We had a make up group today, and fished on the northern end of the fleet all day. No boats, just the way I like it. If we held on to all of our bites, we would've had a full fish box, but we ended up with 5 tunas and a few dolphin for our efforts. We had a good day of tuna catching today, and things really heated up this afternoon when the yellowfins were chasing flying fish all over the ocean, and we caught a few on our kite baits!

Doug Dudley from Rocky Mount Virginia made it down for some great tuna fishing on Sunday. We caught a dozen tuna from 35 to 60 pounds.

After hearing a good report from Virginia Beach, I decided to try my luck up to the Northeast. I was the only boat in the area, which makes it tough to locate the fish. We got hit by undersized yellowfins a couple of times, caught 2 out of 3 35 pounders, and a pair of gaffers.

We had a great day offshore with the Krueger family from Abington, Md. today. The first bite of the day turned out to be a white marlin for Bradley, and the next was this 248# bigeye for Tyler. Great job guys!

The last 2 days proved to be the start of our marlin season. Today we released a blue marlin estimated at over 500 pounds! Yesterday we caught a white marlin, our first of the year. There were about 25 blue ones seen in a 3 hour period today, with about a dozen or so released. That's about as good as it gets!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had some excellent fishing this past weekend. Saturday, Sunday and Monday the weather was great, and gaffer dolphin were everywhere from Diamond Shoals to as far North and East as boats wanted to go. We opted for the lower end all three days. It was a lot less crowded, and the fishing was good no matter where we went. On Saturday, we fished a tideline until 10:30. The action was steady all morning and with 20 gaffers and 2 tuna in the box, we went looking for Blue Marlin. After an hour, we saw one that made a half assed pass at a long rigger, then we hooked another one about 350 #! Unfortunately, he ate a tuna rig and came unglued after only a few minutes, but not after giving us a spectacular set of jumps. Yesterday there was a fairly good showing of Marlin in Hatteras, so they should be up this way soon. I've got some dates open in the next few weeks, so give me a call and I'll get you out!

Tunas and Gaffers

It was another successful day on the Frenzy! We started down around the 350 line and caught 2 tunas and a few gaffers right away. The rest of the fleet was catching some fish up near the Point, and as the day progressed, it got better and better with both tunas and gaffers. We fished our way up, and had a steady gaffer bite all day. When we finally reached the Point, we were greeted by three yellowfins. All in all, a great day!

Meat Slam!

One 40 pound wahoo, 20 gaffers, and two tunas make a meat slam for Noel Harvey and crew! Luckily we made it back to the inlet right ahead of the front with 30 knots of wind, rain, and a 20 degree temperature drop. It looks like we have a couple days of no fishing weather, but we have dates open towards the end of the week, give me call!

Great fishing today!! It seemed like the entire fleet found some really good tuna and dolphin action. Rob Jenkins and crew were on board for 10 tunas and 10 nice gaffers, thanks for the trip and I look forward to seeing you in July!

We had a great day offshore today. The tuna did not cooperate, so we decided to try some bottom fishing. We were rewarded with a limit of tiles and 2 groupers. I went on a fun trip in Hatteras Monday and caught the 25 pound grouper in the second photo. We have dates available for offshore and inshore trips. Today was a great day to be out on the water! The seas were calm, and we found a few fish to catch. Overall, boats had anywhere from 1 to 6 yellowfins each, and there were a number of dolphin caught as well. Some of the boat on the Southern end of the fleet had good catches of blackfin tuna. We managed to catch 4 yellowfins and another 2 that were to small to keep, and half a dozen dolphin. Give me a call, we have days available!

We got an opportunity to go fishing at last! The swell from the past few days died down and we got across the bar with no problems. Conditions offshore were perfect for a great tuna bite, unfortunately, only a few yellowfins got the news! We caught 3 keepers, a throwback and missed a few more bites. One boat caught a dozen or so, and it seemed like everyone else had anywhere from 1 to 6 fish, so things are shaping up. I have a trip tomorrow, so I should have a good report!!

Great February Fishing

We had some great fishing the past 2 days. Yesterday, we went down below Hatteras and found the bluefin tuna. We caught 12 fish from 30 to 50 pounds. Most were released, but we did keep our limit of ONE ( thank you Marine Fisheries). Today, we decided to go bottom fishing, and caught a bunch of bluefish, sea bass, and tiles. On the way home, we looked for stripers, but only found a pair of Humpback whales.

New Boat!

After a full month of work, the Frenzy has left the building! We stripped and fiberglassed the hull, faired her out for a first class paint job, installed a new bait station in the cockpit, installed new bow hatches, and painted the entire boat. Not a bad month's work. If it wasn't for all my good help, I never could have got it done. Thanks Dave, Sean, Sam, Aaron, Nick, and Kyle, Daniel, David and Marsial for all the hard work!

The Frenzy gets RED!!!!

After a lot of grinding, sanding, filling and rubbin', the Frenzy got painted today. I am REALLY impressed with the results. Its hard to believe that this is the same hull we were taking a torch to 2 weeks ago! Note the reflection of the painters cleaning up in the second video clip!
