(AP) — As Barack Obama broadens his outreach to evangelical voters, one of the movement's biggest names, James Dobson, accuses the likely Democratic presidential nominee of distorting the Bible and pushing a "fruitcake interpretation" of the Constitution.

The criticism, to be aired Tuesday on Dobson's Focus on the Family radio program, comes shortly after an Obama aide suggested a meeting at the organization's headquarters here, said Tom Minnery, senior vice president for government and public policy at Focus on the Family.

The conservative Christian group provided The Associated Press with an advance copy of the pre-taped radio segment, which runs 18 minutes and highlights excerpts of a speech Obama gave in June 2006 to the liberal Christian group Call to Renewal. Obama mentions Dobson in the speech.

"Even if we did have only Christians in our midst, if we expelled every non-Christian from the United States of America, whose Christianity would we teach in the schools?" Obama said. "Would we go with James Dobson's or Al Sharpton's?" referring to the civil rights leader.

Dobson took aim at examples Obama cited in asking which Biblical passages should guide public policy — chapters like Leviticus, which Obama said suggests slavery is OK and eating shellfish is an abomination, or Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, "a passage that is so radical that it's doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application."

"Folks haven't been reading their Bibles," Obama said.

Dobson and Minnery accused Obama of wrongly equating Old Testament texts and dietary codes that no longer apply to Jesus' teachings in the New Testament.

"I think he's deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own worldview, his own confused theology," Dobson said.

"... He is dragging biblical understanding through the gutter."

Joshua DuBois, director of religious affairs for Obama's campaign, said in a statement that a full reading of Obama's speech shows he is committed to reaching out to people of faith and standing up for families. "Obama is proud to have the support of millions of Americans of faith and looks forward to working across religious lines to bring our country together," DuBois said.

Dobson reserved some of his harshest criticism for Obama's argument that the religiously motivated must frame debates over issues like abortion not just in their own religion's terms but in arguments accessible to all people.

He said Obama, who supports abortion rights, is trying to govern by the "lowest common denominator of morality," labeling it "a fruitcake interpretation of the Constitution."

"Am I required in a democracy to conform my efforts in the political arena to his bloody notion of what is right with regard to the lives of tiny babies?" Dobson said. "What he's trying to say here is unless everybody agrees, we have no right to fight for what we believe."

The program was paid for by a Focus on the Family affiliate whose donations are taxed, Dobson said, so it's legal for that group to get more involved in politics.

Last week, DuBois, a former Assemblies of God associate minister, called Minnery for what Minnery described as a cordial discussion. He would not go into detail, but said Dubois offered to visit the ministry in August when the Democratic National Convention is in Denver.

A possible Obama visit was not discussed, but Focus is open to one, Minnery said.

McCain also has not met with Dobson. A McCain campaign staffer offered Dobson a meeting with McCain recently in Denver, Minnery said. Dobson declined because he prefers that candidates visit the Focus on the Family campus to learn more about the organization, Minnery said.

Dobson has not backed off his statement that he could not in good conscience vote for McCain because of concerns over the Arizona senator's conservative credentials. Dobson has said he will vote in November but has suggested he might not vote for president.

Obama recently met in Chicago with religious leaders, including conservative evangelicals. His campaign also plans thousands of "American Values House Parties," where participants discuss Obama and religion, as well as a presence on Christian radio and blogs.

SourceAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01111363804849284762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7648842462245607458.post-41183351957167133392008-06-20T15:47:00.000-07:002008-06-20T15:49:03.729-07:00Is there any secret symbolism to the "Obama seal"?<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_1ihUIofCaxs/SFwzvP674qI/AAAAAAAAAOA/3sFTnanERTU/s400/bama1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214099355408786082" />
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. It wasn’t the group that fled Egypt in the Exodus, though. They died in the wilderness, lacking faith in God’s promise. It was the next generation that Joshua led into Canaan. Apparently, if we have enough faith in Obama, he will lead us all into a new America, but if we vote for John McCain, we will demonstrate a lack of faith (in Obama) and die in the political badlands.

