There is something positive beyond them - you just need to discover what it is. You see, your higher self sees beyond time and current circumstances. It knows your “true intentions“, even if you are unaware of them consciously, and it will do everything in its power to match you vibrationally to that thing you are “truly” wanting. For instance, if your higher intention is safety and security and something comes up that will jeopardize that safety and security (even if you are unaware that it will jeopardize it at the time) it is not at all surprising that obstacles will suddenly appear to prevent you from making a mistake. Quite often we can misinterpret this obstacles as negative things happening to us or it is just us “not getting what we want when we want it” but there is a little more to it than that. The following story is an example: My husband and I were living in a house we bought in Staten Island when we first got married. At the time we bought it, we were both working full time in Manhattan, and while we were making just enough to afford it, there was no extra money. After a couple of years we decided we wanted to have a baby, but realized that there was no way we could continue to pay for the house if I quit working to stay home to take care of the baby (which I really wanted to do) nor could we afford a full time sitter under the circumstances. So we decided the only logical solution was to sell our house in New York and have a house built in Southern New Jersey about an hour and a half away. The houses there were much cheaper and we could afford to live there on one salary. We were leaving friends and family behind, but we couldn’t see any other choice. This was when we ended up making one of the most ridiculous mistakes we could have ever made (or so we thought). Instead of taking the money from the sale of our Staten Island home and putting it into an escrow account to be used for the down payment on the new house we were having built, we made the mistake of giving the money directly to the builder. This builder then proceeded to skip town with it; leaving us with no house, no money to buy another one and no way to find him. By the time this all occurred I was already six months pregnant. Now to say I was despondent was putting it mildly! We had no choice but to get ourselves an apartment in Staten Island and pray that we would hit some kind of lottery, because with only my husband working it would take years to save up enough money for another down payment. On top of that, the housing boom hit which put $200,000 homes into the half million dollar category! Talk about watching your dream get further and further away from you! Now you see, I truly do believe that everything happens for a reason, but at the time, I truly couldn’t figure this one out. We were both good and honest people; we had worked hard and had saved every penny we could and now it was all gone in one fell swoop. Even though I had already starting learning about the law of attraction, this was a really tough one for me to overcome. No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t seem to get past the resentment I felt towards the whole situation. Which of coarse kept me in the situation even longer. Eventually I started getting back into studying, meditating and looking forward instead of back. It was no easy climb, I assure you. But I started my own online business and put all my energy into focusing on bringing more money in as opposed to staying focused on what we had lost. Now this is when things got interesting. During the time this was all happening, my mother met a really great guy she was getting serious with. He had his own house in Pennsylvania and she eventually found herself spending more time there then she was in her own house in Staten Island. She didn’t want to sell her house because she still wanted a place to be able to come back to when she visited us or my brother. So she made us a deal. If my husband and I would take over all the expenses of the house (the mortgage was paid off years ago, so it was just taxes, insurance and the utilities), we could live there as long as we wanted. We only needed to leave the guest room open for her anytime she wanted to visit. Talk about a no-brainer! The part that strikes me funny though (and what inspired this article, by the way) is that I just came across my old law of attraction journals and read what I had written years ago right before I had sold my own Staten Island home. It is the list of intentions I wrote to Universe about what I was choosing to create for my future. This is what it said: I choose to live in a beautiful house I can easily afford I choose it to be in a great neighborhood I choose to be surrounded by good friends and neighbors I choose it to be located in a great school zone There were some other minor things, but that was the gist of it. What amazes me looking at it now is realizing that I never stated that I had to own the house, or that I was going to have the perfect house built, or even stated that it was going to be a beautiful house in New Jersey; though I know at the time that I wrote the list that that was the direction we were headed because we were already in the process. All I know is, I am glad that Universe took me at my word and I am very happy that in this case I wasn‘t more specific, because I couldn’t have foreseen how much better this situation would work out for me. You see, in the time that it took for all these things to occur, the property taxes in the area of New Jersey that I was going to move to has since tripled! If I was living there now it would be costing me more than I was originally paying for my first Staten Island house that I couldn’t afford. It would have been a constant financial struggle, even if I had found another full time job out of the house. Not to mention how easily the other things on my list fell into place. I am living in a great neighborhood, I am already surrounded by good friends and neighbors because I have known them most of my life growing up here and my son is in the same excellent school zone I was in! The point is, quite often we don’t realize when we are right in the thick of what we perceive to be a negative situation, that there is something for our greater good beyond it. We get so focused on cursing the darkness in the tunnel that we forget to look for the light at the end of it. So here is the exercise for you. It comes in two parts with a bonus at the end if you really want to get into it.. Part One Think back and write down all the times when what you thought was a negative situation turned into a positive one. For instance: When you had to cancel vacation plans due to work or lack of money and found out later they had a hurricane that week. When you missed your flight due to bad weather and then found out the plane you were supposed to be on got stuck on the tarmac for 7 hours and you were at least in a comfortable airport with a bar and a bathroom! When you didn’t get a job you thought you wanted and ended up being available for a better one. When the person you wanted to call you never did, and you ended up meeting the “one” because you were single. When you missed making the perfect investment, only to find out the company tanked and you would have lost a ton of money. You get the idea. These things happen all the time. Writing them down helps reaffirm to you that Universe (or your higher self, if you prefer) does in fact have your best interests at heart. If you have a hard time coming up with anything, think about every good thing in your life right now and backtrack. Believe me, you will start to see many ways these things couldn’t have come to you if you had indeed gotten what you originally asked for. Part Two Start looking for the light at the end of your tunnel by asking What If? What If The Reason I Haven’t Gotten What I Want Yet Is Because….? Start stretching your mind with ideas of what your higher self might have in store for you that you just haven’t realized yet. For example: What if (I didn’t get this position) because a better one is waiting for me. What if (the reason the deal on buying the house fell through) was because the roof is about to collapse this winter and it would have cost me a fortune I wouldn’t have. What if (the reason he/she hasn’t called me for another date) was because they are total psychos and my higher self knows better than for me to get involved with them. What if (the reason the car broke down today when I had somewhere really important to be) was because I would have been involved in a major accident if I had been on the highway today. What if (the reason I can’t afford the ski trip right now) is because I would have broken my leg on the slopes. What if (the reason I am stuck on the absolutely slowest line in the store) is because if I left earlier I would run into someone I really don’t want to see right now. Really stretch your imagination. The fun part of this exercise is that it can help soothe you through disappointment. But the most important part happens later when you prove yourself to be right and you indeed confirm that your higher self has your best interests at heart. That’s when you begin to trust that everything is happening in exactly the right order. Now for the Bonus Part if you really want to get into it. Step Three Try to find your true “hidden intention” as opposed to what you think that you want. For instance, with my Jersey house. I originally thought my intention was to have this beautifully built house in New Jersey. But in truth my “hidden intention” was just to live in a beautiful house I could afford. This was obvious by how I wrote my intention on my list. After struggling financially in our first house, security was really all I was looking for and just hadn’t realized it. It wasn’t until after I received it that I noticed the blessing it really was. Maybe in your case, your “hidden intention” was to find someone who really cared about you and was interested in the same things you are. You might have originally thought you were going to find this with a person of the opposite sex but instead you found it in the new best friend you made six months ago and you just haven‘t realized it yet. So start enjoying and appreciating that friend that Universe sent you in answer to your request and watch how that higher vibration will automatically attract the opposite sex person you are also wanting. Heck! It might even be through that friend. We are happily such complicated creatures. So much lies below the surface we aren‘t even aware of. But the daily discovery of these things is what makes life so fun and interesting. Just the fact that you are reading these types of articles means you are already on your way to discovery. So start looking for the positives that await you in your future. If something you are going through appears negative at the moment, it simply means you haven’t yet discovered the place your higher self is leading you to. Don’t get discouraged, don’t give up and don’t curse the darkness. Start taking the first steps now to finding the light at the end of your tunnel. What was I hoping for? Was it for adventure? Was I trying to prove something to myself, to others? What was my final objective to this horrid, unpleasant, tormenting, and yes, at times, delightful, gratifying and fascinating journey?

