Malaysia's Internal Security Ministry, which is the custodian of laws governing print media, has found its fingers on the online pie.

There was a directive that alerted newspaper editors on an online resource, the sarcasm-filled Uncyclopedia, warning readers of "untruths, insults and ridicule" about the country.

The press statement, picked up by a vernacular paper, highlighted that the Uncyclopedia covers Malaysia's history, culture, politics, leaders, composition of the Cabinet, national anthem, and names and characteristics of the national flag, in which some information has been found erroneous.

The statement said Uncyclopedia has effectively trespassed Malaysia's esteem with an agenda to cause disunity of the country. As such, the ministry advised the editors not to surf or download information from Uncyclopedia.

Interestingly, the Government did not provide any clue as to how to mitigate people's access to Uncyclopedia, which was mooted by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales.

Apparently, the Uncyclopaedia made some response to this...

Let's see what welcomed us to the year of 2008.

The Company didn't build (nor maintain) the Causeway but we're still force to pay for it, and the toll hike is taking effects over here too.

Lots of celebrations, lots of fireworks, lots of countdown. You might be happy for the new year, but someone elses are more happy than you.

Instead, no one should be happy for nothing this year. At the moment the new year countdown reached '0', these ~~blardy~~ companies raised their toll charges, quietly. So why should you be happy? They are the one who are suppose to celebrate, not you.

On new year's eve, many rushed to the petrol station to pump their car full because of some rumour saying that the fuel price is gonna increase again on 1st January 2008. Hey, the Government ain't that stupid to raise the fuel price until the next General Election, which is coming right in this year.

So, conclusion, Gooji wishes everyone have a good 'hiked' year.

Yes I've shown you my room, but not my ENTIRE room. To give you a good impression of how my room is, posting a 'good' picture of it is important, and that's what I've done.

Nevertheless, I hope those who've saw and remembered the 'good' part of the room have left some empty space to accept the 'bad' part of the room.

I had been facing this thing since the first day I moved in. I was like... 'WTH?' throughout the first week and soon I started to ignore this artistic 'thing'. Complaint was made but useless because they were (planning) to change all the blinds in all rooms to curtains. That 'thing' stayed with me another 3 months until it is finally replaced.

The 'mighty' Shieldtox with a digital thermometer. You can see how seriously Singapore treat this problem, I mean the mosquitoes.

There was one time I entered an elevator after some cleaners walked out from it. Only after the doors were shut I realise that, the cleaners sprayed hell lot amount of these Shieldtox before they left. (Yes I know I was slow. Blurry) By the time I stepped out from that 'toxic chamber', I was so glad that I ~~was~~ am alive instead of being one of the 'mosquitoes'.

Yes. It's the second time in November 2007. After being under pressure for decades, the Indians have finally made their move.

The Government has no discimination against the Indians? Well let's see. I'm writing here just to show the difference between the March weeks ago with the recent one.

Try to watch these.

Next, compare it with those happened last time. Compare what? Compare who were the ones in the public demonstration, AND, the quantity of the tear gases and water cannons used.

Meanwhile here's something good to read. I guess this is a brief summary of why the Indians need to show up.

Ethnic rivalry in Malaysia usually is portrayed as rivalry between the majority Malay population and the large Chinese minority. But sandwiched between the two are Malaysia's Indians. They make up about 2 million or 8% of the population but according to some estimates they account for around 2% of the nation's corporate wealth. This disparity is leading to rising tensions from a group that the authorities normally take for granted.

The Indian community is split into Muslims and Hindus. The Muslims, known locally as the 'Mamak', tend to blend more easily with the dominant Malays - both being Muslim means that intermarriage is not uncommon. (Former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad is the product of such a union.) The Hindus on the other hand are far more marginalised. Politically weak and disorganised, they tend to be largely ignored by the government.

Many are very poor. But despite this, as non-Malays and non-Muslims they do not qualify for Bumiputera status – the status given to Malays which gives the Malays preferred access to university places, government share distributions and other such privileges. Some of the poorest work as rubber tappers.

Several years ago I visited several rubber estates in the northern state of Kedah and the poverty and physical condition of the rubber tappers was unbelievable particularly as Malaysia is not a poor country. The plight of the tappers is akin to that of the aborigines in the more remote parts of Australia except that the Australian government pours billions into the community but with little discernable effect.

Malaysia's Indians are among those to suffer the greatest displacement from the million or more legal and illegal Indonesian migrants now in Malaysia. Sporadic ethnic unrest now beaks out between poor Indians and resident Indonesians but rarely is such unrest reported in the Malaysian media – the government directs the local media either not to report it or not to highlight it.

