We have Black Angus hamburgers, homemade ice cream, and watch all the fireworks being shot-off in town. Vesta's house is on a high hill north of Savannah. I bought $6.25 worth of fireworks this year to introduce Wyatt to them; the poppers spooked him, fountains were boring but sparklers were the bomb! The last weekend in June was a busy one. I headed to Columbia (alone!) to attend the wedding of my childhood friend Laura <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Uptergrove</span> and Jonathan Jones. We say we are each others' oldest friends because we, plus her sister Sarah and cousin <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Alaina</span>, went to the same babysitters house (Nana's!) I had a great time and loved hanging out with Kristin and her guys, Sarah, Leslie, Holly, Emma and Hannah at the reception and hotel.<br /></div><div align="center"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SlY3hFNI3gI/AAAAAAAABTs/IyKmsE9Y2RQ/s1600-h/P1010033.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356529848276278786" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SlY3hFNI3gI/AAAAAAAABTs/IyKmsE9Y2RQ/s320/P1010033.JPG" /></a> Bride and Groom with the cake. We went to the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Schweiser's</span> house to play with Cole and Cooper. Their neighbors were nice enough to invite us to sit in their driveway to wait for the tractors. The weather started off hot, then rain and then cool nights the rest of the week. Before I left Wyatt and I had fun in the hot sun! I have a sprinkler to water the grass and thought Wyatt would like to play in it.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Si58kDk43iI/AAAAAAAABRU/WZKi9ivT0ts/s1600-h/P1012744.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345346766612520482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Si58kDk43iI/AAAAAAAABRU/WZKi9ivT0ts/s320/P1012744.JPG" border="0" /></a> Watching the sprinkler and not really liking it. Look at that big gut on Wyatt!</div><div align="center"><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Si58kDaUN_I/AAAAAAAABRM/v0Efo6BR6vc/s1600-h/P1012748.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345346766568175602" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Si58kDaUN_I/AAAAAAAABRM/v0Efo6BR6vc/s320/P1012748.JPG" border="0" /></a> After trying out the sprinkler and freaking out, we were happy to play on the front porch with his chalk. I bought this old table and chairs at a flea market last fall and Wyatt loves it! I hit the Savannah garage sales and bought several cars to play with outside; Wyatt likes to sit at the table and line up all the cars.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Si58ji7pepI/AAAAAAAABRE/Mj3fG7YMMdY/s1600-h/P1012811.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345346757849610898" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Si58ji7pepI/AAAAAAAABRE/Mj3fG7YMMdY/s320/P1012811.JPG" border="0" /></a> Sunday night (6-7-09) there was a big storm that went through Oregon, Savannah and over to <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Gallatin</span> where Lake Viking got softball sized hail for 20 <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">minutes</span>! There was also a tornado warning so we headed to our cellar. Wyatt thought it was a blast, but I hate that place! All the spiders and bugs! We always find at least one snake down there, but this time it was frogs. No tornado, no hail damage at our house, but Oregon was not as lucky....<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Si58jvY-CHI/AAAAAAAABQ8/xEGH_xeswCE/s1600-h/P1012816.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345346761193818226" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Si58jvY-CHI/AAAAAAAABQ8/xEGH_xeswCE/s320/P1012816.JPG" border="0" /></a> This is the roof of my greenhouse at school. Those large holes are as big as a softball! The whole roof was riddled with hail damage. Many cars in Oregon lost windows or suffered other hail damage. You know its bad when the Weather Channel <a href="http://www.weather.com/tv/programs/Vortex.html">Vortex 2</a> team was broadcasting live from Oregon, MO! There were a bunch of tornado chasers in Holt and Andrew county on Sunday night but the only tornado was over by <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Maysville</span>. Most importantly was my cousin Tanner's graduation from <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Tipton</span> H.S. He had been busy competing in the State Track meet earlier that weekend where he finished 2<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">nd</span> in the 2<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">oom</span>, 3rd in the 100m, 5<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">th</span> in the 4x100m, and 6<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">th</span> in the 200m. </div><div align="center"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SiASM7qwlWI/AAAAAAAABQw/elLMB4MZFb0/s1600-h/P1012735.