Sorry everyone, my internet is down and I have no idea when it will be back again. I am missing seeing all of your blogs!
These pictures are from a walk I had with my partner over a week ago at a beach which is a 10 minuites drive away. The little kindergarten I work in started a tradition of holding a summer market last year and we are repeating this again next Saturday. So I have been creative and been making cards at work for sale. The money made from these will go to children's toys and other things that benefit the kindergarten. I do hope they all sell :-)

I have woken up and realised that I have only posted 3 times so far this month. A symptom of a garden that needed working on and I am not finished yet, the weeds have been growing extremely well this year! Oh dear! We have really had a wonderful summery spring so far and the garden is far ahead than normal in it's development. Unfortunately there are heaps of greenfly out there ready to ravage all greenery and not a ladybird in sigh yet.The rape field behind has now gone almost green, I thoroughly enjoyed it while it lasted!Ann Christine Dennisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04469054449893163741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7745339690618552651.post-14049265086510864752008-05-12T19:05:00.009+01:002008-05-12T22:23:31.626+01:00May in DenmarkThis year there seems to be even more rape fields than usual, probably because the farmers are growing them for bio diesel production. I love them! Denmark is not spectacular in it's scenery but gentle, flat in places and in other areas undulating. They are no grand mountains here (I miss 'em) but it is so green, there is lots of coastline and the light is always wonderful near these. This weekend we had a long trip into the countryside and fortunately I took my camera with me, so here are some of the pictures. The first one is at the back of my garden, I am really enjoying this field in all it's moods, the yellow changes colour at different times of day.

I love butterflies and it is so lovely and warm now in Denmark, so they are appearing. It is very much like summer here and today we were walking with the children in the woodlands, eating our lunch there, returning around midday so the children could rest and sleep. We have been in our big garden in the afternoon .... such a lovely way to experience a working day! But we had better enjoying it while it is here, it could well be raining next week :-)Ann Christine Dennisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04469054449893163741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7745339690618552651.post-40465841794146791792008-05-02T22:13:00.003+01:002008-05-02T22:23:15.953+01:00ATC flower<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SBuEm4vjAEI/AAAAAAAAAlc/Xi-CG_QZa8U/s1600-h/atc_flower_comp.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SBuEm4vjAEI/AAAAAAAAAlc/Xi-CG_QZa8U/s400/atc_flower_comp.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5195892398703706178" border="0" /></a>An Artist Trading Card made with watercolour, a rubberstamp, acrylic irridescent paint (Old Holland New Masters),Embossed Fusable webbing, pen, laser cut out, 'Edelmetal paint and a flower stud. I found a beautiful blog yesterday <a href="http://jeffhayesfinearts.blogspot.com/">State Of The Art,</a> Jeff Hayes paints realistic with oils and has some good information about his palette <a href="http://jeffhayesfinearts.blogspot.com/2008/04/my-palette.html">here</a>. He reminded me of the art training I have received here in Denmark and how I gradually over the years gone into different directions, maybe it is time to get back to doing some of this ....
<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SBV98YvjADI/AAAAAAAAAlU/SuK24pVZIxo/s1600-h/Beautiful_womanhood2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SBV98YvjADI/AAAAAAAAAlU/SuK24pVZIxo/s400/Beautiful_womanhood2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5194196221629235250" border="0" /></a>I love doing the cards, the journals, textile art, atc's etc. too and they keep the creative process going in me. I have recently started working with acrylics on canvas again but these paintings are not fully realistic either. Maybe it is time to combine my style now with some of this and see what happen ... let's see :-) Somehow I felt as if I had lost something when I saw Jeff's blog but I also really love abstracts, love mixed media art and love using bright and bold colours! I have been thinking recently that I should be specialising down one lane and you know every time I get that thought another loud NO resonates within me, I guess I am afraid the fun would go out of creating.Ann Christine Dennisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04469054449893163741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7745339690618552651.post-50838278356001660982008-04-25T21:09:00.007+01:002008-04-25T22:07:40.682+01:00Tag journal pages<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SBI7oIvi__I/AAAAAAAAAk0/9nItFtbJu2E/s1600-h/redtags_comp.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SBI7oIvi__I/AAAAAAAAAk0/9nItFtbJu2E/s400/redtags_comp.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5193278881039319026" border="0" /></a>Using watercolour, rubber stamps, embossing, crackling medium, coloured gold leaf, copper paint, coloured pencils.yarns, 'diamond studs', inks, zigzag braid, lace material and relief medium.

On the back of the bottom tag I have written 'Life is an a adventure that I have created'. I realise more and more that my world is created by my positive and negative emotions. When I feel fear and lack, I see this emerging in my life, closure happens and potential is lost. When I feel self assured, clear, following the inner intuitions, then this manifests too in my life. If I was 20 years old now and had the life experience that I have now my life would be very different! These opposites still are prevalent but now I know that I can consciously change my life by working on my beliefs, my fears and by opening up to courage. Please believe me it is so difficult at times and I sink into my restricted fear based mentality and have to drag myself up again! Challenges have a way of appearing out of the blue! At the same time it is so good to know that I can change my life's perspective by changing my feelings and my thoughts and acting upon my inner impulses. What do you do to find courage?Ann Christine Dennisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04469054449893163741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7745339690618552651.post-28443090575259324852008-04-22T21:23:00.007+01:002008-04-22T21:47:06.143+01:00Small cards.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5192168627698335682" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center;" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SA5J24vi_8I/AAAAAAAAAkc/CiH3ON3FajU/s400/lacecard2_comp.jpg" border="0" /><a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SA5KDovi_-I/AAAAAAAAAks/W5gqnK9z9Ew/s1600-h/lacecard1_comp.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5192168846741667810" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center;" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SA5KDovi_-I/AAAAAAAAAks/W5gqnK9z9Ew/s400/lacecard1_comp.jpg" border="0" /></a> These two cards are 10x10cm and I love working on this size! I have used acrylics, pen, inks, rubber stamps, lace and on the card on the top I have embroidered in lurex. I started on this size when one of my contact on Flickr <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/aileenclarke/">AileenClarkeCrafts</a> sent me a card in this size. I was so fascinated but knew that getting envelopes in this size here in Denmark would probably be impossible, so I wrote and asked where she bought them in England and sent off for them together with my friend next door who loved them too.