Obama is better at biblical language and imagery than any Democrat in modern times. He certainly beats Howard Dean, now the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, who once offered Job as his favorite New Testament book. This is cynical manipulation of the devout and it is no better when Democrats do it than when Republicans use religious language for partisan advantage.

________________________________________

Obama has declared himself a committed Christian. He can call himself anything he likes, but there are certain markers among the evangelicals he is courting that one must meet in order to qualify for that label.

Obama: “I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die. When I tuck in my daughters at night and I feel like I’ve been a good father to them, and I see that I am transferring values that I got from my mother and that they’re kind people and that they’re honest people, and they’re curious people, that’s a little piece of heaven.”
Any first-year seminary student could deconstruct such “works salvation” and wishful thinking. Obama either hasn’t read the Bible, or if he has, doesn’t believe it if he embraces such thin theological wisps.

SourceAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01111363804849284762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7648842462245607458.post-36030244626773786332008-06-14T11:49:00.000-07:002008-06-14T12:11:02.661-07:00Barack Obama's views on Religion and Politics

I will let him speak for himself. He can call himself anything he likes, but there are certain markers among the evangelicals he is courting that one must meet in order to qualify for that label.

Some insight into Obama’s “Christianity” comes from an interview he gave in 2004 to Chicago Sun-Times religion editor Cathleen Falsani for her book, “The God Factor: Inside the Spiritual Lives of Public People.”

>“I’m rooted in the Christian tradition,” said Obama. He then adds something most Christians will see as universalism: “I believe there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.”

Falsani correctly brings up John 14:6 (and how many journalists would know such a verse, much less ask a question based on it?) in which Jesus says of Himself, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” That sounds exclusive, but Obama says it depends on how this verse is heard. According to Falsani, Obama thinks that “all people of faith — Christians, Jews, Muslims, animists, everyone — know the same God.” (Her words.)

Evangelicals and serious Catholics might ask if this is so, why did Jesus waste His time coming to Earth, suffering pain, rejection and crucifixion? If there are many ways to God, He might have sent down a spiritual version of table manners and avoided the rest.

Here’s Obama telling Falsani, “The difficult thing about any religion, including Christianity, is that at some level there is a call to evangelize and proselytize. There’s the belief, certainly in some quarters, that if people haven’t embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior, they’re going to hell.” Falsani adds, “Obama doesn’t believe he, or anyone else, will go to hell. But he’s not sure he’ll be going to heaven, either.” Again, that is contrary to what Evangelicals and most Catholics believe.

Here’s Obama again: “I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die.

Obama can call himself anything he likes, but there is a clear requirement for one to qualify as a Christian and Obama doesn’t meet that requirement. One cannot deny central tenets of the Christian faith, including the deity and uniqueness of Christ as the sole mediator between God and Man and be a Christian. Such people do have a label applied to them in Scripture. They are called “false prophets.”

The ArticleAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01111363804849284762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7648842462245607458.post-86108516881570791062008-06-12T21:04:00.000-07:002008-06-12T21:13:37.980-07:00End of Times... Please counter this argument as much as you want, I am just exploring the idea I have heard people talking about.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01111363804849284762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7648842462245607458.post-85988222973676811572008-06-09T08:52:00.000-07:002008-06-09T09:18:28.436-07:00Obama seen as having "powerful luminosity, a high-vibration integrity"<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_1ihUIofCaxs/SE1T9ZG1mbI/AAAAAAAAAK4/1QxzUn1osfU/s400/LIGHTWORKER.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209912658114222514" />

People seem to go beyond all sanity to praise Barack Obama, they really do seem to see him as a messiah, as supernatural as demonstrated in this article:

"Barack Obama and good vibrations" by
Mark Morford of the San Francisco Chronicle

Friday, June 6, 2008:
Link to story

I find I'm having this weird little debate with colleagues, readers, liberals and moderates and deeply depressed Republicans and spiritually amped people of all stripes and, in particular, with those who seem confused, angry, nonplussed, as they all ask me the same thing: What's the big deal about Obama?