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5341289171446175074" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SiASM7qwlWI/AAAAAAAABQw/elLMB4MZFb0/s320/P1012735.JPG" border="0" /></a> At Tanner's graduation dinner, he opened one of his presents early (by request of his dad, Archie). It was the toilet seat!!! This is a rotating gift, received at big events in your life like weddings, graduations, and 0 birthdays, like 30 40 or 50.) Last time I got the toilet seat was when Derek and I got married (Kit got it when we graduated from <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">THS</span>). It was sort of hard to explain to Derek's family! Tanner, Derek is turning 30 in June, it would be a good time to pass it off! </div><div align="center">If you are still confused about the reason why we pass around a toilet seat, just come spend some time with my family and then all your questions will be answered.<br /></div><div align="center"><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339813903409758514" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/ShrUdB9uQTI/AAAAAAAABQQ/_n5NXtq67yI/s320/S6300256.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div align="center">The other big even of the weekend was the 33rd Lone Elm <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">Turtle</span> Race, held at the Zion Lutheran school grounds. The youth group from my <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">church</span> had a concession stand and there are a LOT of people there as you can see by this picture.</div><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/ShrUeGTp_aI/AAAAAAAABQo/F47HbhA9XOQ/s1600-h/S6300262.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339813921755364770" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/ShrUeGTp_aI/AAAAAAAABQo/F47HbhA9XOQ/s320/S6300262.JPG" border="0" /></a> Kind of hard to see the turtles in the middle, not because they are moving so fast (Ha!) but because they match the grass, something about survival I guess. If they were so worried about survival, they should stay of the blacktops.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/ShrUd4XW3kI/AAAAAAAABQg/4JOfxkfSBvM/s1600-h/S6300267.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339813918012792386" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/ShrUd4XW3kI/AAAAAAAABQg/4JOfxkfSBvM/s320/S6300267.JPG" border="0" /></a> Wyatt and I just placed his turtle in the ring for our race. Last weekend was warm and sunny. This weekend's forecast was cold and 3-6" of snow, SNOW!!!! Well, it did snow and sleet and rain but nothing really accumulated. Today (Sunday) it is warmer, if 45 degrees is warmer. Derek tied our bottle calf Smokey up out in the sun since it had been in the barn for several days. She is doing really well and sucks the milk out of the bottle rather fast. We now <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">have</span> a bottle holder we clamp on the gate and can go about other chores. She has a lot more energy and was not real happy about the halter.</div><div align="center"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Sc--hNvT0hI/AAAAAAAABMg/YTbFkeh5eYU/s1600-h/P1012606.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5318679162780897810" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Sc--hNvT0hI/AAAAAAAABMg/YTbFkeh5eYU/s320/P1012606.JPG" border="0" /></a> Smokey at about 2 weeks old. Since she is a heifer should it be "<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Smokie</span>"?</div><div align="center"><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Sc--g_84ZVI/AAAAAAAABMY/A24V-1_q4T4/s1600-h/P1012604.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5318679159079724370" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Sc--g_84ZVI/AAAAAAAABMY/A24V-1_q4T4/s320/P1012604.JPG" border="0" /></a> I bought this ride on tractor for Wyatt to ride outside, and as soon as we got it together the weather turned off bad. He has enjoyed riding it around the house this week. The first couple days we had to pry him off it to take a bath. I even hid it one morning so we didn't have a melt-down as we left for school.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Sc--gtfbriI/AAAAAAAABMQ/EqCTG88ldC8/s1600-h/P1012603.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5318679154124369442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/Sc--gtfbriI/AAAAAAAABMQ/EqCTG88ldC8/s320/P1012603.JPG" border="0" /></a> Wyatt found the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">screwdriver</span> and is trying to "fix" it like we were doing when we put it together. There are stickers that go on it to make it look more like a tractor, but the screws are stripped out and I am going to have to glue it together (it WAS pretty cheap for a JD toy).