Let me share another variation which for me is the easiest but equally yummy. You just need 2 ingridients.

2lbs of breakfast steak and 1/4 cup of this.....

Sukang Pinakurat - You can pick between the spicy or the sweetend vinegar. Just marinate the beef in the pinakurat vinegar overnight. Then thats it. You can cook it the next day. Easy right?

Just in case, Pinakurat is new to you well....it's the spicy vinegar made from fermented coconut nectar and spices harvested in the wild mountain of Iligan City. Hubz bought two variant at the supermarket a week ago, the spicy and the sweetend vinegar.

We also love pinakurat for our danggit, longanisa, tocino and other favorite pinoy food that needs spicy vinegar as dipping....yummeh!

By the way this Pinoy product is exported in the United States, Europe and Australia. Galing noh?

Pandesal sa Probinsya

One Morning Breakfast at Samar - The Yummy Pandesal

Pandesal? really???

It looks like putok but smells and taste like pandesal though unlike the regular pandesal we have here in Manila, the pandesal from Samar is compact. Imagine eating 2 pieces will really make your tummy full and it taste really good when you dunk it in coffee or spread matamis na bao sa pandesal. Ah its heavenly!

Just curious, whats your favorite pandesal palaman by the way?

Happy Food Friday eveyone!

Delectabel Buko Pie.
This one comes from Colette's Batangas branch. Actually, I find Colette's a bit cloying, too sweet for my taste buds.

Now I've heard the ones from Lety's Buko Pie and The Original Buko pie (Laguna) are yummier. Never tried both but next time we visit Laguna, we'll try buy those. :)

Have you tasted the last two buko pies na ba?

Since it's only the two of us, we had left over. So I chopped the chicken, placed in a ziplock bag and into the freezer.

After 2 days, I was reminded of the chicken pieces but since I dont want to feed the husband with the same dish , I decided to make it into something yummier. I transformed it into......

Paksiw Na Lechon.

To do this you will need;

The left over lechon manok

1/4 cup vinegar (I used cane vinegar)

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup Mang Tomas Sauce

1 head garlic, chopped

1/4 cup mascuvado sugar

1/2 tsp whole peppercorn

2 bay leaf

salt and pepper

Then get a bowl and mix everything except the chicken and bay leaf.

Then place the left over chicken and the sauce mixture in a pan. Bring to boil. Stir well, lower heat and bring to boil for ten minutes.

Add more water if necessary, adjust the seasoning. Then add the bay leaf. Simmer for another 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Oh by the way, I noticed that the sauce thickens more while it cools. :)

Pancit hab-hab is a noodle dish famous in the streets of Lucban, Quezon Province, where the vendor uses his thong to grab some habhab and put it in a square banana leaf then drizzle the noodles with vinegar mix. The noodles are eaten by pushing the banana leaf to your mouth. A very creative way to eat it right? :)

That photo was taken few years ago at Buddy's Pancit Lucban Branch at Market Market. I was sorting my photos when I saw this one and right now, I am craving for it. Guess I'll ask the husband to visit Market Market over the weekend. :)

I'm sharing this veggie that I love. This is an easy recipe. If you love eating tofu you should try this. Promise you will love it. :)

You need;

One small cabbage, chopped

500g Tofu cut into 1" cube and fried

thumb size ginger, cut into strip

1 onion quartered

2 clove garlic chopped

half cup beef broth

osyter sauce

2 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup water.

To do this dish simply;

heat work with 2 tbsp oil. Saute onion then garlic. Add and stir fry the chopped cabbage. Throw in the tofu. Cook for a minute. Then add the beef broth. Simmer simmer simmer. Add 2 tbsp osyter sauce. Then, mix the cornstarch dissolved in water. Wait until sauce thicken. Season with salt and pepper.

Saute onion and throw in the green bell pepper. Add the shredded chicken. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

Whisk 3 large eggs, you can add water to make it more fluffier. Add chives then season with salt and pepper. When the pan is hot, add the oil and then the butter, swirling it around so that the base and sides get coated.

While the butter is still foaming, pour in the egg mixture, tilting the pan from side to side. Stir gently with a fork or wooden spatula, drawing the mixture from the sides to the centre as it sets. When the eggs have almost set, scatter over cooked chicken. Tilt the pan away from you slightly and use a palette knife to fold over the omelette.

Serve with rice or bread. :)

Whenever I crave for Kimchi noodles, I would grab an instant pack. It's a staple in our house. The spiciness and the firm noodles are just perfect for me. The husband and I love this ramen compared the ones we locally have here because ours are too salty.