I, of course, have an answer. Sort of. It goes likes this:

Barack Obama ain't really one of us. Not in the normal way, anyway.

This is what I find myself offering up in response to the whiners and to those with broken or sadly dysfunctional karmic antennae, to all those who just don't understand all this chatter about Obama's aura and MLK/JFK-like vibe, and, therefore, even if they're liberals, they're refusing to vote for him because they just aren't feeling that deeper connection or, worse, they actively dislike Obama, believing him to be a slick and dangerous pawn of some sort of sinister machine they can't quite define.

To them I say, all right, you want to know what it is? The appeal, the draw, the ethereal thing that keeps drawing millions of people in from all over the world, that keeps opening up and firing into new channels of the culture normally unaffected by politics? No, it's not merely youthful vigor or handsomeness or even inspiring rhetoric. It is not fresh ideas or cool charisma or the fact that a black president will be historic and revolutionary in about a thousand different ways. It is something more. Even Bill Clinton, with all his effortless, winking charm, didn't have what Obama has, which is a sort of powerful luminosity, a high-vibration integrity.

Dismiss it all you like, but I've heard from far too many smart, spiritually attuned people who've been blown away by Obama's presence - not speeches, not policies, but sheer presence - to say it's just a clever marketing ploy, a slick gambit carefully orchestrated by hotshot campaign organizers who, once Obama gets into office, will suddenly turn from perky optimists to vile, soul-sucking lobbyist whores with Obama as their suddenly evil, cackling overlord.

Here's where it gets gooey. Many spiritually advanced people (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) I know identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of calmly enlightened being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of connecting with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a high order, and they reignite the soul.

The unusual thing is, true Lightworkers almost never appear on such a brutal, spiritually empty stage as national politics. This is why Obama is so rare. And this is why he is so often compared to JFK and Martin Luther King Jr., to those leaders in our culture whose compelling vibrations still resonate throughout our short history.

Are you rolling your eyes and scoffing? Fine by me. But you gotta wonder why the JFK legacy has lasted so long, is so vital to our national identity? Yes, the assassination canonized his legend. The Kennedy family is our version of royalty. But there is something more. Those attuned to energies beyond the shallow, literal meanings of things say JFK wasn't assassinated for any typical reason you can name. It's because he was just this kind of high-vibration being, a peacemaker, at odds with the war machine, the CIA, the dark side. And it killed him.

Now, Obama. The next step. Another try. And perhaps Bush, who laid waste to the land and embarrassed the country and pummeled our national spirit into disenchanted pulp, has helped set the stage for an even larger and more fascinating stage of evolution in which we are finally truly ready for another Lightworker to step up.

I'm not arguing some sort of total revolution, a big happy global group hug with Obama as some sort of happy hippie camp counselor. I'm not saying the man's going to swoop in like a superhero messiah and stop all wars and make the flowers grow and birds sing and solve world hunger and bring puppies to schoolchildren.

I'm certainly not saying he's perfect, that his presidency will be free of compromise or fat-cat insiders or a great ugly heaps of politics as usual. While Obama's certainly an entire universe away from George W. Bush in terms of quality, integrity, intelligence and, overall, inspirational energy - well, so is your dog. It isn't hard to stand far above and beyond the worst president in American history.

But there simply is no denying that extra kick. As one reader put it, in a way, it's not even about Obama, per se. There's a vast amount of positive energy that's been held back by the armies of BushCo darkness, and this energy has now found a a lightning rod, and is now effortlessly self-organizing around Obama's candidacy. People and emotions and ideas of high and positive vibration are automatically drawn to him, because it is clear he is of the same material. It's exactly like how Bush was a magnet for the low vibrations of fear and war and oppression and aggression, but, you know, completely reversed. And different. And far, far better.