<br /><div></div></div><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7548903486933273361-8586290409342506617?l=dlholt.blogspot.com'/></div>Lindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14872949388058675617noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7548903486933273361.post-85029344242390342682009-03-24T15:37:00.002-05:002009-03-24T15:48:12.422-05:00Getting the yard-work done<div align="center">This weekend my parents came up to rural Andrew County and helped with a little yard work. The weather was beautiful and with a couple extra eyes we could get stuff done and Wyatt was well-watched over. Derek and I also gained possession of a heifer calf (rejected twin) that had trouble taking a bottle. After many days of working with her and the bottle and tube feeding we are glad to say she started taking the bottle! Derek wants to call her "Smokey", several people in the area burned off their fields this weekend, so the air was a bit smokey. Stay tuned.....</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SclFG8pyxrI/AAAAAAAABME/2yaamKLG95c/s1600-h/P1012598.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5316856820750534322" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SclFG8pyxrI/AAAAAAAABME/2yaamKLG95c/s320/P1012598.JPG" border="0" /></a> Grandpa Tom giving Wyatt a ride in the wheelbarrow.</div><div align="center"><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SclFGlloegI/AAAAAAAABL8/Fgzi-Ksupeo/s1600-h/P1012601.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5316856814559066626" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SclFGlloegI/AAAAAAAABL8/Fgzi-Ksupeo/s320/P1012601.JPG" border="0" /></a> I bought Wyatt this little watering can so he can help me with the flowers and the garden. Being the classic boy, he would pour the water in the dirt and then put his hands in the mud it created.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SclFGZBRl_I/AAAAAAAABL0/w_dIEHfbw6M/s1600-h/P1012602.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5316856811185346546" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SclFGZBRl_I/AAAAAAAABL0/w_dIEHfbw6M/s320/P1012602.JPG" border="0" /></a> This bucket of water was pumped out of the well, Wyatt got good at filling his watering can with water and then he started putting handfuls of dirt back in the water. Saturday's weather was warm and we hitched up the chore boots and went outside! Wyatt already knows how to drive it (sort of) and Derek and I both gave him rides around the yard and farm.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SZHndgTvLVI/AAAAAAAABJ8/0DvbeHgUtyQ/s1600-h/P1012462.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301272730466725202" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SZHndgTvLVI/AAAAAAAABJ8/0DvbeHgUtyQ/s320/P1012462.JPG" border="0" /></a> Wyatt loves to go with Derek anywhere. I don't know if it is because his <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">car seat</span> is in the front of the truck (as opposed to the backseat of my car) or it is some boy-gene that causes an affinity for trucks and farm work. MU came away with a win after a pretty good game, not really the first half though. While watching the post-game celebrations, Derek started yelling "There's Ethan, there's Ethan!" One of my past students had made it to the floor and gave Zaire Taylor a high-five! He is wearing the yellow shirt with dark hair. Way to go Big E! Are you wondering how I got this picture? Today while Derek was outside Wyatt said "Bye-bye Dad-<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">ee</span>" while looking out the kitchen window! He will repeat words like water, banana, Booker, and kitty but doesn't use them <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">independently</span> yet. <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">Even though</span> he isn't a chatterbox yet, his physical properties aren't too shabby. He launched a cup from the bathtub the other day and very nearly clocked me in the face! He loves his basketball goal and dunking the ball. The other day I caught him throwing golf balls at the goal (where did he find golf balls?!) Those were quickly confiscated. Here are some pictures of how we have been filling the cold dreary days of January....</div><div align="center"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SXSoLVisICI/AAAAAAAABHs/difen8NEYxs/s1600-h/P1012403.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293040374781845538" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SXSoLVisICI/AAAAAAAABHs/difen8NEYxs/s320/P1012403.JPG" border="0" /></a>It was decently warm this Saturday so Wyatt and I went to St. Joseph to the new Nature Center. Next to it is the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">Riverwalk</span> trail that goes along the Missouri River up to downtown St. Joe. It is paved and very scenic. There was ice on the river but it was in the high 40's! </div><div align="center"><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SXSoLZKP0pI/AAAAAAAABHk/CxCLv2pOlpk/s1600-h/P1012399.