I lived in the Seattle area for 6 years and absolutely loved it! The moderate temperatures year round were great. Our favorite place to visit was the Hoh rain forest on the Olympic Penninsula, one of the few temperate rain forests in North America.
Glacier National Park: few roads compare to the "going to the sun highway." I've spent time in 45 of the states and this is one area that I would definitely come back to again.
Chicago: growing up in Milwaukee, I have been to Chicago many times (zoo, museums, downtown, airports, Sears Tower, etc.) but being a diehard Cheesehead Packer-Backer, I have to stop short of Soldier Field.
Mattoon, IL: My grandmother lived in Mattoon, WI which doesn't look much different than Mattoon, IL based on the picture. Then I checked out Mattoon, IL and realized that my town was much smaller: population just under 500 compared to just under 20,000. I spent many fun filled trips to grandma's house there.
Would love to visit some of the other places you highlighted!Stevenoreply@blogger.com