Think that's all a bunch of tofu-sucking New Age BS and Obama is really a dangerously elitist political salesman whose inexperience will lead us further into darkness because, when you're talking national politics, nothing, really, ever changes? I understand. I get it. I often believe it myself. Not this time.

-- Mark Morford columns with inset links to related material can be found at sfgate.com/columnists/morford.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01111363804849284762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7648842462245607458.post-5965318042039353452008-06-08T23:57:00.000-07:002008-06-09T00:02:54.523-07:00Obama - False Prophet or Anti-Christ? Those that preach “change,” appealing to emotion while standing for ideas anathema to the foundations that established us, are nothing but false messiahs.

Oftentimes such false prophets led entire nations to utter ruin. I discovered infanticide.

Legislation was presented on the federal level and in various states called the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. It stated all live-born babies were guaranteed the same constitutional right to equal protection, whether or not they were wanted.

BAIPA sailed through the U.S. Senate by unanimous vote. Even Sens. Clinton, Kennedy and Kerry agreed a mother's right to "choose" stopped at her baby's delivery.

The bill also passed overwhelmingly in the House. NARAL went neutral on it. Abortion enthusiasts publicly agreed that fighting BAIPA would appear extreme. President Bush signed BAIPA into law in 2002.

But in Illinois, the state version of BAIPA repeatedly failed, thanks in large part to then-state Sen. Barack Obama. It only passed in 2005, after Obama left.

I testified in 2001 and 2002 before a committee of which Obama was a member.

Obama articulately worried that legislation protecting live aborted babies might infringe on women's rights or abortionists' rights. Obama's clinical discourse, his lack of mercy, shocked me. I was naive back then. Obama voted against the measure, twice. It ultimately failed.

In 2003, as chairman of the next Senate committee to which BAIPA was sent, Obama stopped it from even getting a hearing, shelving it to die much like babies were still being shelved to die in Illinois hospitals and abortion clinics.

(As chair of that same committee, Obama once abruptly ended a hearing early, right before Scott and Janet Willis, the parents of six children killed as a result of Illinois' drivers licenses for bribes scandal, were to testify in favor of Choose Life license plate legislation. I was there for that one, too. The Willises had traveled three hours. Reporters filled the room. Obama stalled. He later killed the bill when no one was around.)

So, the reason Keyes said Jesus Christ wouldn't vote for Barack Obama was because of Obama's fanatical support of abortion to the point of condoning infanticide.

I have framed on my wall a Chicago Sun-Times cartoon published during the campaign. Obama is holding a sign with "LIVE BIRTH ABORTION" on it. God is reaching down from heaven to a baby in front of Obama, and the baby is reaching up to God. Obama is yelling at God, "You keep out of this!"

In his USA Today opinion piece, Obama admitted being "nagged" by the Jesus-wouldn't-vote-for-him statement, but only because he wished he'd given a different comeback.

Obama insinuated opposition to abortion is based only on religion, lecturing pro-lifers like me to "explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths, including those with no faith at all."

I don't recall mentioning religion when I testified against live-birth abortion. I only recall describing a live aborted baby I held in a hospital soiled utility room until he died, and a live aborted baby who was accidentally thrown into the trash.

Neither do I recall religion being brought into the partial-birth abortion ban debate. I recall comparisons made to U.S. laws ensuring animals being killed are treated humanely. I recall testimony that late-term babies feel excruciating pain while being aborted.

Obama stated pro-life proposals must be "amenable to reason."

OK, Sen. Obama, let's reason. Explain why you support abortion for whatever rationale, at whatever gestation, by whatever means. Explain why you support infanticide, if banning it might interfere with abortion.