Through my book, A Place to Belong, I'm going to relate to you, the reader, a few of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly." There really is such a conglomeration existing and I'll have to admit, there are more good then the bad and the ugly.

I met many people that are out to claim whatever they can from you. Your valuables, be it money, clothes or jewelry. How about a temporary friendship? Yes, that too. It's referred to as "using you." How about renting you out on an hourly basis? Oh, yes! Lots of ways to do that. Let me tell you about some of them.

The usual and most common one is – "what can I get from you 'immediately'?" It's called robbery, pilfering or snatching. I was held up at gunpoint by two teenagers and forced to give them all my valuables. They got my money, lighter, cigarettes and my pocketknife. I was upset about everything, but that pocketknife really hurt, because it was given to me by a very dear friend.

One night my small satchel of belongings was lifted while I slept in a bus station. I didn't have very much, but then, I had nothing.

I was sitting in a park one day eating a sandwich with a soft drink a candy bar and pleasantly watching the animals play and scrounge for food. Three boys approached me and snatched my food and ran off. I was really upset, because the sandwich was my favorite. But, I figured they must have needed the food more than I did.

How about a temporary friendship? Yep, had that happened several times. They find out what your position is, your capabilities and what can they get out of you? You feel comfortable with them and enjoy their company. Then after their scheme or plans are fulfilled, they're gone. Disappeared. You thought you had a friend and now what do you have?

The worst one, and the scariest one is, renting yourself out by the hour, day or week. I came very close to being a victim of this con-job and didn't realize it until it was explained to me later. After a very frightful night and almost getting picked up for vagrancy, I headed back to the road.

