I knew it was coming and I just kept telling myself "just a few more days to get through and then I can rest". I had so much going on that I couldn't bring myself to step away from it. Luckily, I had a couple of open days to relax but I wonder if I wasn't sick, would I be relaxing? My pattern would be to see a window of down time and figure out what needed to be done, work-wise, and do it. While I don't enjoy being sick, I can see the value of requiring me to relax. For the last two days, I've napped, ate soup and barely checked my emails.

Is your body giving you any signs? Is there anything you need to do to care for yourself? I knew it was going to be like the missing piece of a puzzle for me and it truly was. I have been using it daily on myself and others with great results so I thought I'd share.

In a nutshell it works like this. The technique used by the practitioner is to enter the Theta brainwave state and then connect with our higher power and then do whatever is needed to support the client. It uses muscle testing to check feelings, beliefs, illnesses, etc. and when a challenge is found, it is removed.

One of the things I have learned is that one of the reasons change is so hard for us as adult is because our subconscious has one point of reference before we become an adult - our glorious teen years. For many of us, this is an akward time and we are hormonally challenged on top of it. We are fighting to establish an identity of our own - separate from our family and sometimes fighting against everything (or close to it) we've been taught. So anytime we look at changing something in our life, our subconscious says that's scary and doesn't feel good - maybe you shouldn't do it. This is also why, it's important to explore our subconscious beliefs when making a change. It can speed the rate of healing and make it a much more graceful process.

I have been using it primarily for reprogramming beliefs and healings with great success. Many of the beliefs have been around self esteem and money. We sure seem to have a lot of beliefs in these two areas that hold us back. I have FELT the difference almost immediately in every case.

Clients have shared how amazed they are at the shifts they felt as well. If you are interested in trying it, I am offering teleclass for prosperity and abundance where we explore money beliefs and this is a great, affordable way to check it out. Teleclass are available during the noon hour as well as in the evening. I dreamt I went to the lake this fall and everyone was there. All the family and friends who normally join us. In my dream the lake looked different than it really does. It is beautiful in its own right and yet it was exceptional in my dream.

It was a perfect day. There were many trees around...some evergreens, some trees with bright green leaves and some with gorgeous yellow, orange and red leaves - indicative of the autumn season. The sun was shining through the trees sending rays of light across the ground.

There was a feeling of peace and tranquility even with all the people milling around. I took the opportunity to walk down the hill to the lake. As I made my way down, I couldn't believe what I saw. I stepped out onto this large rock that expanded out into the water. It was perfectly flat on top and I felt very safe and secure walking across it towards the edge.

The lake was a good size and completely calm. There was no movement whatsoever. When I gazed down over the rock I could see that while the water looked somewhat deep I could see all the way to the bottom. It was completely clear and the rays of sun provided just enough light to gaze into the water and see everything.

The entire lake was secluded and surrounded by trees and rocks. Directly across from me was a narrow clearing. I couldn't see the top of it but it reminded me of the clearings we used to sled through in the park when I was growing up. This path was filled with vividly colored leaves...the yellows, oranges and reds of fall. The leaves were thick and completely covered the ground. It had the feel of a waterfall, cascading leaves all the way down the hill.

On my left I could see a tall wall of rocks. Dark, smooth and solid rocks. When I looked at them, I felt an internal strength rising up inside of me. In this area there was a waterfall that poured into a small shallow area and then rolled over the rocks in the lake. There were a few people swimming in that area, they seemed free and happy.

I found a spot to sit on the rock and just took it all in. I could have sat there forever.

I wish I could find the words to explain the amount of comfort and serenity I felt but I can't. It was surreal. It felt like such a powerful dream, like a life-changing dream. I felt a sense of honor to be a part of it.

You see, the season of fall represents a new beginning. The sun symbolizes peace of mind, enlightenment, tranquility, fortune, goodwill and insight. It also represents radiant energy. The lush green trees represent new hopes, growth and desires. They are also a sign of strength and stability. The leaves signify a new found happiness and an improvement in various aspects of life. The fall leaves are a sign of letting go of what no longer serves us.