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293040375753069202" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SXSoLZKP0pI/AAAAAAAABHk/CxCLv2pOlpk/s320/P1012399.JPG" border="0" /></a> In the Nature Center there is a exhibit on the history of St. Joseph. It was a cow-town and on the edge of the unsettled west. By this display, saloons were a big thing in Old Joe Town. Wyatt liked going through the doors, in-out-in-out-in-out.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SXSoKgYodxI/AAAAAAAABHc/Yg2rgMYUZ98/s1600-h/P1012398.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293040360512583442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SXSoKgYodxI/AAAAAAAABHc/Yg2rgMYUZ98/s320/P1012398.JPG" border="0" /></a>Here is a stuffed wolf that howled when you pushed a button. Wyatt was not liking this display. When you first walk in there is a life-sized model of a <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">woolly</span> mammoth. I think it was a lot for a toddler to take in at first. But when we got to the displays with buttons he could push, he had a good time!<br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SXSoKc1fQ6I/AAAAAAAABHU/Nhy8aswc7K0/s1600-h/P1012393.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293040359559873442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SXSoKc1fQ6I/AAAAAAAABHU/Nhy8aswc7K0/s320/P1012393.JPG" border="0" /></a> Another thing we have been keeping busy with is South Holt Basketball, we went to the South Holt-Mound City game for a bit. <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10">Sitting</span> in the stands is okay for <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11">about</span> 15 minutes and then we are on the move. For those of you who do read for enjoyment (like myself, thanks Mom!) will understand this group. If you left chapter book reading behind in school, you will think we are weird. Several of us organized this group about 4 years ago - last year we decided to NOT read a book in December but just have a party. For those of you who think a book club is dorky, you haven't seen the drinks we have concocted and consumed! So this year we had our second annual <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Chicklits</span> Christmas Party - rescheduled due to last week's snow. We do give out awards (named <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Chicklitzers</span>, like Pulitzer.) This year I <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">received</span> the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Chicklitzer</span> for the book you were most <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">surprised</span> you liked. The book I chose was <u><a href="http://www.lisasee.com/snowflower.htm"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Snowflower</span> and the Secret Fan</a></u> . I have added a widget on the right side of this blog to <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">Goodreads</span>.com It is a website you can post what books you have read and your review. We post the book club book there too. </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEyHbDkmsI/AAAAAAAABE4/WMQU2Ebez_I/s1600-h/P1012330.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283058940985514690" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEyHbDkmsI/AAAAAAAABE4/WMQU2Ebez_I/s320/P1012330.JPG" border="0" /></a> back row: Keri Pray, Chris Wheeler, Beth Gregory, Megan <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">Baumann</span> and Baby Madison</div><div align="center">Front: Cara <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">Weise</span> and Lindy Holt</div><div align="center">It was a small group due to the rescheduling - we missed you Allison, Sara and Janelle!</div><div align="center"><br /> </div><div align="center"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEyHC8MG3I/AAAAAAAABEw/HoXvrsEEDjY/s1600-h/P1012328.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283058934512098162" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEyHC8MG3I/AAAAAAAABEw/HoXvrsEEDjY/s320/P1012328.JPG" border="0" /></a>I made the awards and am giving Megan her <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">Chicklitzer</span>, "Book you would most like to see made into a movie" Her book was <u><a href="http://marleyandmemovie.com/">Marley and Me</a></u> and is opening Christmas Day!<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEyGwociSI/AAAAAAAABEo/NmRNWqurHc0/s1600-h/P1012327.