Then, since you brought it up, explain how, despite all that, you think Jesus should vote for you, either now or in the hereafter, particularly given His statement, "It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around the neck than to face the punishment in store for harming one of these little ones

WorldNetDaily

A Story today about a baby that survived an attempted abortionAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01111363804849284762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7648842462245607458.post-66167751450651892342008-06-03T20:47:00.000-07:002008-06-03T20:55:25.404-07:00Do you really know Obama, and the CHANGE he is bringing?<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_1ihUIofCaxs/SEYRCmoqsmI/AAAAAAAAAJA/tBPd0LYbTEs/s320/aclu1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207868755529085538" />

Below is a well written piece about the Obama fan phenomenon, and the new challenge for today: Read this article, and provide as much substance about what Obama has done, and intends to do. Please counter the arguments as well.

"I know this has nothing to do with the ACLU, but it has to be said.

Try speaking to a supporter of Barack Hussein Obama and ask them the following questions;

What does Barack, specifically, propose to change in this country and how is he going to change it?

What will be the results of the changes he enacts?

How does his message give you hope?

Are you insane?

Them: “He wants to bring us all together and change how the government works.”
Me: “Yes but HOW does he want to change it?”
Them: “Well, he wants to make it work better.”
Me: “Do you think things are more efficient when they are larger or smaller?”
Them: “Smaller.”
Me: “Do you think the government has shown that it works better when it is larger or smaller?”
Them: “Smaller.”
Me: “And Barack wants to make it bigger. How is that going to make government more efficient?”

At this point they usually give me a glare and storm away!

What they won’t (or can’t) admit is Barack’s plans are simply tax and spend, with heavier regulations on virtually every industry, causing prices and unemployment to rise and wages to fall.

As it stands I defy you to show me one thing outside of bearing a child that the government does not regulate in some way. Try to start any business, any business at all, and there are government agencies left and right that you must deal with, from the local to the federal level, everything is regulated by some bureaucrat in some way. Barack’s plans will make the regulations of today seem simple, possibly almost quaint, and we will be pining for the days when starting a business only took a huge effort, and not one of Herculean proportions.

The countless pictures of Barack supporters with moon-eyed adoration are indicative of people mindlessly enthralled with a personality. Add in the images of Barack with his hand held up in the midst of one of his Old Time Revival Style Speeches, backlit by a light creating a halo effect and one can certainly draw the conclusion that many people are looking to Barack as a savior of sorts, a man promising salvation if we’d only believe in him and his nebulous plans of Change and Hope.

Now, I am not calling Barack Hussein Obama the Anti-Christ, but only because in our world of sound bites, bumper sticker politics and thirty second attention spans the words “Anti-Christ” carries connotations that are unpalatable and mean spirited. Classically the Anti-Christ is one who is in place of Christ, and given the well known distaste the American Left has for Organized Religion (especially Christianity), the leap to Anti-Christ status for Obama would not be a hard one to make if one is prone to making leaps of logic, which of course, I am not.

I prefer a slow stroll down Logic Lane, as opposed to bounding from one issue to another. Not The Left it seems, whose phenomenal leaps of faith and bounds of logic simply ignore Barack’s voting record, lack of experience and outrageous promises to bring them everything from “free” healthcare to billions in new programs without ever taking the small step of asking “How will you pay for it?” when Barack says “I will give this to you.” When most right thinking people I know hear “I will” they ask “How much?”

Barack’s plans so far have a price tag almost to the trillion dollar range, with an energy policy plan priced at $150 billion, a $60 billion dollar National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank (whatever THAT is-I think “reinvestment” is code for tax and spend) a health care plan at 65 billion a year, with all of this and more brought to you by ending the Iraq war, cutting corporate tax breaks and higher taxes on the rich.

When corporations lose their tax breaks they pass along the cost to us, then scale back, cut jobs and salaries and try to recoup losses by being leaner and more efficient. When corporations do this we all lose. The trickle down effect begins with the checkout girl who is first to lose her job, continues with layoffs in related industries when companies receive fewer orders for their goods and services coupled with higher costs which eventually may spiral out of control into a depression.

The people that do not understand a healthy free market must be left alone as much as possible are the very same people that are blindly following Obama.