The rocks signify stability. Stones, like the ones under the water, represent strength and unity. The lake signifies the emotional state of mind so a clear and calm lake demonstrates inner peace. The waterfall is also symbolic of letting go. It also represents revitalization and renewal.

This dream is what I've been looking for. Confirmation that I am on the right path. I told my daughter last weekend that even though things weren't perfect I just knew good times were coming. I had felt a huge shift internally and just knew it was good. It felt like this huge weight had just disappeared. I felt open to all that is good in life.

It is time. Time for all of us to embrace all the goodness available. The intentions we create for our life determine what we focus on, what we practice and the results we will achieve. Focusing on our intention, gives us integrity. When we live by integrity, we have a filtering system that increases our self-confidence and self-esteem giving us more personal power. When our intentions guide us, life is no longer a series of doubts and moments of questioning. Instead, when we take actions based on our intentions, we become more focused and have more integrity. I don't know where the last month went. I thought about posting often and always seemed to get sidetracked with something else. The fall is such a powerful time for me and my favorite season. I love the changing leaves and wrote about it in both my September and October newsletters. I have spent the past month getting my 13 year old daughter back into the routine of school which is always a challenge, at a 4 day healing retreat and a 3 day workshop to add another tool to my toolbelt. This past week I've really felt the impact of doing all of this along with everything else on my plate and spent a little extra time sleeping and just taking it easy in general. I am grateful for the time to do this. I am also grateful for the wonderful teachers in my life. Without each of them, I would not be where I am today. I am off to enjoy a massage this afternoon and will write more later.

In Gratitude,
Michele

Glitter in the Sky

Over Labor Day weekend I was up at the cabin and Saturday night, once the sun had completely gone down, I went outside and was greeted by the most incredible sight. The sky looked like someone had thrown glitter up and filled the night. There were more stars than I think I've ever seen and each one seemed to be twinkling. It was such an incredible vision that I had to summon others to see and experience it as well. After a while I went to bed, tired from the days activities, while others stayed up at the campfire visiting.

The next morning those who stayed up shared the story of their shooting star. A star so bright and big followed by an orange glowing stream behind it. Although they had seen shooting stars before, never had they seen one like this.

These are the types of moments in our life that bring joy and wonder. I am sorry I missed the shooting star but so grateful to have seen the glitter. The glitter was enough for me that night. It was a reminder to be on the lookout for all the wonderful and simple things that bring us joy. After that night, I began to take a closer interest in everything around me...

The fresh tomatoes on the tomato plant on my deck - a gift from my sister-in-law.
The beautiful fall day - sun...slight breeze...sweatshirt but not quite jacket weather.
The purring of my cat as she curls up on my lap.
The feeling of connectedness when I wake up to a cat at my head, one at my feet and a little dog at my side.
The opportunity to see a movie with my daughter.
A book that inspires me from my core...read "just because" rather than to "learn something new".

What fills your day and your soul??

Ten Commandments for Wholeness

The Ten Commandments of Wholeness
by Gladys T. McGarey, M.D., M.D. (H)

ONE. Be Positive.
Give yourself something to live for. So many illnesses are born of the mind. What we think is so often what we become. When a body is truly diseased or ill, there are usually many things wrong with it. But there is an essential part of the body, which is still functional and capable of turning things around with the proper incentive. It is so much easier to contact the physician within and turn a sickness around when you have a burning desire to get well. When World War II abruptly ended with the surrender of Japan, a lot of sick people, bedridden, critically ill, got out of their hospital beds, threw on their clothes and streamed out of the hospital. "Sick, how can I be sick…" one woman cried, "When my boy will be coming home after five years of worrying myself to death?"

