Unexpected Fork

Long time no blog. Why? Because I put my heart and soul into somebody else's life and not mine.

In short, close, dear friend of 3-4? years created a position for me in her company. Blessed I was for almost a year in a dream role for which I thought would send me into retirement until....boom, kablooey, kaput, you've got to be kidding....it was over. No idea. Job is over.

She said I inspired her to adopt her kids, I was one of the best employees she had, she complimented me on my determination, loved to work with me because I never complained, and was like her little sister.

But life takes us places we don't expect. Positive side? Yes. Always. Though I took the unexpected fork in the road, I am happy to say it's been a peaceful one. The depression and anxiety has finally lifted; so, simply put, it was meant to be. Nobody should live like that. Life is too short.

I am not an Island; therefore, I shall share

So, I was encouraged by a dear friend (my current boss) to share that I am struggling with something in my personal life. I finally decided I needed to get it off my chest, as I am human, and because I am not an island, now I'm ready to spill.

As some of you know, I am with M&m. He is my junior high sweetheart. We met 28 years ago and after losing touch for 20 years (and his 16-year failing marriage), he found me. It touched my heart and soul, and I knew he was mine. We got back together 7 yrs ago and on a serious roller-coaster ride, I realized about 3 years back I had lost myself. He became somebody new. I did not. I completely lost the grip on who I am.

I’m moving out of our home and am going off to find myself. To this day, I don’t believe this is his fault. I can’t imagine hanging out with somebody who is miserable, and that’s what he’s been doing. At 38, I found myself with hormone probs that took over my whole being. I have not been the same since. The bottom line is, I can’t love myself, therefore, he cannot love me the same as he did.

So, I am moving out – away from the love of my life knowing that it’s not because of him, but me. I miss me and feel like a failure. If any of you believe in an upper power, please send your thoughts upward and towards me, as I’m finished crying. I’ve had enough pain and I could use the support.

Health Thru Detox & Diet

I’ve had health on my mind more than usual as of late due to my twin’s recent loss of 83 pounds and my recent gain of 15 (due mostly to inflammation). Thought it would be nice to finally get on line and post some research that I’ve found over the years in my studies of natural health. I consider this to be sort of an avocation, and I take it very seriously.

Detoxing is the key to unlocking the door to weight loss:

In short, our bodies are filled with chemicals simply through daily consumption of products that are found on the store shelves and in the restaurants we frequent. Anything that is processed (not organic) is going to be toxic (have chemicals). The more toxins we put in our bodies, the more battles we fight with disease and general poor health (headaches, chronic fatigue, poor digestion, food cravings, stuffy head, low sex drive, reduced mental clarity, and troubled sleep).

Medicines that are given to us by doctors are toxic:

Kevin Trudeau discusses the theory behind medical doctors being in cahoots with the pharmaceutical companies; you might have found at one time or another getting prescribed with a drug and wondering why that particular one. It is because they are making money off the sale and it doesn’t matter if it’s the right drug for you or not. Not only does it not work for you, but you end up back at the doctor’s office and like a guinea pig, they give you something else to temporarily cure your ailments – if you don’t deal with too many side effects, you might find some relief!

Additionally, you may have seen commercials on TV that talk about drugs that have been released prior to approval and due to claims of illness and even incidences as bad as death, they have had to remove them from the shelves and announce to the public to file a law suit in order to find justice. It’s about them, not us as individuals – if we are sick, they make money.

Summary:

It is not just about losing poundage (one can lose 10-20 lbs in just a few weeks), it is about better health and a sustainable life. Detoxing can be done every 6 months without causing any harm whatsoever. It plays a role in the body’s natural purification including the stomach, small intestines, liver, kidneys, bowels, etc. Choose an organic program so as to not add in more chemicals as you are attempting to remove them; follow the directions which typically include a list of foods that are easily digestible, a simple exercise program and you will see the results. Ask my twin; ask me. We’ve both experienced it.

Tips:

As a general rule, stay away from caffeine, refined sugars* (e.g. alcohol, juice, candy), processed foods – fast foods, anything in a box or can that has preservatives, white flour, dairy and red meat. Eat yummy wild caught fishies, raw nuts, legumes, and eggs (protein), raw veggies – green foods, coconut oil, and sea salt. Take a whole food energizer. (I swear by Nature’s Way, Alive´- veggie caps or the shake which contains vitamins, minerals, fruits, veggies, bioflavanoids, enzymes, amino acids, green foods, herbs, EFAs and mushrooms.)

*Refined sugars are just one of the many major reasons a “trigger” is not sent to the liver to burn fat and will stop your fat hormones from working properly – all 6 fat-burning hormones do their job in the liver. If you plan to eat sugar, you will not be rewarded by all the benefits noted above. Also, sugars will raise your blood insulin levels and cause you to increase fat. (I am living proof of this one when I began adding Cranberry juice to my vodka! I did this for about a month, yes, regularly, and gained 10 lbs. And, I knew better! I do not ever drink juice. I almost had a "cranbaby"!)

Good Things Are Com'n Your Way

I'm sad to say that my job has consumed me, Christmas has been put on hold and even my health. I've allowed stress to take over my life once again due to my new job and basically have lost myself. However, this past weekend, I was able to take my work on the road and see my family -- accomplishing 2 very important factors in my life without letting anything else invaluable get in my way.

This picture is of my twin Robin, who has struggled with Fibromyalgia, Thyroid, Neuropathy, possible Cancer...among other things, but she has conquered each and every battle that has attempted to knock her down. Again, she has proven to be my hero. Each day some stronger power takes her to a new level in which she has learned about something new and subsequently has survived.

Here, she's proven that one can gain weight (she reached up to 250 lbs -- and is 5'6 1/2" tall) but accordingly, has proven it possible to lose it just the same -- as it was bringing her health problems. This foto demonstrates once again her ability to fight whatever attempts to get in her way and bring her down. Look at the reality of this...know that if you too struggle, there are answers. You just need to look, have faith and know it will happen if you have confidence. Look up, never look down and know that there are always answers if you just take the time to seek.

Bless you my dear twin and may you find everything in life you've been looking for...including your special, Dennis. It's time for you to gain all the things that our upper superior being wishes you to obtain.

My life-long dream has come true, and though my blog presence is about to severely diminish, I contentedly stand before you as an official paid writer. Last night my sister and I were sitting in the den and I said to her, 'I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle to keep me alive. That would be no quality of life at all. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.'

So she got up, unplugged the computer, and threw out my wine.

Incorporate Exercise into Daily Routine

The older we get the more important it is to incorporate exercise into our daily routine in order to maintain proper cardiovascular health and muscle mass....especially when we sit at the computer all day.

Note: If you're over 40, you might want to take it easy at first, then do more repetitions as you become more proficient and build stamina.

Warning: It may be too strenuous for some; remember, always consult your doctor before starting any exercise program.

Pour Me Up A Bottle

To my friends who enjoy a ~~glass~~ bottle of wine... and those who don't know what they're missing.

As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom,
in beer there is freedom,
in water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink one liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health.

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid,
than to drink water and be full of crap.