Growing resentment too derives from the demolition of Hindu temples by the various state governments. Dozens have been destroyed in the last few years. All or most targeted for demolition have been built on land to which the temples have no title. Typically the demolitions proceed with a court order and as such are reasonable. The real issue is why do so many of Malaysia's Indians need to squat on land that isn't theirs in the first place?

But it is the manner in which the demolitions are carried out which unnecessarily raises tensions. The authorities who enforce the demolition orders invariably are Malay and Muslim giving such demolitions unfortunate religious rivalry overtones. Sometimes the idols are smashed before worshippers are given a chance to remove them to a safe place, action which is insensitive at best and a deliberate provocation at worst. The most recent temple to be demolished was at Shah Alam, near Kuala Lumpur on October 30. Scuffles broke out and people were manhandled.

In another perceived sleight, the most important Indian festival Deepavali this year falls on November 8. The (Malay) ruling UMNO party's annual General Assembly is being staged on 5-9 November without stopping for Deepavali even though Deepavali is one of Malaysia's gazetted public holidays. The Malay politicians of yesteryear would not have been this insensitive.

Many better educated Indians are migrating. Those who remain are becoming more strident politically.

On August 12, around 2,000 Malaysian Indians protested outside the prime minister's office to demand better treatment. The protest might have been bigger but according to organisers the police blocked as many as 15 buses carrying Indians from entering the area on the basis that the bus drivers did not have valid driving licences.

On August 30, a class action was filed in London by a group of activists against the UK government for bringing indentured labourers from India during the colonial era and failing to "protect" them thereafter including during the fifty years since Malaysia's independence. The suit will go nowhere of course but it is a calculated attempt to embarrass the Malaysian government internationally to force it to better look after the welfare of the Indian minority. And on November 25, a petition with what activists claim will have 100,000 signatures will be presented to the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur in support of the legal action.

But what of the Indians' political leaders?

Samy Vellu is head of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) party and has been so since 1979. He is also Malaysia' Public Works Minister. Vellu completely dominates the MIC which his critics claim he runs almost along feudal lines.

He was the subject of a major scandal in the early 1990s when the government allocated ten million shares in the country's national telephone company to Maika, an Indian cooperative company set up by the MIC. The company accepted only one million shares. The other nine million were then given to three companies which Vellu described as MIC-linked companies, but which, according to his critics, were actually linked to his relatives. The three companies made tens of millions of dollars in capital gains on the shares. Meanwhile Maika became almost insolvent.

Former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad when asked why he didn't sack Vellu from his cabinet given this and other scandals replied that he had no control over the MIC's internal processes and that he was obliged to have in the cabinet whomever the MIC chose as its leader. To be fair, Mahathir once told me that Vellu had an appalling job, given how politics is played out in the Indian community with the constant and seemingly trifling demands for gifts and direct assistance. But essentially, Vellu is part of the wider malaise of political leadership from which Malaysia suffers from today.

Here's something more to watch:

Back to the story. The difference between the two 'public gathering'.

Well I guess that's kinda obvious. The FRU fired so much tear gas canisters and water cannons towards the Indians as like the chemicals and gases were free (as in no cost). Compared to what happened 2 weeks ago, where the marchers were mostly made up by Malays (as well as other races), you don't see gases and water any other places other than the Masjid Jamek area. (Maybe the FRU has replenished their supplies of gas and chemicals recently and can't wait to finish all of them again).

What I want to express here is how the Government treated the Indians as compared to other races. Fair or Unfair? Judge it yourself.

Today, the Government has done a lot of dirty things, trying to stop the 'yellow people' from flooding the city. You see. The Bersih website got hacked ~~by the Goverment~~ (who else cares about hacking it) and spreading false information to the people. The alternative news sources have been jammed by the so-called "government-allied cyber-jammers", trying to block people from reading news from there.

This is one of the false info I received from sender 4.44am fr 80000888888 at 4.44am 10 November 2007:

"Breaking News - Perhimpunan dibatalkan kerana saya Agong tiada di KL pada hari ini (10/11). Kalau datang kena belasah polis. Kita ada rancangan lain. Sebarkan"

I'll be so honoured if Agong Himself send this sms to patik. But this is such a bullshit that ~~the Government has no choice but to do something like this.~~ nothing is more bullshitter than this. Btw I wonder what is the penalty of spreading rumours in the name of Agong.

Again, the Polis (and FRU) has shown their incredible ability (not to arrest the best) to track down civilians who are going to the so-called 'illegal' protest. It's might be a waste for the robbers who didn't rob the banks today. I think most of the police forces has been dispatched to stop the people from joining the protest.

Well, another long story. Go search for the news on the web as long as they're not from Sin Chew and other mainstream medias. They tell you NOTHING.