Now, if you'll look closely the background is my Kainan Republic. My online cafe at Cafe World.
Ginisang pechay is one of my favorite comfort food. A very easy vegtable dish to make and is very nutrious too.

Simply saute onions then garlic in hot oil. Add ground meat (pork or beef). Simmer until the meat are cook. Skim off scum that may aggregates on top.

Add the chopped pechay stalks. Then mix in the chopped leaves. Drizzle fish sauce and pepper to taste.

Best eaten with fried fish and rice but sometimes, I eat it alone (favorite eh).

Food doesn't need to be complicated to taste good. In fact those simple dishes are the ones that are really worth dying for like the paksiw na pata for instance.

It's a very simple dish and the ingridients are readily available in the market. A filipino all time favorite.

Let me share this recipe that another flagship food of my happy childhood.

You will need;

1 pc pork hocks chopped into 3-4 inches wide pieces

enough water to cover the pork hocks in the pot

1 cup dark soysauce

1 cup vinegar

5 pcs bay leaf

1 whole garlic, crushed

1/2 cup banana blossom(soaked)

1/2 cup brown sugar

lots of peppercorn

Then you have to....

Wash the pork hocks then place in a large pot. Add enough water to cover the pork hocks.

Add the remaining ingridients and cook until boiling. Reduce heat to low and simmer until meat is cook, approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

Serve immediately with steam rice. :)

See how easy!

Easy Recipe-Fish in Lemon Butter Sauce

Drizzle fish (I used 8 slices of Gindara ) with soy sauce and olive oil. Then add salt and pepper. Pan fry the fish making both side brown. Place in a serving plate and set aside. Fry the onion then set aside.

In a separate pan, melt 4 tsp. butter in low heat. Add in 1/4 cup lemon juice and bring to boil and throw in the parsley. Season with pepper.

Drizzle the butter sauce over the fish. Garnish with the cooked onion and left over parsley.

Serve and enjoy!

And because I wanted to feed the husband with something new, I decided to make adobo flakes. We dont have left over adobo so I cooked it first before making the flakes.
It's my first time and I must say that I maybe making this more often.

For this you'll need

1k pork kasim or chicken (I used pork)

1/4 cup vinegar (I used cane vinegar)

1/2 cup soysauce

lots of garlic crushed

bay leaf

freshly cracked black pepper

then in a pot, just throw everything wait until the meat gets tender. Do taste it to make sure that it's flavor is just enough.

Then when the meat is done, let it cool and shred it by hand.

Then get 1/4 cup of the adobo sauce (and the adobo oil too) and heat it in a pan and boil the meat flakes. Stir and wait until the sauce evaporates. Continue adding the sauce 4 times or so until the you get this crispy/chewy texture.

Perfect with fried rice or palaman sa pandesal.

A chinese restaurat staple - cold cut. It's a combination of chicken slices, pork asado slices, jelly fish, century eggs and peanuts. It's my first time to taste jelly fish by the way and suprisingly, I love it. This platter taste good with hot tea. Hmmmm.

This cold cut platter is P320 per serving at Panciteria Lido. :)

For this you need:

half kilo cream dory (fillet)

half cup flour

1 egg

half cup water

oil for deep fying

For the sauce you need:

half cup brown sugar

half cup pineapple chunks, set aside the syrup

1/4 cup tomato sauce

1 bell pepper cut in squares

1 onion quartered

Now what you'll do;

cut the fillet in serving pieces. Dredge in flour and set aside. In a bowl, make a batter of flour, water, egg and salt.

In a pan, heat enough oil. Place the fish fillet in batter. Then throw it in in the hot oil. Cook until both sides are brown.

In a separate saucepan, dissolve sugar in pineapple syrup. Pour in 1/4 cup of vinegar. Simmer for a minute or two. Add in the onions, bell pepper and pineapple chunks. Simmer again for a minute. Turn off heat.

In a plate, arrange the fried fish fillet. Pour the sweet and sour sauce. Serve with rice.

Enjoy! Promise, this one is yummy :)

By the way, last year I posted another fish fillet recipe, it's a bit similiar but I skipped on the dredging part. :)

Food Friday: Pizza

Supremo Pizza from Domino's

Whenever I crave for pizza, I would always order from domino's.

Why do I love their pizza....well it's fully loaded with lots of toppings, it's saucy, it's cheesy, it has a perfect blend of herbs and spices..... yummy! (oh boy Im craving now)

Another thing...their pizza is not that pricey and if you have your Domino's VIP card (even SM advantage card) you'll have a 20% discount on your bill or you could get a free medium size pizza of your choice. Not bad! :)

Whats your favorite pizza by the way?