TWO. Love yourself, without being indulgent.
You are the center of your universe. Unless you keep that center strong you cannot help anyone - including yourself. Even a locomotive can pull only so many cars. I have worked with families where the caregivers completely devoted their time and energy to caring for other members of the family and neglected their own well being. Sometimes they became so run-down that they died before the sick relatives they had cared for. These caregivers had never given the physician within themselves a chance. They had forgotten the "self" in the biblical injunction, "Love your neighbor as yourself."

THREE. Be forgiving.
My mother, a physician for more than 60 years, used to say, "There is so much good in the worst of us and so much bad in the best of us that it hardly behooves us to put down the rest of us." In the absence of forgiveness we have malice and judgment, which tend to put a strain on mind and body, deplete spirit and lead to disease and premature aging. My forgiving patients so often look ages younger than their years. They are easy on themselves as well as others. This easiness becomes a way of life and is good for the arteries. Some, in their 80's, go bicycling. Others, in their 90's, walk a mile a day. They are the survivors of this world.

FOUR. Keep your life balanced.
We are multidimensional. The metaphysician Edgar Cayce said, "Spirit is the life, the mind the builder, the physical the result." If any aspect of your person is overemphasized, it's likely that the other aspects are slighted. Too much time given to rapt thought may deprecate the body and spirit, bringing an imbalance in life. A flabby Elvis Presley, enamored of yoga, told Daya Mata, the head of the Yoga Self-Realization Center in Los Angeles, that he wanted to give up his singing career and become a monk in her order. She told him that yoga was a blend of the physical, mental and spiritual, and that he could serve best by getting himself in shape physically, cutting out junk foods and turning to spiritual music. He listened in part, and made the album, How Great Thou Art, a tribute to the Lord, which inspired millions. Unfortunately, he continued with his junk food, stayed overweight and came to an untimely end.

FIVE. Take time to meditate and pray.
In meditation you listen to God. In prayer, you talk to God. Both practices bolster your connection with the universal world. You need to give yourself some quiet time and get to know your physician within. Pray for love. With love you fill the emptiness within you and strengthen your faith in yourself. This faith allows us to grow. It may not move mountains, but it moves people.

SIX. Listen closely to whatever message your body has for you.
Use common sense and take care of your body - it is the only one you have. If humanly possible, you should exercise every day, if only for 10 or 15 minutes. Whatever your age you need to keep your body firm and resilient. You are as old as your bones say you are. There's an old saying, "A wheat field which is green and alive bends when the wind bows, but when it is dry and the wind blows, it breaks." You need to keep the circulation moving in your body. The blood and lymph bring nourishment and strength to your bones. Without exercise, a brittleness of the bones, osteoporosis, becomes a geriatric problem no matter what drugs you take to prevent it. Your bones need the push pull of flexible muscles to keep them from drying out like the wheat field. Keep exercising. There's nothing like yoga to keep the muscles supple.

SEVEN. Look for humor and joy in every situation.
"Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone." We all know something of the wisdom of this saying, perhaps without realizing that the joy of laughter and the gift of humor are indispensable to our health. Laughter stimulates the adrenals and activates the immune system. So many people I know are burdened with problems - financial, family, health. Yet they are able to deal with them because they find humor and joy in their lives - in the smile of a child, the supportive love of family and friends. Ask the Lord for help, and he will give you strength. Out of life's trials comes the opportunity for growth. Growth brings a new appreciation of self and others - a new clarity of mind and body, and a new wholeness.

EIGHT. Breathe deeply.
We can live without food for three or four weeks, without water for three or four days. But we can't live without oxygen - the breath of life - for more than three or four minutes as a rule. There is nothing more important to our well-being than the air we breathe. A great teacher of yoga, 100 years young, was asked by a student what physical exercise or posture was of the most importance. She smiled and said, "The breathing." As you exercise, you concentrate on the breathing. Visualizing as you breath, breathe in health and breathe out illness. Breathe in hope and breathe out fear. Breathe in love and breathe out anger. Before you know it, your body and mind are responding. You'll feel as if you are walking on air. And you will be. Your blood will be pulsing through your veins and you will be bursting with energy, ready to take on the world.

