This is very interesting, and I hope that Rob and Kosta actually accomplish something with this project.

It is intimidating to realize that you are being watched. (not sure if intimidating is the best word... but im leaving it.)

Think of the first time you looked at Google Earth, or Street View, or if you have ever been in a picture that made it to a newspaper or were on TV. Now imagine that the guy standing next to you could be recording your every action just by looking at you, and you wouldn't even know.

Paranoia inducing isn't it.

An industry press release states that Fenway Sports Group, which has represented the Red Sox has announced plans of a marketing partnership with the world's top bull-riding circuit, the Professional Bull Riders.

While Versus has seen growth among young men, bull-riding is still a niche sport with questionable mass appeal, says Richard Luker, creator of the ESPN Sports Poll, which tracks fan interest, and the chief strategy officer at marketing firm TBA Global. Mr. Luker says PBR ranks ahead of only arena football, beach volleyball and women's golf in the ESPN poll and its numbers have declined during the past three years."

"It's a lifestyle, not a sport," Mr. Luker says. "It's not realistic to think it will ever be a mainstream sport."

So why is that ESPN continues to include these events in their programming? Because they are paid to do so, much like an infomercial, unlike the real American sports.

Ron Asheton, guitarist for The Stooges was found dead in his home in Ann Arbor Michigan on Tuesday of this week. Godspeed Ron, you will be missed.

Live Great White Autopsy!

In one of the most iconic scenes in cinema history, Richard Dreyfuss of Jaws cuts open the stomach of a shark to reveal a crushed tin can and a licence plate. Auckland Museum recreates this incredible operation when with public necropsy, or animal autopsy, on a 3.0 metre long, 300 kg Great White Shark on Thursday, 8 January.

The event, run in collaboration with the Department of Conservation, is to raise awareness of the threats facing this magnificent and vulnerable species, and to dispel the unfortunate myths surrounding it.

The female large Great White Shark was retrieved in the Kaipara Harbour on Monday last week, entangled and dead in a gill net. The fisherman notified the Department of Conservation Auckland Area staff who recovered the shark.

The Great White Shark is protected in New Zealand. It is not against the law to accidentally kill a Great White Shark, but it is illegal not to inform the Department of Conservation if one is caught or killed. The necropsy will be carried out by Clinton Duffy of the Department of Conservation Marine Conservation Section and Dr. Tom Trnski, Marine Curator of the Auckland Museum.

"This is a rare opportunity for people to get a close look at a Great White, and to see how scientists find out more about the complexities of the natural world through their research," says Dr. Trnski. "Little is known about the life history of these apex predators of the ocean, and we hope to learn more about the shark's recent past before it came into the harbour."

The operation will examine the shark's stomach contents, take measurements of internal organs, as well as investigating the gills and removing the jaws.

The public are invited to view the autopsy and come face to face with the shark from 11am-1pm in the loading dock at the south-eastern corner of the Museum.

Two Metal Gear Solid posts in one week! Wow.. im a complete loser.

Ok, so I have been following this for awhile, but this is a great looking, fan-made, movie that is coming out based on the MGS Franchise. Its beating Kojima's actual MGS movie to the Screen! Well.. seeing as how there prob. isn't even a script for the real-deal yet, this will do, and Ill be damned if it doesn't look like they did a decent job! Even Otocon's voice, and the way they present "cut-scene" like footage. Its going to be fun at least, I hope its as good as it is true to the series.

"I think most people recognize political satire when they see it," Tennessee Republican Chip Saltsman told CNN. "I think RNC members understand that."

Ok, so it's Christmas again, my how a year flies by, in the realest ( i make up wordseses) sense.
I suppose i'll post something about that later this morning, but in the meantime...

Those of you that know me might get why I find this funny. Also, it makes you realize even more so that there are so many places on earth that you and I haven't ever even thought about.
What to buy at the grocery store, or what clothes to wear, music to listen to, what video games to play, what jobs to have, where to go to college, what religion to study... some of the places you see in the video may not have had the opportunity (or bane) of those thoughts.

Matt here has been all over the world, and been in contact with so many different cultures and lives, while we (I) sit here in our (my) bubble. Lets get out of our (my) bubble, and see what there is to see.

OK. Its official. Im going to have a meltdown. Not only do I own MGS4 for the PS3, and have not yet completed it, due to lack of actually owning a PS3...
Kojima is rubbing it in my face even more with MGST for the iPhone. Another item I dont have. If you know me, you understand how very upset I am about this.

At least I can go back and run through Metal Gear Solid 1-3 on the PS2, and still need to finish Portable Ops... but yeah.

Anyone looking to get rid of or donate a PS3 or iPOD Touch or iPhone.. let me know...

Also, Im looking for Marvel vs. Capcom 2, MAME, PS2, DREAMCAST, or XBOX.

Possession of any amount of marijuana is punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $500. Cultivation, delivery or sale of less than 50 pounds of marijuana is punishable by up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. For 50 pounds or more, the penalty increases to a mandatory minimum of one year in prison and a possible range of 2.5 - 15 years in prison and a fine of $500 - $10,000. For cultivation or sale of 100 pounds or more the mandatory minimum sentence is three years and up to 15 years in prison, along with a fine of $2,500 - $25,000. For 2,000 pounds or more, the penalties increase to a mandatory minimum 5-year sentence up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $5,000 - $50,000. For any amount of 10,000 pounds or more, the mandatory minimum sentence is 10 years with up to 15 years in prison possible and a fine of $20,000 - $200,000.

Sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school adds another 2-year mandatory minimum sentence for sale and can go as high as an additional 15 years in prison and a fine of $1,000 - $10,000.

The manufacture or sale of paraphernalia is punishable by 1 - 2 years in prison and a fine of $500 - $5,000, unless the sale was to a minor, in which case the penalty is 3 - 5 years in prison and a fine of $1,000 - $5,000.

Conditional release: The state allows conditional release or alternative or diversion sentencing for people facing their first prosecutions. Usually, conditional release lets a person opt for probation rather than trial. After successfully completing probation, the individual's criminal record does not reflect the charge.

Mandatory minimum sentence: When someone is convicted of an offense punishable by a mandatory minimum sentence, the judge must sentence the defendant to the mandatory minimum sentence or to a higher sentence. The judge has no power to sentence the defendant to less time than the mandatory minimum. A prisoner serving an MMS for a federal offense and for most state offenses will not be eligible for parole. Even peaceful marijuana smokers sentenced to "life MMS" must serve a life sentence with no chance of parole.