A painted school bus stopped and opened the door. "Hey gringo, you want ride?" the bus driver asked. I put my foot on the first step. "How far you going?"

He motioned with his hand for me to get on the bus, a smile sweet like hot peppers. "Come, ride, come come." I got on and took any empty seat five rows back. He closed the door, and we bumped forward down the road.

The bus was loaded with Mexicans, migrant workers, I assumed. The driver kept talking to three men in the seats next to him. From time to time one of these three would look back at me and laugh. It was discomforting. I checked the reactions of the others on the bus. The women were very still. I watched their faces as the driver and men talked. Some would grimace and swallow hard. Some didn't move a muscle and some rolled their eyes and shook their heads in disgust.

The bus made a right turn on a dirt road. I jumped from my seat and ran to the driver saying I wanted to get off. He ignored me and kept driving. I grabbed him on the shoulder and hollered at him to stop. He pushed my arm away. The three men got out of their seats and headed towards me. I jerked the door handle, ran down the steps and jumped. Luckily, because of the bumpy dirt road, the bus wasn't going fast. I hit the ground and rolled over and over in the sand and dirt. When I finally stopped I wasn't surprised to see that the bus didn't even stop to see how I was.

I walked back to the highway and stuck out my thumb. Got a few short rides and then late into the day a rig stopped and I hopped in.

"The name's Mack," he said turning the big wheel of the rig back onto the pavement. He was a bear of a man, with the ball of his stomach tucked under the steering wheel. He didn't ask too many questions, just the necessary ones, like where you going, where you from.

He could tell I was sleepy, and he told me I could sleep if I wanted to, I said, "I really would like to, if you don't mind."

"No, go right ahead. Roll your jacket up and lean it against the corner of the door and go to sleep."

After a few hours of sleep, Mack and I started talking about several things. I told him about being picked up by the Mexicans in a bus and how I got away. He told me I was lucky to get away.

"They pick up young kids like you and take them to the fields, make them work. The straw boss pays them and the poor sucker that got picked up gets dumped back on the street with no money. Happens all the time. Sad part about it, they have no one to complain to because the law doesn't care."

"How long do they keep these people they pick up?"

"Depends on how long they go out for. One day, two days, even a week or two."

I felt kind of sick to my stomach and slumped down and thanked Noah for watching over me. I vaulted over another catastrophe.

Enough of the bad escapades. Let me tell you about the good people. There are many, but I'm only going to relate the one that really impressed and lifted my feelings and spirits for a high ride into the clouds.

I stood at an intersection where the road split. My feet throbbed. I was shaking so hard from the cold that my arm looked like it was waving hello, up and down, to every car that whizzed by. I stuck at it for two hours and finally went into a little store with a gas station across the street.

As I entered, the lady behind the counter said, "Wondered how long you'd last out there. What are you doing hitchhiking for, anyway?" I was trembling so hard I couldn't answer her. She came up to me and said, "Well, are you going to say something?"

"Yes ma'am. Soon as I can breathe good."

"Are you hungry?"

"Yes ma'am. Starved."

"You look like hell. When's the last time you had a good night's sleep?"

"Four days."

"All right," she said. "Get warm. I'll get you something to eat. I got an empty cabin in the back. It doesn't have a bed or anything, but it's warm and empty. You can spend the night there." She fixed me a hot meal, took me back to the cabin, gave me a pillow and blanket, looked at me and ordered, "Now sleep."

The cabin had an oil space heater in the middle of the room. I curled up in the blanket and lay down by the stove feeling ever so thankful. I slept for fourteen hours. When I got up I folded the blanket, put the pillow on top and took them back to the store. The lady was standing behind the counter when I walked in.

She smiled at me. "Boy, I had to check on you a couple of times. Thought maybe you died out there during the night."

She fixed me some breakfast, packed me a big lunch, gave me five dollars and said, "Now get your ass home and off the road!"

As I was leaving, she came around the counter and gave me a big hug. I could feel my eyes start to water. Her eyes were full of tears, too. I went back to my spot on the road and got a ride within minutes. I could see her standing in the store watching me. I figured she must have a kid that was like me or something, to do what she did for me. She was one fine lady. Yet I didn't even get her name.

abdelilah53http://www.blogger.com/profile/09912219943347279664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-763624694854729116.post-9153305431894115732008-04-03T12:15:00.000-07:002008-04-03T12:16:46.106-07:009 Hidden Keys to Happiness and Success by : Melissa Van RossumWe all love to feel motivated. I know I do. It’s absolute nirvana to be on purpose and on task at the same time. But life often intervenes in my plans and that can mean stress, frustration and setbacks and I find that I have to live my life on Inner Motivation – particularly when the proverbial chips are down. Most of us wait for someone else to give us a reason to move ahead or we wait for circumstance or opportunity to line up in just the right way so we can move ahead with the inner commitment we’ve been holding back. We wait for our partner to say ‘I love you’ first, we wait for a sign of acceptance before we commit to revealing some part of ourselves and we wait for the evidence of the result before we commit our belief.

To many of us this seems like a smart or even shrewd way of going about business and life. We think we’re protecting and insulating ourselves by not putting too much ‘out there’ and therefore avoiding disappointment or (God forbid) rejection. In reality, though, this is actually a very dangerous way to live life because it puts your life and your happiness in someone else’s hands - a sure fire equation for misery. From the inside this may seem like a very controlled way to live life, but it’s actually a very out of control way to live life. That’s why it makes us so unhappy and leaves us so unfulfilled. There’s nothing dependable or controlled about it.

One of my favorite movie scenes is from the Indiana Jones movie where he (played by Harrison Ford) and his father (played by Sean Connery) are searching for the Holy Grail. Indiana’s father lies dying at the hands of the Nazis and to save his life Indiana must find the Holy Grail. To get to the Grail, Indiana has to accurately decode his father’s Grail diary which will enable him to make his way through certain life-threatening challenges. After successfully making his way through several of the tests, he comes to a huge chasm that lies between where he is and where he wants to be. He reads the Bible passage from his father’s diary which has to do with “faith being the evidence of things not seen”. He picks up a handful of sand and throws it out to the chasm only to see the sand fall on an invisible bridge.

I personally believe there lies a bridge across every chasm we face, no matter the depth or the breadth of the canyon. The path to whatever we want in life always exists and we can find it if we have the unwavering commitment and willingness to learn and grow in the ways required of us.

“Courage is the price that life extracts for peace of mind.”
Amelia Earhardt

When the relationship or the job or the project doesn’t go the way you wanted it to, you need to have Authentic Inner Motivation to get you to where you want to be. You can’t force yourself to be motivated. You have to develop it from the inside out. Having Authentic Inner Motivation at your disposal whenever you want it requires focus, commitment and discipline.

How do you do develop Authentic Inner Motivation? Let’s take a look at the formula:

1. Set Goals - First, decide what you want. Take your sales, income and personal goals, and be crystal clear about them. Write them down and look at them several times throughout the day. A vague goal of doing the best you can or giving your best every day won’t get you there. You have to clearly see what you want – and often.

I have a Vision Folder. Inside it I have photographs, pages from magazines and mock-ups that reflect my goals. It’s an easy and portable way to keep my goals in front me, and I look at them every morning and evening.

2. Commitment – Nothing happens without complete and total personal commitment. If you’re leaving out even 1% of your total dedication to accomplishing your goal, you won’t get there. Think about this…what would happen if your doctor had a 99% commitment to healing you or your loved one? Would that be enough for you? Would you have respect for them?

If you want to sleep well at night, if you want to be respected by those you’re in relationship with and if you want to have overwhelming self-respect – commit 155% of yourself to your goals and watch your life change for the better.

3. Self-Honesty – This is a tough one for some folks. Not everyone is comfortable taking a hard look within. But if you’re serious about being successful you need to look within to see what you’re doing to create your own experience. You also need to be honest about what skills you need to learn to get you to where you want to be. Also, take an honest internal inventory of your emotional health. If you’re carrying resentment from your last employment experience, your last relationship or any other experience, it’s limiting the success you create today.

Think about the people you’ve known that use resentment as insulation in their life – now notice how betrayal is a common theme in their life. There’s a reason for that. Call it the Law of Attraction, Karma, a self-fulfilling prophecy or the “as ye sow, so shall ye reap” principle, it means you are creating your own experiences. When you hold on to resentment, you are (subconsciously) believing that you don’t have a choice or any power in your current situation, that the other person is against you in some way and so this situation will turn negatively and there’s nothing you can do about it. Resentment always breeds betrayal in your life. Take an emotional inventory and heal and release the reasons for the negative emotions – particularly the resentment and watch the prosperity roll in!

4. Accountability – It doesn’t matter whether you listen to a minister, your favorite self-improvement author, your Mom or Dr. Phil, they will all tell you the same thing…your life is created from the inside out, so you might as well own it. Blame of any kind is a jail cell for your spirit.

5. Commit to Faith & Belief – Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the evidence of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” - the faith and the belief has to come first – the evidence comes after. There was a book written several years ago under the title You’ll See It When You Believe It. Great title. In the tarot deck, the first card is the card of the Fool which shows a picture of a young man ostensibly walking off of the edge of the cliff – it’s said to be the bravest, most powerful card in the entire deck.

6. Have an Attitude of Gratitude – The most powerful words you can ever use, think or write is THANK YOU. Just as resentment can shut down your prosperity and relationships, an attitude of gratitude will open the floodgates of prosperity and love in your life. (Remember to use these powerful words with yourself as well!) Every life experience is a gift and a perspective of appreciation makes the inherent wisdom of our experiences all that more evident to us.

