Europeans the reason for all the mess in the World?

One of my brother's friend's friend came down from Finland and then she was quite irritated the way we Indians are when compared to the Europeans. She had few points like:

Why do we Indians always think "Me first"?
Why do we Indians never follow the traffic?
Why do we Indians never follow the rules?
Indian cities are in mess???
Why do Indians always want to become hero? Where as we could easily become a good team player?
Why are we so much money mined and self centered?

I really think Westerners don't understand what we Indians are and then try to curse away and not understand our view point. I really think we Indians are not exactly they way she thinks we are...

Every Indian is very tolerant... Indians have allowed raiders, burglars, and thieves etc to come to our country and then allowed them to become the Kings and Queens of this country...

Just to brush up the history why we are like this...

India was ruled by Mughals who came from Iran… We didn’t invite them but when they came we asked them to stay and make this their home… After that Aurangzeb wanted to convert every Indian who was either a Buddhist or Hindu into a Muslim with force… We didn’t trust the Mughals anymore and then came the British…

They stayed here for 400 years… They tricked and cheated us for 400 years… They forced us to pay taxes for the Rice and Wheat we grew on our fields... They forced us to grow Indigo on our fields even if the field doesn't grow any crop in future... They forced us to become slaves in our country... British took away our money and resources and then broke the country into India and Pakistan… In terms of development they made the railways… other than that???

Now it’s in our blood that we have to fight and go ahead of the other… We don’t trust anyone… Got the reason why we are like this? Someone gave the observation… I suggested the reason… For 1000 years keep someone a slave, when you give him independence how can you expect him to be a matured and sophisticated adult? Give us time we will improve and become better…

Now let’s talk about Politics

This country has 85 % Hindus… When Manmohan Singh (a Sikh) became the prime minister the oath was given by President Abul Kalam (who is a Muslim) and a Sikh became prime Minister because a Christian, Sonia Gandhi, didn’t want to become a Prime Minister… I say again that India is a country with 85% of Population Hindus… Where else can this happen? We are tolerant just stop cheating us…

Every Indian was given voting rights as soon as we got Independence... The Americans didn't allow the Women to vote till early 1920s and the Black Man could not vote till 1965... You call that progress?

When the world compares India with US and Europe it means we are getting at par with them… US gained Independence in 1778 and now its 2008… So it took them around 230 years to achieve what they have become… USA has had its own problems and they have slowly and steadily solved it… The world has given India 60 years and we have done enough to prove ourselves…

Also let us talk about what great achievements the Europeans & Americans have done…

Remember slavery?? Who stared it? Europeans… not Indians… so how can the Europeans say that they are nice people and Indians are bad in culture?
Remember the number of Jews killed in 2nd world war? It happened to be Europe and not Asia…
Remember 2003 Iraq invasion?
Remember 2001 Afghanistan Invasion?
Remember taking over Australian continent 2 centuries ago from the Natives and asking the natives to work as laborers?
Remember when Robert Mogabe of Zimbabwe asked the Europeans to leave Zimbabwe, how much the United Nations cried? You didn’t teach Mogabe how to love others? You took the family and the farms away from the Black man, what do you expect from him? “Apple Pie with added mixed fruit jam on it” !!!!

India is the only nuclear power to have never Invaded any Nation !!! We have the third largest army whose sole purpose is to protect our borders and not invade others borders...

How many countries has India invaded? How many countries have the Europeans invaded? I guess more than 150… Every 2nd day we see BBC and find out that a small country in Africa is celebrating its 20th Independence Day or 30th Independence Day from Britain or Portugal or Spain or France or blah blah blah blah… I think the Europeans should stop talking about being nice and polite because we as Indians understand “WHEN THE KETTLE IS CALLING THE POT BLACK”

Also if Indians in every team & in every company want to become hero, then what’s the harm? Who remembers a team player? But everyone remembers a hero… It’s in our blood now… We can’t just be normal team players… It started with a man with 1 meter of white cloth on his body threw away the mighty British empire without firing a bullet… His name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi…

Let me list down the achievements of Indians...

