Thanks for your article. The extent to which people in America go to sue others (especially a case like this one) is simply astounding. While I do feel a sense of sorrow for this young girl, to say that she deserves a cash settlement because she is being traumatized by cyber-bullying seems pathetic. Can you imagine the problems if more schools are sued for other types of bullying that schools "aren't able to prevent"? (sigh) Talk about another case of someone making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I also noticed an interesting sentence in that article, which is explaining why cyber-bullying is worse than traditional bullying. Its says, "They[,the bullied students] don't know how to protect themselves from it..."

Well, how about instead of turning off all technology or suing all the students who do know how to protect themselves (aka bullies), lets teach everyone methods for protecting themselves.

And why anyone should have the right to sue a school for being bullied by someone who does not work at the school is beyond me. Do I have the right to sue my grocery if another customer offends me in the store? Can I sue Greyhound if another passenger looks at me funny and makes me uncomfortable? Can I sue Veronica Gonzalez if a third party puts an abusive photo of me on some website while I am at her house? I truly hope the judge who gets this case is sane enough to throw it out of court. How embarrassing to Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, Miami, Florida, the USA and especially Perla Gonzalez.
