I have a tiny sewing kit inside. It's a "fitted diaper;" it's a "pocket diaper." That means it is not waterproof. It needs a diaper pin. It's only 2 layers thick, but has a pocket that can be stuffed with whatever absorbent material I see fit. But enough of my phobia - This diaper was amazingly easy to sew. It dried in a snap. And with a mom that was paying attention, I felt it get moist, but we had no leaks even without an extra cover! But most importantly... it's ADORABLE!!!

Notice the ladybug on her bottom?
Not sure if I wrapped it around exactly right (it looks a bit bunchy) & I was scared of pinning her. I think the most I paid for anything was $1.50! Once Upon A Child had a huge $1 section, and Super Goodwill was having a 50% off sale on everything. I couldn't decide which fabric I liked best, so I pieced the front out of all of my favorite fabrics. I love how the colors all looked together! The ribbons were all different & bright, too. The back of one of them is the "Jesus and Me" fabric and the back of the other is purple satiney fabric. The hearts are felt. These blankets are perfect starting at about 6 months old, where Elizabeth is right now. I'm not sure exactly what it was supposed to be. Looks like a duvet cover. About a twin sheet size, 2 layers sewn together, one side is pieced, but no batting in between like a quilt. And because of that they charged me the price for a sheet -- $2.00!!! I'd just been to Beverly's and bought a tiny bit of vintage look fabric for almost $9.00 a yard! I'm guessing this is from the 50s. What do y'all think?

So, what should I make with this?

Retro Roses & May Flowers

Look what I made!

Today I rode the bus to DVC with Lauren and tomorrow I'm going to IKEA with a friend of mine -- WooHoo! We ate pizza, corn dogs, and cereal (not all at the same meal!), didn't clean anything, stayed up late, slept late, and made stuff. Here's a few that I've photographed. There were others.

This is a cover for a composition notebook. It was a sheet in it's previous life.

One of the thrift stores we went to last week was selling ALL their clothes for $1 each.