The world’s biggest steel manufacturer is an Indian… Laxmi Mittal…
Hotmail was started by an India… Sabeer Bhatia…
Bose, the world’s best speakers manufacturer, was started by an India...
If people remember the movie SIXTH SENSE, it was made and directed by an India… Manoj Knight Shyamalan…
The ex CEO of Vodafone (the world's biggest cell phone service provider) was an Indian... Arun Sarin... Studied in IIT KGP...
Sun Microsystem was started by a group of friends and an Indian was one of them... Vinod Khosla... Alumnus of IIT Delhi...
Around 60 % of the software companies in Silicon Valley in California were started by Indian… if they were just team players we would not have these companies…
India has never had dictatorship in the 60 years of its independence… How many countries have achieved this? Look at our neighbors for a change…

I was watching this video online and it made me feel proud.

May be India hasn't become as great a nation as Mahatma Gandhi or Pandit Nehru or Sardar Patel or Bhagat Singh or Subhash Bose would have dreamt about, but yes few of the systems in India are great.

Like in India the Army cannot run a country. The Army, Navy and Air Force are our defense systems and every Indian thanks them every second for protecting our borders, but they are not above the people. The people elect the government and the Defense Minister, Prime Minister and President are above the armed forces. This hasn't happen in Pakistan.

This video here shows the leaders of Pakistan talking about the political scenario there and they talk about India and asks Musharaff Saab to look towards India and learn from India. How India has made its political scene so strong that whatever happens the Government will be run by the people and not by the army. I am sad to say that out of the 60 years of Independence more than 50% of the time there has been dictatorship in Pakistan.

FIRST ABOUT HOCKEY

India played exceptional hockey in Malaysia and came second in the tournament which had 4 teams playing in Olympics. There were seven teams playing in the Azlan Shah Tournament: India, Argentina, New Zeland, Pakistan, Canada, Belgium & Malaysia. New Zeland, Pakistan, Canada & Belgium have qualfied for the Olympics and these teams were not the top 2 teams in this tournament. So now the question is "are the teams who are playing in Olympics the best 12 teams in the world?"

What I think is that the 12 teams which have qualified for Olympics are not the best 12 teams in the world. Teams like Argentina & India should have qualified. Ok we got the chance and didnt qualify but teams like Belgium & Canada will never be able to compete against the odds of Australia , Netherlands or Spain.

The system of qualifying was so horrible that International Hockey Federation had to ask the world champion "Germany" to play the Qualifiers. They lost to Belgium in a Tournament and so they had to play the qualifier. Utter non sense. Same with India & Argentina. the performance of the Argetinian team in the past few years wasn't looked at and canada qualified based on some minutes of madness by Canada. Argentina qualified for the Champion's trophy which is going to happen in few weeks time and their performance in Azlan Shah Tournament was exceptional. Don't they deserve to play in the Olympics?

What should have happened is that the top six teams should have qualified directly to Olympics. So Australia, Pakistan, Germany, Netherlands, Spain and Korea should have made it directly to the olympics based on the performance since the past 2 years. Every Continent level tournament & world level tournament is rated in the International Hockey Federation. Good thing. And the next 12 teams from 7th to 18th rank should have played a mini world cup kind of thing. The top 6 teams qualify for the Olympics. As simple as that. no host country nothing of that shit. Play the tournament and qualify.

Now some might say "It is possible that Argentina & India could have come 7th or 8th in that tournament" Yes it is possible but they would be having more opportunities to defend their place. One bad match wouldn't allow they to not qualify.

Lets hope the IHF takes note of this mess and the best 12 teams of the world play the Olympics and the World Cup in future.

I hate this Hindi news channel Aaj Tak but when they exposed the Indian Hockey federation General Secy "Jyotikumar" taking bribe , then I thanked every person working for Aaj Tak. I knew we could now say, "Gill और उसके पिल्लों का पाप का घडा भर गया"
And thats what happened.
On 28th of April Indian Hockey federation was thrown away, Gill and his nonsense was asked to get lost. Some of the earlier players were made the members of an adhoc commitee which will run the Indian Hockey for the time being. We dont know how much successful this will be but we are already witnessing some changes right away.

Today they have announced the team for Azlan Shah Tournament and the team looks very young. Most of the guys are from Indian - A team, they are not looking at winning this tournament but are looking at making a good team for the future. This adhoc commitee wants to see what the Indian team is doing in 2010 & 2012. So lets look at the younger players.
They have got a new head coach A. K. Bansal who was the coach of Orissa Steelers. Coach Bansal has also got lots of support staff, which includes Rick Charlesworth and Joachim Carvahlo.
Good thing is that they haven't thrown out the earlier coach. But the bad thing is that they have made him an Observer, now what the hell does that mean?
It means that the current hockey administrators trust him for few of his qualities but don't believe in him completely. This doesn't mean that Carvahlo is bad or worse. Its just that they want him to assist the new coach.
May be they want Carvahlo to help the players gain the best fitness. We did see that the players under him were leaner and fitter. Carvahlo and Bansal would work together with Bansal's brain and Carvahlo's work ethic they can build a better team. And to help them both we have the legend of Rick Charlesworth.
Rick Charlesworth has been made the adviser. We dont know how much of his ideas would be taken seriously by the head coach and the observer lets wait and watch. Hopefully these three can clear this कचरा of Indian Hockey.

Few of the things Indian government has to do is "BUILD MORE THAN 100 TURF FIELDS IN THE COUNTRY." If we don't have more turf fields we might just not be able to see India playing the Champion's Trophy ever.
Another thing is that Rick Charlesworth has said which is very sad but true "India should understand that we are not the top 12 teams in the world"
Lets hope for the best for Indian hockey!!!

Should we or Should we not?

I was having a discussion with my friends and cousins, "whether we should build a house or we should live all our life in a rented house?" there were quite interesting facts shared.

Well I was talking to few friends and trying to figure out how much would a guy ultimately pay to the bank if he took a loan at the end of the loan term.
Loan Amount : Rs 4,000,000
Loan Tenor : 15 years
Loan Interest: 12 % per annum
So at the end of 15 years how much would the borrower have paid to the bank in total? And the magic number is : Rs 8,641,260.00
So I kind of send few mails to my friends and cousins asking them if it is advisable to buy a house or live in a rented place for ever. Because at the end why should I give Rs 4,641,260.00 more to anyone that what he has given me? Because of time value of money? Ok I am ready to pay 1,000,000.00 more but not that huge a number.

This is what my brother had to say

But it all depends on what you are left with after the loan is paid off... right? For tangible assets, the value of a loan can be easily quantified.

Much more difficult in case of intangible assets... the value of which can only be assessed by the person taking the loan, and can sometimes involve very emotional aspects of one's decision making process...

There are a whole bunch of things you can do with the asset. Pass it on to your kids, give it to your loved ones, or donate it to charity, etc. etc. Any one of these would be better than being out of Rs 3,444,000 and having nothing to show for it.

I agree that having money (or assets) does not make one happy, but I have found that having money does not make one sad either. He He He He He He.

you cant expect to be living in same rented house for 10-15 years.. can you ? (NO I dont want to live in the same house for ever)
you can't buy furniture suited to the place... you won't get to know the neighbors... (Hmmm)
you can't modify it according to your tastes and likes... example, putting permanent fixtures.... (Hmmm Correct)

Another of my friends told me how much does it cost to live in a rented house for 20 years.

If you paying Rs 10,000 as rent every month, then after 10 years you would be paying, the magic figure is (12 * 10,000) * 10 years = Rs1,200,000. Plus u can add compound interest of 8.5 % ascending as the amount grows. I guess u will end paying same amount which u pay to bank after taking loan for Rs 2,000,000..

I guess he is absolutely correct.

I guess we all should aim to buy a house but It took some help from my family and friends to convince me, why we should buy a house. Its not that I didnt know these things but its like "DO I REALLY NEED TO BUY A HOUSE FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY?" I am convinced.

This post would help everyone for people who are undecided on the point whether we should buy a house or we should live in a rented apartment.

My brother did some tricks with his shoe laces and tricked me. he just moved his feet and tied the laces. He did that twice and I wanted to see it slow motion as to how he ties his shoelaces, without even using his hands, touching his shoes or even bringing his hands close to his laces. He does it by just moving his feet. So to do understand how he does it I captured a video.

What should we do for a great India???

The finance minister has presented his budget and has given joy to a lot of Indian middle class citizens. Helped us by reducing the taxes and also has helped the farm sector. But what are we doing to bring some hope to our fellow Indians? I don't think we are doing anything. We just crib complain, complain more. And then while having the morning cup of tea with the news paper in hand we say "Darling, देश को corruption ने जकड के रखा है. देश आगे ही नहीं बढ रहा है."
Today as Indians we are the most horrible when it comes to moving around in public.

We dont follow traffic rules
We spit on roads
We smoke below the no smoking sign
We turn right when the signal says "DO NOT TURN RIGHT" or the other way around.
We honk at anything moving on the road, even buffaloes.
We keep our houses clean but throw the waste just outside our house boundary, we never walk to the dustbin kept 10 Mtrs away from the house main gate.
We park the car in such a way that no other person can park his car. If the sign says park you car parallel to the road we just do it in some diagonal way.
We take the dog out so that it can shit and make itself happy and then when we walk on the street we never forget to say "Yaar dekho roads kitne gande hain, koi safai kyun nahi karta?"
We break the rules and when the cops catch us the first thing we say is "Sir sir sir, please sir !! Uncle beemar hai hospital ja raha tha. Sir kuch keejiye na." We just think we can break the rules and can just get over with it.
We start work late in office and leave late, we should change it to come to work early go back early and be with friends and family for a larger part of the day.

Another big problem which I find in India is that we have been brought up by parents who have told us:

अभी खेल के time waste मत करो, चलो पढ़ाई करो (dont waste your time in playing, come on study)
अरे क्या painting- shainting करते रहते हो? पढ़ाई कौन करेगा? (why are you painting? who will study?)
खेलते हुए चोट लग जायेगी, ध्यान से खेलो (You will get hurt while playing, take it easy)

Sports and extra activities are very necessary in the overall development of the child. Anyways in India extra activities means going to for a movie. We rarely find sports being part of our culture. Theater is dying. Music is all remix and copied. Mahesh Bhatt has mastered the art of watching DVDs and making movies in a week.

Anyways my point is that we arn't really doing justice to what we can do. The question is not "What are we doing for the growth of the nation and making it a better place to live?" but the question is "What can we do to make this a better place to live 100 years after???"

Four points which can make India a better place to live from my side, anyone else who wants to contribute is welcome:

Just keep your surroundings and head clean. Dont pee on walls. Dont spit on roads. Throw garbage in the community garbage bin. Think good about your neighbor and help the elderly.
Follow rules set by the government. Pay taxes. Dont cheat the public.
Work and family life should be balanced. Work hard in office. Finish tasks in given time and care about your family a little more. Tuck in your kid in bed, when he is about to sleep.
Ask your kid to follow one extra curricular activity with passion. Any activity, it can be sports, music, drawing, painting, watching stars, writing poetry, reading novel, anything, just help him/ her follow that passion. Ask if he/ she needs help in anyway from your side.

I don't know if I can see a great India before I become 75 years old but yes I do see a great India since I was 10 years old. We have progressed and belive me we are on the right track, because there are many more people who think the same like what I think. Happy Nation !!! :-)

Congrats to the Indian under 19 cricket team for bringing home the Kids World Cup.
Congrats to Dhoni and his young lads for killing the Australians in the 1st final.
Congrats to Prabodh Tirkey and his Hockey champs for an 8-0 victory agsinst Russia. And good luck to them so that they can win the tournament in Chile and qualify for the Olympics.

Indian Hockey team is going to play the Olympic Qualifiers in few days time in Chile. The matches are very crucial for India and Indian Hockey. We must must must win the tournament to qualify for the Olympics. The matches would be shown live on Ten Sports. Every match would be around 1.00 AM IST.

If we don't qualify for Olympics, it would be like Brazil not qualifying for world cup football. Although Indians don't play the same level of hockey what the Brazilians play football as of date, but our history might be similar to what Brazil has in Football. Just for the sake of history the Hockey team should pout a fight and defeat the chotu motu teams. I am full tensed what will happen if India doesn't qualify for the Olympics.

Economic Growth at 8.5 % !!! So What????

Its been a terrific economic growth rate in India at 8.5 % if we look at whats happening across the globe. US and UK are facing a huge economic down turn and recession might come into the West any day. People in the US are not able to pay the house EMIs and their medical bills. Poor Americans. So sad for them. Here have a tissue wipe your tear. Now fuck off.
But in India we are doing pretty OK, when it comes to growth. The Finance Minister says it would be 8.5% for the year 2007-2008.

We have Indian companies, acquiring companies in the West and showing their strength to buy more.
Rupee is stronger
We have Malls all across the big cities
Indians have more mobile phones than the land line phone connections
Indians drive big cars
Indian car manufacturers have brought out real cheap cars with good innovation
Lots of jobs
IPOs of some companies never heard of are making the common man getting richer & he really doesn't care as long as his portfolio is 200% higher than what he invested
Sensex might go up or down but economy is stable
Inflation is lower than that of a poor African Nation, for example Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, Somalia, etc
We haven't had any Hindu-Muslim, Sikh-Hindu, Christian-Muslim, Buddhist-Hindu - Muslim riots, in last 100 days
Aaah there hasn't been any killing in the school since past 1 month
etc etc etc

Lets not get forget we are all fucked up. We have forgotten, WE as in me, you, social reformers, social activists, politicians, IAS officers, etc etc everyone has forgotten that Indian is no less than Somalia or Burundi or Viet-Fucking-nam or any other fucked up African nation because of the following reasons :

Farmers are committing suicides in the states of Punjab, Maharashtra, Andhra. Why?? Because there is no rain and the irrigation system is not available for the farmers. What have the leaders done in more than half a century??? They have not been able to build canals yet !!!
There is bad sanitation and public transport system, not in 1 city, not in two cities but across the country. Its fucked up every where !!! I cant piss in the city of Madras in a public toilet because there are NON !!! And where there are you can only puke not piss !!!
Half the country is illiterate !! May be more!!! But the government says its 30%. Screw you Indian Government, just because a farmer can sign his name doesn't mean he is literate.
The government says there should be no child marriages but now they want to reduce the marriageable age of the guys to 18 years. NOT INCREASE BUT DECREASE IT !!! Question : What will the guy who gets married at 18 do to feed his family??? Or will he ask his dad for money??? Or it is NON of your concern??? अरे वह शादी कर रहा है , इस में सरकार क्या कर सकती है?
What happened to the reduce the growth rate of population??? What happened to the One couple one child idea??? All down the drain???
What about electricity to all the villages??? What about Roads connecting all the villages in India??? If a flood comes in Orrisa the supplies reach there after 10 days??? This is the infrastructure development in last 60 years?? People in Bombay local trains cant travel without smooching the person standing next to him. Why?? Because everyone stands so close in the local train that you have to inhale his breadth.
What about One Country??? Sala Tamilian says Tamil Nadu is for them GO BACK NORTH INDIANS, Marathi says Maharashtra is for them GO BACK BIHARIS AND UPITES, Sardar says Punjab is for them GO BACK BIHARIS!!! What is taking the asshole Dr. Manmohan Singh to not come on TV and say "Mr So & So, what you are saying is absolutely wrong. You have no right to say this. India is one nation and whjat you are saying is against the constitution. Its the fundamental right of every Individual to live and work where ever he wants to." Is he hiding behind the Pallu of Sonia Gandhi???
Why doesn't the Government do something so that culprits are brought to terms; Who are involved in 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy, 1984 Sikh Riots, 1992 Babri Masjid Demolition, 1993 Bombay Riots, 2002 Gujrat Riots, etc etc etc??
Why doesn't the government pass a bill saying "Anyone who has cases against them and are under CBI scaner or judicial probe is awaited, can never stand for MP, MLA??" Why is it so difficult for the government?? Because even the people who will pass this bill are under the CBI scanner???

Then I have few words for the government of India.

Don't say economic growth of India means India is developing. Say the industry is growing and the big companies are becoming bigger and rich are enjoying more. Poor are anyways dying.
Say that we are a failure, it is the manufacturing, IT, Finance, Textile, etc etc industry because of which the Forex Reserves of India have grown.
Say that we really don't know what to do with $1 Trillion. Say it, there is no harm in saying "I really don't know. I am screwed in my head!!! We are morons who are running this country. We might even screw up the growth with our horrible policies"
Say sorry to the victims of tragedies I have counted above. Say that "We haven't given you justice, we are sorry"
Say that "Just because the economy is growing doesn't mean everyone is happy. There is a lot to be done in every rural village in India." Tell us what do you mean when you say LOTS TO BE DONE.
And last but not the least "REDUCE TAXES!!!"
I really think VAT is not necessary if I eat a Burger or Pizza. Who the fuck are you to charge money from me if I eat whatever I want to eat??? Someone grows something in his fields, someone else processes it, someone sells it, someone buys and eats it. Who the FUCK ARE YOU to ask money from everyone???

As Indians I think we are just too tolerant against the government and are too scared of the Politicians.

Eastern Promises

Its a story about a girl who works as a nurse in a hospital. Her life changes when a 14 year old girl delivers a baby and dies. The nurse gets hold of the diary of the 14 year old girl and tries to understand what problems she faced during her short life.
The 14 year old girl is from Russia and so is the nurse's father. She meets people and tries to read through the diary. With this she gets herself into the trap of Russian mafia working in the UK. Among the mafia is also a person from the Russian police who is trying to destroy the mafia. She finds that out and they both come close. How it all ends is a different story, but the way the story is told is bloody brilliant. It’s a must watch.

A History of Violence

This is the movie made by the same director who made Eastern Promises.
The movie starts in a small motel where two guys kill the motel owner very calmly as if they are buying a chewing gum. These two guys are now out of cash and are passing through a small town. They go in a coffee shop owned by Tom Stall and ask him for cash. Tom Stall is a nice guy, has a pretty wife and two children. After being asked for cash, Tom says, "Sir we don’t really have enough people coming to this place we don’t have much money", but they start molesting the woman who works there. That’s it, Tom kills both the bastards and becomes a hero in America in no time.
Everyone wants to come to his coffee shop and talk to the hero. But then after few days some 3-4 guys from Philadelphia come down and call Tom "Joey". There is this huge confusion what’s going on and all that. They ask him to come to Philadelphia and settle the score. Tom Stall keeps telling that they are confused and he is Tom and not Joey.
Tom's family becomes very terrified with these guys showing up in the mall and any place the family members go. These guys then show up at Tom's house and he kills all three of them.
He gets injured and tells his wife that he is actually Joey and he had left those guys long back. This Tom guy was in-fact a serial killer and used to work for a gang in Philadelphia. He had some unfinished business and he had cheated this gang and ran out of it, so that he can start a new life.

His wife gets very wild and feels like he has cheated her and had never told her this part of his life. She feels he is a serial killer who is now showing his split personality and might cause harm to the children some day. She doesn’t leave him but starts ignoring him even if he is in the house.

But even after the death of the three members the Gang leader keeps calling him to Philadelphia and wants to meet him. Tom goes to Philadelphia and meet this gang leader who is no one else but Tom’s brother. What happens during the meeting and after that is to be seen in the movie.

It is one of those movies, which are slow, but very gripping and keep you at the edge of your seat through out the 2 hours. Must watch again!!!

We visited the Giraffe sanctuary and you could actually feed the giraffe. :-) This is Prateek Vyas and I am taking the video. Giraffe looks like a real girlie animal. Very calm and very sweet child kinds. But sometimes they also give the "Zidane Head Butt" and that really hurts. Giraffe has this very thick saliva and when you wash your hands after feeding them, it is like you are trying to remove Fevicol from your hand. Kind of Grosss !!!

I took this video from top of the picnic hill inside the Nakuru National Park. Now because this is a picnic hill you can find thousands of Baboons roaming around and trying to snatch your food from your hands. So if you want to have picnic then you should sit in your vehicle and have your food in an enclosed space. Bloody Naughty Baboons. But the lake looks awesome from the top. You find the white white kind of things around the shore of the lake, that is the flock of various birds which come at the lake everyday and fight for fish. Millions of them !!!

Pelicans flying around the lake. They have huge beaks and try to eat more than they can put in their belly. At the end of the video you can find a guy with a huge camera, in the earlier post where I had added some photos, if the photos are good they must be the ones taken by that camera, some Nikon D 80 thing.

There were some 5 billion Flamingos. As soon as we landed at the lake, we found them shouting at full volume. Prateek took this video but he is moving his camera very fast. It feels like I am going to fall rotating round and round. but just listen to the noise of the Flamingos. There were some 3-4 other kinds of long legs birds also. :-)

Aah this was bloody good. We found few small animals running around and then in one bush we found a leopard. The leopard crossed the road and we all got shit scared. You can find our cameras going click click and Rishi shouting "Rajan take Photo!!!", "Issac Issac start the car and lets run" (Issac was our driver).
The leopard looks like it is some 100 mtrs away from us, but because we were using pathetic cameras it looks like its very far. Actually its some 20 mtrs or so away from us. It was scary!!!
Also we were at one end of the park and if we ever got into any dangerous situation help would take around 20-30 minutes to arrive.

The whole of morning and afternoon we were trying to find Rhinos, but we found them only at around 4 Pm in the evening. From 10.30 AM to 4.00 PM one of my friends kept pestering the driver "Take me to the place where I can find Rhinos, Issac drive quick if I dont see Rhinos I am not going to pay you. Issac faster take me to the Rhinos" Oh man, what can poor driver do if the Rhinos are hiding??? I guess the driver would be the most happy guy after WE saw the Rhinos.

Prateek's hands move very fast and sometimes which watching a video you might feel dizzy !!! ;-)

Few Movies

Been watching lots of movies lately. Few of them were decent.

1. Green Street Hooligans

Its a man's movie to be very straight. It involves football and fighting. You support a football club and support it, even if it takes your life.
There is this kid Matt Buckner, who is studying Journalism in Harvard and is thrown out because they find drugs in his room. The drugs belong to his room mate but he doesn't defend and fight back. He leaves Harvard and comes to London to stay with his sister.
Matt makes friends who are supporters of WestHam United Football Club. The supporters drink watch matches and then they fight with the opponent team's supporters. Don't ask me why? Its just like that always !!!
Truth not part of the film: WestHam was in a lot of controversy in 2005-2006 season and got out of it pretty easily. Simply, because it has a very old tradition of football and the club owners have very deep pockets. FA couldn't throw them out of premier league because for FA to survive they want WestHam and such clubs to play in the premier league.
Back to the movie, now this Matt kid gets pretty friendly with the WestHam supporters and gets a very high place in the West Ham Firm. They start calling him "Yankee with a funny accent".
Finally there is a FA Cup Match to be held between MillWall and WestHam, and before the match a fight breaks out and his best friend dies in it.
Matt does learn a lot of things from his stay in London, one if them is that "Sometimes it is very important to hold your ground (Being a student he should have defended himself at Harvard) but sometimes it is important to let it go (being a west Ham supporter you need not fight with the rivals every single time)"
People who understand football and have a little knowledge on how the English Clubs have their fans in gang supporting their teams, would love this movie. Not recommended for girls !!!

2. Bridge to Terabithia

Bridge on Terabithia is a really nice movie about two kids and their lovely imagination.
There is this boy in school and he has four sisters and its a happy family. The kid has problems in school, everyone bully's him and all that stuff. One day a new girl joins school and turns out to be his neighbour. Then one day they decide to just go into the woods near their house and cross the river, they name the land across the river as their Kingdom - Terabithia. :-)
The girl's parents are writers and ask the kids to think larger than life, think out of the box, imagination should run wild. The movie shows the boy's crush on his music teacher and how he tries to impress her, help her and gather affection for the teacher.
Then an incident happens and things change. Watch the movie. Its really cool. :-)

3. American Gangster

Bloody Brilliant film I should say. Its set around the time of Viet-Freaking-Nam War (Stolen from Forest-Freaking-Gump). The time when everyone in US were going high on dope and Pink Floyd and everyone loved being called Junky. Well thats got no context to the story.
Its about how a black man gets into the business of drug trafficking and runs it for years without even getting noticed. The main reason he doesn't get noticed is because he is a black man and the business of smuggling and drug trafficking is run by the Whites.
What he does is really cool, he gets the drugs from Thiland, transports on the military aircrafts and gets the drugs of highest quality into US. He has friends in the military, police department, administration, etc etc. He doesn't employ many people, instead he asks his cousins (which he has in millions) to join him and help in his business. He now has people around him whom he can trust and has the best quality product in the market, sells it at a nominal price and not a single person notices him because he is black. Brilliant!!!
Management Skills to the maximum. Excellent Operation's Management, Excellent Marketing, Excellent Sales, Excellent Human Resources, Excellent Pricing Strategy and excellent product, but he has one problem He deals in the wrong product.
He is then followed by the cops and is evetually caught. Denzel Washington acts as the drug lord Frank Lucas and Russell Crowe acts as Detective Richie Roberts.

I also saw Taare Zameen Par. I think the movie is nice not great. I have seen better movies or I would say some other movies were considered better w.r.t TZP by me. But who am I? Paintings were good. :-)
