of Amendment 48, the public needed to know with crystal clarity what was at stake, and you did that. Thank you.mtnrunner2http://www.blogger.com/profile/10974435572236740294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833197911239614195.post-66303773947167362592008-11-06T06:20:00.000-07:002008-11-06T06:20:00.000-07:00I agree with Mr. Armstrong's analysis of the Repub...I agree with Mr. Armstrong's analysis of the Republican's losses. His statement that "Democrats in Colorado have not won their races; Republicans have lost theirs." This is true across the nation. The Religious Right was slapped down. Americans see the danger of trying to insert religion into politics.
Sincerely,
Sylvia Bokor
Albuquerque, NMAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833197911239614195.post-88244001129523485382008-11-05T17:41:00.000-07:002008-11-05T17:41:00.000-07:00I was not positing faith-based politics as the sol...I was not positing faith-based politics as the sole reason the Republicans lost, as you'd know if you'd read my other commentary on the election. It was an important reason, though.Arihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17740793237376032860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833197911239614195.post-23708364459011217992008-11-05T17:38:00.000-07:002008-11-05T17:38:00.000-07:00I find such one-issue arguments hard to accept. The Republicans jumped on the anti-industrial revolution bandwagon: environmentalism. The Republicans failed to support property rights: no significant outcry against imminent domain. The Republicans cry of "drill, baby, drill" amounted to no legislation allowing for the development of oil or nuclear fuels. The Republicans have an on-going, never-ending war in progress, reminiscent of the Vietnam War. I could go on.

I do not see a demonstration that the religious issue was the cause of the Republican loss.

PaulAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