NINE. Dream yourself to health.
Tell yourself that you will dream when you retire for the night. Soon you will be having dreams significant to your health and well-being. You must write the dreams down right away or they will dematerialize as though into thin air. It is amazing how the physician within guides the sleeping patient's sub-conscious mind into problem areas that their conscious mind has been grappling with.

TEN. Know that healing comes from within.
You do it all the time without thinking about it. You cut your finger. The blood flows, cleansing the wound. Then the blood coagulates, forming a scab, which protects the underlying wound. When the wound is completely healed, the scab falls off by itself. If you think of this at all, you think of it as something that is perfectly natural. And it is. Every cell in the body has an innate intelligence of its own, responsive to the body's subconscious impulse to heal. The automatic response can be reproduced anywhere in the body by giving the patient access to the physician within. There is nothing mysterious or subtle about this process. The subconscious mind directs the healing alpha brain waves to the diseased cells. I have seen it work a thousand times. All it takes is faith and fortitude and an open mind.

Question for the Day - Thoughts

Does the thought you are now thinking take you where you want to go? It hit me like a ton of bricks! When we believe in ourselves, we are 100% living, living in who we truly are. We embrace each and every part of ourselves and are not afraid to show it to the world.

This was a timely message and I struggle to embrace every part of myself and share it comfortably with those around me. I so desperately want to be authentic in every way and yet there is this constant fear that "people won't like that part of me" or "people won't like me because of what I believe". The truth is, its happened and it hurt. The truth is, it continues to happen and it still hurts. Often times, this keeps us from sharing who we really are inside. This doesn't do anyone any good. We cannot truly find the happiness we are all here experience by hiding.

We all want to be liked, loved, appreciated, valued...this is something we all have in common. My hope for everyone is that we will be able to come together one day in our oneness...that common ground we all share. That desire to be loved and valued. I look forward to the day we can all look at each other and connect through the divinity we all share rather than focusing on our differences. I am committed to continuing to embrace more and more of myself and share it with you as I hope you will with me. I look forward to seeing who you are in all your beauty.

This is Good

The story is told of a king in Africa who had a close friend with whom he grew up. The friend had a habit of looking at every situation that ever occurred in his life (positive or negative) and remarking, "This is good!"

One day the king and his friend were out on a hunting expedition. The friend would load and prepare the guns for the king. The friend had apparently done something wrong in preparing one of the guns, for after taking the gun from his friend, the king fired it and his thumb was blown off.Examining the situation, the friend remarked as usual, "This is good!"To which the king replied, "No, this is NOT good!" and proceeded to send his friend to jail.

About a year later, the king was hunting in an area that he should have known to stay clear of. Cannibals captured him and took them to their village. They tied his hands, stacked some wood, set up a stake and bound him to the stake. As they came near to set fire to the wood, they noticed that the king was missing a thumb. Being superstitious, they never ate anyone that was less than whole. So untying the king, they sent him on his way.

As he returned home, he was reminded of the event that had taken his thumb and felt remorse for his treatment of his friend. He went immediately to the jail to speak with his friend."You were right," he said, "it was good that my thumb was blown off." And he proceeded to tell the friend all that had just happened. "And so I am very sorry for sending you to jail for so long. It was bad for me to do this."

"No," his friend replied, "This is good!"

"What do you mean, 'This is good'? How could it be good that I sent my friend to jail for a year?"

"If I had NOT been in jail, I would have been with you."

Situations may not always seem pleasant while we experience them, but it depends the way you see them... the choice is yours!