So why the blindness? Can it be that Americans are now so disgusted with the government that any huckster with a glib tongue and empty promises can grab their attention?

Can it be that thirty plus years of leftist education policy is coming home to roost (to use the hottest phrase of the season) and that Americans are no longer intelligent enough to understand Obama’s policies are heavily socialist and will lead us down a road that has failed everywhere it has been tried?

Could it be that so many Americans have simply become socialists or bought into the lie that government is there to take care of us?

Is it possible that so many Americans have bought into the multiculturalism that the left has shoved down our throats for the last thirty years?

Whatever the reason for the blind faith so many people seem to have regarding Barack and his rhetoric of Change and Hope the fact remains that this movement is akin to a cult. Blind allegiance to nebulous promises and devotion to a magnetic personality who is all set to lead us, unquestioned and highly praised, into a socialist utopia is certain to destroy the last vestiges of freedom we possess

Link To ArticleAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01111363804849284762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7648842462245607458.post-17497439746184519372008-06-03T18:23:00.000-07:002008-06-03T18:27:40.547-07:00Obama is the Nominee!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_1ihUIofCaxs/SEXuwuPpYGI/AAAAAAAAAI4/OA8iCzDsdJY/s320/bama.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207831064938635362" />

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Barack Obama will claim the Democratic presidential nomination on Tuesday after winning the support of a wave of uncommitted delegates and pushing rival Hillary Clinton to the verge of defeat.

A day-long parade of delegates flocked to Obama, putting him just shy of the 2,118 delegates he needs to become the first black to lead a major U.S. political party in a campaign for the White House.

The Illinois senator is certain to cross the threshold later on Tuesday night after polls close in the final two nominating contests in Montana and South Dakota, which have 31 delegates at stake.

He will be crowned the nominee at the August nominating convention in Denver and will face Republican John McCain in November's election to choose a successor to President George W. I want to make it very clear I do not, let me repeat do not think Obama should be assasinated. I think Obama is a very exciting and popular candidate. Hopefully he is the real deal. The reason I made this blog is because I have had a nagging feeling since 4 years ago that he would be the antichrist. I don't really agree with him on abortion, but I hope for a nationalized healthcare system. Basically I hope if he is elected he brings about positive change, and him being black has nothing to do with this blog. This is the largest crowd he has ever gathered, it is in Portland Oregon. I do not claim to be an expert on the subject of Obama as Antichrist, I am merely someone who has had a feeling he was since his keynote speech at the DNC four years ago, based on generalizations of the fact that the Antichrist would be charismatic, rise up, followed by the masses etc. Obviously there are a lot of charismatic leaders, (here comes the whole "everyone thought such and such was the antichrist... like Ronald Regan.. etc" speech). What is different about Obama is hard to quantify, but clearly with the responses I have been getting from this blog there are a lot of people who have read the Bible, and feel the same way. This blog is not a place for me to express my great "wisdom", I am just creating a place for people to read that other people share this view. Please comment, no matter what side of this issue you are on. Critique me as much as you like, share your own facts and figures, tell me I am crazy, that is fine. Specifically, Kincaid’s group wants a major news organization to follow up on the investigative work it has done that documents that an elderly black man who mentored Sen. Obama in Hawaii was a lifelong member of the Communist Party USA. Kincaid also would like to see a serious journalistic vetting of Sen. Obama’s relationship with the left-wing radicals in Chicago -- Bill Ayers and others -- who helped Obama launch his political career. I called Kincaid -- whose challenge to the media has yet to be accepted -- on Wednesday, June 4, at his home in southern Maryland.

Q: Can you briefly sum up what you have discovered about Obama’s ideological influences that you say need to be checked out by Big Media?
A: We think all the major candidates should be examined for their ties to foreign and hostile elements. In the case of Obama, he has gotten a very, very favorable press. The media seem reluctant to dig into his background, even though he is relatively new on the political scene. What we discovered, in two different places -- first in Hawaii, where he went to high school, and in Chicago, where he started his political career -- is that he is right in the middle of communist networks. In Hawaii, he was mentored by a member of the Communist Party by the name of Frank Marshall Davis. In Chicago, his career was launched and he was close friends with a number of communists and socialists.