7. Practice Tolerance – Judgment is another self-limiting behavior that limits your success and hampers your motivation and creativity. Judgment is a terrible burden to carry around and creates a paranoiac state of mind. Practice tolerance and lighten your load!

8. Get Inspired – Inspiration comes from different sources for different people, and it’s essential that we know what works for us and that we prime these sources often. I have a writer friend who has her most motivating songs on a separate section on her iPod. When she feels blocked or frustrated or discouraged, one of the things she does is listen to those songs one by one. Long before the end of the songs she’s belting out the words right along with her favorite artist and she’s ready to take another stab at her project at hand. I like to go for a walk or a run outside. With two small children in my life I may only get ½ hour to squeeze in a run or a walk but that time is so inspirational to me. It really stirs my creativity. Meditating is inspirational as is a good movie, a good book or talking with someone else whose success you admire.

9. Take Care of Your Health – If you don’t feel well, it’s hard to stay motivated. So take good care of your health! Eat well, take vitamins, exercise every day, play, rest and enjoy your work! There’s a saying…anyone would give their money to have health, but no one would give their health to have money. Right now I’m really into juicing. It’s an idea that came to me while I was sitting outside (of course) next to the koi pond at Children’s Hospital when my son was ill last summer. As often as my husband could he would join us and come turn cartwheels to distract and make our son laugh so I could get some food into him. When –pop- there was the idea – juicing. It’s worked beautifully. Our son began drinking his veggies and since they’re masked under pineapple or apple or strawberries, he loves every drop. The rest of our family has started juicing as a result and I’m amazed at how good it makes you feel and how much energy it gives you! A friend of ours picked up the Jack Lalanne juicer for us while we were still in the hospital and he has a neat video on his site at www.powerjuicer.com .

Authentic Inner Motivation isn’t just a skill that will help you earn the kind of money that you want or that will make you happier while you’re doing it, it’s a way of living that will help you to live a happier and more successful life.

Use the AIM Formula in your work and let yourself shine! You’ll be happier, more successful and more prosperous for doing it.

abdelilah53http://www.blogger.com/profile/09912219943347279664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-763624694854729116.post-34498635958104616272008-02-29T11:21:00.000-08:002008-02-29T11:23:15.303-08:00Success Is Simple! by: Mohamed TohamiAre you determined to become a mega success story?

Then this article will show you the simplest formula for reaching heights of success you've only dreamed about.

Remember that simplicity is not the same thing as ineffectiveness, for true power lies in simplicity. As the saying goes, "Common sense is not always common practice."

Let's begin.

Psychologist Arnold H. Glasgow has said, "Success is simple: do what's right, the right way, at the right time."

That's a simple concept, yet very profound.

The quote lays out three easy steps to simplify success, but those steps must be integrated to work effectively ' you can't afford to skip even one of them.

The first step is to do what is right. If you skip the FIRST and most important step, you're eliminating your chances to succeed.

But how do you know what is right for you?

Simply put, the decisions you make every day must match with your true purpose in life. Every action you take must enhance and solidify who you are and what you were meant to accomplish in this life.

When you have a purpose, your actions naturally become more powerful because they are focused and united to fulfill a sole objective. Consequently, you achieve faster and better results.

The second step is to do it the right way. If you skip this step, you'll find yourself in a never-ending loop of trial and error where you'll just keep re-inventing the wheel, instead of re-inventing yourself.

It has often been said that the easiest way to become successful is to find someone who is already successful and follow in his footsteps.

Take that advice and learn from the best. Look for successful people who have reached the same level of success you want to reach, and learn from both their mistakes and their accomplishments. Imitate their lives, learn their methods, and discover their secrets.

The third and last simple step to success is to choose the right time. Take small actions every single day that lead you toward fulfilling your purpose. Prepare yourself so that when the right opportunity presents itself, you'll be ready to seize it and ride it to unimaginable levels of success. The right time to start taking action is NOW. Even the smallest action can make a big difference. Don't worry about the magnitude of your every move; focus instead on the collective power of all your small actions combined.

"Success is simple. Do what's right, the right way, at the right time."

Do what is right by discovering your true purpose in life.

Do it the right way by learning from the best.

Do it at the right time by taking small actions and preparing yourself to seize opportunity when it presents itself.

Can success be that simple?

It can be if you start NOW!

abdelilah53http://www.blogger.com/profile/09912219943347279664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-763624694854729116.post-72813527872881104582007-09-14T04:16:00.000-07:002007-09-14T04:19:59.442-07:00Daily Success Habit Tips : by Thea WestraHere are a few of my daily habits that have contributed to my success:

Read, read, read! I could not begin to tell you how many personal development books, articles, blogs and sites that I have read. I love to keep up with the latest. Information being disseminated is prolific and the personal growth 'conversation' is growing exponentially.