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283058929597450530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEyGwociSI/AAAAAAAABEo/NmRNWqurHc0/s320/P1012327.JPG" border="0" /></a> Here is a close up of the 2008 <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10">Chicklitzer</span> awards. The "Easy Reader" award was for the book you would most likely read more than once. The book that won was "Twilight" and was a group pick. Yes, it is about teen vampires but it was a pretty good book and there are sequels! <br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7548903486933273361-2396234751861920613?l=dlholt.blogspot.com'/></div>Lindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14872949388058675617noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7548903486933273361.post-48346105899190889392008-12-23T12:29:00.002-06:002008-12-23T12:45:03.642-06:00The weather outside is frightful!<div align="center"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEu5CxXnII/AAAAAAAABEg/-UNXsccrq3I/s1600-h/P1012320.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283055395413662850" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEu5CxXnII/AAAAAAAABEg/-UNXsccrq3I/s320/P1012320.JPG" border="0" /></a>Wyatt had his first introduction to egg<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">nog</span> this weekend - and he loved it! You can sort of see his <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">nog</span>-stash. Derek mistakenly put the drink in his coffee mug and for a while afterwards, Wyatt wanted to drink out of it (even when it was coffee!) </div><div align="center"><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEu4y670mI/AAAAAAAABEY/6dC6S_raZzk/s1600-h/P1012323.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283055391158817378" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEu4y670mI/AAAAAAAABEY/6dC6S_raZzk/s320/P1012323.JPG" border="0" /></a> Wyatt was very enthusiastic about the egg<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">nog</span>, as you can see by this picture. Derek is trying to get him to tilt his head back - a battle of wills!<br /><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEu4hwdrNI/AAAAAAAABEQ/BNVeHyUuFN4/s1600-h/P1012313.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283055386551495890" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEu4hwdrNI/AAAAAAAABEQ/BNVeHyUuFN4/s320/P1012313.JPG" border="0" /></a>Last week we got about 4 in. of snow on Tuesday (12-16) and then some ice on Thursday night to top it off. We got out of school early on Thursday and no school on Friday. The weathermen were predicting a worse ice storm and everyone was anxious after last year's <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">doozie</span>. It didn't amount to what they claimed, bu the freezing temps haven't helped either.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEu4QX37hI/AAAAAAAABEI/GnU-CA52ek8/s1600-h/P1012319.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283055381884956178" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEu4QX37hI/AAAAAAAABEI/GnU-CA52ek8/s320/P1012319.JPG" border="0" /></a> Scene from our bedroom window.<br /><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEu4D2KPjI/AAAAAAAABEA/uEEt08GzkF0/s1600-h/P1012317.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283055378522324530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SVEu4D2KPjI/AAAAAAAABEA/uEEt08GzkF0/s320/P1012317.JPG" border="0" /></a> Since we got to stay home on Friday, I tried to get all my Christmas packages wrapped and Wyatt played with his window clings. These were a great buy ($1) and he was <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">entertained</span> for a good while. Some of the bigger ones he tore into pieces, so I picked them up and put them in the trash can. Wyatt witnessed this and proceeded to pick up the rest and threw them in the trash too - and then clapped for himself! What a great helper! We did leave them in the trash since they were getting pretty yucky or "<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">ucky</span>" in <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">Wyattese</span>. I did buy a couple set of these clings and will bust out a new package someday when he is bothering me. :)</div></div></div><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7548903486933273361-4834610589919088939?l=dlholt.blogspot.com'/></div>Lindyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14872949388058675617noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7548903486933273361.post-26306477133704653692008-12-20T13:54:00.002-06:002008-12-20T14:12:41.564-06:00Pictures from Grandma's camera<div align="center"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SU1P2KRAnRI/AAAAAAAABD4/pjxBNA1m02w/s1600-h/S5000932.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281965729862688018" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n493TLAYp_c/SU1P2KRAnRI/AAAAAAAABD4/pjxBNA1m02w/s320/S5000932.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div align="center">I have been slacking lately on the picture taking.