Q: What specifically did your investigation find out about Davis, who Obama calls only “Frank” in his memoir “Dreams from My Father”?
A: What was very disturbing to us was the fact that Barack Obama had covered up the true identity of this “Frank” who played such a role in his life just before he went off to college (in the late 1970s). There are several references in his book to this “Frank.” We discovered that “Frank” was indeed Frank Marshall Davis, who was a member of a Soviet-sponsored communist network on the island of Hawaii. We think Obama should be asked to explain why he didn’t reveal Frank’s true identity in his book. We looked into this and had confirmed by several sources that Frank was indeed Frank Marshall Davis, and that he had a considerable influence on Obama. But we cannot really get a rational explanation of why Obama would cover up the identity of this Stalinist agent.

Q: How do you know for sure Davis was a member of the Communist Party USA?
A: We have several different sources confirming that Frank Marshall Davis was a Communist Party member. We have congressional hearings and investigations. Plus we have those who have written about Davis, including John Edgar Tidwell, who wrote a whole book -- a sympathetic book -- about Davis but discussed his membership in the Communist Party. Davis of course was asked about this when he was called before a Senate committee, but he took the Fifth Amendment rather than discuss it openly. There’s no question that he was a key member of this Moscow-sponsored communist network in Hawaii.

Q: What was the most subversive or most dangerous-to-America thing Davis ever did?
A: Davis was an unrepentant communist. He stayed with the Communist Party even after the Hitler-Stalin pact. That’s why I refer to him as “a Stalinist agent.” Other prominent black Americans who had gotten into the Communist Party had left it. For example, Langston Hughes and Richard Wright got involved in communist activities but then broke with the Communist Party because it had become an apologist for some horrible crimes not only committed by Stalin but by the Soviet system. Yet Frank Marshall Davis stayed with the party and wrote some infamous poems not only defending the Soviet Union but attacking the United States.

Q: Is there anything to lead you to believe that Davis made a concerted effort to indoctrinate Obama?
A: What we know is that Barack Obama’s grandfather introduced Obama to Frank Marshall Davis because Barack Obama needed someone to look up to. Remember, this was a time when Barack Obama’s black father had abandoned his family. Barack Obama’s grandfather thought that Davis would fulfill the role of male role model and mentor -- and that’s the role that he played.

Q: When Barack Obama got to Chicago he came into contact with '60s radicals William Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn. What is most worrisome about their possible influence on Obama?
A: It really begins even before Obama gets to Chicago because according to his book, when he goes to college -- first Occidental College and later Columbia University -- he picks among his friends Marxist professors. Obama himself admits this. He also admits attending socialist conferences. That would suggest the influence that Davis had on Obama extended into his college and university years.

Now when he gets to Chicago, we find that once again he gravitates and comes into the company of the most extreme anti-American elements, including socialists and communists. Keep in mind that the Weather Underground terrorists, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, were communist terrorists. They were not just '60s radicals. These were people who openly supported the communist enemy killing Americans in Vietnam. Some of the members in this group, including Dohrn, had traveled to Havana, Cuba, to get instructions from the communists about how to wage their campaign in the United States.

Q: What was Obama’s relationship with Ayers and Dohrn and how close was it?
A: The big question is whether there is a connection between the communist network in Hawaii that included Frank Marshall Davis and the communist network in Chicago that would also come to include Barack Obama. We know that according to the public evidence that Obama launches his political career in Chicago at the home of Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers. Other people who were there include then-state Sen. Alice Palmer and a Dr. Quentin Young. Those two people are almost as significant as Ayers and Dohrn.