Stay in communication. Each day I am connected with others who are in the personal growth world. We find things out from each other and share each others' experiences. "Learn from the mistakes of others, you can never live long enough to make them all yourself." ~John Luther~

Participate in programs. Since the 1990's through to today I have been on many personal or business development program weekends such as Landmark Education, Anthony Robbins, Christopher Howard, various one-hour or half day programs, evenings led by a very diverse range of people such as Brad Sugars, Mal Emery.

Take consistent action. Never, ever give up. Do what you love to do and do it daily. I love to share resources and personal growth tips with others. My daily blogging reflects that. Whenever I find something useful, I share it with others. Sharing knowledge is what expands an empowered environment for us all to grow.

Develop clarity. Get more and more clear on what I want for my life and what I want my life to be about. Sharing these kinds of posts with others helps to get me more clear about what I love and what I want to contribute. I constantly search for the 'footprint' I want to leave on Earth and move toward that direction, daily.

Visualize with emotion. Spend time every day, a few moments before sleep and on waking, to see in my mind's eye and feel, with every fibre of my being, how it is for me when I fulfill every one of my personal goals.

Vision board. Yes, I have created one of these and it is posted up on the inside of my wardrobe door so that I see it each day when I dress for the day. Here is a little more about vision boards for those of you who would like to create one as well - christinekane.com/blog/?p=127

Have systems. For all the things to which I need to attend daily, I have systems in place to keep me organized. I have templates that I can personalize for emails that are repetitive. I have filing systems so that I always know what to do with the bits of paper that cross my path! I have a calendar that throws up reminders on my computer screen. Any promises, appointments, requests are immediately entered into that calendar with an advance reminder set in place. Wherever I can, I automate and organize so that it saves me time.

Be discerning. I am becoming more and more selective and attend only to those things that move forward my vision. There are less and less low quality and time wasting activities that grab my attention, the more success that I experience. As success levels increase, so do the number of requests in my email in-box and other places. I am more vigilant with productive, high leverage use of my time.

Create personal time. Greg (my partner) and I have set aside Saturday afternoon through to Monday morning as our time. We both have our own businesses and unless we schedule time together, it is very easily to allow external influences to keep us in activity 24/7 so we must set aside deliberate time that is ours to do with as we please.

Good friends. Have people around you who know you well and will tell it to you straight! "I don't need a friend who changes when I change and who nods when I nod; my shadow does that much better." ~Plutarch~ I have phone calls and coffee meets scheduled with those friends, every week.

Focus on the good. This one takes me a lot of practice. Keep the focus on what is working and what is right, rather than what is wrong and not going the way I'd like it to go. My best tool for this is a poster at my desk, "Whatever you focus on WILL expand." It reminds me to 'switch' and replace a negative thought immediately.

Be aware and present. I am so much better at staying in the present moment, noticing my internal hunches and going with those than I used to be years ago. This is as a result of committing to being that way and being vigilant. It takes practice.

Value myself and my contribution. I trust that I make a difference. I believe in myself and value myself as unique. I take space because I have a right to do that. No human is of lesser or greater value than another and I include myself in that equation.

Learn and explore. I stay curious. It's amazing the things I discover when I give up that 'I already know'. I hear the gold in the communication from other people and can weigh up if something is for me or not, by staying open to the new. It keeps me flexible and OK with saying yes or no. It helps me forgive myself moment by moment when I change my mind about a direction I'm traveling.

Know when enough is enough. I am finishing my article here because I can see that I could go on forever. There are so many things I could choose to share which contribute to my success. So this paragraph is my cut-off, and I decide to be content and complete with what I have written here. I trust that others will fill the gaps with items that I have not shared here!

abdelilah53http://www.blogger.com/profile/09912219943347279664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-763624694854729116.post-76394430186495070062007-09-10T16:28:00.000-07:002007-09-10T16:31:18.222-07:00Where's Your Success : by Alison BolgerDon’t you just get fed up hearing about all these successful people and how well they are doing? You don’t begrudge others their success, as you know they deserve to be successful, and have probably worked really hard to get what they have. But you know you have been trying really hard to be successful too, and no matter how hard you try nothing seems to work. It’s just not fair is it? So what’s the difference? There must be something that they’re doing that you aren’t but what is it?

Maybe there are some underlying beliefs you have, that you are not even aware of that are stopping you from getting what you want. At some core level you are sabotaging yourself without even being conscious of what you are doing. Hard to believe isn’t it?

You were born to be successful, but from a very early age you start learning how to be unsuccessful. As a kid you believed you could do and be anything you wanted with no limitations. In the games you played you actually believed you were superman or bat woman with no limitations on what you could do. When you sung into your pretend microphone you just knew you were going to be the next big rock star. You were happy, carefree and afraid of nothing.

Then as you grew up you started listening to the adults around you, and as they are bigger than you, you started believing everything they said. I’m sure you have heard them before…”you can’t have everything in life”, “money doesn’t grow on trees”, “that’s just not practical” etc. etc. You started to believe what they said and all of a sudden your light is turned off and you stop wanting altogether. You start living life from a practical, logical perspective. “If I want to get anywhere in life I’ll have to work hard”. “It doesn’t matter what job I have as long as I can earn enough money to pay the bills”. Before you know it you have taken on layer after layer of all these beliefs and your whole life revolves around living your life within the boundaries of those beliefs.