These are small sketches done with coloured pencils. On the first two I have used punches that I bought while over there and I just couldn't wait to use them! I always seem to enjoy myself in their art and craft shops, using far too much money! Their selection is wonderful and this time I was in a town called Skipton in North England. In this town there are two craft shops and one just outside that has lots and lots of patchwork materials as well. They are such a joy to look around. I am usually only here once a year and it is such a treat.
The wallpaper rubbing is my favourite and it is just that. My Mum has some wallpaper with relief on it and I just couldn't resist experimenting with it. I think I will do more next time.Ann Christine Dennisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04469054449893163741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7745339690618552651.post-75336537384583584672008-04-15T21:38:00.004+01:002008-04-15T21:48:19.024+01:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SAUSfHILu4I/AAAAAAAAAj0/MbMuKEE5FOk/s1600-h/daisyenergy_comp.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/SAUSfHILu4I/AAAAAAAAAj0/MbMuKEE5FOk/s400/daisyenergy_comp.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189574471312980866" border="0" /></a>This was done while in England visiting Mum at Easter. I have used Prismacolor pencils (my favourite pencils) and a little punch at the bottom. I don't have all that many artist materials over there. I was actually enjoying myself experimenting here. 1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language.<p></p> 2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone. <p></p>3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her/him the award itself.<p></p> 4. The award winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "<a href="http://arteypico.blogspot.com/">Arte y Pico</a>' blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award. 5. I have as usual used different mediums .... watercolour, Twinkling H20's, pen, pearlescent liquid acrylics and crayons.Ann Christine Dennisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04469054449893163741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7745339690618552651.post-54714975660954062712008-04-02T21:49:00.005+01:002008-04-02T22:06:03.089+01:00Some of my favourite photo's<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/R_Pziwrk6UI/AAAAAAAAAhE/QBIDyXLbvmI/s1600-h/bottles2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/R_Pziwrk6UI/AAAAAAAAAhE/QBIDyXLbvmI/s400/bottles2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5184755374542350658" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/R_PziArk6SI/AAAAAAAAAg0/n-MJBZ4lCf0/s1600-h/copper_leaves.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/R_PziArk6SI/AAAAAAAAAg0/n-MJBZ4lCf0/s400/copper_leaves.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5184755361657448738" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/R_Pziwrk6TI/AAAAAAAAAg8/5kxyY6BN3sY/s1600-h/lace.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/R_Pziwrk6TI/AAAAAAAAAg8/5kxyY6BN3sY/s400/lace.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5184755374542350642" border="0" /></a>Taken with my very first digital camera.Ann Christine Dennisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04469054449893163741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7745339690618552651.post-61451258531685619922008-03-29T10:12:00.012+01:002008-03-29T11:20:15.887+01:00Loving waves<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/R-4X2grk6RI/AAAAAAAAAgU/w6a51BSOVLU/s1600-h/lovingwaves_comp2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/R-4X2grk6RI/AAAAAAAAAgU/w6a51BSOVLU/s400/lovingwaves_comp2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5183106446403102994" border="0" /></a>

Acrylic on canvas with Swarovski crystal Rhinestones. I have used Rembrandt Deep Gold paint and pearlescent iridescent paints as well. The canvas size is 20 x 40 cm. I started this painting about 4 years ago and it has just been lying around screaming for attention. I had written it off as a bad picture, which I know by experience is not necessary, especially with acrylic as the medium. Just keep on working on it until you get it right is my motto at times. By the way I made the cut out sponge that I used on the first picture of the post below for this painting.
Here are two detail pictures, the first one shows the rhinestones and on the other one the iridescent paint shows up better.

Believe it or not I have not actually consciously painted parts of these papers but put them behind my paintings in progress and dried off excess paint on them. Why let is go down the drain with the water! On the top picture I used an artificial sponge cut into a shape. I will used these in my art projects like ATC's or cards.

I posted this Spring Mandala on my other blog <a href="http://mandala-art.blogspot.com/">Mandala Art</a> and decided to post it here too because this blog is viewed more. I have used pen, watercolour, gouache, gold and copper paint, Schmincke Acryl Golden Flakes-Gel and Twinkling H20's on cotton paper, with Swarovski crystal Rhinestones. I sent of to England for the rubber stamp of the winged lady a few months ago and like it a lot. It is from Crafty Individuals. The other Lily stamp is from one of my favourite firms Kodomo Inc, they are Japanese Stamps and I love their designs.
I have used Watercolour paints and a punch from Fiskars also.Ann Christine Dennisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04469054449893163741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7745339690618552651.post-54077431905217089292008-03-25T00:10:00.004+01:002008-03-25T00:14:31.853+01:00Red Flowerings<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/R-g1Vwrk6HI/AAAAAAAAAes/QZonZtxTlNA/s1600-h/red_flowerings_comp.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_Hfi9xg1VS7k/R-g1Vwrk6HI/AAAAAAAAAes/QZonZtxTlNA/s400/red_flowerings_comp.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5181450019250956402" border="0" /></a>Watercolour, Pen and Twinkling H2O's on watercolour paper.Ann Christine Dennisonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04469054449893163741noreply@blogger.com