We have two reports that state Sen. Palmer had been involved in a Communist Party front group called the U.S Peace Council and had actually made a trip to the old Soviet Union. Dr. Quentin Young had been accused of involvement and membership in the Communist Party, and he refused to answer as well when he was called before a committee to explain his financial support for radicals who were behind the riots in Chicago at the Democratic National Convention back in 1968. So we have got four controversial people launching Obama’s political career in Chicago who were involved in socialist or communist activities.

Q: You are not making the claim that Obama is a communist or a “Manchurian Candidate”-type communist or anything else?
A: We are only raising the questions that the media will not look into. We think the media should examine both candidates. But in the case of Obama, who has only been a U.S. senator for a few years, there is more of a responsibility to inform the public about where he had come from. Remember, as president, he will be entitled to see all of our state secrets. And yet, as a candidate, he doesn’t have to undergo a background or security check. That’s why we depend on the media really to vet these candidates, so the American people can know who they are voting for.

On the question about Obama being a communist or a Marxist, of course we never came to any conclusions about that or offered any evidence one way or the other; that wasn’t our purpose. But it’s important to note that when Obama did run for the Senate in 2004, his opponent at the time, Alan Keyes, had charged that Obama was a Marxist. Obama dismissed it. He almost laughed it off. But he certainly has in my view the responsibility and obligation to explain these associations and why it is that he lands right in the middle of two different communist networks -- one in Hawaii, where he is growing up, and one in Chicago, where he’s launching his political career.

It could be that this is all a coincidence -- that it’s just accidental that he seems to get right in the middle with associations with these anti-American characters. But then again, maybe it’s not an accident. He has to answer some of these concerns and our media have to begin by subjecting him to the scrutiny that they apply to somebody like McCain and other candidates.

Q: Dana Milbank of The Washington Post covered your press conference and wrote a sarcastic piece that said you were engaging in “guilt by association.” What’s your response to that?
A: You know, I asked G. Gordon Liddy when I did his radio show about some of these issues that we are raising. Liddy of course used to be an FBI agent, and he said the FBI would always examine somebody’s associations when they looked at somebody to determine if they were suitable for federal employment. They would look for contacts with foreign countries, foreign individuals, hostile governments and hostile intelligence services. They would look at the question of whether this individual is really loyal to the United States.

We’re asking some of these questions about Obama, and we will continue to ask them, because people like Milbank -- who may not really be a serious journalist -- clearly are not interested. He had made it clear in previous columns that he is a big Obama supporter and there are many like him in the major media, which made our news briefing even more important. We not only have issued our two reports and put them on our Web site, usasurvival.org, but we will be putting up video of the whole press conference so that people can take a look and make their own conclusions and not have to rely on the media to filter what we said.

Q: If you could get Tim Russert on “Meet the Press” to ask Sen. Obama a question about these early influences, what would it be?
A: I think the big question would be, “Why, Sen. Obama, did you cover up the identity of Frank Marshall Davis in your book?” If this had been an innocent association -- if this had just been some guy that Obama came across and realized, “Well, look, he’s just some kind of crazy communist. And, yeah, I had some meeting with him and he gave me advice on various things. But he didn’t have any impact on me. And I went off to college and it had no lasting effect.” That would be one thing.

But that’s not how Obama handled it. Instead he talks about “Frank” as someone who gave him serious advice, including not to believe in the American way of life and that black people had a right to hate white people. These were things according to Obama that Frank told him. Rather than deal with that kind of advice in his book, and analyze the motivations of Frank and identify him by his full name, Obama covers up his true identity. Why?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01111363804849284762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7648842462245607458.post-27974952292589528322008-04-24T20:29:00.000-07:002008-04-24T20:31:08.626-07:00The secret life of Barack Obama<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_1ihUIofCaxs/SBFQTzP8J0I/AAAAAAAAAHw/I8sOZL-BdCM/s320/April08WB.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5193020146439694146" />
Many consider him nothing less than a savior. They're entranced by Obama and his messianic campaign, which regularly has seen swooning women fainting in his presence.