Once you realize that this is what you’re doing, then you can start paying attention to what you’re thinking about on a daily basis. Just by recognizing what you’re thinking about will help you free up some of your attention around your old beliefs. You can begin to replace those old beliefs with some new ones that will start bringing you the things you want.

Once you recognize that a thought or belief is not serving you then you need to replace it with something that will move you in the direction of your dreams. Your ability to change the thoughts and ideas you have of yourself will determine your success.

In Sandy Forster’s book “How to be wildly Wealthy Fast” you will learn quick and easy success secrets that will help you achieve your dreams. And by following the simple strategies you’ll soon be on your way to creating the success you desire and deserve.

abdelilah53http://www.blogger.com/profile/09912219943347279664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-763624694854729116.post-10348213243619312342007-09-10T11:11:00.000-07:002007-09-10T11:14:47.677-07:00Communicate Clearly to Connect by: Sue CurrieDo you ever wonder "what to say" when you head off to a networking event or a client meeting? Do you think it's easier to write an email rather than pick up the phone and have a real conversation? Well you're not alone. When we're busy working at our computers all day, generally alone, it's easy to lose the knack of easy conversation. Let's face it, the cat really isn't that interested in what you have to say. Take a few moments to read a few tips to get talking again…

As a fan of the TV show The West Wing; I watched with interest and amusement the "grooming" of the character Toby Ziegler from Communications Director to White House Press Secretary. In addressing the media his assistant constantly reminded him to use the communication skills of wooing a woman. To be "witty and seductive."

In winning over our clients or the media perhaps we don't need to go that far but is does pay to put some "personality" into your customer communication.

For many of us we're busy constantly setting up appointments, meeting new clients, networking and making connections with a number of new people. We are engaged with our personal and professional PR – communicating who we are, what we do and how we make a difference. Therefore we need to ensure each meeting or contact counts.

Effective communication is important when building relationships with clients, customers and the media. A stimulating conversation or well-told story may be the most interesting part of a meeting, presentation or media interview. Even witty small talk with a potential client can evolve into a new business deal or project. Here is a few conversation pointers to keep in mind when meeting or networking.

1. A good business introduction includes your first and last name and the name of your company.

2. Always introduce yourself to those sitting next to you at a business dinner. If possible, meet everyone at your table before you sit down. Sit next to someone you don't know rather than someone you do know.

3. When introducing your guest or another person at a function, mention both first and last names and perhaps an interesting item of information about that person.

4. Before going to an event, business or social, be prepared to discuss items of current interest including books, films, television shows, or current events.

5. You can find your next conversation starter by reading at least one daily newspaper, weekly news magazine, or watching a morning news show.

6. Take the time to get to know others first. People don't care about you and what you do until they know you care about them. Build relationships and trust first.

7. Beware of being a pushy promoter. We're often so passionate and excited about our business or latest project that we talk too much and over sell ourselves.

8. Listen closely and think before you speak. Don't interrupt, let the other person finish their thought before you give your opinion. Learn to do 80 percent of the listening and just 20 percent of the talking.

9. Listen attentively, smile and make good eye contact.

10. Practice the five words that help create and maintain small talk conversation Who, What, When, Where and Why to form open-ended questions.

abdelilah53http://www.blogger.com/profile/09912219943347279664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-763624694854729116.post-47671493258376108632007-09-09T10:37:00.000-07:002007-09-09T10:39:43.919-07:00Is Finding Your Life Purpose Preventing You From Living It? by: Lauren GorgoLately I have been getting a lot of requests for assistance in the area of "life-missions" and soul purposes, and I wish to communicate this concept, based on the feed I receive, but more importantly from a grounded and comprehensive 3d perspective. From my experience, this idea of a life-mission or purpose seems to be the one thing that holds most people back from self-actualization. From my experience, it seems that this is where people get stuck and remain dormant in their lives, mainly because of mere indecision and lack of clarity...of which {soul-purpose} is more often a process of integration, rather than a sudden revelation.

I would like to clarify that this concept of a life-mission, is no more or less than the one thing that you are doing in this now moment, every moment, that brings you unprecedented and timeless joy. It is your essence... the expression of yourself that brings you into alignment with the timeless/formless and the space of the eternal. For some, this is nothing more that having a good talk with a friend in need. For others it is growing and sharing organic vegetables with your neighbors, and for many more it is the love and nutrition you provide for your family each day.

Yet for some, this mission could be the sudden revelation that you receive as an inventor or scientist, or the inspiration to produce a documentary or film. Most probably though, this elusive life-mission is something you are already doing or being, it is the part of you that is natural and the part of you that you love to share. Sometimes its a hobby, sometimes its a living, but we can often make it much harder to notice by constantly searching for it. Perhaps this searching begets more searching...

Are we missing the point of the messages from the many masters of our time which is that our only purpose is to find and emit joy, whatever that means to each of us? We all have an individual signature expression of such, and it is only in that expression that we are evolving and lifting our vibration to the realms of our soul-u-lar truth and expansion. From my experience, soul-purpose is nothing more than who we always are... only we learn to engage it, trust it, and expand it as we grow into spiritual maturity. As we do this, we focus on this once small part of our lives until it merges into a continual expression of self. When we have grounded our truth (self expression) into our everyday reality, only then are we whole again...being who we chose to be in the first place, without distraction.

So then, it can be said that our life-purpose is in this now moment, not based in some future concept or alternate universe. It is the small things that we incorporate into our lives, the big things that we eliminate because they no longer serve us, and the courage to let go of an outworn life that no longer matches our current perceptions. This is how we make room for our passions and create the space to allow our missions of joy to unfold before us... but only as we are prepared to receive them. We must clear our canvases of mis-creation to allow our souls to paint the new and higher versions of ourselves and our lives...and this is where true joy resides, in the creation and experience of those creations.

To do this, we spend many years in preparation for the actualization of our signature essence, aka soul purpose. It is a process of clearing our emotions and detoxifying our minds and bodies for purification to allow the light of our souls to enter. We must heal ourselves of chronic dis-ease through releasing past memories of betrayal, heartbreak and abuse; we must let go of our codependent behaviors and addictions; heal our relationships and find forgiveness in ourselves and in our perpetrators.

We must open our awareness and hearts to those with differences, and join in partnership with ideas and concepts we never thought possible. Mostly,we must grow to respect the path of each individual and honor the mirrors in all to continually lift ourselves out of the forceful momentum of a life based in misaligned thoughts and creation.

As each of us engage in our personal metamorphosis, however it unfolds, we often find ourselves alone, rejected by and isolated from our peers, families and even our own mates. But ultimately in all of this, we learn to stand in our power and take responsibility for our lives and happiness by exploring the whole gamut of human suffering...that is, until the polarity of extremes is no longer necessary.

And this by far, has global ramifications. When we engage in this self exploration we heal ourselves and provide the example for others so that one by one, gender by gender, race by race, culture by culture, community by community, and nation by nation, we can eventually heal the world..or at the very least, set it in motion. Our gifts are in these challenges and years of stretching and growing into our new skins. Our opportunities then, reside in this suffering and often our "life purpose" is hidden behind our challenges and reveals itself in sharing our path and what we learned upon it with others in a way that will encourage each of them to take the required steps to total freedom.

Ultimately then, we all have the same life-purpose...to heal ourselves by finding our joy and then sharing that joy to inspire others. Such is the process of evolution, onward and upward we go....

abdelilah53http://www.blogger.com/profile/09912219943347279664noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-763624694854729116.post-28268003648305325062007-09-06T12:28:00.000-07:002007-09-06T12:36:50.822-07:00The Magic of love by: Helene RothschildWould you like to receive the magic of love? Are you willing to give it? Try this: For one day, consciously make an effort to be loving or kind to everyone you see, with no expectations of receiving anything in return.

For example, compliment, acknowledge, or smile at people at work, home, on the street, and in the stores. Notice how you feel at the end of the day. Your heart will probably feel warmer and bigger. The loving action can make their day as well as yours. It is likely that the people you touch with the magic of love will pass it on to others. You will never know for sure how many people's lives you have touched with these simple, free, kind acts. Just trust that you are making a difference.

It worked for my client Jerry, a thirty-six-year-old computer engineer. He was surprised when I suggested that he try the experiment. The lonely, single man was complaining to me that people are so mean and nasty. Obviously, Jerry had low self-esteem and poor relationship skills.

I said, "Jerry, are you willing to go to work tomorrow with a smile, and acknowledge and compliment people? I do not mean to make up remarks. Just look for something true and positive to say to your boss and co-workers. Notice how you feel and how they respond."

The following week, Jerry walked into my office with a smile on his face. That was the first time I saw that happy expression since his first counseling session. As soon as he sat down, Jerry exclaimed, "It worked, Helene! It was amazing! I did what you suggested and everyone responded back in a positive way. The whole office felt different, and now I look forward to going to work. That is a miracle!"

I congratulated Jerry for offering the magic of love, and acknowledged his courage and progress. This seemed to be a turning point in his life. I continued to help him feel good about himself with the HART process (Holistic And Rapid Transformation), and improve his communication skills. Before long, he started to date and enjoy social activities.

I have also had great success with the magic of love. When I lived in the country, I used to take regular walks on the dirt road. I smiled and thought the words "Bless you" as I waved at every car that drove by. Almost everyone responded by sending me back a warm smile and wave. It felt so good to spread caring. What a wonderful world this would be if everyone realized the importance of and took the time to spread the magic of love.