Letting Go - Quote for the Day

Do everything with a mind that lets go. Our heart has room to grow, to change and to explore. Our mind is opened to concepts, ideas and thoughts never before considered. When life is filled with new possibilities, we become energized, motivated and inspired. When we train ourselves to see through the eyes of possibilities, "no" doesn't stop us it invigorates us. Here is a summary of the major points in her message.

Your world is in a time of rapid change in which the veils that separate the human from the angelic realms continues to grow thinner. This thinning of the veils is bringing about increase in Angelic vibration which is creating a polarization of energies in your world. This polarization moves people into resonance either with fear or with love. Ultimately love will prevail. Why is this happing now. The answer is because you are ready. …… Fear is manifesting itself with great intensity in many forms including war, genocide, terrorism, insurgency, and civil conflicts. ……. Love is manifesting itself with equally great intensity, but not yet in equally great numbers in your world. But numbers are not yet important. Only the power of love being brought through is. …… As the force of fear moves through the four corners of your world, you will find that rapid change will occur, leading to instability and friction. It will at times appear that there is no firm place for you to stand. …. This energy of love is rock solid. It is eternal and unchangeable. It is always available. It is your foundation when things around you are in transition. It is the only safe place for you to be. ….. Invite us to lift the burden of fear from you. Invite us to help you remember who you truly are – love incarnate in the world.

For the complete message from Angel Ariel click here.

How to Obtain Humility - A Powerful Story

There was a young man who desired humility. He went to an old wise man and said to him, "Sir, I wish to be humble, but I don't know how to obtain it. What must I do to acquire humility?"

The old wise man thought for a minute and replied, "Here is what you should do… go out and find someone who is beneath you and do something nice for him. Give him something that you have or do something for him that needs to be done."

The young man replied, "I can do that!" He immediately left and came upon a homeless man on the street who looked like he had not eaten in days. He took the man to a restaurant and bought him a nice hot meal. After he dropped off the homeless man, the young man, who was feeling pretty good, returned to the wise man and told him what he had done. He then asked him, "Do I now have humility?"

The wise old man replied, "Not yet!" The young man's face fell and after a while, he asked the wise man, "What else must I do to acquire humility?" The wise man said, "Go out and find someone else who is beneath you and do something nice for him."

This upset the young man who replied, "But I did that already! If I go help someone else, will I then have humility?" The wise man replied, "No you will not!"

This upset the young man even more and he asked, "How many people do I have to help… 10 people?"

"No!"

"100 people?"

"No!"

"I don't understand… please tell me how many people I have to help? I was struggling with this for most of the summer and what played the biggest role in being able to get clear was spending time relaxing which I don't do often. That probably sounds crazy to some but my idea of relaxing is doing one thing at a time rather than multi-tasking:).

Every day I watched this mother loon and her baby and the father play in the lake. I watched them go from one end to the other, ocassionally disappearing in search of food below the water's surface. Without a care in the world, they seemed so content to just be in the lake (except when we'd get too close for their liking). What a great example of just enjoying the moment.

If you are having a hard time figuring something out, try going somewhere that you love or just imagining that you are there if you can't physically be there. Spend some time taking it all in...the beauty...the stillness...all of it. Just pay attention to what comes to you. I think you will be surprised by the clarity that comes...

See the Flower

Thank you Marci for sending this story to me. It was so special, I had to share it with others. Thank you Amanda for the beautiful flower picture from Arizona.

One day the Buddha held up a flower in front of an audience of 1,250 monks and nuns. He did not say anything for quite a long time. The audience was perfectly silent. Everyone seemed to be thinking hard, trying to see the meaning behind the Buddha's gesture.

Then, suddenly, the Buddha smiled... He smiled because someone in the audience smiled at him and at the flower...

To me the meaning is quite simple. When someone holds up a flower and shows it to you, he wants you to see it. If you keep thinking, you miss the flower. The person who was not thinking, who was just himself, was able to encounter the flower in depth, and he smiled. That is the problem of life. If we are not fully ourselves, truly in the present moment, we miss everything...

From: Peace Is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh
